Daniel Stant’s concentration span is hindered by a habit of violent daydreams. In his mind he commits gruesome acts upon his victims… and now the trances are getting longer, more realistic, addictive even. They prevent him from connecting with anyone else, or functioning in a normal manner; and so Daniel begins a remarkable journey in his attempt to achieve sanity.
Enter Terence Salter, a local hypnotherapist, who promises to award Daniel's brain with a much needed vacation, and soon the young man begins frequent escapes to a hypnotic paradise-landscape within his mind.
And everything seems perfect… until he meets a small golden-haired boy on the beach…

I first became aware of Matt White through reading his book "The Styx" which I purchased from Borders book store, which rightly sat in the staff pick category at the time. I enjoyed "The Styx" so much that when I found out that Icky Pucket was being released I pre-ordered straight away. I was even lucky enough to get a signed copy! Icky Pucket did not disappoint! Dark, terrifying and keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time, I truly didnt want the book to end. Highly recommended!! The book leaves me with only one question... When is your next book going to be released Mr White?!
I must admit this was a long time coming and life just got in the way and when I read his first book, I just didn't like it, it wasn't my ting but Matt sent me icky pucket and my views on his writing skills have greatly improved. His writing style for me was cleaner, less confusing and his characters were well though out and interesting. Well done Matt.....sorry it took me so long !!
