I expected him to be more dangerous still I liked him.

This was a quick and entertaining story with some plot holes but still enjoyable. In general the character and plot building is not that deep because the book is very short.
Halo and Ashton were great together and I liked them as a couple. Their relationship grows slow and I liked that the author didn‘t rush this aspect.
Overall a cute Yakuza love story.

What an awesome book!! Had me in a chokehold from beginning to the end!!

I should've known right from the beginning that this book was going to be fire. 🔥🔥 Author Amaya Black always comes with the receipts! And this time, she spared no expense.

There's so much to unpack about this fabulous book. First of all the storyline was captivating and dark. The unshakable and crippling fear that Halo experienced at the hands of her psychotic step-brothers to her creepy run ins with Casper the ufriendly ghost aka Jade Nakamura. Every page was more intriguing than the last. You can't help but immerse yourself in the story. I was tired but I just had to finish this book. One of the best books I've read this year. I hope we hear from Ashton, Halo, Mark, the nieces in the near future. Great job!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

De donde sacan las 5 estrellas... Cuál intriga, cual emoción? Tenemos a una joven que huye de su padrastro y hermanastros cuando su mamá está a punto de morir. Si, tengo problemas, pero si vamos a poner estos temas, me hubiera gustado algo más de flashbacks o algo que me haga temer.
De repente ella está casada, por contrato, ya que nuestro protagonista masculino necesita casarse para poder adoptar o quedarse con sus sobrinas, por que su hermana se muere. Y utiliza una agencia para eso. Pero no sabemos en que consistió el contrato, se menciona, pero más información sobre qué esperar de la dinámica de ellos dos. No hay drama ni problemas, por que él tiene dinero e influenza para protegerla, así que realmente ella nunca estuvo en peligro. El descubre todo, castiga a quién intentó acercarse a ella y listo. Se enamoran porque conviven y ya, se acabó, perdida de tiempo.

I loved this book. I love Halo's (Golds) determination to get away from her stepbrothers. I felt bad when she left her mom. But I knew she had to get away from Stepbrother's (Trevor and Eric and Baby). I loved Ashton determination on who killed his and him taking in his nieces (Maggie and Luna). The relationship Ashton and Halo was beautiful. I hope there is a book 2 because I want Ashton to pay Jade in spades. 5 STARS I love this book and I don't want to spoil it for other it is good you will not want to put the book down.

Will Be Reading This Again

This was so good I was upset it seem to be to short and then the disappearance of Halo step father & not really knowing when Jade ended seem like it was some missing parts. This was so good it could have been longer, I give it the 5 stars because it had of been longer and more details then it would have deserved a 10 star. I will be reading this again.

I had been anticipating this one and it was so worth the wait! 😌 I loved seeing Ashton & Halo’s relationship blossom and the banter between the two. I also fell in love with Ashton’s nieces. 🥰 Amaya definitely kept me in suspense throughout! & the steam was on point as well 🥵10/10 highly recommend and would read again.

Put me on edge!

The story drew me in. It was sinister, thrilling and suspenseful. Some of the characters were such odd balls that they gave me chills. I was captivated by the anticipation of danger and the feeling of what's next. I would have liked to know what happened to Jade and if Tanaka's parents had a change in attitude.

Dark and Spicy Halo & Ashton

My first book by Amaya Black and enjoyed it. I was excited to find out who was after Halo. I loved how Ashton was protective of Halo and his nieces. He was determined to find out who was stalking Halo and who murdered his sister. Great storyline.😍👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Short Sweet AMBW

This is a short , sweet 🌶️🌶️🌶️romance between a Yakuza heir & a young woman running away from her evil stepfather & monster stepbrothers after the passsing of her mom . The story is quite good , but incomplete , even after the epilogue . I still think it deserves 5 stars for the plot , action & sizzling romance.
