Charlie Newberg is sure about one Nicole Lemaire is the woman God wants him to marry. There's a slight problem, though—he's already left her once. The day before their wedding. To make a documentary.
But he's got a plan. The marketing firm she works for is the ideal choice for promoting his new film. Collaborating will give him the perfect chance to propose again, so he conspires with her boss to make sure she runs the campaign for the same kind of documentary Charlie left her—basically at the altar—for.
Despite Nicole's resistance, the two work well together. But Charlie's going to need more than teamwork to convince the jilted bride to give him a second chance. In fact, he might need to fall in love in a way he's never really understood.

As someone who has always felt unseen, cast aside, like the "lost sheep", I completely related to Nicole. My dad's even a pastor, though without her dad's particular sins. But I have always felt sacrificed.
And now I feel seen.
God rarely works the way we expect Him to, does He? He rarely sends the people we expect. He definitely works in mysterious ways. And I am so grateful for that.
I am grateful for books, for authors who speak into our hearts. Who word things in such a way that books become so very personal.
So personal, in fact, that as you're crying while reading, then crying while trying to write a review, that you have no idea what to write.
And all I can do is thank Angela Ruth Strong for writing such a personal-for me-story.
~I was given a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
The Fiance Finale has just undid me. In a good way. I wiped tears from my eyes as I just finished the last page. @ang_strong Angela Ruth Strong has written one of the best books I have read this year! This story, while funny, witty, and filled with the best cast of quirky characters has an amazing Biblical application.
“God speaks to all of us. If we aren’t sure about something, we’re supposed to ask Him, read Scripture, and listen for that still small voice of His.”
The overarching message to me is that of forgiveness, redemption, restoration, and the Lord pursuing us when we are one of his lost lambs. He left the ninety-nine to go after the one. This was all done in the sweetest, most humorous and poignant way. All the feels y'all! All the feels! Buy the book and thank me later. 😉😊 *I was given a copy of this book by the author, and this is my honest opinion.
Years ago, Charlie and Nicole were engaged to be married. When Charlie has a chance to go shoot a documentary, he expected Nicole to travel with him. But she wouldn't go, and he just went ahead without her! Now, many years later, she is working with him to help fund his next documentary. The same thing he left her for years prior. But she needs the job, and he needs her help. If all goes well, she elevates her career again, and he gets his funding. Which also means.. he will leave her, again. Will his second chance with Nicole change the outcome this time around?!
This story snuck up on me and completely caught me by surprise. Once I started it, I could not put it down! In the beginning, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Two main characters that seemed to be so closed off to love but somehow were engaged before. But as the story unfolds you start to understand the characters: why Nicole will not "sacrifice herself" for her relationship, and why Charlie believes he "doing God's will" by proposing over and over to Nicole. But neither of their actions ever reflected true feelings. She can't open herself to love because in her past, it's always been destructive. Charlie has been hardwired since childhood to do what needs to be done without ever assessing what he feels. You start to understand why Nicole is holding back. And why Charlie seems to be clueless about proposals, love, and what he's being called to do. This story is amazing. It's all about two people that broke up years prior and they get a second chance, but it's only if they can avoid the past and focus on the present. And it's while they tap into the present they start to truly, finally, understand the other, and can finally forgive , heal , and open themselves to possible love again.
I loved this story. It was more than a romance. It unpacked both Charlies and Nicoles past and it reminded me of how that shapes our futures. It also really caused the main characters to search for God, pray, and wait to see his will. And they had to seek out forgiveness for themselves and to be able to forgive others. I found myself in tears in the end because just the raw emotion of what was being unpacked, confessed, and forgiven. Gosh, this story! Add in quotes about love before each chapter ... it was the perfect read. ❤️ Now I just need to go back and read books 1 and 2 in this series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. A positive review was not required. This review reflects my personal opinion only.
One of my favorite endings to a love story ever! What a great ending to an incredible series!
I really loved how Fiance Finale took a more in depth approach to a relationahip, and the struggles that two people had in forgiving each other as well as themselves. And finding just how much we really need the love of God through the good as much as the bad. I loved the redeeming storyline and the ending had me sobbing...if you know me that rarely happens while reading. I wasn't a fan of the couple from the beginning, but as the story enfolded and I got to see what was behind their fears and struggles my heart grew for each of them. I would reread it again just to have that ending, probably one of my favorite endings to a love story ever!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion
This book is humorous and fun filled! I loved this rom com and was highly entertained by the reading thereof!! I've loved this series, and the characters, the whole way through. This one was fun, and I loved getting to know these two a bit better. Charlie & Nicole are an unlikely couple. I mean, they have a history - they've already been engaged once. But then, Charlie put his travels and humanitarian efforts ahead of Nicole, and she's not sure she can ever trust him again. But he doesn't understand.
Read this story and watch them grow in their relationship, their love and understanding of each other. Fun and light hearted, yet has some valuable, real life lessons we can all learn from.

“A man always has to choose the woman he loves. Over and over and over again. Because that’s what love does.”
Wow! My emotions are all tangled after finished Fiancé Finale by Angela Ruth Strong. I laughed loud and long at Strong’s humor. I loved the vivid descriptions of the Pacific Northwest. I cringed at obtuseness and misunderstandings. I related to being a pastor's daughter and wondering whether family or church would come first this time. How I both cheered for Charlie and Nicole to rekindle their broken relationship, and wondered if it was even wise.
Each chapter starts with a great love quote by a famous author, plus a bit of film roll is depicted. Charlie and Nicole alternate narrating chapters, which probably has a lot to do with the back and forth emotional tug. If the road to true love is never easy, surely Charlie and Nicole prove this. Meri and Kai and Gemma and Karson all appear from earlier books, so this series really needs to be read in order.
The big question is, when Charlie, an independent filmmaker, and Nicole, a publicist, are assigned to work together, will they be able to figure out what went wrong with their first engagement before they develop and destroy a second? It is nip and tuck all the way!!
Alice the jeweler is my fave secondary character. She really sees people. Alice is both comforting and challenging in her loving responses.
Strong brings up so many themes. Hypocrisy in the church, being afraid to love, redemption, selfishness, redemption, lost sheep, making peace with past relationships, mercy, truth, and love. Wow! No matter where you see yourself on the spectrum of faith, you will be challenged to better love others and better live out the Truth.
I received a copy of the book from the author and JustRead Tours. I also bought a copy of the book for my keeper shelf. No positive opinion was required, and all opinions are my own.
Notable Quotables:
“We accept the love we believe we deserve.”
“She flies with her own wings.”
“Perhaps that’s the meaning of reckless love. God still loves us at our worst.”
“That’s been my experience with God. He doesn’t seem to calm the storms in my life, He just holds an umbrella over my head to protect me until the sun comes out again.”
“In a world where appearances are everything, I have committed the most grievous of offenses. I’m imperfect.”- Nicole
“Is there anything better than being known and being loved?”
Wow, I didn’t see that coming. What started out as what seemed like a lighthearted romance turned into a powerful, deep tale about relationships and healing from the past. The author can write a scene that comes across as humorous and serious at the same time. She makes you think, and she makes you feel. She evokes chuckles and tears and touches the heart. The endearing story may even change your life just like it did for the authentic characters peopling its pages. Whether you read the whole series or not, don’t miss this novel. I received a copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
A heartfelt second chance rom-com, with a strong core of faith.
Charlie Newberg comes waltzing back into Nicole's life after skipping their wedding for a chance to film a documentary years ago, and he is determined to win her back. Her job rides on being able to work alongside her ex-fiancé, in this faith filled second chance romance, with a healthy helping of humor.
Nicole is struggling to forgive after how Charlie left her, and Charlie can be obtuse about why she won't give him another chance. A great read as a standalone, or as a fantastic addition to an amazing series. I loved seeing familiar faces from the previous books, seeing their dynamics and who's side they took in the aftermath of a relationship.
A fun, fast paced read, gripping with great wit, banter, and complex characters. A poignant read, in the form of a rom com, I loved how the faith dug deep and was central to the plot. I loved the depth of the topics covered in this Christian romantic comedy that hits all the right notes!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Love should be reckless There are a handful of authors that I know I can count on that can write a story that will lift my spirits and make me ponder the beauty of God’s love and grace. Angela Ruth Strong has become one of those authors. Throughout the “Love Off Script” collection, she has managed to craft three stories that have not only transported me to the opposite side of the country (Michigan girl here) but to give me a glimpse of into her faith journey as well as her beautiful imagination. Fiancé Finale is a delightful story of renewing love and renewed faith. I was saddened by Nicole’s view of herself as well as her relationship with others. It is a common thing when you don’t think highly about yourself to withdrawal from everyone. Including God. Charlie, I thought, was a breath of fresh air – even if he was a little dim in regards to matters of the heart. But the respect he attempted to show while trying to love Nicole as a friend was beautiful. Sometimes we need the friendship more than the romantic relationship. In the middle of the book, there was a wonderful thought by Charlie “Perhaps thats the meaning of reckless love, God still loves us at our worst.” This story is a hit and I am so glad I have the opportunity to share it with you. ***this review is completely voluntary and a positive view was not required, but happily given.
Oh my goodness, this story had such a depth that I was not expecting! I expected a light romcom and the story is definitely a hoot and a half, but I loved the faith/inspirational thread. The emotional thread to this story was so well done and took this story to another level. I will firmly admit to spending a significant chunk of the book wanting to absolutely throttle Charlie but he finally learns and that ending was amazing. I also loved catching up with Meri, Gemma and the rest of the gang as well. This was a quick and easy read, and the story was so much fun!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
In a world that elevates romantic heroes who are hailed as swoon worthy, Ms. Strong gives us Charlie. He’s the absolute most goobery autistic-coded hero I’ve ever read, and he’s wonderful. He’s a black and white thinker. There’s a lot of the nonverbal and undercurrent of social interaction he absolutely doesn’t get. He’s unabashedly honest, but also sensitive and willing to learn. His heart for God is precious—the church worship scene and then later the island and even later the bigger church scene (IYKYK)… what a heart. He may not be a typical book boyfriend, but he makes our heroine swoon in the way he intentionally seeks to understand love by the end, which makes the reader swoon with her.
Nicole’s backstory is hard and oh so relatable. Ms. Strong could not have handled the subject more sensitively or gracefully while being uncompromising of the truth and sin’s consequences. I loved that we had to wait and peel back layer by layer to really uncover the depth of her hurt—Nicole absolutely could have come across more negatively for the way she kept Charlie at arm’s length—but every page served a purpose and told her story masterfully.
I laughed, snickered, related soooo much, got choked up, and finally cheered as everything came together. The spiritual wisdom nuggets were spot on, and if it were an ebook instead of the audio (which was great, btw!), I’d have highlighted like a madwoman. This might be one of my favorite reads so far this year.
“But maybe God’s reckless love is the exact opposite of that. He values people over appearances to a degree that confuses us mere mortals.”
Angela Ruth Strong writes powerful stories of redemption sprinkled with well-timed comedic scenes. To call her stories rom-com doesn’t do justice to the depth of soul-searching and emotional epiphany that exists in her books. Don’t get me wrong - I laughed out loud plenty at Charlie’s antics and chuckled through all the scenes where his roommates do life together. But the scorching pain in Nicole’s heart and the need for forgiveness and grace stood out more than the well-scripted fun. God’s reckless love is indeed powerful, persuasive, and transformative and it was a delight to see Charlie and Nicole transform.
Though I enjoyed the story, I actually didn’t fully understand Charlie nor Nicole. Charlie’s obtuseness in relationships confounded me and Nicole’s inability to see her own selfishness confused me. Despite not completely connecting with the characters, I was still committed to seeing them to the end. And the ending was more delightful than I could have imagined.

charlie's absolutely, positively sure that he's supposed to marry his ex-fiancée, nicole... now, they're working together to promote his new documentary—what could go wrong?
of course, nicole's still hurt from being left at the altar years ago by him, and the possibility of subjecting herself to that hurt a second time is too much of a risk. yet charlie's a little clueless, a little lost-in-his-own-world, which makes the first half of their exes-working-together romance fun—but also slightly off-putting? i had a hard time believing that charlie could almost make it to the altar without any understanding that his choices might not be received well (and still had no idea, years later).
but then, the story gets deeper in the second half, as charlie—along with nicole—realizes the opportunity for growth. for any chance at romance and a lasting relationship, change needed to happen in both of them—and seeing how it all played out definitely brought tears to my eyes. it's uplifting and hopeful, and i couldn't help rooting for charlie and nicole by the end.
as the third love off script book, previous couples, of course, make fun appearances through fiancé finale. i enjoyed seeing their stories tie together, really highlighting the found-family aspect of this friend group.
if you're looking for a cute and fun, but also faith-filled and thought-provoking romance, i easily recommend this one.
(i received a complimentary copy from the publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.)
considerations: —language: none —spice: kisses only —faith: strong faith themes, mentions of God, prayer, and church —content: church hurt, mentions of cheating and parental death
There's nothing quite like a story that starts with a turned down marriage proposal.
Charlie Newberg believes God told him to marry Nicole Lemaire, but she doesn't seem to agree. Their broken engagement five years ago has not helped the start of what he hopes will be something new. But Nicole's job in marketing just took a major hit, and now she's forced to rely on Charlie and his award-winning documentaries to get her professional career off the ground again.
This Love Off Script series has been so fun. It's romcom, but it has real depth to it. That said, I almost felt like Fiance Finale had too much depth. Charlie is passionate about real issues around the world, like illegal gold mining and the lack of prenatal care in some Asian countries. The world needs people who are passionate about these things, but his drive was so overpowering that it almost dragged this book down, the same as it threatened to drag down his relationship with Nicole. That said, I was really rooting for him to be able to succeed in these documentaries because they are important issues that need to be brought to light.
There is a good faith thread woven through the book, becoming especially strong at the end. Readers who loved the other books in this series will be happy to see plenty of their favorite characters. I laughed out loud and even cried while reading the story. I enjoyed seeing each of these characters learn and grow, fall and get back up.
If you're looking for a story that will make you laugh and make you think, be sure to check out Fiance Finale as well as the whole Love Off Script series.
I received my copy of the book from JustReads Publicity. All thoughts in this review are my own.
What happens when you mix a smart, stylish, calm woman with a quirky, logical, and spontaneous man? You get the stars of a Second Chance Romantic Comedy that’s driven by faith and the journey of learning to trust again.
This is the third book in the Love Off Script series, and it’s my first time reading this author, and I really enjoyed it. The events from the first two books were cleverly included, so I never felt lost in the story.
Nicole and Charlie were supposed to get married, but just before the wedding, Charlie took off to Peru to make a documentary. He says he asked her to come with him but she didn't. Fast forward a few years, and Charlie returns, ready to win Nicole back because he believes God wants him to marry her. This sets off a mix of funny moments along with some deeper issues. The characters grow a lot, with a lot of support from family and friends. Forgiving themselves and each other is a big theme here. I really appreciated the quotes about love at the start of each chapter; they offered hints about what was coming up. I loved how Angela Ruth Strong blended the fun of a romantic comedy with serious Christian themes.
Finally Charlie's story is here!! If you haven't read Angela's first two book then you need to so you know who Charlie is and why this last book is such a great way to end the series. I guess you could read this a stand alone but I am not sure why you would want to when you can read the entire thing and get to know all of the characters in the story.
I loved that this was such a hearfelt romance and the faith thread was so on-point. I absolutely loved it. This is Charlie's and Nicole's story and boy is Charlie clueless sometimes. He broke their engagement once and now believes God wants them to get married. So he is determined to win her back and boy does he have a lesson to learn.
Nicole is also trying to learn who she is as a person and who God wants her to be. She struggles with the past that includes a murky relationship with her dad so learning through all of that was important for her character growth.
This author truly created a storyline that kept you turning the pages. She tackles redemption, forgiveness, hypocrisy within the church, mercy, truth and all in a way that makes you ponder but not feel like you have been preached at. There are times where I laughed out loud and could completely imagine these characters in their settings.
Overall I really enjoyed this story and I can't wait to see what her next book will be!
I received a copy of this book for review. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. If they don’t, they never were. ~ Kahlil Gibran
The only book I read from Angela Ruth Strong is her first one in this series called “Husband Auditions” and I thought that was nothing short of amazing, but wow, this one blew me away even more! I think because it’s a second-chance romance & those are my top favorite.
So Charlie & Nicole were on their way to marital bliss years ago, but he decided making a documentary in Peru was more important. Gasp…right?!?! Oh, but it gets better, he also believes God called him to marry Nicole and that hasn’t changed at all. So, when opportunity comes to work with her & possibly walk her down the aisle for real this time, he’s certain it will work. There’s just one problem, Nicole wants nothing to do with that! You can imagine this causes all sorts of consternation. Charlie, for all his zany weirdness and blunt logic, has at least one thing to learn….how to woo a woman. Yep, that’s the magic formula that is necessary to form a lifetime commitment. Nicole wants someone who chooses her first and Charlie need a lesson in love.
This has humor, funny banter, missteps & misunderstandings, redemption, second-chances, and a very poignant lesson that no matter what, God always chooses us! Like the parable when Jesus left the ninety-nine sheep to save the one…which is referenced multiple times. The ending made me cry so much that I was trying to read through blurry, watery eyes. It’s SO good and has such a strong reminder of how God values, cherishes, and loves us no matter our messes, mistakes or failures. Just because He has called us HIS!
My favorite parts of this book, are all the love quotes before each chapter. I’m writing them all down in a notebook to ponder later on!
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and Kregel Publishers and was not obligated to leave a favorable review. All opinions expressed here are mine alone *
Charlie and Nicole were fun characters to follow along their journey. Both are very successful but are definitely an opposites attract couple. The book opens on what should be an amazing day for Nicole, only for her to watch several things happen she never thought would. And the culminating moment was when her ex-fiance becomes her next client to work with. He's of course ecstatic because he knows that they have unfinished business together. She's ready to say "see ya later alligator!" What follows is a story full of finding healing, carrying hope and discovering what love truly is.
The characters are all devout Christians and are trusting the Lord to teach and heal them. It was a really beautiful story of love and redemption.
Just when you think Charlie is making progress forward, the poor guy does something clueless and goes bumbling backwards several steps. But never fear! His love for Nicole is real and he's not going to stop showing her how much he cares. You'll love his grand gesture! Charlie is a great character and truly cares about people. I loved watching him being so giving to help all around him. It was really fun to see his roommates and sister throughout the book as well, especially after reading the previous book in this trilogy. I haven't read the first book but it's on my list. So if you're wondering if you can read this as a standalone, I feel like you could read them out of order and be ok. There could possibly some slight spoilers but not too much. These roommates are delightful! They're all so unique and not afraid to work towards something that they truly want.
I loved the sweet and clean romance between Charlie and Nicole as they worked together and found the chemistry and love was still strong after all they've been through together. You'll love these two together! Especially at the dance scene! Hee Hee!!!
Content: Clean. This book is a Christian fiction novel and the characters do reference God and church and praying and trusting the Lord throughout the book. I thought it was done very well. Some kisses but nothing further. Mention of a secondary character's past and mistakes but nothing graphic.
I received a copy from JustReads. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Fiancé Finale by Angela Ruth Strong is an interesting read—and an interesting introduction to this author’s novels.
Imagine you were once engaged to the man of your dreams when he unexpectedly left you to chase his dream the day before your wedding. Fast forward five years and your former fiancé is back in town trying to convince you to market his new film—and accept a second marriage proposal. How would you respond?
The above situation is exactly the one that Nicole Lemaire finds herself in when Charlie Newberg breezes back into town and into her life. Despite their strained past, the two find a way to work together, while individually wrestling with the question of what it means to truly love someone.
In Fiancé Finale, Strong explores the tension that can arise in a relationship when each partner has their own dreams and God-given callings that do not seem to be complimentary. Does love mean that one person has to sacrifice all their hopes and ambitions for the other?
This novel is a well-written, engaging, and quick read that will appeal to many. That being said, it is not a book I, personally, would read again.
Fiancé Finale is written in first-person narration, which allows Strong to alternate easily between Nicole and Charlie’s unique perspective each chapter. While the writing is strong, I did not find either character likable. Their redemption arc is interesting and believable, but it feels rushed— Nicole and Charlie both have an “aha” moment right at the end of the novel, but each moment occurs so quickly that the reader does not really have time to dwell on what the characters have learned.
Overall, I would describe this novel as a well-written, Christian Hallmark-movie-of-a-book with a cast of quirky (sometimes likable) characters. So, if you are looking for that sort of read, look no further! You will not be disappointed! But, if you are looking for a novel of depth that invites readers to ponder deep questions and themes, than this novel is probably not the one for you.

Book Club Read Audiobook Although written in a “light” voice, there were some deep, sometimes hard truths in this romance. This was also a great conclusion to the series.
5🌟 = Out of this world. Amazing. Unforgettable. A personal favorite. 4🌟 = Loved it. Will recommend to others. 3🌟 = Liked it. Glad I read it. 2🌟 = The book was okay, but I’ve enjoyed others so much more. 1🌟 = I didn’t like it and can’t recommend it.
This was a fun story with swoony moments between two characters that I just couldn't figure out how they ended up together in the first place. Especially since they were very different from one another, except for the fact that they really did truly love one another. This is their story of that realization along with a heavy dose of a forgiveness thread. As these two learn, letting go of the past and forgiving one another and others can be so freeing. If only more people did just that.
Nicole Lemaire is a very well put together career woman. She has for the most part a successful marketing career, until things go south for one of her clients. That is how she ends up facing the love of her life and ex-fiancé again, as well as opening old daddy wounds. How can she keep Charlie at bay while trying to not only save her career, but also her heart?
Charlie Newberg was quite a character. A bit rough around the edges, no lies, just truth all the time even if bluntly spoken. He had his plans, and he was determined to pursue him. In regard to Nicole, he did love her. He just wasn't a feelings person; he really saw no reason for them. He wanted to save the world one documentary story at a time, with Nicole by his side. However, as we already know and Charlie must learn, love is not quite like that.
This was a charming love story that showed the sacrifice someone makes for those they love.
I was provided a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.
For some reason it took me a while to get into listening to this on audio. After I finally connected with the story I enjoyed the remainder of it. The spiritual aspect is strong in this book, which I personally like, and I appreciated the author addressing the difficult topic of pastoral sin, confession, and biblical restoration-something that needs to happen more often in our churches. This isn't just a funny rom com, but has some depth to it. Kudos to the author for that.
I’ve truly loved this series and I’m so glad Angela Ruth Strong ended her series finale with a happily ever after for Charlie! What a lovable weirdo… I only saw Charlie as the really quirky one of the group with his tendencies toward unabashed honesty and failure to grasp things socially until getting to know him in the pages of Fiancé Finale. I loved seeing his thoughts and how much he was able to grow in this story. I also loved seeing him through Nicole’s eyes. Speaking of Nicole, I loved the humor in her chapters, while also reveling in how deep Strong pushed me to go to think about things like forgiveness. My heart broke for her as more of her backstory is revealed, and it made me really root for her and Charlie’s second chance at love. While Fiancé Finale is a little more serious and deep than a straight-up RomCom, I still laughed plenty of times and truly enjoyed the depth mixed with humor. This series has made me a fan of Strong’s for life, and I recommend it often to anyone looking for something funny while also having deep Christian themes.
I received a complementary copy of this book from the author and publisher. I was not asked to leave a positive review and my opinions are my own.
Fiancé Finale is the third book in the Love Off Script series. I have enjoyed reading this whole series and look forward to reading more books by Angela Ruth Strong. It was an easy read, that drew me in from the start.
The character development was great. I loved pulling back the layers to Nicole as she worked through her past. Charlie brought a tuna dynamic to the book as well.
The storyline and setting was great. I loved how each book in this series followed one of the roommates and took on a different aspect of movie careers. The storyline was cute, and I loved the underlying theme of forgiveness, redemption, and love.
The rekindling relationship between Charlie and Nicole was cute. The back and forth was fun, frustrating at times when we just want a happy ending, but also wanting the healing that Nicole needed.
The faith element was great. I appreciated how Angela Ruth Strong intertwined faith throughout the whole novel. Even touching on some heard issues like the Nicole’s father unfaithfulness and behavior as a pastor. How it hurt Nicole and her relationship with God. But how she was able to overcome that and the healing in her faith that came.
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely adored Fiance Finale by Angela Ruth Strong! It is the third book in the Love Off Script series, but it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t read the first two, but obviously, I loved it on its own. It’s a second chance romance with plenty of heart and humor, and I couldn’t put it down! I read it in a day because it was just too good to stop!
As you can read in the synopsis, Charlie and Nicole have a history. They were once engaged, but Charlie left her the day before the wedding…not because he got cold feet but because he suddenly had to leave the country for his documentary. Needless to say, Nicole was crushed. However, Charlie is back, and he still thinks God wants him to marry Nicole. Nicole thinks otherwise, but she’s got to work with him since her marketing company’s boss pushes her to do so.
Okay. Charlie is adorably clueless. He is one of those people who just jumps into a task analytically. He doesn’t really think about how his missions affect others…not because he’s heartless. It’s just how he is. He thinks God wants him to marry Nicole, so he goes about it like it’s a plan with steps he’s supposed to follow. Yeah, that’s not what you do! Nicole needs someone who makes her needs and feelings a priority, and she feels Charlie can never be that person. So, watching these two fall in love and develop real love…the kind that makes a marriage work after the feels go away…was delightful!
There were so many times that I was just cracking up while reading this, and there were times I was in tears and having all the feelings! This novel also contains a real and deep message of faith and forgiveness. We’ve all got stuff in our pasts that form who we become. But God. God has a plan for us just like he had a plan for Nicole and Charlie. This is one reason I enjoy reading Christian romance so much. Authors use fictional characters’ lives as a way to show us things in ourselves. Strong does this so well! We can trust that God has a perfect plan even when we think things have gone horribly wrong. Nicole and Charlie find this out too.
I highly recommend Fiance Finale! It has wonderfully written characters who jump off of the page, lots of humor, lots of faith and forgiveness, and lots of sweet romance! I just can’t even tell you how much I loved it! I give it 5+++++ stars!!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
After her fiancé Charlie left her practically at the altar to go overseas to film a documentary, Nicole is sure she'll never see him again - and glad of it. Then the marketing campaign that's due to make her career tanks, and Charlie tops everything off by showing up in her office as her newest client and proposes marriage again. She can't decline to work with him, but she can - and does - refuse his proposal. Charlie has a chance to win her back as they spend time together, but unless he can work out what went wrong last time, there's no way she'll give him a second chance...
I have to admit that I could quite happily have put this down for the first quite a while - Charlie in particular just behaves in ways that seem utterly oblivious and irrational. But both Nicole and Charlie grew on me, and I began to see similarities between Charlie's behaviour and someone I know (though he's had more corners knocked off) - which helped me relate to Charlie. And as he gradually came to see Nicole's point of view and learn the true meaning of love, it turned into an amazing book with some incredible insights. Nicole had her own journey to take, and it too had some inspiring moments, particularly in her time with Alice. The result is a very thought-provoking book that may be a bit slow to get into but well repays the investment. Recommended - 4.5 stars.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
This book was so sweet and funny. Charlie was so sweetly obtuse at the beginning and to watch nim grow and learn how to treat the people important to him. Nicole is still mad at Charlie for leaving for Peru the day before their wedding. She’s questioning God and learning to trust again. I loved this book and highly reccommend it to anyone who needs a sweet and funny pick me up.
I recieved a copy of this book for an honest review.
