Taming the Tiger and Mania are two of my absolute favorite BLs, everything that Brothers Without A Tomorrow creates is phenomenal (their art is in a league of their own) but those two were the perfect amount of bittersweet and happily ever after.

I can't even begin to tell how gripping, beautiful and heartbreaking this story is...so much pain in the past of all main characters and the weight of social constraints on top of everything...some scenes were just so painful to witness but when the light was finally let in...unforgettable...

WHAT A RIDE. easily on my top three. i will never find something like taming the tiger ever again. it made me ugly cry so much. this story will forever have a special place in my heart.

You know that author that everyone loves and raves about but for some reason, you just cannot seem to click with them? I think BWAT is that for me. This is my 3rd story from them and I just.... eh🤷🏾‍♀️.

I read Blood Link and was so bored that I ended up DNF-ing it. I read Smyrna & Capri gave that 4⭐s but I don't remember what I liked about it. (I did stop Smyrna & Capri at chapter 59 -it was still ongoing at the time-, so maybe when I get to complete it I'll remember why I rated it so highly)

Now with this book, it was mostly a whole lot of smut. Don't get me wrong, I love smut. HOWEVER!!!!! sometimes it's just a bit too much. Like it was in this story. Also, so much of this world and story were left unexplored/unexplained
For example
🤴🏻The thing with the prince. Why was he so obsessed with Ahn Geum-Hoo and his ex? Did he love that man and so he was angry that he liked/preferred Geum-Hoo instead?

⚔️What was the purpose of Geum-Hoo's brother other than just to tell us that Geum-Hoo was some kind of cold-blooded killer of his horrendous family? I genuinely thought that the kid would have a larger part to play in the story. We only just saw him occasionally. N he never really interacted with the main characters

🐯He had tan skin, a big dick, was built like a double-door fridge, and a soft top. That's all there was to him

🏃🏾‍♂️‍➡️Why did they have to eventually run away? The prince was arrested and there was evidence to prove his crimes and cruelty.... I don't think he'd have wiggled his way out of that mess. Also, Geum-Hoo was rich but had no connections? How? Princes have been killed by lesser men so again, I don't understand why they had to run and eventually die all stupid like that.

Yeah, sure, they did get reincarnated (with their memories) and met in the modern day, but why couldn't they have lived happily together, died of old age, and THEN got reincarnated and met once again? All that angst in the later chapters and the side stories was just dumb

The way this destroyed me and put me back together 😭

Ahn Geum-hoo the man that you are! I knew that this wouldn’t be another typical story because it’s by BWAT after all, but I wasn’t expecting such a beautiful and heart wrenching story. Absolutely loved the development of Ahn Geum-hoo (MC) and Beom’s (ML) relationship and the themes that followed them - AGH being winter and Beom being spring, even all four seasons; the flowers that Beom bloomed on AGH. They faced innumerable obstacles due to the time period and their different statuses (AGH being a noble and Beom a peasant) but both loved the other so much that they were more than willing to sacrifice themselves to protect the other. I think both characters were written well but AGH is my favourite because he was complex, he felt so deeply and even though he likened himself to the cold winter, he was warm to those around him.

There was so much tenderness in the way they looked at each other, they were undoubtedly in love, so much so that when AGH unfortunately left first, Beom followed him shortly after. Honestly I was saddened by that ending but I knew BWAT wouldn’t let me down because immediately after that, they gave us a reincarnated AGH and Beom who found each other again in the modern world. Their love transcended life and death but the plot twist is that both remembered their past lives (mostly AGH) and it was so sad how AGH still felt guilty about what happened in the past. But the past was the past and they had the opportunity to create their own happy future together. I also liked that Eun-hoo was healthy and he and Soon had a happy ending when they got married.

Overall this was so beautiful, both the art and the story. Speaking of the art, the sex scenes were not only hot but there was a level of intimacy between the characters that is hard to find in other webtoons. Pure sex doesn’t make me blush but oh, when I tell you that even the way they gazed at each other was enough to make me feel as if I was intruding on something.

⭐4.5 (rounded down) - really liked it

The past few days I have been starting and dnf-ing so many manwha/manga/comic series that I began to annoy myself. This one I also started on a whim.

Very surprising to have finished this so fast though! I did not realise it was only 5 volumes. Funny to see the physical version is available in German. Glad that someone added it to here because I am too lazy to request it.

Thoughts about the ending: The first 'ending' (the official one) really made me cry. Very beautiful but heartbreaking. Some reviews I read were mad that there was überhaupt a sidestory. Which I totally get. It is the kind of tragic ending that feels realistic but very fitting.

For me I loved that there was more story because although I loved the first ending, I need that happy happy joy joy ending.

As a whole though, I could not tell you why this series worked so well for me. The characters are obsessed with each other and apparently that was enough for me. Would have like to know more about the side-character but they truly were only there to advance the main characters story.

"Tale of the Yellow Dragon" ist einer meiner liebsten boys Love, da ist es also kein Wunder, dass ich auch "Taming the Tiger" eine Chance geben musste und genauso wenig ist es ein Wunder, dass auch diese Reihe mir sehr gut gefällt.

Angefangen beim Zeichenstil, aber auch die Charaktere und die Story sind sehr interessant. Insbesondere auch die Zeit, in der die Handlung spielt.

Bin gespannt, wie die Geschichte und die Beziehung der zwei Protagonisten in den nächsten Bänden verläuft und kann Band 2 kaum abwarten.

I cannot hold back my tears in the last chapters. Like, what the hell! I read all that traumatic events just to get a happy ending, which I received at the end, though a bittersweet one and at the cost of their demise first. You can never be too sure with these historical romances I'm telling you. Beom-ah!! My heart aches for him. The way he held Geumhu at the end... It was just too much for me. But I love their story all the same. I do recommend it but be cautious, because your heart is going to have a rollercoaster ride with a lot of bumpy and unexpected turns.

Ame este manhwa, aunque hubo algunas escenas innecesarias la trama sigue siendo conmovedora. No se trata únicamente de un afecto romántico, sino de una necesidad mutua para existir y resistir. Su amor se convierte en un refugio, una pulsión que los mantiene en pie y que incluso los guía a reencontrarse en otra vida. Me hizo llorar con los capítulos finales, pese a que me agradaría que hubiera acabado de forma trágica. Bwat nunca decepciona, supo darle esa chispa de consuelo que transforma el dolor en un cierre digno.

I’ve read a lot of mangas and manhwas, most of them are so repetitive that it all mixes together, most of the time i won’t even remember the names of the characters or their faces even when i see fanart but this one hits different. I don’t understand how can someone write such a heart aching story? The art was beautiful no doubt, but there are many books with beautiful art. How did they come up with such loveable characters, why was it a happy ending but still made everyone cry. I loved it and i know that i will re-read it again and again.

I want to comment on the Taiwanese version of the print: bad. It doesn't mean that the printing material is bad, but rather the content. Each panel is just like cut and paste from the webtoon version. There is no extra effort to tidy up the appearance of each webtoon panel so that it is easier and more comfortable to read in the printed version.
The bonuses from special edition are also so-so.

It's a bit dissapointing, honestly.

This story definitely caught me by surprise. Maybe potn ruined me but everytime I see a cold beauty princeling with phoenix eyes I just feel dread for their boyfriend lol! However, Geum ho turned out to be such a sweet person and I just adore their relationship so much. Beom is absolutely adorable too. I love crybaby top!
I ended up crying in the end because I’m weak for the whole ‘I’ll find you in the next life’ type shit.
Overall such a lovely read if you don’t mind some angst.

estoy impactada de lo mucho que amé esta historia, y aunque puede que no sea una historia tan única y diferente la forma en la que la autora le da vida y esa personalidad tan única a los personajes hizo que me enamorara de ellos, sentía mucha desesperación por ellos y como no podían mostrar su amor por las circunstancias, pero cuando reencarnaron y volvieron a toparse es ahí cuando volví a creer en el amor 😭

Me hubiera gustado más si el contenido explícito no hubiera sido tan repetitivo (cada dos capítulos). Y si ignoro lo funable y hasta problemática que es la historia, la disfruté porque Ahn Geumhu es un buen personaje con una dualidad fascinante. Pero… ¿Beom? Más allá del físico, no destacaba en nada especial.

I enjoyed this manhwa deeply. Finished it in just under 2 days. It’s rare to see such fields of green green flags from the beginning when it comes to Boys Love type manhwas. Plot needs a bit more tightening but overall a really fun read.

This manhwa is completed up to chapter 80 and is a completed work.

Im not even counting this as being a book I read since it’s so short and not printed.

HOWEVER, I needed to add it to my list so I never forget it. The amount of ugly crying I did reading this? Those last few chapters almost took my life. Such a bittersweet ending. DAMNIT 😭😭
