Shattered by Faith

Rate this book
Exiled by The Sisters to an island cloaked by magic, Elian faces a lifetime alone, his only companions the tropical breeze and crashing surf. For nearly five years, he has suffered this fate—a punishment brought about by his actions. If meant to teach him a lesson, the forced solitude has done nothing but infuriate him. He would find a way to break the spell, leave this godforsaken island, and rid the world of The Sisters once and for all.

As the lone survivor of a freak plane crash, Faith Tulli spends the following fifteen hours floating on a piece of wreckage while considering her bleak situation. Not only is she suffering from an injury, but she is also dehydrating beneath the blistering sun. As her makeshift lifeboat comes to rest on a sandy shore beneath the curtain of darkness, she can’t possibly know the only other inhabitant on the island is a dangerous shifter hell-bent on revenge. Getting in his way may prove to be a fatal mistake.

This book from the beginning to about 60% is amazing. The world building of the island, the relationship growth between the two characters and the little hints and secrets we get to determine why things had happened and why they were both even there in the first place was great. However, from about 65% of the book to the end was horrific in my opinion. The decisions the main characters made were overall dumb. They weren’t decisions necessarily made to help progress the situation but rather stretch it out to the point where you as the reader sit there like “wait what??” And I had too many moments like that. The novel should have ended when the events of the island were over. Everything else felt very filler like just to make the story longer. Especially the whole story line with Elian. I did see this book is not part of a series so I didn’t understand the need to even add Stark into the picture. It also goes against most alphas to even be marginally okay with what Stark was doing. Lastly, the female main character was very weak minded in my opinion. Why put this sapling with this overall aggressive character? I was honestly rooting for her to end up with someone, anyone other than Elian because other than the trauma of the island they did NOT match. She made very hasty decisions and barely thought anything through before making them. I cried in frustration twice from this novel simply from the choices this woman made, I wanted to throttle her. This book after 60% is up down, down up and I wasn’t here for it. I was really saddened this book didn’t turn out to be a favorite of mine because the plot was soooooo promising.

In Shattered by Faith the journey of Elian and Faith is an epic one of tribulation and destiny.

From a reader's point of view the beginning was a little confusing, but don't worry it will eventually make sense. It begins with the slaughter of a pack, and Elian is believed to be punished. He spends five years alone, on a deserted island, being tormented by ghosts. His mental stability isn't exactly there.

Faith is in a plane crash and after fighting for her life, finds herself on an island. She thinks she's saved, but discovers its only inhabitant is an incorrigible beast of a man. But he is the one who saved her, otherwise she would have died from her injuries.

Together Elian and Faith try to survive the island, all while trying to get off of it. After the amount of time they spend together, even though Elian despises human/were relationships, they both end up having feelings for the other. To Faith, he is her savior. To Elian, she is his salvation.

"He could now understand the allure of humans: innocent, grail, and dependent. But this one was strong, and she had endured more than most, yet never failed to offer him a smile. This one was his."

Their love for each other sets the plot for the rest of the book. Being together is not something they can simply do; the amount of obstacles and time is overwhelmingly against them. There are witch's spells in place, governmental laws that have to obeyed, treacheries from those thought to be trusted, and yet nothing will keep these two apart in the end.

It's all about the circle!

It was heck of a ride. I’m not sure I have ever read such an intense story before. It has supernatural and magic but it was ruthless and twisted and the fates was not too kind to the heros. I can’t express how much my heart hurt for the main characters. From the beginning it was one danger after another and it just kept coming. 30% in and I was sure it will all end soon but was nowhere near the end. I have never experienced such a long suffering in a book. Never the less it’s kept me going and I needed to finish it, needed to make sure there is HEA, because page after page it seamed it will not be possible. There is nothing predictable in this story, maybe that the characters fall in love, everything else is unexpected and to be honest emotionally scary as I was not sure how the story will end. I was enthralled to finish it, but everyone needs to be ready to experience all the emotions and anxiety that lead to the finish line. It has a happy ending just be prepared for a rollercoaster.

I really liked "Shattered by Faith." It is a dark story with lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing. I kept thinking I knew where the story was going, but I was wrong every time.

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but this book has a lot of suspense and action to go along with the romance. The main character, Elian, has done some almost unforgivable things that land him isolated on an island. I didn't have a lot of compassion for him at first, but that quickly changed as I learned more about his backstory and his interactions with Faith. Faith is an amazing character that I loved from the start. Together, they create a story that keeps you guessing but also makes you root for them both.

Was a different take on shifters and had other interesting concepts in the book. It certainly kept my interest all through the book and trying to predict the outcome. For some reason I’m very bad at working out endings in books. A movie I can predict events happening as they happen. I know that a good book is one I can’t predict what will happen next and this book is a good one. Really enjoyed it and had trouble making myself not just sit and read till I’d finished it.

This is Elian (incarcerated on an island by himself) and Faith’s story. It is dark with twists and turns that keep you guessing. I found this book was full of suspense and action but also had compassion and romance. Reading the background and interaction between these two, had you rooting for them. Will they get together?

Well the book wasn’t what I expected at all. There was a lot of violence which is ok but maybe some was gratuitous. There was a lot of back and forth and much confusion all the way thru. The end was not soon enough. I finished the book not sure I would read it again though.

This book was full of suspense. I never knew what to expect and was surprised at every turn! I was engaged by the story and it kept me reading to find out what would happen to this pair or if they would end up together.
It is an emotional rollercoaster of a book I couldn't put down!
