Where every decision carries consequences, the answer may not be as clear-cut as it seems.
In my world, love and danger are two sides of the same coin. Where trust is a luxury and betrayal is a constant threat, I navigate the treacherous alliances and deadly power struggles of the mafia with ease. But when her voice cuts through the darkness of the club, something stirs inside me that I thought long buried.
She's captivating, her every note a siren call that draws me closer. I find myself irresistibly drawn to her, unaware of the danger lurking beneath her angelic facade. Little do I know, she's the daughter of a rival boss, a fact that could spell disaster for both of us.
As our forbidden attraction deepens, so does the risk. Every stolen moment with her is a gamble, a dangerous wager when the price is her life. Yet, I can't stay away. The pull between us is undeniable, defying the boundaries of our feuding families.
But as tensions rise and secrets threaten to unravel, our love is put to the ultimate test. Will we defy the odds and find a way to be together, or will the shadows of our truths tear us apart? Loyalty is paramount in my world, but so is the woman who has the potential to capture my heart. As the lines between right and wrong blur, I'm forced to confront the choices that led me here. Will I betray my family for love, or sacrifice the woman I love for the sake of loyalty?

IN KINDLE I READ DANTE BOOK3 IN THIS SERIES. IN GOODREADS IT APPEARS TO BE CALLED SOMETHING ELSE AND THE BLURB DOESN’T MATCH AND ISN’T RELATED TO THE DANTE STORY. WEIRD!!!
This review relates to the book called Dante DeLuca: Bad Boy Marriage of Convenience.
I don’t know what happened with this story but it is really bad. For a start, the whole thing is rushed. We aren’t given time to get to know the main characters, we don’t even get told anything about what Genesis looks like. We’re given a brief description of Dante but it’s not until 70% in that we’re given anything of detail as minimal as that is.
We have no back story. Nothing to give us a buy in into the main characters. There’s Dante’s grandmother and because we are told he’s black (although he’s really mixed race as his father was white) it’s not until 70% in we’re told his grandmother is Italian too and his grandfather was Afro-American.
Genesis has a daughter, we have no idea of how old she is. It’s initially alluded to and eventually later on in the story, confirmed she’s Chant’s daughter.
As readers we need enough information so we can imagine and feel invested in the characters. This book didn’t do enough in that regard.
I liked the idea of giving a chapter over to the ‘baddie’ in this case Chant. But in both cases 3/4 of the chapter was repetitive and it could have been much shorter.
Things didn’t make sense. The MMC is an unknown brother who’s had nothing to do with the rest of the family. Next he’s taking his bride to his home, which happens to be the house his father used to own but we’re not told how it became his home. When did he get it? The timeline suggests that the meeting of the brothers, the rescuing of Genesis and the marriage all happened within same day, if not a few days. I had a headache trying to work this book out.
Very little attention to detail. I find it hard to believe that an editor read this book. If they did, they did Jade a real disservice.
This is an enthralling tale of love, loyalty, and danger that had me engage from start to finish. I enjoyed these captivating characters that are amazing with a relationship that is entertaining and filled with vengeance. The couple has a sizzling chemistry that burn up the pages. The story is full of discovery and family. It has a strong man who is handsome and very loyal when it comes to his family. There are interesting twists with lots of action and excitement. This has moment's that will have you wanting revenge because of it's nature and topic of content, I am happy say that I am enjoying this series. Dante and Genesis story it's intriguing and enjoyable it's a Mafia experience that will have you turning the pages until the end. I enjoy every moment of this couple's relationship theirs is the kind that I can't put my reader down until I finished the story if you are like myself you will enjoy it because this is definitely a excellent mafia romance!. I really enjoyed this story its a must read.
Whether you grew up in the DeLuca world or not, I guess you still have that savage bloodline running through you. I enjoyed Dante and Genesis story. They both were in need of someone to love them in spite of the pain that they carried. They found that love on each other. The other thing that I felt was missing was Dante's back story. Did he have a relationship with his Dad. How did his Dad and Mom meet. What was their relationship. Even though that was overlooked, it still was a good story.
The book was pretty good. The only thing I didn’t like was that in the beginning, you called the daughter Mia, then you changed it to Gia and then it was back to Mia so it had me confused as to what her name was. I normally only read BWWM/BWAM stories, but this was a pretty good book with a biracial male lead. Dante and Genesis made a great couple.
A great twist to this intriguing love story! A brother from the same daddy, but a different mother, dealing with a prognosis of MS, desiring a family, abuse, and possession. Mixing all those ingredients together made for a good reading except for the little girl’s name change in two chapters!💚🦋
I was happy that I read the Deluca series before this one so that I would understand it a little more. Dante and Genesis went through it and came out on the other side. he helped her fight her demons and healed her heart at the same time. I always love the overlapping stories. helps me to understand. kinda like an ongoing epilogue.
I felt like somethings were missing from the story. For him to be a doctor, it didn't show it in the story and also didn't know his granny was white until later on. What I couldn't believe was both of them agreed to get married so quickly without knowing each other, crazy.
