A great book! Definitely more for active women who want to learn more about their bodies. I loved how everything got described and explained. Very easy to understand with many examples.
A lot of Info, especially during the biological part but it felt necessary and not like a random info dump like in some other non-fiction books.
I really liked how we got to read about the differences between male bodies and female bodies. How different we train, recover, sleep and eat.
The first book I’ve read around female health, this was great and had so many relatable topics. Sometimes I did find it would drag on a bit but that’s just where sometimes there were topics I could not relate to (yet!) like menopause. Overall a fab book with lots of insight and things I didn’t know that I want to put in to practice
2.5 ★ Interesting topics, but so wide that only 10% of the book applied to my age and situation. I still read the other 90%, but it was not really necessary for me.
So fascinating: jam packed with information, facts, case studies and insights that help to explain and simplify the female body and the way it affects exercise, personality and well-being.
This took me a long time to get through. Lots of good information but some of it was a little repetitive and not super relevant for me personally which I found harder to get through
The Female Body Bible by Dr. Emma Ross, Ph.D., Baz Moffat, and Dr. Bella Smith, explores dynamics of being a woman with a core emphasis of the text addressing improving dynamics of being a woman through dimensions of sports and exercise science which considers extending areas beyond sports and exercise science as well, engaging health, generally and particularly, economically, physiologically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally, individually, and interdependently. Engaging my interests in healthful progressions of life as well as of being a more mindful romantic/life partner, I decide to buy then read the text to further broaden and deepen my healthfully progressing understanding of healthfully progressing parameters of life.
What a phenomenal text. The text addresses girlhood and womanhood with attention to attending oneself personally, respecting one’s individuality, even amidst all the interconnectivity that may seem to be happening, that one may seem to be a part of, with a medical professional if necessary. Education, research, and development about females’ health is extremely important to ensuring a healthier-saner world at large (especially with the continuation of education, research, and development of males’ health for comparing and contrasting and further clarity through growth of more accurate science). Humans are humans and humans may differ.
Here are a few of my ponderings when reading the text; one may assess period product availability as necessarily shifting depending on a potentially supplying entity (an employer may offer each new woman hire twenty period underwear [with clear legal delineations that the offer is a part of improving addressing women’s health not as a form of harassment] though a public train station may opt for selling period products to prevent waste or misuse while a marathon may offer period product kits upon request only), being economical to improve sanitarily-resourcefully especially considering the type of product; there are progressing laws in America to address Menopause which may likely continue to vary state-by-state, and expand hopefully country-by-country, especially considering integrating dynamics of globalization—though, considering every woman may experience even menstruating differently, even beyond educating women, how might women respond to having to subscribe to a menstrual tracking protocol to benefit from health insurance that needs to objectively certify dynamics of a woman’s menstrual cycle apart from Menopause though not dismissive of dynamics of Menopause (to prevent fraud)?; How might Scotland’s The Period Products Act operate of a population scaling?; Tracking one's being in connection with one's menstrual cycling (like being mindful of oneself) may bring one better understand oneself not just considering where one may be though with regard to where one may be seeking to align directionally.
