Paris is full of vibrance and flavor, robust and rich. It’s a place where dreams are forged and broken. The city of love has everything to offer, and I want it all.
There’s a new restaurant in town offering a unique chance at becoming sous chef if you can prove you’re the best of ten competitors. And I won’t let anything stand in the way of my culinary victory.
But the pretty little French girl with golden hair and cherry red lips sharing my station in the Dix kitchen throws my entire world off its axis. Aurélie is the surprise I never saw coming and the distraction I never wanted. And more than anything else, I want to make her mine.
Flames aren’t the only thing heating up this kitchen. And knives aren’t the only thing sharp enough to draw blood.
She feeds a darker side of me that I don’t think I can ever deny again.
And forbidden fruit has never tasted so sweet.
Author This is an interconnected standalone featuring Gavin Greyson. Grey is first introduced in the Stolen Away Series Book Two, Breakaway. These events take place before Stolen Away, and the Stolen Away Series does not need to be read first.
This is a dark and spicy romance that contains morally grey characters and themes and situations some readers may find triggering. Please read with caution.
Willow Prescott lives in Amsterdam with her husband and small coven of mini monsters. She spends her nights in a caffeine haze dreaming up twisted sexcapades and deliciously dark villains who make you get on your knees and beg for more.
I loved the first 66%, their banter/connection, and omg that twist of her made me scream!!!
but it fell short after that point, also I wish it was multi PoV.. ig it's about Grey but Amélie's pov would have been nice?
Looking forward to book 2, curious about what happens and if he gets back with Amélie?

First of all, before you start with this book, be sure to check out the TWs, because your mental health always comes first. But be aware that they contain some spoilers.
Willow takes you to a culinary world full of delicious dishes and manages to give the word spice another level of smuttiness.
We have our MMC Grey who fought hard his whole life to get to the point where he is now. His path was full of struggle and finally he gets the chance to prove himself to the Chef of a fancy new restaurant. The FMC Aurélie is Grey’s mysterious competition in the kitchen. Their story is full of lust and sexual tension. You will get a lot of knife, blood and cum play as well as get to know some interesting recipes.
I loved the book and hope you will as well.
Quotes: "You are the first girl I've spanked and tongue-fuçked in a back alley." I leave out the fact that she's the first in general, alley or not.
"Fuçk, Aurélie," I growl, lost to the fantasy. "Take it." I slide my hand faster, twisting my wrist when I reach the tip. "Take my whole çock down that slųtty fųcking throat." I feel wetness soak through her panties, my own arousal so thick that it's like running my fingers through a bowl of cream.
"Good. Do you think you can take more?" She nods her head as much as she can with her hair twisted in my fist. "Yes, chef."
This is a super spicy and short story that brings the heat! I loved this book! It’s like if dark romance met a cooking competition and fell in love and had a baby 🤣 Willow is one of my fav authors but this exceeded my expectations! It’s so good!
❤️Rivals to lovers 🔪Forced proximity ❤️ Impact play 🔪Cum and kitchen utensil play ❤️ The best ice cream sundae you’ve ever had 😘 🔪 Touch her and ☠️
omg when the arc hit my kindle, i nearly dropped everything to read this! i loved grey as a side character in willow’s other book, but seeing him as the main character just does something to me. 😮💨
i didn’t expect for this book to be as dark as it was, but it was still very enjoyable! i can’t wait for book 2!
also, fuck a bitch named aurelie. 😭 i hated what she did to grey.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I don’t think I can watch another cooking show where they say “yes, chef” again without thinking of this book 😂🌶️ If you love spice this book is for you! Definitely had me sweating 😂👏🏻
Hands down…one of my favorites! Dark, steamy romance with cooking in Paris and a touch a French thrown in…”chef’s kiss”! (You can bet on me making that sundae and those cocktails!! Thanks Willow! 😘)
After Breakaway, I needed more on Greyson, and boy, did Shades of Red deliver 😍😍😍
This is DARK and steamy. And I do mean DARK 😈 I really have no triggers when reading and there was once or twice that I cringed a bit. Her trigger warnings do spoil a bit but if you have concerns, please check the list! (Your mental health is more important than the plot)
The story wraps nicely but I can’t wait for the second half of the duet! Willow has quickly (and rightfully) become an “automatic buy” author for me. So honored to be on her ARC team 🥰
This is an ARC review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 This is my first Willow Prescott book and it will definitely not be my last! Grey is your typical cocky a-hole, hot, sexy and man does his French suck but he meets Aurelie a somewhat spoiled princess with a thing for red lipstick. The things that happen over the course of the book are crazy, the character development and world building is wonderful. I look forward to the next book!
I dnfed at 48%. The writing wasn't the issue. It was solid. I just didn't care for the characters. Everything was happening way too fast. I'm also not much of a fan of strange men using sharp knifes on lady parts. Me disliking the MMC made this scenario just icky. So yeah, this just wasn't for me.
What an.. interesting book.. *laughs nervously and disturbed* 🙂
First of all, I’ve never read anything like this before and I want to thank you, Willow, for being so sweet to me and for sending me this copy! 📖 Despite me not being a big fan of dark romance anymore, I still appreciate you for sending it to me.
𝗔𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂; Driven by a desire to become a sous chef, Grey joins a cooking competition where he meets his love interest Aurelie. A girl with many secrets that she isn’t willing to tell. But when her big secrets does come out.. hell breaks loose in Grey’s mind.
I’m sure that if you are someone who LOVES Dark Romance, you’ll devour this book within a few hours. It was twisted at its finest. It just wasn’t meant for me. So if you’re thinking about picking up this book, definitely read the warnings and prepare yourself for an unhinged chef 👨🏻🍳
But despite my mixed feelings (pls don’t blame me, I’ve become a HUGE romance girly over the months and sadly dark romance just isn’t doing it for me anymore) I’m so happy that I got the honour of reading and reviewing it.
Book Mails will forever make me happy and I’ll always try to keep it fair despite my personal opinions and taste. After all, authors put so much work into their projects and I don’t want to be the person whose critique extinguishes the books light.
I’m still glad that I read it and I’m even more happy about the illustrations and the whole book design. I can tell how much love and work was put in there and I want you, Willow, to know that it’s absolutely gorgeous and creative. Like I said, I’ve never read anything like this before and the idea was so unique and fun! 👨🏻🍳 🥘
I’ll definitely be using that cute lil ‘Sour Cherry Martini’ book mark for my other books but also use the recipe since I’m a big cocktail lover 🍸 and obviously try my best with the other recipes and hopefully Chef Teo doesn’t mess up 👩🏻🍳
This little filthy erotic novel was a delicious treat and felt like anything but a filler to get to know a character. This little taste is going to have me RUNNING for Willows other stories. We meet Chef Gavin Greyson and INSTANTLY get to see what kind of kinky fuckery this dark and brooding Master is into. Food play, 🩸 & c*m play, knife kink…oh my! But beyond the layer of Gavin’s dark needs that is something about him that makes you drawn to him as a character. He’s kind and caring in his own twisted way. I actually really enjoyed the ending and found it refreshing - Gavin has his boundaries and respect for himself to realize that sometimes you can’t save those that don’t want to save themselves. This book is dark, so please, please make sure to check trigger warnings before diving in. But if you love some kinky, dirty, sexy dark romance then this story is for you. The Epilogue has you craving for more.
And never did I think an ice cream sundae would be slightly ruined for me…again.

I didn’t think I had a chef k!nk and then I read this book and now…my life is forever changed 😂 I’m not sure I can even watch Hell’s Kitchen again without thinking of this book.
When ten chefs enter into a competition to become the sous chef at a brand new first-class restaurant, two chefs end up becoming more than friendly and the MMC definitely has a sadist!c side. This book was a RIDE and omg it was so spicy I was breathing heavily and fanning myself off so much. I loved the details of how the MMC noticed everything in red, tying in with the title of the book. PRO TIP, DO NOT SKIP THE EPILOGUE OF THIS BOOK.
Overall, this was so flipping enjoyable and makes me want to read more from this author. I may accidentally say “yes chef” to my husband after this and he’s gonna be so confused but I’ll be into it. Anyways, read this book. 😂🫶

REVIEW 😉
This book is basically a spicy version of MasterChef, Emphasis on the Master part 😉 The tension between Aurélie and Grey is probably one of my favourite things about this book except for that little surprise plot twist, Plus the things that happen in the kitchen are next level but I loved every minuet of reading this book. I grew up watching baking/cooking shows and 'yes, chef' has always been hot especially when it came to Mr Gordon Ramsey but I'd happily say 'yes, chef' all day, everyday for Mr Gavin Greyson.
I will now be patiently waiting for the second book to be released.
I have been missing out on a dark romance author it seems! This is the first Willow Prescott book I have read and it was amazing. Quick read, dark with so many different k!nks (a whole page), 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, and he’s a chef 😮💨
Not only is Grey an up and coming American chef in Paris but he is competing for the coveted sous chef position. I love a determined, possessive, alpha book boyfriend.
Now I love…truly love, love a cooking competition show mix this in with dark k!nky romance and it’s an instant favorite.
I can’t wait to go read the rest of her books when there’s a chance for his reappearance now as a Dom….
So glad to get this as an ARC and I am going to go reread because 😮💨 it’s been a while since a read a good 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ book.
Two “chefs” enter a competition to become sous chef at an upcoming restaurant, but when sparks fly it makes it slightly more complicated. Grey has no secrets whilst Aurélie has more than she’s willing to tell. A short steaming romance that will have you side eyeing ice cream for the rest of your life🖤
UM… FUCK YES. I have been completely dumfounded, flabbergasted and gobsmacked with what I just read. WHHAAATTTT. I. FUCKING. LOVED. IT. Reading the tropes leading into this book, my eyes were bulging out of my damn eye sockets (not in a bad way either), cause I wasn’t sure how you’d inappropriately use a spoon among other things, and boy, did I figure that shit out. There’s dark romance, and then there’s dark romance. And this shit is the DAMN LATTER. Is it bad that I might have enjoyed some of it? And no, don’t actually answer that. Don’t yuck my yum.
Having Willow’s books already in my tbr, I knew I wanted to get a hand on Shades of Red. AND SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Also, now knowing Chef Grey is also in Breakaway… I can’t wait to meet him again soon *wink*. And I am FUCKING FEELING IT FOR GAVIN. The amount of love I want to pour into this man is concerning. No matter if he a little bit deranged, I must say I do look good in red *smirk*. But I am sobbing. Truly fucking sobbing for this man. My heart ABSOLUTEY BROKE FOR HIM. I CAN’T. I want to wrap him into a blanket burrito for eternity. He can be my first (technically) and my last. I don’t care at this point. He fucking deserves everything. For the fact he poured his heart and soul, into the food and to her, and that’s how it turned out for him. LIKE FUCKING COME ON. Even though he got is redemption and found himself nonetheless, I still want to cuddle and love him.
Also, this might be the first time I’m not entirely fond of the FMC. Because boy, did I want to do some shit to her. And not in the way Grey was doing it either. I am so FUCKING PISSED at her it is not even funny. Her decisions are fucking stupid, and I am not a fucking fan. AT ALL. Gavin deserved better. And he did, in a way. I just hope the next time we see Gavin, he can break down those walls that the bitch made him build, and he can be truly himself once more.
Short, sweet, spicy, and oh so delicious. The plot twists had my mind reeling. The plot was 𝒸𝒽ℯ𝒻𝓈 𝓀𝒾𝓈𝓈. I’ll never be able to watch a cooking competition or “The Bear” the same way. I mean 𝒀𝒆𝒔, 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒇... 𝓀𝒾𝓃𝓀𝓎 𝒷𝒶𝒷ℯ𝓈. I need more of Greyson immediately his dirty mouth had me sweating.
🔪ᎶᏒᏋᎩ: I know flavors, I can improvise. I deserve to be the Sous at Dix and I will prove it despite my lack of training. If I can keep my eyes of the golden seductress draped in 𝘙𝘦𝘥. Sometimes 𝓭𝓲𝓻𝓽𝔂 secrets should stay that way even if her skin would look so lovely under my knife.
✨ᴀᴜʀᴇ́ʟɪᴇ: Pain can be pleasurable, I can take it. I try to resist the tattooed American chef but what he’s offering may be too much to turn down. 𝒜 𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁ℯ 𝒻𝓊𝓃 𝓃ℯ𝓋ℯ𝓇 𝒽𝓊𝓇𝓉 𝒶𝓃𝓎ℴ𝓃ℯ after all.

“Fuck, you pink up pretty,”
“Shut the fuck up and smother me with this sweet cunt, chérie.”
“You’re going to ruin me,” “But you’ll enjoy it.”
“I hate you,”“Mmm, now you’re just trying to turn me on,”
“You can shove that apology up the ass I just fucked, chérie.”
Let’s just start off with the trigger warnings since they 👏🏻 are 👏🏻 plentiful:

Still reading? Good, because fellow smut readers are NOT going to want to miss this interconnected/standalone short read in the Stolen Away Series.
I had a feeling from the beginning that Grey & Aurélie were bound for some trouble and I wasn’t disappointed.
While super spicy, this book was so well written and heartbreaking at the same time as we see Greyson’s lust, love, and subsequent heartbreak play out on the pages…and the golden girl’s betrayal…
We all know what it feels like to give your heart to someone & get it back ripped to shreds and I appreciated that vulnerability in a MMC, especially one who is a sadist.
𝐅𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞: “What's it going to be, golden girl? Brave enough to run from the devil?”
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book took me by surprise. I wont spoil it since its a short read
Saw this on tiktok after checking for a short story recommendation and since i like everything concerning chefs/kitchen/food critics a lil dark nd sadistic i was sold nd intrigued af ..did i mention the male character is a sadistic young man with morals?! Well and a chef and he likes blood play🔪 Rough play Dominant A lil pain outlet ifykyk
But its the ending that suprised me i was like wowwww okeyyyy i like where this is going and i want more..it got alot of potential and now i need to wait for book 2 to be released.. This is the first book i read by this author, well done looking forward for book 2 and some other stuff
I may never view a chef in the same light again! As a cooking enthusiast, this book truly serves up some chef-inspired daydreams. The twists, turns, and that jaw-dropping finale - talk about surprises! Williow Prescott has truly cooked up a storm with this one. I can't wait to proudly display the physical copy on my shelf!Grey, the chef, struts around like he owns the kitchen, but his French accent is a real head-scratcher. Little did he know, Paris had a sassy, red-lipped rival chef waiting for him. The two end up as teammates in a high-stakes sous chef competition at a fancy 5-star restaurant. Will their culinary clash spice things up in the kitchen?Aurélie, the mystery chef, finds herself stuck with a pompous guy. Despite pushing him away like a pro, he just won't budge. Will her hidden secrets be spilled at last?
So this book was bought because it has a pretty front cover that's matt, it also has a cocktail menu inside for each chapter 🤷🏼♀️ and i wanted to explore the "yes chef" idea. It's a short book, which is good because I felt like calling the police. Lots of different kinks are explored in this book and are extreme. Very far fetched especially when it took a very sinister turn. I most likely won't go on to read the second book, I think it seems master Greyson might just be OK where he is, and not endangering anymore unsuspecting market goers.
This book hit hard and razor sharp! This one felt heartbreaking and vindicating at the same time. An up and coming chef with a love for using sharp knives on things other than food. A beautiful French woman filled with mystery and allure. Do you ever really get to know someone? What are they hiding? What side of themselves have they hidden from the world? The spice was intense and fast-paced. There was so much kink and ferocity. There was a lot of emotion for emotionless people. I don't know how to describe it without giving too much away. It definitely got to me in a deep way. You'll have to check it out for yourself. Remember to check the trigger warnings. It was dark and filthy and intriguing.
In my review of Breakaway I said I wanted more of Grey, and Willow delivered. This was everything I needed and more. Honestly I put him above Cade after this book. This definitely exceeded my expectations 👀

Wow, this book had me hooked! I read this in one sitting on a train to Wolverhampton!
I loved the dark romance, and the triggers had me squealing although I read them aloud and was like eh what? But I knew then and there I would love it and I did!
I loved the chemistry between the main characters and their banter, and the story was great! The epilogue tho. HOT. 🔥
I am excited for book 2!
Thank you so much for the arc in exchange for my honest review ❤️
The start of this book was a bit slow and the large chapters put me off. BUT WOW it turnt around so fast and it felt like the chapters were going by so fast with how much was happening!! If you haven't read this, READ IT. The spice was SPICY
just finished this last night and i was wondering where do i find a real life man like Grey because i completely fell in love with him i would definitely recommend this book it’s definitely in my top 10 Check the TW before your read
I did not realize chefs and cooking competitions could be so damn kinky, but god damnnnnn does yes, chef hit as good as good girl 😂
I love the playlist and the cocktail menu for the book, I thought that was an awesome touch!
Grey is your typical morally gray, dominant, arrogant chef competing against 10 others to be the sous chef at a new restaurant Dix. Amongst his competition is Aurelie, his golden girl, who seems to be exactly his flavor and he can’t resist.
There were a few little twists I didn’t see coming exactly which I always love, and there was a sort of happily for now, which irritated me for a second but totally agreed with after taking a second 😂
And the prologue/epilogue, can’t wait to see where that Gray takes us in book two.
Fast paced, dark romance. I think I want a chef or a baker 🤭 touch her & die, she’s mine type of mannnnnn. Greyson was all that we needed! I literally ate this book up & can’t wait for the second book. Arc Reviewer 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 go & read this book if you’re up for some dark romance
A dark romance about chefs? Say no more! This short, steamy romance was *chefs kiss* as they say. Grey is a man who is determined to get what he wants, and oh boy, his determination is was quite something 🥵
If you want a great pallet cleanser, I’d highly recommend. It is written wonderfully, the characters are great and the spice is fantastic.
Just please make sure you read the trigger warnings as who knows where this book is going to go? Well, I do, but I’m not going to tell you.
This is the second ARC read I’ve done for Willow and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
