Among the magi in the world of Danu, there are nine distinct disciplines of magic. To be blessed with one is normal, to have two is quite rare. But every few centuries, one is born who can master all nine. A Savant. These young souls are routinely captured, twisted and used as weapons by the nine Guilds or individual magi who wrestle control of them. A short and tortured life is always their fate. Jack and Myr, two magi unaligned with any of the guilds, find Damien before his discovery as the next Savant in Danu. Can they save him from the same fate and give him a normal life as a child?
Stratos Aeros does a phenomenal job in this continued story from Banishment. Infusing the previous cast of characters with new blood and expanding upon the world i couldn't put the story down. Looking forward to what he has next for Danu.
This book continues the journey of the vagabond, Jack Trevors. This time, however, he has a new partner. Damien. The boy is a savant which is basically someone who can use all 9 disciplines of magic. Y'all... Even though this author writes shorter books, there is plenty to unpack in each one. And they are just fun urban fantasy adventures. Myr is another awesome character! Dope assassin chick. Love her. Damien is a great addition to this book and simply adore his personality and willingness to fight for what's right. The action is top notch and you get a much closer look into the magic system of the universe. I find that fun and awesome but I just like lore, lol. Jack's development in this book is awesome and I look forward to seeing where his story goes next. The villains were great. The ending fight--EPIC! Lord Rexim is an interesting character as well and I look forward to exploring his story more. A well done book that moves fast and has plenty of action. It's written in a 3rd person present which is different but honestly it's kinda cool. If you enjoy the Dresen Files, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, action, fun plots, and an awesome world, you need this! 5 out of 5 and I definitely recommend!
