I normally don't have any problems writing reviews (not that they're great or anything), but I can honestly say that I truly don't know how to describe this series. It's not that it was bad, the first few stories were really intriguing. However, the latter part of the series was a bit drawn out, mostly due to the continuous focus on certain characters. The title of this series was certainly appropriate, yet it was also very understated. The cases that this unit handled were twisted, atrocious, abhorrent, and every single other word/description that's available, and many that haven't been thought of yet. This book is definitely one of the most monstrous, outrageous, despicable, and loathsome collection of stories that I have ever read. As someone who loves thrillers, mysteries, and horror stories, it takes a lot to shock or surprise me, but this is a series that managed to do just that. I will warn those who are sensitive to horrific tragedies, explicit descriptions, or diabolical psychological attacks, this may not be a book for you. It contains all of these and more. I would recommend this book and author.
Gosh I don't really know where to begin. I first picked this series of books by chance. I started getting really into them because they all seemed so new and fresh. As I got into the 5th book I think, everything started getting really weird, And I didn't like it. The plot started getting very strange and I felt like it was really getting stupid. Then it finally started to recover by the 8th book. No matter what, I absolutely loathe Luke Titan. I also think that too much stress was put on Christian. I mean how many times could the poor guy keep getting beaten up and almost killed. I did like his mental abilities and what he was able to do with them, But the mansion bit was pretty weird. Luke Titan should have been killed right near the very beginning. He was evil personified And I never understood why he would be so horribly cruel to Christian for no good reason. All in all I had to get through all 8 books, but it wasn't easy. Actually I really enjoyed reading them
I waited until finishing all 8 books before writing a review. Daniel Scott has a gift, the main characters of this series ( classic antagonist and protagonist) Christian and Luke are genius. Honestly I hope this series inspires more authors to write about our fellow individuals with autism and their potential. I don't want to spoil the twists and turns of this series but I'd be remiss to say 2/8 books in this series, in my opinion, took the mansion, the other and the other characters created by Christian just too far ( I guess my logical brain had difficult with the fantastic here). That being said, this series is one you shouldn't skip. On to book 9!!
How does one write a review about 8 books? It's simpler than I thought it would be. I cannot describe them in one word...but...I can sure do it in two...MIND BENDER!!! Look up the definition...seriously!!! I promise...It is completely accurate. If this description intrigues you...then, read the books. They are worth the time.
