Mix a witch with a shifter, add her magickal parents, and a demon demanding fulfillment of an ancient bargain....and you get a son willing to fight for his mother’s life. He risks it all to save her and makes his own bargain with the devil that will last a lifetime.
Pebble Cove is a magickal community where witches and shifter protect each other. Set on the southern coast of Oregon, three small towns are home to those who live peaceful lives, until evil weaves its way into the woods and threatens their very existence.
Makenzie Scott bought an old bookstore there after her divorce so that she and her son, Logan, could move on with their lives. When she accidentally learns about her abilities, there are more layers to her past than she could have realized. An ancient deal with a demon becomes a burden that her son will also learn to deal with.
A shifter soon finds out that he isn’t the only one craving Makenzie for his own, and Nate puts his life in jeopardy to defeat a powerful demon. Can he keep her safe from a centuries-old bargain she had nothing to do with?

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Coastal Midlife MayHem is one of those books that jumps straight into trouble and does not slow down much. It blends midlife chaos with magic and family secrets and drops it all into a coastal town that feels closed off and uneasy. The idea of starting over after a divorce while discovering hidden abilities works well. The small town atmosphere carries that feeling that everyone knows something, but nobody is saying enough.

Makenzie is easy to connect with because she is just trying to protect her child and rebuild her life while everything around her keeps getting more dangerous. Her son Logan is one of the strongest parts of the story. When the danger ramps up, his loyalty and courage add real emotional weight. Their relationship feels genuine and gives the story its heart. The ancient bargains raise the stakes, but at times they feel a little heavy and clutter the middle of the book.

The magical community itself is interesting, but there is a lot happening all at once. Witches, shifters, demons, old deals, and romance all compete for attention. Nate is a solid character and the danger feels real, but the story could have benefited from slowing down and giving certain moments more space to breathe.

Overall, this is a decent paranormal read with a strong emotional core and an engaging setup. It is not flawless, but it kept me reading and curious about how everything would turn out. With tighter pacing and a bit more focus, it could be even better.

I give it a 3 outta 5 catfish!

This book fits well into the fantasy-paranormal books with the amount of witches and shifters who live in a magickal community on the southern coast of Oregon. The setting made me feel like I was right in the story with all of the characters. The town has paranormal names for the local shops and restaurants that are fun.

The main character has a familiar that is a ferret named Gibbs, and his personality fits into the story so well. I enjoyed meeting the many characters and no, there aren't too many to keep track of. They each help move the plot along and set up the story for future books.

There is a killer on the loose and the bodies they find are missing organs, but why? I assume this plot line will be threaded through future books. I look forward to the next on in April 2025!

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and kept reading until the end. It had me hooked from the very first page. It was so full of adventure that I forgot I was reading and felt like I was in the book. The story was easy to follow, had good pacing and a great cast of characters. A brilliant novel that I highly recommend to other readers. I look forward to reading more by the author.

I was recommended this book by Voracious Readers Only.

This was for sure an interesting read.

We find ourselves in Pebble Cove, a quaint magical community where witches and shifters reside. We follow our resident supernaturals as they struggle to deal with the series of events that hound their small patch of paradise while making personal discoveries and choices.

I enjoyed the plot and drama. Thrre is quite a bit going on and i was able to keep pace quite well. The character development is a good start but it fell flat a bit with the females. It didn't seem like our resident witches were the age stated and some decisions, actions or statements felt younger then they were.

All in all a good book. Will pick up the next one to see where it takes us.

This book has a lot going on. There’s witches, shifters, demons, magic, danger, bikers oh and a serial killer who’s harvesting organs for money. Wow! I think there’s some areas that are confusing and leaves me with questions but I feel like this book is setting up for a potentially great series. I liked it and look forward to reading the next one.

Okay, so Coastal Midlife Mayhem by Brandi Wilde? Didn't see that coming! It was my first book by her, and I was hooked super fast. It’s about Morgan Scott, a divorced mom who moves to the Oregon coast for some chill. But instead, she lands right in some magical crazy stuff. Turns out she's a witch involved in some super old demon agreement and it just gets crazier.
I really liked how it mixes a nice, comfy coastal setting with total paranormal craziness. Brandi Wilde really brings that small seaside town to life I could almost smell the ocean and feel the magic going on. All the witches, shifters, and family secrets kept me reading, and I definitely had some gasp out loud (and laugh out loud) times.

Morgan was the best part. She's in her forties, getting her life back together, and getting strong in ways that feel real. It’s great to see an older main character come into her magic instead of just being in the background. The love stuff and the danger are a good mix, but I did want a bit more feeling sometimes.
Basically, Coastal Midlife Mayhem is a fun, comfy-but-exciting book, it has lots of surprises, attitude, and magic. It’s a great pick if you like paranormal stories about women figuring things out, with some heart and a little bit of chaos.

A fun, magical getaway that could be even better. It was my first Brandi Wilde book, and I am really interested to see what she does next🥞

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Available for order now. . . and on sale today!! Don't sleep on this one! You know it's a good book when you have pages of notes for a review.
Condensed version: "Goddess it's a good book!" If you like books with mystery, murder, magic, witches, shifters, demons, family, friendships, and sweet romance with just the right amount of spice, you're going to love this one!

A couple of my favorite quotes:

"All because of you, you've brought sunshine into my life. . . "

"I want to remember every inch of your body, but my wolf wants you now"

If you could have a magical ability, what would it be?

A couple in the book were teleporting and healing.

The next book in the series is also out. . . and YES I'll be reading that this month!!

And then book 3 will be coming. Coastal Midlife Potions!!!

I absolutely loved this story, it’s a perfect blend of magic, danger, and heart. The world of Pebble Cove feels so real and full of life, with witches, shifters, and secrets hidden around every corner. Makenzie’s journey from heartbreak to discovering her true power kept me hooked, and Logan’s love and bravery for his mother were so moving.

The mix of family bonds, ancient curses, and romance made this a truly captivating read. If you enjoy stories about magic, courage, and love that defies darkness, this book is a must-read!

What an incredible read! Brandi Wilde pulled me straight into Pebble Cove’s world—a place full of witches, shifters, and secrets that feel so real you can almost smell the ocean air. Morgan’s strength and her son Logan’s loyalty gave the story such heart, and the tension with Nate (and that demon!) kept me turning pages late into the night.

Beautifully written, full of twists, magic, and emotion—this book had everything I love. Brandi Wilde is officially on my auto-read list!

Enjoyable

A fun collection of characters, Cutesy and somewhat predictable but still worth the read. Beware, story doesn't end here.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
