Stolen by the Berserker by Asa Maria Bradley
Paranormal romance novella. Canada be read as a stand-alone.
Immortal Viking Sten Agnarsson is on a trip to buy weapons in Montana so the Vikings faked legal documents aren’t scrutinized as closely as they would be Washington state. The Vikings are mostly over 1000 years old and prefer their blades but those don’t always work in the modern world.
Cassie inherited her Grandmother’s old cabin and ancient truck in White Spruce, Montana. She’s selling the land but in the meantime working at a local diner to cover living expenses before going back to college.
Sten recognizes Cassie from a prior trip to White Spruce and the diner. He really appreciates her laugh and curves. When his car breaks down and Cassie offers him a place to stay, both their lives change.

The Berserker goes off the rails. A sexy and quick instalove story. Plenty of twists that bring the two together.

Stolen By The Berserker by Asa Maria Bradley is a novella, packed with action. An immortal Viking, Sten, enters Cassie’s life and nothing will ever be the same. The action is non stop, as is the danger they face. We may have insta love, but that fits the story and I’m good with it. Stolen By the Berserker by Asa Maria Bradley may be short, but it was very engaging.

Berserker Sten is cooling his heels in Montana, awaiting an arms dealer who’s agreed to sell the Vikings some weapons. As he interacts with the curvy waitress serving him huckleberry pie, his inner berserker alerts when their fingers brush.

Eager to close the sale of her beloved grandmother’s home and begin classes in Washington state, Cassie recognizes the gorgeous customer from the last time he passed through her small town. This time, however, she can’t deny that there’s more than just an appreciation for his good looks: she’s into him big time, so she backs away. When she finds him broken down on her route home with a flat and an unusable spare, she invites him back to her place to use the landline.

Sten suspects he’s found his fated mate in Cassie, and after a roadside rescue turns into a night of passion, he’s certain of it. Duty comes first, however, and when the arms deal ends with an attack by Loki’s Wolverine abominations, he has a moment of doubt in which he accuses Cassie of betraying him. An angry and hurt Cassie tells him off and he leaves.

Several weeks later, enrolled at Eastern Washington University, Cassie arrives at her dorm to find an apologetic, groveling Sten on her doorstep.

Will Cassie give Sten a second chance? Or will Sten become lost to his berserker if Cassie rejects him and ultimately destroyed to protect his fellow warriors?

I was lucky to have received an advance reader copy from the author and bookfunnel, and I’m pleased to leave my honest review.

Good grief, why do these Norse Berserker stories just flip all my switches? 🔥 Bradley does it again, in short form this time. She tells a story that is engaging from the jump, and even in its Fated Mates glory, creates a believable framework of how it happens in that world. I'm a fan and will continue to be one for this writer and these stories. 💖

I really enjoyed arc reading a cope of this fast paced, spicy, forced proximity fated mate novella.

This is now the 2nd books I've arc read for the author and I wasn't disappointed at all!

I found this very quick and easy to read possible as I've already read some of the norse protectors series. This is the second I've read in the fated to my captor series and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading more by this author!

Stolen by the Berserker is part of the Fated to my Captor series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, forced-proximity, paranormal, fated mates, curvy girl gets her hunky Viking Berserker romance Cassie is a sassy and curvy waitress. Sten is a hunky, immortal Viking-Berserker. When he meets Cassie, he is drawn to her as she is to him. When he ends up with a flat tire, they spend a hot and steamy night at her cabin. But when danger comes knocking, can he keep her safe? And will she forgive him when incorrect assumptions are made? This couple had insanely hot chemistry, and we got a very happy ending after the drama was resolved. I loved it.

This is a short quick Gods and goddesses love story. I honestly thought it was so cute. It literally only took me an hour to read because of how short it is but she puts so much detail into it that you don't even notice. I honestly love reading Cassie and Sten story. I won't say too much since I don't want to spoil anything. But it is about Loki's monsters, Valkyrie, and Vikings. You guys should give this book a read. It is a standalone to her Norse Warrior Protectors series. But I feel like it's still fits.

Very happy to have received an advanced reader copy for this novella.

This fast paced short story was a satisfying read. A stand alone which is set in the author's Norse warrior protectors series.
Having not long read the first book in the series I was excited to see the MMC in this was the lovely Sten.

Some of my favourite tropes are covered including; fated mates, mythology and forced proximity.

This is the second story from the Fated to my captor series, both have been great and I plan to read the rest once available.

I read this as an ARC reader. I loved this book. The spice level is *chefs kiss*. It's fast paced which I like. I do wish it was longer. I would have loved to hear more about the FMC life (a little more background) and the MMC life as well. It was an easy read, but the German words that were in the book were a little hard to read and to remember what they all meant.

The prose was very bland and the plot didn’t have much to say. A lot of the MMC’s dialogue was so midwestern-casual sounding that I just couldn’t imagine a man saying it in a Swedish accent. This is the type of book that if your best friend wrote it, you’d be like, “great, hon, you finished it! … keep reading and improving your craft!” But as a published work? Nah.

Let’s be real: novellas aren’t usually my thing. They tend to feel like someone crammed a full-length story into a thimble and hoped for the best. Stolen By The Berserker is no exception—it’s rushed, no way around it—but the writing itself? Surprisingly solid.

The story kicks off with a bang (literally and figuratively), and while the plot barely has room to breathe, the sexual tension between Cassie and Sten is chef’s kiss. It’s intense, believable, and doesn’t feel forced, which is a small miracle given how fast everything moves. Cassie’s got sass and backbone, and Sten’s your typical broody immortal Viking with a soulmark and a tragic backstory. It’s a lot—but it works, mostly because the chemistry between them is so strong it practically sets the page on fire.

That said, the pacing is a mess. There’s action, mythology, romance, and emotional trauma all packed into a hundred-ish pages, and it’s hard not to feel like we’re sprinting through scenes that deserved more depth. The Norse elements are cool, and I liked the soulmark concept, but they’re more flavor than substance. I wanted more time to sit with the characters, to let their bond simmer instead of boil over in two seconds flat.

Still, if you’re looking for a quick, steamy read with a mythic twist and don’t mind sacrificing a little plot development for the sake of vibes, this one delivers. It’s not going to haunt me, but it didn’t annoy me either—and for a novella, that’s saying something.

Would I read more in the series? Maybe. If the next one slows down long enough to let the emotional beats land, I’m in.

Finding His Soulmate . . .

Sten, an Asgard warrior, has returned to Montana to conduct weapons business for the Vikings, but his contact never showed up. Cassie, a waitress at the diner, has seen this handsome man here previously. When she drives home after her shift ends later, her high beams illuminate an SUV broken down on the side of the road. She stops and calls out as the Swedish guy from the diner stepped out. With both his tire and spare flat, and no signal for his cell phone, Cassie invites him home. When sparks erupt at their first touch, they end up enjoying each other’s company as Sten realizes he may have actually just met his soulmate. Seeing a mark show up later on his wrist, he recognized the serpent’s tail tattoo that meant his Berserker had claimed Cassie! If they don’t complete their bond, he will lose control, go into battle fury, and have to be destroyed. However, he is still trying to complete his meeting with Johnson before anything else. As they finished their deal, one of Loki’s evil creatures, a wolverine, attacked them. With the humans unconscious, Sten defeated the creature. Someone must have told the wolverine about this deal, and he wondered whether Cassie had betrayed him since she had access to his phone a few times and could have seen his messages. Will he be able to hold back his increasingly violent nature without the final bonding with her? Or will he realize his mistake and try to apologize for accusing her? And what will he do if she does not accept that apology?

This was the first book of this type I have read, so I am still pondering it. I liked the book, and the love story between Cassie and Sten. The action was good, and the storyline was original (to me), and fascinating. I did feel like something was missing though, almost like there should be future books, even though this was a standalone with no cliffhanger. If there are future books, I will be first in line to read them.
This book made me curious about the realm between mortals on Earth and characters from Norse Mythology. In other words, it caught my interest and made me think! Usually when I read a book, I finish it, enjoy the pleasure I received from the story, then immediately begin my next book.
I really appreciated that the author took the time to provide a detailed explanation of the type of book this is, as well as a wonderful glossary which contained words from this book as well as other books the author has written. It peaked my interest in Norse Mythology even more.
My recommendation for this book would be to read it, even if it isn’t your typical read. I am glad I went outside of my typical instalove romance books to read this one.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Sten is a Berserker and currently in Montana waiting for the deal to happen. When Cassie, the diner’s waitress, serves him pie he fells something. Cassie recognised him form another time when he was passing her little town. Later, after her shift she finds him broken down on her way to home and invited him back to her place to use a landline. After one incredible night, Sten is certain that Cassie is his mate.

After some trouble with his deal, everything goes upside down with them. His own fault. But of course he’s determined to right his wrong and grovel. I liked how Cassie stood her ground. I loved their chemistry and passion. They were literally made for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a forced proximity, he falls first, fated mates romance then you’re going to love it.

Stolen by the Berserker is part of the Fated to My Captor series. Stolen by the Berserker is the compelling story of Cassie and Sten. When I first read the blurb for Stolen by the Berserker, my attention was captured right away and I knew that I had to get my “hands” on this book. And to say the least this book did NOT disappoint me in anyway whatsoever. The storyline was beautifully written, executed flawlessly, and perfectly balanced. The characters were quite entertaining, enjoyable to watch their love story unfold, intriguing/interesting, and well-developed. Stolen by the Berserker is an ease to read, a definite page-turner, has wonderful characters, action-packed, romantic/steamy, and a happily ever after for the amazing couple. This is a book that would definitely be a recommended book for anyone to read. I’m looking forward to reading more books written by this amazing author.

I really don’t know what to say. Very short. Steamy. Viking warrior who finds his mate.
Sten is a Viking Warrior and is in Montana to do an arms deal. He is eating at a little diner that a beautiful woman works at. This is his second time visiting because of the waitress. His contact changes the time and Sten has to find a hotel. Cassie is working at the diner until she saves money to go to college. She lives in her grandmother’s house, that she inherited. On her way home, a black SUV is blocking her driveway. It’s the handsome blonde, Sten. She invites him in and they spend a wild night together. Loki’s wolverines are after Sten and he believes Cassie set him up. But when Cassie dreams of Freya and brings a knife back, Sten knows she is innocent. One month later, Cassie is living in a dorm on the college campus. Sten shows up and tells her she’s his mate but she will not give up her college education.

Stolen by the Berserker is a short but fun read from the Norse Protectors world. Although this is a novella and a very quick read, you still get the chance to immerse yourself in this fascinating world.
Cassie has been saving for college and is determined not to get distracted from her goal by a man, unfortunately, when she meets Sten it soon becomes clear that there's little she can do to avoid the attraction between them.
I loved seeing them come together and become a couple. It would have been good to get a little bit more as this was a fast coming together and realisation that they were meant to be together. Sometimes that's what you want though and this worked really well. I thought they made a fantastic couple and I'm glad that I got to join them on their journey. I really do enjoy these Norse Protectors books and I'm looking forward to reading more.

He's an immortal Viking warrior who's in town for a weapons deal that's quasi-legal. She is a server at the café. Fate throws them together for what they think will be a one night stand. But they each feel a deeper connection. Then Loki and Freya get involved. Their one night together changes their lives.

I love Asa Maria Bradley's books and this one's no exception. This is a novella that's well-written with wonderful characters. I was drawn into the captivating story and kept hooked from beginning to end. There's intrigue, some suspense, and romance with a happily ever after. I haven't read the other books in the series but that didn't make a difference and after reading this one, I am definitely intrigued and curious. I highly recommend this fantastic story.

“It wasn’t just the berserker that wanted her. Sten, the man, needed Cassie. Needed her like he needed his next breath.”

Sten is one of a group of immortal Vikings sent from Asgard to protect the earth from genetic wolverine-human hybrids created by Loki. He has a Berserker spirit but never thought he could find a mate. While out of town, Sten goes back to a diner he went to previously just to see Cassie, who is a waitress there. They can’t fight their mutual attraction and Cassie has hidden kick butt Valkyrie tendencies both in and out of bed.
You think you are in for a steamy romance but then the action kicks in. Can they stay together?

This book is so hot, you’re gonna need a fan! This is a fast paced, exciting, sexy romance. Sten is back in his favorite little restaurant having huckleberry pie and staring at Cassie. A few coincidences and a flat tire later Sten ends up staying with Cassie overnight. His Beserker knows it’s true mate when he sees her but Cassie and Sten both do their best to ignore him. Cassie is determined to go to college and Sten has to head back home. Fate has other ideas. This book burns up the pages in this amazing short story. I loved the characters and the storyline. I received an ARC of this book and am happily leaving this review.

This was such a fun and easy read that I gobbled it up in no time

Sten and Cassie's story is one of fated mates, but they are thrown together by a series of unfortunate events including a failed meeting, two flat tires and a full hotel thanks to a crowd of "sewing ladies" being in town (snort laugh)

I loved the Berserker element which is not encountered so often and I loved how the tattoo element was worked into the story - read to find out more! I also adore Sten's nickname for Cassie!

For a story under a 100 pages, it had loads of action, Norse mythology and sexy scenes.
The HEA is so sweet that it had a "aaaaaw" moment

Stolen by the Berserker is a standalone paranormal romance by Asa Maria Bradley, and is part of the multiauthor series Fated to My Captor. This is a fated mates type of story, between an immortal Viking warrior and the human who works as a server at a small town diner. This story is high action and high spice.

While the characters didn't quite grab me as much as I had hoped, this was still a fun story to read (the reason for the 3/5 star review). While I enjoyed the chemistry between Sten and Cassie, I just don't think that I got to know them well enough.

A spicy quick read with a relatable heroine, this story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.
Sten, our berserker, is on a work trip and makes a return visit to a diner and the woman he can’t stop thinking about. Cassie definitely feels the intense attraction between them too, but she’s not about to derail her dreams of going to college again for any man!
Stolen by the Berserker is a thoroughly enjoyable, fated mates novella that can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to do that?

A novella set in the Norse Warrior Protector series, it follows Beserker warrior Sten, sent on a mission by his king to a little town in Montana. While there, he runs into a sweet temptation of a waitress. Surely one night together to kill some time would be fine?

What started as a simple arms pickup turns into betrayal, attacks from were-creatures and the little hiccup of finding his själsfrände; his one true mate.

This was a great quick read and entry into the series. My only gripe is that it was too short and I need more!

I was on the edge she of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down truly enjoyed it. These characters chemistry and physical attraction was sizzling and spicy of hotness. It was so much intense of passion, pain, and emotion in this moment. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. Sten is an immortal Viking. He, and his unit serve to protect the immortals from Loki. He meets Cassie in a diner. His Berserker monster claims that she is his. Due to a flat tire, he winds up at Cassie's cottage. They both feel the electric, sexual attraction. Sten realizes that they are fated mates. Will Cassie believe him? Will she accept him? I enjoyed reading this story! The storyline flowed well. The characters are likeable, and realistic. There is a hea.

His Berserker claimed her before he realized what she was to him!

I received this book as an ARC:

This is a cute quick story about a berserker viking and his curvy fated mate. I would have liked a little more character development with both the MMC and the FMC but for a quick read the story flowed and the relationship evolved as I expected. I am going to go back and read more books from the Norse Warrior Protectors series by this author as this found family seems interesting to get into.
