I came across John Hope Bryant in an interview on the breakfast club. He seemed to have a good head on his shoulders. When he mentioned this book, I thought I was going to get some financial literacy tips to help me get ahead. Sadly I was mistaken.

This book makes a case for why financial literacy is important, how we benefit, and how teaching it can be integrated into society. Unfortunately it does not teach financial literacy. There are very few high level examples of what financial literacy actually entails and even less examples of what an average person can apply to their own life.

I wish this book was more clear about what it was and who it’s for. It is for policy makers, business owners who have employees, and educators at schools who can influence curriculum. It is for people who can administer financial literacy programs. It is not for people trying to improve their own personal finances.

Inspirational Masterpiece.

Very well written book with poignant and concise chapters and sections that eloquently tell a story while educating the reader on the importance of financial literacy. I did not want to put it down. The writing kept me engaged throughout. It feels weird describing a book written about finances like this. I believe John Hope Bryant achieved his goal. I highly recommend this book to any and everyone. This will be annual reading for me.
