Well, when i started this book i expected a ghost mystery, I knew it is going to be a mystery but I expected to understand something for the Woman in white, but there was nothing except one theory and how Jone became paranoid and there were many deviations from the main story - memories of Jenny when her car broke and things like that, things with no connection to the story.
And the end really disappointed me, nothing was explained or finished. We still don't know who is the Woman in white is there any connection between her and John's wife, are their dreams have any meaning.
It was a nice read, but a little bit disapointing.
It starts good, it haves good story but in the final chapter, the story it's a little bit messy and they cut awful the story. It didn't understand how was the lady in white or what relation she has with the story or the characters (?)
I am a HUGE fan of horror. I just love how my skin tingles and my heart pounds when I read those scary, horror novels. Just like every human being should have a daily dose of humour, he/she should also have a daily dose of horror. My favorite horror author is Edgar Allan Poe, he is the KING of horror. No one can write as well as Poe, not even Colin Campbell. But still, The Lady In White was SCARY, literally! I loved the idea, the storyline is very well developed but the end was just not meaningful! The end was not satisfying at all. But if you want a darkly enjoyable read, this will be the one!
The writing was bad but the buildup was good, so although this book was clearly intended for a younger reader, I was bummed that the ending wasn't freakier. I have to admit that it was novel... it's not often that seeing a ghost can be both frightening and a relief at the same time... but it was way tamer than I was hoping for.
Cambridge level4 -180min -White, tape recorder, hitch hiker, trip, family, rainy, dream -do you wan to hitch hike to travel? No, because it is too scary to get on stranger's car. -this story is interesting because I can' t expect what's gonna happen end of the story.
Kind of scary at some points (don't let this scare you off, I get scared VERY easily). It just keeps you reading to find out what the heck is going on.
en ciertas parte de verdad senti miedo, soy nuevo leyendo en este idioma y es el primero que leo de este genero. lleno de nuevo bocavulario que aprender.
3. This book has a great mystery. That was the reason I chose this book; however, when I finished it, I saw that I really do not like mystery. Actually I like mysterious story, but at the end of the story I wish to learn all things. While story was continuing, it should keep mystery, but when we came to end. It should explain all mysteries. This book finishes with significant mystery. Thorough the story we read about a woman who wear white dress, but we do not know who she is. Hence, if I have a chance to change the setting in this story, I would change the last part and I would add the information about the lady in white.
15. The story is about two TV-producers, John and Jenny, who want to make a new program about urban myths. There is a story about a hitch-hiker, the lady in white. When a man picked her up she started to cry, she had a problem with her car. The driver didn’t see a car. Suddenly she started to scream. The car started go wild, she put her hands on the steering wheel, and pulled it. The car turned around. She opened the door and was gone.
John said that’s how I met Rachel, his wife. The same place and she was dressed in white. They have a one year old son. John en Jenny talked to the police in the village. The police told about a terrible accident, the woman and a little boy both killed by the accident, the boy just as old as John’s son. John was trying to forget the story and went on a holiday. On this holiday he had a nightmare There was a man who takes his son. He told John that little babies always come back.
After his holiday he didn’t go to his work. He went to the place where he had met Rachel. He doesn’t now what he must think about the story. Then after a several days he saw a hitch-hiker. When she wants to open the door, he drove away. He hadn’t seen her face. He takes his phone and called Rachel, he has to know if it was she. Nobody answered the phone. Was she the hitch-hiker, where was she? After a while Rachel answered the phone, she was already going to sleep.
The book named ‘The lady in white’ is a scary story. Jenny told John some story which she had heard through radio. On man met one lady who was wearing white clothes, when he is on his way from Brighton. He gave a ride for her to the garage because she said that her car didn’t work. A strange thing is that she was wet even it wasn’t rain. She acted strange. She cried and suddenly screamed. She screamed that they lost control and she suddenly pulled the steering wheel of the car. She act as if she wanted kill him and herself. He shouted her. After that, she suddenly disappeared. When Jenny let him heard this story. He was so nervous because this story was what he underwent. But how could the man who told this story on the radio knew his story. However, there were three men who had this experience. They said that the women escaped a psychiatric hospital. In my opinion, this book is not really interesting. I don’t have any idea of this book. It is just scary story. I don’t want to recommend to my classmates. But the book is written as easy word so people can read easy and fast. At first, I think the lady is ghost so I didn’t want to read, when I went to go bed. However, the woman was just a patient. It makes me relief.
1. The lady in white / Collin Campbell 2. 5 July / about 130 minutes 3. Television producer / record tape / new program / white dress / accident / hitchhiker / worry 4. The policeman tell them about a lady and the 1-year-old boy who were in accident at the same place before. / when I read this sentence, I feel fear. 5. I don't like this book because the story is mystery, and it is difficult to understand for me. Especially, the last scene was boring so I didn't understand if Rachel and the lady in a white dress were the same person or not.

i think this book is the best book ever,it is about a man and his wife and kid who lives in a house. one day he realise his wife and his son disapperd.
when you read this story you can't have a break you want to know what is going to happen next.
honestly i havent read it yet but i think it is great story though.
Its my first book in English that i read, i liked the story, the writer how he is describing things, and how he is connecting the event and also talking about more than one thing in the same time. It was nice experience to read such as this kind of story 'ghost story', although i enjoyed reading it.
Got this book from the library at my school more than ten years ago, and I still think about it all the time. I couldn't remember the name for a long time, and frankly, the storyline is blurry to me now. It was just one of those books that you read as a kid and haunts you throughout your life, ya' know? I'm thinking about rereading it sometime soon...
dos palabras: PUTA MIERDA le pongo una estrella porque no se puede poner menos, si te lo tienes que leer por obligación como yo prepárate para sufrir con esta mierda de libro que es pesado y repetitivo
i adore it's simple easy reading story and in the beginning you think you face a very tragic adventurous story and you trace the story until the end and you expect some awful evidence would happen then but it results in a happy evidence .
Îi dau 3 stele pentru că sfârşitul a fost puţin previzibil şi pentru că vocabularul putea să fie mai complex. Se repetă de prea multe ori unele cuvinte şi structuri.
