Is this the last book? I feel like the ending of the chapter did not really clarify if something more would be occurring? And seemed to end out of nowhere which was my issue with book two as well, but are we done?

Spoilers probably ahead.

What just happened to this series? So much was crammed into this small book. We get her final battle with the queens sort of? A trip to the underworld with hangout times with Lucifer where nothing happened, the. She connects finally with Nathan and then "poof" one big happy family eating breakfast.

I will be looking up if this is the last book because obviously I still have questions and lingering relationship issues that have yet to be resolved. I also am bummed that this book though had a few more sex scenes really didn't have the same relationship connection as the previous two books. Nathan comes out of nowhere. She doesn't even really see or speak to him for two whole books then BAM! Mates. Obv.

I also feel like she got more helpless and whiny as this series progressed which is confusing because she was finally becoming herself and at peace with her magical side and somehow she's this shy demure girl that blushes constantly. Do we not remember she is in her 30s? Not her early 20s trying to find herself and her sexuality? Idk. I think I really liked the idea behind these books but the farther I got into them the less it worked.

Each of these books is a great read. The way Sara enhances each relationship through every book is masterful. How she manages to explore both complications of dhampir relationships with other supernaturals as well as explore the difficulties of a poly relationship is a beautiful balance. This is a why choose that is far beyond just spice, but deeper relationships, healing, and bonding.

While this book was enjoyable, there were a couple things that kept me from giving it four stars like I did its predecessors.
1. In the first two books, the pacing was fast, always containing a sense of urgency. Not so in this book. The pacing was consistently slower and I found myself pretty bored with all the living room talks.
2. We find out in this book who is behind the kidnappings, but this seemed to resolve itself a little too quickly. You'll know what I mean when you read it.
3. The chemistry just wasn't there this time around ... Not sure why.

ARC Review: Claiming the last Dhampir
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

“Claiming the Last Dhampir” by Sara Sines is a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, earning a well-deserved 4.5 stars. The story follows the protagonist’s journey to find peace and embrace her true self while navigating dangerous and powerful enemies. The emotional depth and character development are compelling, particularly in the protagonist’s relationships with the men who love her.

One minor critique is the limited space given to the romance between the female main character (FMC) and Nathan, which felt long-awaited over 2.5 books. Nonetheless, the narrative is enriched with great spice and a well-paced plot, making for a quick and entertaining read. The open-ended conclusion hints at potential future expansions in this captivating world. Overall, “Claiming the Last Dhampir” is a delightful mix of action, romance, and fantasy, keeping readers engaged and eager for more.

Thank you to @literaryinspired and Sara Sines for providing me with and ARC to review!

This was such an amazing end to this trilogy! The world building (especially the Underworld...) was done to perfection and really rounded up all the characters. I really enjoyed the personal growth and depth in all the men but especially in Lorna. Her self acceptance through her struggles really speaks to everyone that will read about her! I wouldn't mind some bonus scenes in future though.. And excited to read more about Lucifer and Underwolrd

I absolutely loved this series and I didn’t want this book to end! I really hope we get snippets of them going forward or another book down the road with a continuation of their adventures. Everything about each character and their journey was unique and kept you rooting for all of them and their journey. I loved Lorna and Mir and the dedication they had to learning each other while keeping everyone safe too. I can’t pick a favorite guy they all were special and fun in their own way. I’m so happy to have found Sara’s work and can’t wait to see where we’re taken next! The world building was excellent and really drew you into the story.

Yet again Sara has created another perfectly amazing read!!! Getting to see how each relationship is formed and the difficulties they overcome to accept a shared mate is just *chefs kiss*. Watching Lorna and Mir realize how accepted they are by their guys is really heart warming, considering they never really felt this way before. And of course the banter between Mir and Lorna brings so much laughter throughout the book! You guys need to pick up this series!

Sara, thank you so much for this outstanding series, a type I never thought I would read! Absolutely loved every single word on the pages!

Dhampir showdown

Book three was very good. Fae playing at taking over the world, playing with species. The underworld was not what I expected at all. Everything that happened down there was pretty special for our dhampir. The power these mates can generate makes me believe that we are going to be seeing more of them.

DNF 25%
RATE: 3/5

⚠️MAJOR SPOILERS (1-3)⚠️

Before I get into why I DNF’d… let me give credit where it’s due.

I really enjoyed the first book! I loved the suspense and mystery surrounding the FL’s identity. She gave off badass energy that instantly pulled me in. The way she carried herself? Megan Fox vibes, but make it blonde with hazel eyes. Yeah, I was eating that up.

The introduction of the MLs had me hopeful, too, especially Nathan. I genuinely thought this was going to be a dark romance cocktail with flavors of Blade, Underworld, and Jennifer’s Body. I mean, come on- vampires? Demons? Werewolves? The setup was there. I was expecting intensity, danger, and maybe a little blood-dripping seduction. But… we’ll get to that later.

Let’s stay on the positive for now.

The series is labeled as a slow burn, but honestly, I’d say it leans more into medium burn territory, especially considering each book barely crosses 200+ pages. When I think slow burn, I’m expecting 300–400+ pages of tension and buildup. That wasn't the case here, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bummed about it.

Also, the way the FL meets all the MLs around the same time made it a bit blurry, distinguishing them—aside from their species. Like, okay, Nathan’s the vampire, Damon’s the demon... and every time Elliot’s POV popped up, I had to pause and remember, “Oh right—he’s the werewolf.” 😅 Not a dealbreaker, just a little “wait who is this again” moment each time.

What really got me was the missed potential. This world could've been so rich and layered, but instead, it felt like we stayed trapped in the FL’s little bubble wherever she went. There was a whole universe just waiting to be built, but the story never truly stepped into it. And honestly? It saddens me and my homegirls. This could’ve been that girl… but she just didn’t show up.

♡♡♡♡

Now, there were definitely some plot holes that could’ve been wrapped up more cleanly—starting with the FL’s ex-boyfriend, Bryan.

At first, I didn’t think much of it. He’s introduced in the first book with this semi-dramatic moment where the FL is packing her things, and Bryan is begging her to stay. He’s clearly hurt, asking her to work through the resentment she’s holding onto. And despite that, she still chooses to leave—for his safety, no less. That moment made it seem like Bryan had a deeper role to play later… but nope. That was it. He’s never mentioned again.

So I thought, okay, maybe it was just closure for her past. But then, in the second book, the FL casually says she’s never been truly happy in any of her previous relationships—and that her exes, including Bryan, didn’t satisfy her sexually. Hmm… okay, fair...

But then, here’s where the wires start crossing...she also says she can’t sleep with anyone unless she has a deep emotional connection. And that she admires people who can separate intimacy from emotion, but she just can’t. Which, honestly? Makes sense.

So now I’m sitting here like... wait a minute.

•You claimed your ex didn’t satisfy you.
•You said you’ve never been truly happy in a relationship.
•But you also said you need an emotional connection to even be intimate with someone…

So what was Bryan, then? A casual hookup? Because that’s not what it looked like in Book 1. That was a whole man you cared enough about to break up with for his own protection.

It’s giving contradiction. It’s giving plot hole. It’s giving “we were supposed to circle back to Bryan and just never did.”

Justice for Bryan, LMAO. If he wasn’t going to matter, he could’ve just been mentioned briefly. But the way his exit was framed? It really felt like a setup for something… and then crickets.

And speaking of side male characters, let’s take a moment to talk about Jared—the vampire security guard who worked for the villain and was assigned to watch over the FL.

Now, if he was just meant to be a background character who dies, that’s fine—but the way he was written? It gave off way more presence than a throwaway role. When the FL bit him and he replied, “My turn,” I was genuinely intrigued. That line had main character energy. I thought, “Oh? Are we about to get a surprise vampire ML?” It felt like the start of something… sexy, even.

But then… nope. She rips his head off, and he turns to ashes.

Later, she mentions him again—saying he wasn’t rude but also didn’t try to help her in any real way, so his death was kind of inevitable. And I get that logic… but it still felt a little abrupt. If he was meant to be a one-and-done character, I wish his dialogue had reflected that more. Because as a reader, I definitely thought there was more to him based on how he was introduced. And that it was going to be a slow-burn of a captive/captor plotline.

Especially when you compare him to someone like Johan, a friend of one of the MLs, who had info on where the FL was being held and never really helped either. Yet he’s still around and totally unbothered. That contrast just stood out to me.

And...OMG wait- I forgot about her work partner Sean. What happened to his ass? He was quite protective of her even if they didn't like each other as people/lovers. However, that thought was still brought up. Smh, I almost forgot about him since he was in the early chapters of Book 1.
♡♡♡♡

Now, let’s get into the final reveal—and why I ultimately DNF’d this book.

I had a really hard time with the FL and her Dhameir. At first, it stood out to me as a beige flag—something a little off, but not a dealbreaker. But as the story progressed, that beige flag started deep-frying itself into a bright red one🚩.

So, the FL says she doesn't have D.I.D., and I don’t think it was ever truly explained what exactly caused her to develop these “personas,” especially since we’re told she didn’t grow up with any trauma. Instead, it’s kind of hand-waved away by saying that Fae need mental organization—like, compartments in the brain to store memories and emotions. Think the movie Inside Out , but each emotion is a whole conscious being… and in this case, one of them just happens to be her Dhameir side.

That’s where it lost me. Because unlike her previous “personas”—which are still her, just different facets of her identity. This Dhameir named Mir is written like a completely separate being… but with access to the FL’s body and memories. UH UH. No ma’am.

And honestly, I have to give the author some props here—the creativity of making the classic “female best friend” in a harem story literally the main character herself? That was wild. Usually we’re used to the bestie showing up as her own person, not living rent-free in the MC’s mind. And yet… here we are.

The FL has full-on conversations with Mir in her head. They argue, they clash, they agree but don't on things. It’s one thing to say “this is a part of me,” but the book keeps flipping between "this is me" and "this is her." You can’t have it both ways!

And THIS paragraph right here had me squinting at my screen like, BFFR!

“I thought you liked it when I told you what I wanted? Could you pretend to be submissive?” Mir asked, sliding the fingertips of her other hand along the edge of his waistband.

“Not for long, just long enough for me to torture you with a little pleasure.” Elliott grabbed my wrists, but he didn’t pull them away. His pupils were completely dilated, and his chest heaved with each of his breaths.

Mir slid my fingers along his waistband until they met at the button in the center. The tips of my fingers brushed against the soft skin on the head of his c*ck. Elliott groaned and snatched my hands away from his pants."

Like—HELLO?! That’s not the FL. That’s Mir. And the FL is just... watching?? Through her own eyes like some bystander in her own body while another version of herself is out here getting handsy?! It felt less like a character expressing a different side of herself and more like another woman entirely taking over. And if I wanted that, I would've picked up a poly book with multiple female leads.

Instead of reading like a dominant side of the FL, it felt like Mir was her own person, and that completely changed the dynamic. Suddenly, this wasn’t giving MFMMM anymore—it was giving MFMFMM: four men, and now two women, but in one body.

And yeah… I don’t like that. At all.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Overall, I’ll admit—it’s really more of a preference thing.

There’s nothing technically wrong with the story, and I can see why others might enjoy it. But for me, certain elements just didn’t vibe with what I personally look for in a reverse harem.

Like for example—in Book 2, there was a moment where I thought we were about to dip into MM territory, even though the book claims there’s none. Case in point:

"Kenrid didn’t release my hands. When I looked up at him, he was watching Damon with a surprised expression. When Damon’s hands moved to Kenrid’s waist, my mouth dropped open.

Damon deftly unbuttoned Kenrid’s jeans, then slid the zipper down. I just knew my lady bits were about to catch fire. Damon’s dick might be in danger of joining them.

I took advantage of Kenrid’s momentary shock and jerked my hands free, then batted Damon’s away from my fae. Damon chuckled as my fingers replaced his on Kenrid’s waistband."

Now listen—if that ain’t toeing the line of MM, I don’t know what is. 😭
Honestly, it might’ve just been some playful fan service by the author, but still… it definitely had me doing a double take.

I can’t speak for how the final book plays out, but it was good while it lasted. I was entertained, confused, intrigued, and side-eyeing—so at least I felt something. But yeah, it was time to let this one go.

Onto a new book I go! 🏃‍♀️📚✨
♡♡♡♡

For people with preferences...

1V4 ( Hybrid FL, Vampire 🧛‍♂️, Demon 😈, Fae🧚‍♂️, Werewolf 🐺 MLs)
Medium Burn Pace📖
NO M/M❌️ (however fan-service. Mentioned above.)

OW Drama? Eh. Not outside the harem. FL has another entity in her body who has her own consciousness. FL dont mind. However, it might not be 'safe' for other readers. Mentioned above.

OM Drama? Yeah. Not outside the harem. Men gets jealous of each other, even break out into fights. They compromise, tho.

NO insane hard triggers you'll find in dark romance.❌️ FL got kidnapped once, not assault except mind games/manipulation. Also, mentions of murd*rs of children and innocent people. Happens in past.

FL is more emotionally mature than some FLs in books I previously read. She apologizes when she actually does something wrong, and she asks for consent, knowing how dangerous she can be.

Older Main leads (FL is in her 30s, same with MLs some is centuries old.)

Coming into these books I was unsure about them because it’s new to what I’ve previously read but honestly I loved it so much and will be diving deeper into similar tropes etc.!

This was such a great way to end the series! The personal growth was incredible! And the story itself was just so much fun to read! I never felt like I was ever bored and just really enjoyed it! I read it quite fast too cause I just didn’t want to put it down.

Definitely sad it’s over but will be picking up anything else Sara writes ❤️

I don't know why I read all the three books. I realised I don't actually enjoy the serie. Sometimes even if the first book is not the full ten, plot is enough interesting and keep evolving, it is funny or hot or characters are enough interesting to get to known. Not in this case. The male characters were too similar. Even though there was chapters from their points of view, it was hard to remember who was talking because they were all the same. And there was not interesting mainplot. I was also disappointed that writer didn't use any sidecaharacters from first book. There really was nothing exept the main female and her men, who were not difference enough from each others. It got superboring. I also got wibes there was a lot of same kind of stuff I just have read from different authors, just more lame.

One good thing was that that Female main character was not a total innocent teenager. I mean she was in the first book, now it seems author sometimes forgotten she supposed to be cool adult with army backround.

Should have been longer

This is rare but it's a good book that isn't long enough. There are a lot of hanging plotlines that are unresolved which is frustrating. Perhaps the story started to big for the author's time or interest but there is at least another 2 books for the series to draw to a natural conclusion but with the story as it is now.

This book was a nice conclusion to this Trilogy. We finally see Lorna claim all her guys. I was so excited when she finally was able to get Nathan and Elliot. I will say the reveal just makes me want to stay in this world even longer. I don't want it to end. Being able to see how things could be with everyone just felt like a taste. I'd gladly jump back into this world to learn more about the guys or even to see how Lorna grows from here. There was fighting and reveals and just ugh...so much. We meet the fae queens in this book and the king of the underworld himself!

The spice in this book was ok. I was kinda hoping we were going to get what we were teased with but alas Sara edged us into oblivion. I'd give the spice a 3 out of 5. It was ok. Since the book is short it didn't get too hot and heavy. Overall I give this book a 3. I wanted a little more from this book. It could have been longer considering it was the ending of this series. I will say it has wet my appetite for more! I wouldn't be opposed to jumping into another characters life in this world. It's interesting how the different supernatural races interact with each other and how the vary. I'd recommend this series to anyone looking for paranormal romance with a dash of fantasy thrown in. It is a nice short Trilogy that will leave you wanting more!

This was a really intriguing storyline and was kind of a nice break from the predictability of some. The dhampir concept was new for me and not a paranormal creature I'd read about before. This is a why choose romance so be aware of that as you read. Each book is actually a quick read. There's a lot of story in each for averaging 200 pages. Lorna grows a lot as a character from book one when she didn't know what she was to book three and claiming her own identity and being claimed by her hunky men. I think there's room for a spin off series to happen with supporting characters and it would be nice to see Lorna and he guys again, especially Mir.

If I had one complaint it would be that this book was not long enough! I am very glad there will be more of this series because damn, I was really looking forward to some more group work...and while there was a lot of growth for the characters everything just felt like it wrapped up a bit too fast. But that might be a me problem based on the length of books on my read list 😅

Some interesting new developments were revealed though, I can't wait to find out what the deal is with with Lord of the Underworld.

This was going to be 2.5 stars but that non-ending was terrible.

We’re having breakfast, talking about some things she could do for a job, and then that’s it. Plus bonus smut scenes.

The longer the story went on, the less the FMC was the tough, smart woman from book one.

The Mir thing got more and more annoying bc if she’s a full person / personality- then I actually feel bad that she’s stuck in Lorna’s body lol.

I really liked the premise of the first book but it was more of a slow descent into boring than a slow burn.

Great

This book made me laugh. I just love the banter between Lorna and Mir. I love all things magic and supernatural and this had it all. It also left it open for more books in that world without leaving on a cliffhanger. I really do hope we get to read Lucifer's story next.

Ooh that went downhill fast. wtf is that ending. Is that it? I feel like nothing actually happened in this book, it was anti climactic and the FMC became annoying? How’d she go from strong army badass to whimpering fool?
This is the last book? Surely not. It just doesn’t make sense
