Mitch and Everleigh will have you swooning!
If you’re familiar with the Corrupt Cowboys series by Emma Creed, then you are, without a doubt, familiar with our resident “father figure”, Mitch. He has proven his loyalty over and over again, along with his love for the Carson brothers, having been directly involved with their upbringing.
That said, when Jimmer Carson, from Colorado, calls Mitch for a favor, he doesn’t expect what he finds. Everleigh, the sister of one of the new “old ladies” at the Dirty Soul compound in Colorado, has been rescued from a cult. She is petrified, having experienced all the negativity that one can experience being a “wife” to an “elder” who has no use for women, except for them to play one role…as you can imagine.
That said, as you read on, you will find out exactly how awful Everleigh’s life had been till now. When Mitch meets her, she’s extremely skittish and has extreme difficulty with any kind of human touch- nor does she want to communicate at all. Please make no mistake, though timid, Everleigh is by no means, weak. Her strength and courage are shown through her thoughts, her actions, and the decisions that she makes throughout the story. That said, Mitch, though sometimes gruff and overbearing with the men on the ranch, takes this opportunity to show his other side…and I surely was not disappointed!
Once Mitch brings Everleigh back to the Carson ranch, to one of the remote cabins, Everleigh now has a chance to heal. But will Mitch be able to bring her around again? But of course, this wouldn’t be an Emma Creed book if there weren’t secrets and twists and turns every step of the way. But I’ll leave those for you to find out yourself.
This story isn’t simply a story about revenge. There is plenty of that, but there is also heartbreak (I was brought to tears. Not gonna lie.), anger, love, and even some redemption. We are surrounded by the characters that we know and love, and see the important part that they play in Everleigh’s healing.
I have to say, this was probably my favorite story so far of the Corrupt Cowboys- and that’s saying something. I highly recommend this story- just make sure you have some tissues and chocolates with you!
