“Una bellissima storia di amore e accettazione! Ne ho amato ogni momento.” ~ 5 stelle

Sebastian’s a control freak…with a big heart.

Every time I start a new read, I have one foot in my life (got to make sure the kids are doing their homework) and one foot in another world. This one was a little hard to step into. She's an artist…ha ha ha, in real life I struggle drawing stick figures. She has curly hair that escapes from its bounds…unfortunately my reality is dead straight hair that I have to coax life into. She's an independent woman who doesn’t like to have things done for her…there is NO WAY in real life I would say no to someone offering to pay my bills, give me a car to use and free accommodation. Lastly, she's a tomboy who wears overalls and steel cap boots…Ummm, Polyvore crowned me a Style Setter last week (and I am taking that title very seriously). Instead of being the star of Reckless In Love, I decided I’d be an observer. I’m sitting back in my comfy chair, popcorn in my lap and diet coke by my side.

At the conclusion of Breathless In Love (The Maverick Billionaires #1), we get a glimpse of where this story might be heading. Sebastian had seen a metal dragon sculpture and asked his art broker to find the creator. Charlie is the artist and he is keen to get her contracted to work for him in his new building. Charlie’s artwork called to him and he could see that her magic would fit his building perfectly. When Sebastian lays eyes on Charlie he is spellbound.

Charlie is a bit of a strange duck to me. She’s completely honest about her thoughts and feelings in one breath, but in the next, she’s locking down her shields and giving the “everything’s OK” smile when it’s obviously (from an observer’s POV) not. When Charlie meets Sebastian she is a wee bit overwhelmed. The guy’s a friggin billionaire and a hottie who thinks she’s a genius. She’s attracted to him alright, but what normal girl would expect someone like Sebastian to walk through her gate and fix all her problems.

The journey for Charlie and Sebastian is an interesting one. Instead of the cliché storyline we read with most billionaire heroes, we have two people whose main problem seems to be confidence. Charlie lacks confidence that she will be accepted junkyard art and all, while Sebastian’s low confidence seems to stem from his seeking unattainable perfection. This couple must learn to trust each other for their relationship to grow.

I did struggle at times with the couple’s problem-solving solution…kiss, grind and pop buttons. The second half of the story provided us with A LOT of sexy times. Some of it was off the charts HOT, while other times I wished they’d sorted their problems out first. Sebastian also seemed a little unreal to me, he does and says the right thing nearly every time.

So I watched it all play out and in some ways, I wish I could have been Charlie. I wanted the glitter and nightlife with the billionaire who was able to pay for my every whim and treat me like a Princess. In other ways, I was happy to not have to see my Mum suffer with debilitating and chronic pain like Charlie's mum, Francine. This completely safe (IMO) story kept my attention from the beginning to the end.

Stacey is Sassy, received an advanced copy of this story. The copy provided is not the final copy and may be subject to edits and changes.

I couldn’t believe how repetitive this story was!
Also, both main characters were insecure, there were plenty of fillers with sex scenes and the plot was lacking.

I'm so glad I got back to this series and finally read Sebastian's book. I really liked seeing him with Charlie and how their romance started off slow and sweet and then by the end of the book they were burning up the pages. It was great to see and made for a very intriguing read. I will definitely not be waiting too long to read the next book because I have learned my lesson. Do not wait to read these authors!

A sweet romance, with just enough angst and drama to keep it interesting. Nice and likable heroes with a realistic connection and some sexy moments. Absolutely amazing writing style (although a little cheesy at moments).
Definitely recommend especially if you're looking for solid contemporary romances.

I drawn into this series because of the blurp said charlie is a sculpture. I like the idea of art. Like many Bella Andre book this book is minimum angst. Not so much on plot story. Midthrough the book i feel like attending a self help motivation convention. Not so much steam either.

Just in this book, it add a bit dark side due to sebastian past. But even that the dark story is minimal.

4.25 stars! This was a heartfelt , heartbreak read at times for me. I really felt both of their insecurities :(Sebastian was a great hero. he really was a sweet, loving gentleman. I love how he wanted to help and make everything perfect.(sadly this is part of his insecurities). Charlie was a unique heroine. she was a bit different but I liked her. I liked how she didn't give up and didn't play games. She was good with Sebastian. Now at times this was slow and repetitive and I got a tad bit bored but then Sebastian would do something to woo me. Other times I was a little disappointed in how they handle their insecurities. It got annoying sometimes. But that didn't take away from my enjoyment too much. I took my time reading this one because it was refreshing to read about a non manwhore and a non virgin heroine. both had a past but that's pretty much all we get. No exes , no om or ow drama, no pasts details ! Two I enjoyed how they took their time to get to know each other. The built up sexual tension was hot. When they finally did the deed it was sexy hot! Oh and her mom. I love her. what an inspirational woman! Sebastian was so sweet to her that my eyes would water:'(! I liked that we got see to see Will and Harper again:) I needed more in the epilogue. I want to see babies and marriage! I'm interested in Matts story but he has a son. depending the situation with his ex I'll have to see.

Let me start this review by saying I love Bella Andre's writing. She is in my list of must-buy authors for me. And I LOVED Will and Harper's story in Breathless in Love. But Reckless in Love left me a little disappointed (and I HATE saying that)...

Although Reckless in Love is the second book in the Maverick Billionaires series, it can be read as a standalone since each book is focused on a different Maverick. That being said, I knew that Sebastian would be the focus of book 2 at the end of book 1 (got me...?)

At the end of Breathless in Love, Sebastian saw a dragon sculpture and asked his art curator to fine the artist that made it. Reckless in Love starts off when Sebastian finally meets Charlie Ballard, the dragon maker. Her work calls to him and he is determined to get her work in his new building, but when he finally meets the woman behind the work he is equally drawn to her. He feels that she NEEDS to be known for her art and makes it his mission to make sure that happens. Sebastian sweeps Charlie into his glamorous life of the rich and famous, showing off her and talking up her artwork.

She just seemed to let Sebastian take over her life from where her studio would be, her living arrangements, transportation, career, her mother... EVERYTHING. For such an independent woman (like she claimed to be), Charlie just let Sebastian do whatever he wanted. It just rubbed me the wrong way... Throughout the book Sebastian came off to desperate to me. His need to "fix" and have everything perfect just rubbed me the wrong way.

And the "insta-love" between these two just wasn't realistic. I can't put my finger on exactly why I feel this way... there was just something... missing for me.

Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully blend their writing so effortlessly in this latest installment to the Maverick Billionaire series. Sebastian Montogmery is a self-made billionaire whose success has brought him many good things in life. But it seems that there is one thing that has always been missing. Since the loss of his parents as a teen, Sebastian has lost faith in his ability to love but a free-spirited artist by the name of Charlie Ballard shows him that he does have the capacity to love.

Simply put, Sebastian and Charlie are perfect for one another. It’s clear from the very beginning and as their romance develops, it really became a story that you can sit back and just enjoy. I found that whereas in the first book a lot of Andre’s trademark tricks made it into the story, Skully perhaps added some of her own. I could definitely tell a difference in the writing style with this one.

As always, readers are in for a fun treat. Sebastian is very much the ideal hero. He’s charming, sweet and has that touch of roughness that I think makes him undeniably sexy. Charlie, too, is a sweetheart. I loved her passion and found her nervousness around Sebastian to be very cute. These romances tend to be quite lighthearted and sexy but I thought that the authors did a good job of exploring deeper into Sebastian’s past and getting to the heart of his character.

Also, I will say that I absolutely appreciate the gorgeous cover. That bit of scruff paired with a crisp suit? Yeah, this cover does bad things to me.

well .... the high I had from reading Breathless in Love completely fizzled to negative sub-zero with Reckless in Love :(

The story of Sebastian and Charlie was excruciatingly long and took place entirely too much in their heads. The should we, should we not was so painful to read that when they finally did I felt like skimming the entire thing. The lack of trust and communication written into these characters was in contradiction to their very open desire for one another from the moment they set eyes on each other. A desire that took them an *eye-twitching* amount of time to consummate!! Nothing about either of them made any sense to me, as a couple. I understood them very well as individuals, but their romance is a mystery to me ....

I'm hoping Matt & Ariana's story can bring this series back to me ....

Was I reading the same book as everyone else? I see all these 4 and 5 star reviews and I wonder. I don't know if it was because Ms. Andre co-write this with another author, but this book took FOREVER to read. (NOTE: I read the first book of this series and it was a much better storyline than this one. You couldn't tell 2 authors co-wrote it.) I am a person who can easily read a book a day if it captures my full attention, which this book did not. I finally started skimming at around 65% because I was tired of waiting for something, ANYTHING to happen. Disappointingly, nothing ever really happened. This book is filled with way too many pages of both the hero and heroine questioning every little thing about every little thing. I don't feel that there was any real depth to their relationship. It was very frustrating to read. I felt no connection to either main character. I wish there has been more about the other Mavericks just to add some interest to the story. I would love to say I'll stick around long enough to see Evan finally dump that witch he is married to, but I think I'm done with this series. I'll stick to Ms. Andre's Sullivans' and Morrisons' series, thank you very much.

Kitty's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I could always depend on Bella Andre to bring me to a magical place. Teaming up with Jennifer Skully to write the Maverick series was ingenious. Harper and Will’s story was enchanting and filled with love, but Sebastian and Charlie really pulled me in. I was awed and inspired by the woman that they wrote and the love that just flew off the pages.

I really loved Charlie and her dedication to her mom, her art and to herself. When she sees Sebastian for the first time, she’s stunned and intrigued. She knows who he is but can’t wrap her mind around how he sees her or her sculptures. Magnificent isn’t a word that she would describe her “garden” or the elephant or her junk pile. But, this was her way out and up, on her terms. She’ll finally could take care of her mother the way she deserves and maybe even get to know the man that has her head spinning.

Love is a word that is not in Sebastian’s vocabulary. Even though he’s seen true love at its finest with Bob and Susan, he’ll never trust himself to love again. It’s toxic, it’s hurtful and it’s definitely not for him. But, there is something about the quirky artist that just draws him in. She’s beautiful, sexy, and smart and the cutest thing he has ever seen in her welders mask and apron. There is no one that he more to do the sculpture or in his bed.

As Sebastian learns about Charlie, her mother and her imagination, he can’t help but try to help her, try to give her everything that she and her mom deserves…make her a star in the art world. But, as they start moving forward with their relationship, secrets come out and Sebastian messes up only to find out just how forgiving love can be.

Here’s a man that has everything, has the world on a string and he can’t move on from his childhood. He doesn’t know how to take his own advice and falls into micromanaging this wonderfully independent woman. His story was extremely depressing and uplifting at the same time. Charlie was just unbelievable throughout the story … she was a true inspiration to all woman. She not only knew how to get through to Sebastian but she also saw a side to him that even he refused to acknowledge … the little boy lost. But what got me most was how she stuck by him, how she fought for him and made him see his true abilities, made him finally believe in himself.

There really is no way to express how much I look forward to reading Bella Andre. Whether she is writing as herself, Lucy Kevin or collaborating with another author, I absolutely love the stories that are told. And, I have to hand it to Jennifer Skully. You really cannot tell who wrote what in the book. The whole story is seamless so you never know where one author began and another picked up. They always kept the story moving, they wrote characters that were interesting and fun. The romance level was off the charts and the love they had for each other was written with such style. I am definitely waiting for the next book in the Maverick series and it looks like it’s going to be Matt’s turn. Hopefully we will get rid of Whitney in this one and give Evan a true happily-ever-after.

Reckless in Love by Bella Andre
Rating: 3.5 stars

Reckless in Love follows the love story of Sebastian, a successful self-help guru, and Charlie, the artist he hires to build a sculpture for his building.

I liked that our hero, Sebastian, was not a manwhore before meeting Charlie. I'm tired of romance heroes who have screwed their way through half the female population. I also liked that Sebastian is 100% loyal to Charlie. Similarly, Charlie is only interested in Sebastian.

Unfortunately, this book feels like it has almost no plot. What little conflict there is occurs because the heroine, Charlie, keeps making assumptions about Sebastian. By the time she actually communicates her fears and concerns to him, they both realize that all they had to do was talk it out.

Sebastian is a billionaire who went to Charlie , an artist, to commission a sculpture for one of his building.

The story went far too fast for my liking. I can get behind lust at first sight, but the love, I-will-do-anything-for-you, at first sight that was going on here was too much. By 20% of the book, he was sure she was the one, while she was introducing him to her mother and wanting only his touch. But then they still played the "soon" game, that would have been cute if everything else wasn't going at light speed.

Plus Sebastian affection toward his own artistic talent felt out of character for the strong decisive man he was presented as, and was almost reminescent of what I didn't like in the first book of the series: a grown man with a penchant for self pity.

A really good romance, but what I found most interesting is how it addressed the problems involved in growing up with alcoholic parents. Sebastian has spent his life trying to help people since he was never able to help his parents. He has made a career out of telling people how to live a 'better' life. Then he meets Charlie. She's an artist and won't follow his dictates. She considers herself to be very independent.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

I absolutely adored listening to the first book in the Maverick Billionaires series, so this standalone sequel was an audiobook I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. Eva Kaminsky is one of my favorite narrators, and Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully have already proven that their writing meshes perfectly well together in Breathless in Love. And thankfully, I wasn’t let down – Reckless in Love is another sweet, charming love story from these two authors! If you love romance audiobooks, I highly recommend this one!

Sebastian Montgomery is a self-made billionaire, but all the money in the world can’t make up for the scars from his childhood and his need to be a perfectionist. But then he meets Charlie Ballard, a gifted and gorgeous artist who captivates him and shows him that he’s capable of love. The rich man that he is, Sebastian whisks her away on a fairy-tale ride, wanting to provide for her in all things. Charlie herself is a total sweetheart who’s full of passion and independence and spirit, but is also a little broken inside. She has a hard time accepting Sebastian’s help, since she’s been dealing with her problems on her own for so long, but it’s hard to resist the sexy, charming man.

Once again, Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully deliver a fantastic, heartfelt, light-hearted romance that Eva Kaminsky narrates perfectly. Charlie and Sebastian’s story was a delight to listen to – seriously, this book was so sweet! I loved the way the romance developed between these two characters and how they complemented each other so well. They’re both a little broken, but when they’re together, everything is perfect. They support each other just as much as they love each other. If you’re a fan of audiobooks, Reckless in Love is a must listen – I loved it!

I really enjoyed getting to know the guys in The Maverick Group from the first book in this series, Breathless in Love , and I couldn’t wait to read more. Reckless in Love by Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully is the second book in the Maverick Billionaire series and I liked it even more than the first.

Reckless in Love follows Sebastian Montgomery, who is a media mogul, and gives motivational talks and such. And he’s building a new headquarters for The Maverick Group. When he sees Charlie’s sculpture, he knows she’s just the person to build a sculpture for the new HQ.

Sebastian is a perfectionist. He’s a major perfectionist, particularly when it comes to himself. This was so easy for me to relate to, because I am that way too. I could understand how he feels, and relate to issues he has because of it. But Sebastian is also just the nicest guy, and I loved him wholeheartedly.

Charlie is one unique lady, but I loved her straight away. She’s really comfortable with who she is. She loves to wear comfortable clothes, and work on her art (which is making these sculptures out of found metal objects), and teach at the community college. Charlie is just so loveable. But she does have some worries, particularly making sure her mother (who is quite ill) is taken care of. I love how much Charlie loves her mother, and how close she is to her mom.

There is some serious chemistry between Charlie and Sebastian, and they both admit it right away. But Charlie is a little apprehensive since Sebastian has just hired her, and Sebastian doesn’t want to push Charlie at all. Seriously, I loved that about Sebastian. He totally respects Charlie, and waits until she is completely sure of his motives.

Sebastian’s need for perfection definitely causes issues in Charlie and Sebastian’s relationship, but not because he was expecting Charlie to be perfect, but because he was expecting himself to be perfect. Luckily they are able to work through it.

Reckless in Love left me wanting the next book in this series so much, and I absolutely HATE having to wait for it. Like seriously, why isn’t it out yet? Because I need it! Reckless in Love is perfect for contemporary romance fans. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

I liked how these two met, that it was through Charlie's art that Sebastian became smitten with her. I loved that Sebastian helped Charlie realize her art was more than just for her, that others would be enthralled with it as well. While Sebastian opened up a whole new world for her, I didn't like how Charlie was changing, it seemed like she was conforming to what Sebastian thought she should be with her art. Granted Charlie had a good reason for this, one other than because she was starting to fall for Sebastian, but her mother and the expensive care she required. I was glad that at the end Charlie realized what was important to her, that she found a way to tell Sebastian and that they both realized they could find a way to make everything they want happen.

On a side note, I loved the relationship that Sebastian built with Charlie's mother. He so wanted to help her and when he couldn't it seemed like he was devastated. Once he realized that Francine more valued his company and that he wanted to help her that seemed to settle something in him.

Great series! Sebastian and Charlie's chemistry is explosive and they really heat up the pages!

He's a sexy billionaire, and motivational speaker who has an overwhelming compulsion to "fix" everything. Charlie is a beautiful, down to earth, "go-with-the-flow" talented sculptor.

Can they merge their worlds or will the collision implode everything around them?

DNFed at 25 %.

Not my cuppa.

Instalove ain't gonna work for me. Ever.
My mind is wired differently.

He saw her and that was IT for him.
Sadly, for me too.

The heroine didn't help either frankly speaking.
At their first encounter she already planned she was gonna jump into bed with him after the exhibition is done. Because you know, she thought that wouldn't be professional if she bumped uglies with him right after he gave her a cheque for a hundred grand for her art.
These two seemed to be hot for each other like two jalapenos right from the start.

I, however, seriously didn't feel any connection or chemistry between them. Hence the dnf.

The second instalment in the Billionaires series, follows Sebastian as he meets and falls for Charlie an artist who welds beautiful animals from scrap metal.
It was nice to enter back into the billionaire world, I didn't quite enjoy this one as much as the first in the series, but I shall be looking out for the next instalment.

**I received an electronic copy of Restless in Love from the authors in exchange for an honest review.

To be completely honest, Reckless in Love started off a little rocky for me. While I loved Charlie and Sebastian’s first meeting, there was something that bugged me a little bit. It was Sebastian’s thoughts. His insta-love for Charlie kind of weirded me out for a minute. Actually, insta-love isn’t the best way to describe it. He knew he wasn’t in love with her yet. It was more like an insta-I-think-this-is-the-woman-I-could-fall-in-love-with-just-from-seeing-her-once thing. I just wanted to shout, “You don’t even know her! She could be crazy!” at him. But I know it’s a romance novel and things usually move quickly for characters, so it didn’t bother me enough to ruin the story.

From there on, I truly enjoyed reading Reckless in Love. It was a sweet love story filled with real life relationship issues. Both Sebastian and Charlie doubted themselves a lot.

Despite being a billionaire, Sebastian had a lot of past hurt he was dealing with. It affected all of his decisions — especially ones he made about or for Charlie. Poor Charlie knew she was falling for Sebastian but she wasn’t sure if she was enough or if she could be the person he wanted.

I found these parts of the storyline very refreshing and real. I think most people have moments in relationships where they doubt themselves or wonder if they’re enough for the person they love. It was fulfilling to watch them really get to know each other and grow from what they learned about themselves and each other.

Reckless in Love was also filled with gorgeous descriptions. The authors described Charlie and Sebastian’s artwork so thoroughly that I could imagine exactly what it looked like.

If you’re looking for a sweet billionaire love story, this Reckless in Love is for you.

Reckless in Love is a great addition to the Maverick Billionaires series. It is artistically filled with beautiful descriptions, emotional connections and a fantastic love story. The emotions portrayed were real and connected with me on multiple levels. It has a great message of having to find yourself before you can give yourself fully to another. Though this is a part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone.

In this story you will meet Sebastian and Charlie. On the outside, they could not be more different. One a motivational speaker, who has made billions helping others find their success and the other an artist, who teaches at a local community college. One likes high-society galas where connections are made for future business ventures, while the other would like nothing more than to savage junk yards and estate sales for hidden treasures.

As they come together, they also find each are strong, compassionate, independent individuals who have a strong passion for life. Their chemistry and connections, sense of purpose as well as guarded hearts grab a hold of the reader's heartstrings and so not let go. I really we joked reading this book. There were many times I laughed out loud, cried and felt every emotion right along with each character as they went through their trials and tribulations of the story. I cannot wait to read the next book in the Maverick Billionaires Series!
