Storm Damage
Hank Pressman, a disgraced psychiatrist looking for redemption, finds himself in a tornado ravaged, Midwestern town that needs his help. Unexpectedly, he finds friends, romance and murder in STORM DAMAGE. In the ruins of the small farm community of Amber Creek, a young woman's body is found but she doesn't appear to be a victim of the tornado. Hank agrees to help the police and the local doctor, an attractive divorced woman, to investigate the death. The discovery of three more bodies, buried in shallow graves in the local church cemetery, turns the investigation into the search for a serial killer among the townsfolk.

I’m honestly impressed. The moment Hank crawls under the dashboard of the RV while the tornado slams it against the overpass had me holding my breath. And when he uses a meat tenderizer and screwdriver to knock out the hinge pins to free Bob’s family from the cellar? That felt so real and tense. Hank’s quiet struggle with redemption, especially with Marie’s brass angel swinging from the mirror, gives the story real heart. I’m completely invested in Amber Creek and what’s coming next.

I have to say, the moment Hank starts working on Jeremy at Amber Creek Regional really pulled me in. The way his hands remember what to do before his mind fully catches up, that hit. You can feel how much medicine is still a part of him, even after everything that’s happened. It made me root for him in a way I didn’t expect so early on.
Great job Tom.
