𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐬 The journey hasn't been easy, but I've made it. Things are finally looking up after a year of rebuilding. I left my abusive ex to start a new life and a business with my best friend, Cassie, in the small town of Willow Hill. Things are mostly quiet here, although my work as a boudoir photographer hasn't gone unnoticed. Neither has my very new relationship with Cole Wolfe, the cute bakery owner. They say that I'm a sinful woman for the photos I take and they don't understand my involvement with the Wolfe Creek Four—Cole, Damian, Sutton, and Wesley. If that wasn’t enough, Gavin comes looking for me. He insists that I give him a second chance and he’s not taking no for an answer. I think he might do just about anything to ruin the new life I’ve created.
𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 The pact is clear; we share everything—our businesses, our finances, our secrets, and our women. A bond forged between four brothers in our youth that transcends blood. But when Cole brings Thea Griffin home, we couldn't have imagined what she'd do to us. No woman has ever stirred up these feelings so quickly. And when she needs our help and protection from the ex who's hellbent on destroying everything she's built, there is no question that we will take any life that threatens hers or lay down our own if necessary.
𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 She was meant for me and me alone. Thea can't see that right now, but I know her better than she knows herself. I've watched her build this fragile sanctuary that she thinks is indestructible. She has no idea that I'll be the undoing of it all. I'll make Thea see I'm all she needs in this life as I slowly break her, even if that means getting rid of the men who have vowed to protect her.
I absolute LOVED this book! I was hooked by the first chapter. The character development was very well done. Not overly spicy- just right. I loved the plot and the plot twists were great!
I'm trying really hard not to write this with spoilers because I want everyone else to experience exactly what I just did!
I have been blazing my way through this story, addicted, completely immersed. Not once, EVER, through its 600-something pages, did I expect it to turn like this. This plot is so smart. It's all leading there when you think back, but there's no way anyone will ever expect it coming. I guarantee it.
Our leading lady, Thea, is a strong character who has been through it. She moves to open a photography studio with her best friend and meets Cole, sexy baker, one of the Wolfe Creek four. These four friends, Cole, Sutton, Damien, and Wesley, who are just like brothers, are a pack with a pact, and they share everything, even women. This book took me on a roller coaster ride. I utterly loved this story. The world building, the development of the characters and slow building of the relationships, the drama, the angst.. there are so many secrets, and it all kept me completely engrossed from page one until the last. Each character brings something so different, and yet they all fit like peices of a puzzle. The writing was done beautifully. There was so much to unfold. The steamy scenes in this were on fire! It was all so delectably delicious!
Where the fudge do we go from here? I have a million possibilities running through my head, but after that storyline tornado, I know I'll never guess.. and that was just the ending twist. There was still an epilogue and then a bonus epilogue that revealed something new coming, and I'm already so ready to sink my teeth into it. Helena Sage, where did you come from? You have smashed it with this amazing debut, and I'm so excited to see what you do next x
Well that took me on the biggest journey of ups and downs, and now I’m left in a chokehold waiting for the sequel! Ahhhh Helena Sage - what a way to make a name for yourself - LOVED every second of The Pact. For quite a chonky size novel (600+ pages), I devoured it in two days (only because my body gave in to the pulls of sleep)! The Wolfe brothers are dark, dangerous, protective and as stormy as they come, and it won’t be an easy feat for Thea to break down their walls and find where she belongs with any one of them, let alone as one of the Wolfe pack. There were times I wanted to shake Thea by the shoulders and tell her to open up, but then the understanding side of me took in not just her present, but also her rocky past, and I understood her thoughts and actions. And those boys, well moody men at first glance - Cole, Sutton, Wesley and Damian - they have so many layers that just when I thought I knew what was going on, another twist and turn had me feeling a rollercoaster of emotions! And…. What. A. Cliffhanger! Oh Em Geeeeee. I’m counting down the days for the duet. Story 5 ⭐️ Spice 5 🌶️
I read this book as an ARC reader. It is so good! Thea, the FMC, is engaging without being unrealistic. She has her own problems, and her motivations actually make sense. The male MC’s are interesting and again, not unrealistic.
For the genre, it doesn’t rely on overly used cliches and tropes. The characters are well developed. They’re humans who make human decisions. The romance/spice is well written, and it’s not the only plot point, there is a well-written story. The story draws you in, and there’s a cliff hanger of an ending that will keep you eagerly awaiting book 2! If you’re a fan of RH, you’re going to really enjoy this book.
This is by far one of the best romance books I’ve had the chance to read. The twists from start to finish were not at all what I expected and weren’t predictable. The spice continually increased throughout the book and kept getting hotter and hotter. And those CLIFFHANGERS?!?! Let’s just say I’m beyond excited that there’s a second book coming!!!
This ended up being a total rage read for me. My review is for the Duet, not just book 1. The only reason I ended up reading both books was because of the epic twist I did not see coming. Normally I always guess the hidden twists, but this was a total surprise and honestly, it redeemed the book for me and kept me reading.
I'm going to give complete spoilers for the duet, because I hate going into a book blind and it was impossible to find spoilers for this book anywhere. So this is for you, if you are like me and need to know what's going on before you start the book!
** SPOILERS BEGIN** Thea moves to a new town to be with her best friend, get away from her ex who was emotionally abusive (and one instance of grabbing her arm too hard after they broke up) and get away from her emotionally abusive/neglectful parents. She meets Cole, the owner of the local bakery, and starts dating him. He takes her to meet his chosen "brothers" at the house where they all live together. After a few dates, they tell Thea that they have a Pact where they are all going to be with the same woman, so she can either be with all of them or none of them. She decides to be with all of them. At the same time she has started to receive some messages from her ex who has decided he wants to get back together with her. She meets up with him secretly and tells him to get lost. He refuses to give up. She continues to receive messages from him and the messages make it seem like he is stalking her and watching her. Someone starts to mess with her business by changing client meetings in her calendar so she misses the meeting, someone breaks into the business, someone messes with her car so it won't start, and someone floods her apartment, etc. It all points to her ex. She is still trying to hide most of this from her new BFs because she is used to being independent from growing up with parents who basically ignored her and because she thinks its too early in the relationship to bring drama (it has only been a couple of weeks).
In the end, it turns out that Cole had seen her before they officially met and decided he had to have her. He investigated her life, stalked her and then set it all up to meet her, date her, have her ex look like he was stalking her so she would rely on him, etc. He's totally lost the plot. His plan was that she would choose only him and demand that he leave "The Pact". When she chose to be with them all, he decided to kill his brothers so he could have her to himself. He abducts her, attempts to kill Sutton and she manages to escape, injuring Cole in the process.
In the next book, Cole is still stalking her and he has a secret way into her bedroom where he comes to spy on her in the night and leave her messages. She is hiding this from the rest of her boyfriends to protect them and save them from having to kill Cole themselves. The men sort of believe that Cole is dead since they haven't been able to find info about him.
A surprise 5th brother gets released from prison and comes home to find all this mess and she is now forced to be with this guy too, despite never having even heard of him before. He instantly hates her and blames her for Cole being out of the family. The other brothers are ready to kill Cole if they can find him.
Cole has set it up so that a cop is investigating the disappearance of her ex, who we think Cole has done something to and he's set it up so shes the prime suspect. Additionally, the brothers committed a murder previously and Cole kept evidence and planted evidence on the bodies to set up the brothers. He threatens Thea that he will kill the brothers or tell the police where the bodies are and send the brothers to jail, if she doesn't do what he says. She is still keeping everything a secret from the brothers, including that Cole is alive and stalking her, Cole has access to the house and her bedroom, a detective is investigating her as the prime suspect in her ex's disappearance, etc.
Cole ends up starting to gr*pe her at night when he sneaks into her room and wants to get her pregnant so she is stuck with him forever and so brothers won't want anything to do with her. She is using the other brothers for s*x at this point and gets them to do some really messed up things to her (basically abusing her the way Cole has) as a way of replacing the feeling of what Cole has done to her.
Things come to a head one night and Cole, the detective (who is dirty and was set on Thea by Cole), and Thea all battle it out in her room. Cole gets shot and dies. Wesley and Sutton show up. Sutton waits outside. Wesley fights with the detective to protect Thea and they knock over Christmas decorations into the fireplace and a fire starts. Wesley gets shot and dies. Sutton shoots the detective and he dies. They let the house burn to cover everything up.
Damian, Adrian, Sutton and Thea live HEA.
**SPOILERS END**
I decided before the end of the first book, that I wasn't going to read the second book. The FMC was DUMB!!!!! So freaking dumb!!! The men were all full of red flags - and not the good kind of red flags we like in our book men. She should have run a mile as soon as the red flags started popping up.
Even if I ignore the red flags, she kept lying to them about the danger she was in! I understand being independent and having issues from your childhood and past relationship, but in these circumstances, her keeping everything to herself just put everyone else in danger. Had she not kept everything to herself most of the book would not have happened and poor Wesley wouldn't have fckn died! (Don't even get me started on him dying. RAGE READ!)
The men just didn't do it for me. Cole was delicious, but some very obvious red flags were popping up, although I did not guess where that was going. Sutton was great and I loved their history. Wesley took some getting used to, but once he pulled his head out of his butt, he was good. Damian - I couldn't get on board with. He was controlling their entire lives because he was insecure. He was so busy controlling everything and trying to ensure that no one left him, that he couldn't see what was going on around him. Adrian, well maybe he would have gotten better given the chance. But we only saw him as an a**hole, as someone who could abuse her the way she wanted to try and forget about what was happening, and then magically they were together. We didn't get to see him be himself or their relationship actually develop outside of abusive s8x. I didn't like him or their relationship.
Even her bestie was a bit of a b*tch and a terrible friend in the first book. It wasn't until the second book that she started to redeem herself.
I really liked the Cole twist, even if I was disappointed that he wasn't the sweetheart he appeared to be.
If Wesley had not died and if Damian and Adrian had redeemed themselves and gotten the chance to develop a proper relationship with Thea, I wouldn't have been so disappointed with the book. Wesley dying was just the end of my patience for this book.

An exciting well written page turning why choose poly dark romance with touch-her-and-die vibes, thriller style suspense, twists and turns you won't expect, and tons of yummy spice! Multi-pov with a gradually intensifying pace and action. Sage masterfully connects you to each character and invests you in their lives while steadily blurring the lines. Loved the connection Thea has with the men and her best friend, she's relatable and realistic, while the men are swoony, moody and mysterious in their own yummy intoxicating ways. I knew there would be a twist, but it was so much better than I thought and that cliffhanger will have me impatiently waiting for book 2!
Thanks to Helena Sage for an ARC of this debut novel!
HOLY SMOKES!! This book was everything. It was dark, mysterious, sexy, nail biting. The twists of this book will have you salivating. This is a why choose dark romance, and boy does it deliver!!
I love that the main characters are in their 30s, and the author doesn’t rush the progression of the relationships! The book is long, but you don’t know it. I was completely immersed in these wolves just like Thea. Please read the trigger warnings!!!
OH MY FREAKING GOSH!!! Helena Sage you captivated me with “The Pact” Thea, FMC is a bad*ss. She’s been through some trauma, but continues to push forward. When she meets the Wolfe Creek Four her boundaries are pushed, but she finds it thrilling!! Four brothers and Thea brings a whole lot of spice. I love that the main characters are in their 30s and a bit more seasoned. The character development allows you to love each and every one of them. The plot….OMG and the cliff hanger ending. WOW! “The Pact” is a must read that will rock your world!! Thank you for the ARC Helena.
Thia book had me in a chokehold! I loved the pov of the characters and the development of the MANY relationships! I however was so mad a Thea throughout the book..like girl you are grown and not paying attention to the things around you(major ick),but my girl had a glow up on that front and kicked some a**. I can't wait for book 2 because i have so many questions
I was hesitant to read it seeing how long it was for part 1 of a duet but the description drew me in enough to give it a shot. Now I'm glad I did but its not without a few criticisms. But that could just be me.
Firstly though, I will say parts did drag a bit or were unnecessary. Not as many as I first thought considering it ended up leading to important things but I feel this could've been a little shorter.
Secondly, I'm torn with Thea as a character. I appreciate some aspects of her but then I kept getting pissed about her keeping secrets which she knew could be detrimental while getting annoyed at the guys for keeping secrets. That's a pet peeve for me when it comes to fmcs however I was willing to over look it with Thea because she had redeeming qualities.
Thirdly, the guys. God damn it the guys😂 Each of them were different from what I was expecting. When we are first introduced to Wes I was prepared for a long drawn out back and forth between him and Thea but he actually opened up much quicker than I expected and I love that for him. Damien was a nice surprise tbh, the head strong, dominant asshole esque leader done differently and by the end he was probably my favourite. Sutton was a really nice addition because he's almost like a sense of safety for Thea and for the reader knowing he's loved her for so long and come on nerdy sweet guy? Swoon.
The bit that has left me a bit bummed though is Cole. He was my favourite up until the shit hit the fan and my guy broke my heart😩 But Jesus was that plot twist done brilliantly. I genuinely believed Gavin was the heathen doing all that shit but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how he managed to pull it all off. It being Cole all along was amazing story telling but left me a little sad and confused about his character going forward. Is Cole redeemable? Or is that it for our boy? His pov chapters even fool you into believing he's all for everything after initially easing Thea into the pact. I feel like I don't want this to be it with Cole but I can't see how he can come back from this.
I will say, the final plot twist and reveal of a fifth Wolfe brother didn't shock me. As soon as the mention of Wes' tattoo was brought up I knew there was a fifth and I can't wait to meet him, I hope he's just like his big bro😏
I was only going to give this 3 stars before the final like 20% of the story and that brought it up with how well done the story telling was. However I'll only consider a 5 star if I like how the second part of the duet goes. Maybe I'm just butt hurt over Coles 180 because he legit was my favourite 😩💀
So worth the read though and I'm glad I over looked the book size👌🏻

“No one touches the things I love. No one touches Thea.”
This book had me in a chokehold! The first 75% of this book had me hooked, but the last 25% robbed me of my mind! I thought I was reading a great book with a amazing writing style, incredible story structure with an amazing plot line and spice (could’ve used some more of that ;)), but this book changed to amazing in the last 25% of it. The plot twists, the drama and the emotio! I shallowed it whole. Like how can I wait for the next book? HELP?!
This is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read that I will recommend to everyone! Especially if you like - new beginnings - Small town - RH/why choose - Multiple kink and variation of spice - A FC with a life outside of her romance life - Complex human relationships - And so much more🔥
PLEASE READ THIS! you won't be disappointed. The plot is there, but the spice just enhances it. It's been a very long time for me to find a book that I lose myself in, but this is amazing!
**Synopsis:** "The Pact" is the first book in the Wolfe Creek Duet series. Thea Griffin, a boudoir photographer, has left her abusive ex to start anew in the small town of Willow Hill. She's rebuilding her life alongside her best friend, Cassie, and has caught the eye of Cole Wolfe, the charming bakery owner. But there's more to Cole than meets the eye. He's part of the Wolfe Creek Four—a bond forged between four brothers that transcends blood. When Thea's past catches up with her, secrets unravel, and danger looms. Will their pact be enough to protect her?
**Review:** "The Pact" by Helena Sage starts off strong, building characters while keeping some secrets close. Cole's steamy lines add heat, but Thea's impatience with secrets tests their relationship. Cole's line, “Love, if you think you’re seeing heaven now, just wait until my mouth is between your legs,” is undeniably hottt.
However, the secret-keeping trope can be frustrating. While I understand the need for personal boundaries, when secrets affect others, openness and honesty are crucial. I find it particularly annoying when the FMC gets upset about the MMC keeping a secret, especially when he didn’t react harshly to her own secret. Thankfully, she realizes her mistake and calls herself out, which I respect. My impatience often gets the best of me, but their behavior makes sense within the story's context.
At 60%, I'm nervously anticipating the next twist. Cass’s outburst was disheartening, but the book’s length provides a realistic relationship progression rather than a rushed romance. The longer format adds realism, and the suspense keeps readers hooked. The unexpected turn and the climax impressed me. While it could work as a standalone, I'm curious about the sequel’s direction.
Dive into "The Pact" if you enjoy a well-developed romance with complex characters and unexpected twists!
🌟Make sure to check TW/CW it’s dark, twisted and there’s quite a few.
🤔 **Thoughts:** While it could stand alone, I'm curious about what lies ahead in the series. The ball is poised to drop, and I'm nervously waiting for the next installment!
Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ POV: multiple Tropes: found family, RH/why choose, curvy FMC, strong possessive MMCs, dark romance, stalker, character in their 30s, cliffhanger, Touch her and 💀, band of brothers, secrets, kidnapping and murder
ARC review.
How this is a debut novel is beyond me. The way I was pulled in trying to figure out what was happening right up until the very end was unreal.
Filled with spice, suspense and breadcrumbs. The Pact will jump to the top of your book list!
With 4 very different MMCs you get a little bit of everything and gives the true definition of why choose. ☕️ Cole: sweet and innocent willing to do anything to show his love for Thea 📚 Sutton: smooth talking and nerdy, book lover with a deep connection to Thea’s past 🏔️ Wes: troubled past and closed off but brings out the primal/feral side and awakes a part of Thea she didn’t know existed 💻 Damian: the fierce, dominant protector
After ending her 12 year relationship with her controlling ex, Thea decides it’s time to start fresh and follow her passion. After opening a photography studio with her best friend, Thea is swept off her feet by the sweet and innocent bakery owner, Cole. Seemingly too perfect, she soon realizes that in order to continue seeing Cole, their relationship comes with several strings attached. Remembering that she wants to live her life for her and not up to the expectations of anyone else Thea decides to dive head first into her new arrangement with the Wolfe Creek Four. Although she has her concerns for how this new lifestyle will potentially work, between a crazed stalker and a long string of unfortunate events, Thea soon realizes that the band of brothers can provide exactly what she’s looking for, each in their unique way.
Unwilling to give up her independence, Thea slowly begins to understand that she can can depend on those who love her to provide and protect her while also being her true self. With each of her four men offering something different she slowly begins to fall for bits of each of them and understand what it truly means to have it all. But at what cost does it come at and how far is someone willing to go to have it all.
With plenty of spice, character development and shocking twists The Pact will keep you flipping pages late into the night. Typically I can predict what is going to happen but the ending and epilogue had me absolutely shook! Do not sleep on this new release!
Well ok…where does one start? There were times in this book I was like 🙄 and there were other times I was like holy F’ing 😳!!! But then…then…then you get to the end and you’re like 🤯! This is a debut novel by Helena Sage and honestly that’s more shocking than the ending of this book. She writes like she’s been doing this for a long time! The spice level is 🌶️🌶️🌶️ there so be prepared and maybe don’t read it jammed between two people on a plane like I did…this book is coming out May 2nd so make sure you go and get it!
I've always been able to find beauty in the darkest places and one day it might ruin me.

Originally I was going to rate this book 3 stars because I felt like there were so many unanswered questions and I was already towards the end of the book; HOWEVER, even though this ended on a major cliffhanger, I do feel like a lot of my questions have been answered now that I’ve read the last 10% of the book! … Although I’ve been left with completely different questions now 😂
I’m giving this book 5 stars due to the plot twist (I’ve never read anything like this) and the shock factor
Having said that, there are still a few thing I didn’t like about these characters (even on reflections of knowing what I now know after finishing the book) :
• Thea was a bit of a hypocrite in regards to her getting angry at the guys “keeping secrets” (which weren’t even that secretive) meanwhile she’s deleting key bits of evidence against Gavin (the text messages of him basically confessing to stalking her & watching her get assaulted) and she never even tells the guys about what he’s done (e.g watching her and Cole at the inn and then text messages she deleted in which he confesses that, breaking in and leaving notes, etc)
• When Thea thought that Gavin was behind all these stunts, she was hugely hesitant to go to the police for help even though she was put in various dangerous situations. She removed/ deleted evidence against “Gavin”, lied to and hid things from the guys and still put herself in harms way by leaving the house alone and ignoring Damian’s pleas for her to stick close to them at all times
• I didn’t like Cassie and the way she treated her friendship with Thea; even after they made up Cassie still made remarks about Thea’s relationship although it got brushed under the rug because “Cassie was drunk”
• Still have unanswered questions regarding why Jessie dislikes Thea since they first met
• Slowburn in regards to the steamy scenes (Due to the fact they had to take it turns/ special order - Damian didn’t get to sleep with her for the first time until about 70% into the book)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my first Helena Sage book, (and my first book review ever, lol) and OOOH MY GODDDDD!!!! When i read the blurb i fell in love and I knew this was a good book and the wait was worth it. This contains spoilers so skip if you don't want to ruin it for yourself.
First of all Thea is such a sweetheart. To say I'm in love with her character is an understatement because i think after that I'm obsessed. Her character is well written and her character growth was the best I've read so far. She's fucking phenomenal.
Now on to the boys🥵🥵 sheesh
I'll start with Wesley. I thought he would be an absolute asshole but I'm glad the writer decided otherwise because seeing him change and warm up to Thea made me fall in love with him. His development was worth it.
Damian, an asshole at first but a teddy bear at heart. His big tough guy act is just that, an act. He's a fucking sweetheart. I wouldn't change a thing about him.
Sutton, who when I read in my head I kept saying Sauron😂😭I don't know why. I'm obsessedddddddd🥵🥵him kneeling for Thea, ooh my Lord I'm sure I passed out after that. He's sweet and I like that they have a connection from years ago and it's like they didn't even part. Things just picked up off where they left them although now they spiced it up. The bookstore scene🥵🥵🥵trust I will never forget it.
Cole😭I don't have words. They way he blindsided me!!!! I didn't see it coming. Although I did suspect after the Jack scene but then again he blindsided me and....he was just too sweet I kept suspecting him and then getting him off my suspect list. Though what cemented it for me was after the Inn. That's when I knew he was too good to be true. But ooh my GODDDDD😩is he ever allowed to redeem himself after this??????
And now Adrian??????😩😩😩😩I need the second book like now😫the suspense is killing me😩
Overall I really loved the book and I don't know what to do with my life after this 😩😭😂

This was definitely a suspenseful and wild ride. To me this book serves as a reminder to work on yourself and your issues instead of seeking validation from others. Mental health was truly represented in this book and therapy should be at the forefront of these characters especially the FMC.
Thea was a over 30 year old photographer who allowed herself to suffer in a toxic relationship for 12 years with a man who treated her poorly simply because she had major mommy and daddy issues. Thea is the typical woman who wasn't loved properly by her parents and as a result she has always been starved for love and affection and will do anything to get some attention. She soon learns that all attention isn't good attention.
Although I enjoyed this story I had my suspicions about who was targeting Thea. My annoyance began to rise when she was too fixated on her new boyfriends to think things through logically and her reaction to her BFF challenging her situation is again proof that some women would rather lash out on people who are trying to help instead of seeing things from another perspective.
Thea embarked on a relationship with Cole, Sutton, Wesley and Damian. Thea and her guys were having the time of their lives with their new thriving relationship. Everything was going good until it wasn't. Somebody is not only stalking Thea but they are trying to sabotage the Wolfe brothers and everything they have built.
Time is of the essence and Thea soon learns that danger is lurking closer than she ever imagined.

Ending on a jaw dropping cliffhanger, I can't wait to read the conclusion of this gripping story
So, I just turned the last page of “The Pact,” and let me tell you, it’s like a rollercoaster that only goes up. Helena Sage, you sly minx! 📚
When this is the dedication, you know you're in for a hot time! : "𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘵. 𝘌𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥. 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘵'𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯".
Thea, our leading lady, is 33 and not your typical fresh-out-of-college protagonist. It’s about time we had some seasoned characters with a bit more life experience. When Thea’s path crosses with the Wolfe Creek Four, it’s not just a small-town romance; it’s a full-blown love pentagon. And yes, you read that right - four 'brothers', one woman, and a whole lot of ‘why choose’.
The world-building? Spot on. The character development? You’ll fall head over heels for each of the Wolfe brothers - and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be mentally dating them all by chapter three. 🐺❤️ She's a thick girl! The book (and Thea!), over 600 pages, but it’s so gripping you’ll fly through it without realising! 🚀📖
Now, let’s talk about polyamory. Helena embodies it with a finesse that’s rare in dark romance. The relationships unfurl naturally, devoid of the clichéd instalust. Trust and consent reign supreme (we love Consent Kings!). She takes her time, letting the tension simmer until it reaches a crescendo then boom! The spice detonates, and it’s a relentless, heady rush that leaves you breathless. 🌶️💖
And that ending? It’s not just a twist; it’s a declaration of war on predictability. Cliffhanger warning? Understatement of the century. Brace yourself for impact. 🎤🔥
“The Pact” is a must-read that will seize you, shake you, and leave you craving more. And don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I absolutely devoured this book, it was on the longer side and I was anticipating the turning point of the story the entire time. While I’m trying really hard to not have spoilers - what the actual heck. Ahhhhh - I feel completely and utterly blindsided with the cliffhanger ending on this. Book 2 - I need you.
After ending a toxic relationship of 12 years, Thea decides to pack up and move on with her life and career with her best friend Cassie. Together they open a photography studio to live out their dreams. Thea loves to specialise in boudoir photography, making women feel beautiful and confident.
Being finally ready to take a step forward and get back into the dating world again, she meets Cole, the hot and charming bakery/coffee shop owner. His brothers join the mix not long after, and together they make up the Wolfe Creek four -
Cole - Loves all things on the sweeter side, will do anything for Thea. Sutton - Has a past history with Thea, owns a bookstore, passionate, bit of an exhibitionist. Wesley - The primal, feral one - enjoys all of the wildness but is closed off and reluctant. Runs a wilderness adventure business. Damien - The always in control Dom. The tech guy, the family provider.
These brothers have a ‘pact’ where they share everything between them, and now that includes Thea if she is up to the challenge.
This story had fantastic world building, a ton of buried secrets, deception, lies, drama, angst, twists, great spice, and great character development. The characters were all in their 30s, and they felt authentic with how each of their relationships developed. Overall, incredibly written.
I was a bit intimidated when I saw how THICCK this baby is but the way I absolutely DEVOURED this book…staying up til 4am reading, absolutely worth it!!
After breaking up with her long time boyfriend Thea has moved to a new town to open a business with her best friend and chase her career dreams in photography. With a little push from her best friend Thea goes out on a date with the owner of the local bakery, Cole. The “Wolfe Creek Four” is known around town for scandalous things, 4 found family brothers Cole, Sutton, Wesley and Damian who’ve all made a pact. Family above everything, and everything is shared. Their women included. When Thea’s ex shows back up everything around her starts to crumble, issues showing up everywhere, but the four men show her that they are there for her…but the plot twist…you’ll never see coming.
This book was SO good, the spice was amazing of course but I loved that I was just as invested in the story going on as well, learning about the history of the four men, her relationship development with each and everyone of them as well as her relationship with her best friend and the hurdles they had to go through. And THE PLOT TWISTS…I was absolutely shocked 😳 My heart was literally RACING while I was reading the ending!! I NEED the second book NOW!!😂 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 literally only because there’s such a huge cliffhanger and it left me begging for more.
5/ 5 ⭐ 4.8/5🌶 This book: RH, touch her and ☠️, primal play, obsessive stalkHer, photographer
I don’t even know where to begin with this review. First off it’s almost impossible to believe that this is Helena Sages debut novel because the character development and backstories are exquisite, the storyline is incredibly engaging and believable, and the spice is bringing the heat but not overly done. Oh.My.Gosh this book is good. I adored Thea, the FMC, and I loved watching her come into her own. She was in a nightmare of a relationship before it finally ended and we meet her as she is trying to put back together all the broken pieces of her life. It was interesting watching her navigate all of the relationships in her world and grow in them. The guys were all great but I felt particularly partial to Sutton and Wesley. It took me a while to come around to Damien but by the end he had me roped in as well. I will tell you, out of all the plot twists I had envisioned in my mind, I still did NOT see the ending coming. The absolute rollercoaster that the last 10% of this book took me on was one that had me screaming, wanting to throw up, and so dang brutal but OMG also so good. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out and I am anticipating reading everything that this incredible author puts out because she does not come to play!
Let me start by saying I refuse to believe that this is a debut novel. Helena Sage clearly did this in a past life because this book was 🔥💯🤌🏼 I’m going to try to not really have any spoilers in this but it’s so hard to do this book just without being thorough.
Thea, our FMC, moves to a new place for a fresh start with her friend and meets the Wolfe Creek Four- Cole, Sutton, Wesley, and Damian. These guys created a pact years ago to share everything- their money, home, and even women. Though Thea initially begins a relationship with Cole she soon learns that in order to have a relationship with one she must be willing to have a relationship with all of them. While she is put off by this in the beginning, she soon opens up to the idea. Unfortunately, as soon as her love life takes off the rest of her life starts to fall apart- she gets sick, finds stalker-ish notes, her truck breaks down, etc. and she believes it might be her crazy ex that she moved to escape.
I tend to be pretty proud of the fact that I can usually figure out the plot twist before it happens but I will 100% admit I was wrong and absolutely didn’t see this coming. I LOVED this book, the spice was great, the plot was phenomenal, and the characters were in their 30s!
If you need me I’ll be over here trying to pick my jaw up off the ground while I wait for the next book.
This is story of the Wolfe Creek Four (Cole, Damian, Sutton, and Wesley) and the pact they made to each other: family first and one woman for all.
When Thea accepted a date from her crush, Cole, she was not aware of the pact these adoptive brothers made to each other. When he takes her home to meet his brothers, she is in for some surprises. First, she discovers one brother was a close friend from college that she has lost contact with and missed. Second, one brother does not want to be touched or wants her around and third, the other brother is an arrogant alphahole who she is not sure even likes her. Then she gets told that if she wants Cole, she has to have the other three too.
To add to her concerns about have a relationship with four men, her abusive ex shows up, her career starts to get sabotaged, and she is being stalked.
Thea does start to develop a personal relationship with each man. This is something I love when authors of why choose romance do this. While there is a group dynamic, the individual relationships which each man is the foundation.
This book blew me away. There is action, suspense, and smoking hot smexy times with each of her men. I will be honest when I say I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room when I reached the end because that ending blew me away. I was not expecting that! I need the next one like now.
Excuse me while I pick my jaw (and my panties) off the floor! I have never read a book like this before and I have read my fair share of dark romances.... When I first started reading it I got Credence vibes without the !nest, and den of Vipers without Diesel (iykyk), it was a good, solid 4 star dark romance up until about 2 thirds of the way through, and then it blew my mind.
It had sexy characters, a plot that held its own and the spicy scenes, although (very) frequent, didn't feel monotonous like some other books I've read. But DAMN!!! That last third got me!!! It took a great dark romance and gave it wings! It earnt that 5th star, actually it earnt more than that!! It turned into one of the best thrillers I've read in a while! It had brilliant and extremely well thought out plot devices that had me begging just one more chapter! And those last several chapters were like Bam! Bam! Bam!
⚡️ Great plot to spice ratio
⚡️ Rh/why choose
⚡️ Found Family
⚡️ Touch her and 💀
⚡️ Thrilling cliffhanger ending
I am devastated that it's ended, horrified i have to wait until book 2 and so excited to read it again and share the trauma I just experienced with others!!! This is an A+++ read that I need others to read so I can trauma bond with them... do yourselves a favour, read this now!
“Our queen of darkness and moonlight, feared by all others except us. We are her flame. She is our moth.”
This book is a masterpiece! No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Helena managed to open up my soul in a way no other author has before. My mind is literally reeling! The ending!?!? Holy shit!
I liked Thea’s character right away. And I love the curvy FMC representation. As she opens up more throughout the story, I really started to connect with her. At first I giggled when I realized we share a birthday. But the relationship trauma she experienced is so similar to my own. And I felt her on how she felt internally about herself. Watching her grow and transform was absolutely beautiful and so deserved. Absolute badass FMC!
I loved Cole’s sensitivity. I adored Thea’s deep connection with Sutton. Damian’s dark side was an absolute dream. And Wes was easily my favorite. I empathized with him the most. I just wanted to hug him and tell him he’s not alone. But his primal side was the absolute cherry 🍒 on top!
I really didn’t want this book to end. I had heard whispers of how jaw dropping the ending was and how badly readers want book 2. Every single person was right. I was left speechless. And it’s going to be sooo hard to wait for the next part of the series! And may I add this is Helena’s debut novel!?!? Knocked it out of the park 🏟️
WTF!!! I was not expecting these twists!! This book has everything I love in a book as well as some I don't like. I love a good RH, and this one was done so uniquely! Instead of falling for multiple guys, the fmc was told it was an all or none situation, so she had to learn to love these men. I usually love a damsel I distress/touch her and die tropes, but I didn't always love this fmc. She was unsure but sometimes overconfident, sometimes wanting to be helped but also fiercely independent. Sometimes I just wanted to shake her! It was definitely more of a slow burn (which inactually prefer), but the authour drew out the relationships a little too long for me. The twists and writing are why I gave the book 4 stars. This is honestly the 1st book I read in months that I couldn't put down. What I could have lived without is the kinks that the guys are into. I was ok with the one mmc who liked a bit of cnc and primal, but I'm not a fan of bdsm and punishments. It was alluded to that the new guy coming in is going to be into harder stuff and it makes me nervous to read. Will definitely be reading it because I want to see a certain someone get their comeuppance, but I have a feeling i will be skipping some scenes!!
