Catch Purchased its release week for a discounted price!

Kidnapped as a child and raised in the Tower, my life has been dedicated to becoming the deadliest, and most seductive assassin.

My skills come with a price—my freedom. My mistress promises me that if I complete one last job.

Seduce the Dragon Prince.

I’ve taken down powerful men before, but they all pale in comparison to the rumored last dragon.

Lianthore Faeborne saw me coming a mile away and with wealth and privilege on his side, my mistress wanted a hefty price tag for him to walk away with me.

According to him, I'm his fated mate, but he doesn't even know that I'm still on the job. I'll pretend to be his fated mate if it'll get him to trust me. With my freedom on the line, I have no choice.

Yet, he's nothing like how I was trained to see him. Even I can't help but get lost in those blazing soft crimson eyes. Getting to know him is trouble; the deeper I fall for him, the harder it’ll be to betray the man I love.

Purchased is a Rapunzel retelling and book two in the Faeborne Brides series. Each book focuses on a different brother(and a different retelling)as they come into power once they take a bride. If you like captive romances, forced marriages, arrogant Elven heroes, and feisty Black heroines who can tame any man, with a sprinkle of Dominance and submission, you've come to the right place!

I thought this book was pretty good. I’m always up for reading a fairytale retelling and I loved that this one featured a Black female lead. It took me a little while to realize that this was a Rapunzel retelling, but I thought the elements of the fairytale worked well. It was interesting making Rapunzel–Siobhan—in this instance an assassin and sex worker. I found that the author made Siobhan really sympathetic and I understood why she’d make the choices she did. I liked the Elf prince, Lianthore, he was what you’d expect from a fairytale prince, though not particularly memorable. Lianthore and Siobhan were fated mates, which is probably one of my favorite tropes in books and this one worked pretty well, it wasn’t insta-love which I appreciated. What I didn’t like mostly were the sex scenes, there were quite a few and a couple of them were jumpscares. I honestly didn’t find them particularly well-written, they were also longwinded, and the dialogue within them was pretty cringe. I could overlook that because the story itself was good. Also it doesn’t seem as if this book was edited or beta-read because there were so many typos and grammatical errors, it was distracting at times. Overall, I liked this book and would continue the series.

Fae and Human Collide

*****Spoilers*****

Siobhan is a human woman who was groomed from a young age to be a seductive assassin and courtesan. The environment she grew up in was full of competitiveness and jealousy while the madam, who she called mother, deprived her and the other "Roses" of most enjoyment. While on a mission, Rose has a brief encounter with Lianthore, the second born fae prince who in that brief interaction, recognizes Siobhan as his true mate. However, she escapes after a quick flight with him and Lianthore spends the next 8 years looking for her to no avail. Not until he attends an exclusive event at the pleasure palace where he intends to give up his search for good and indulge the sexual pleasures he's not engaged in since that chance scuffle with Siobahn. Instead, he reconnects with Siobhan who's his lure to get information about his dragon abilities.

Lianthore not only breaks the rules of the pleasure house by buying Siobahn, he ensures it with a threat to the mother madam. When he takes Siobahn with him, they bargain that she'll give him 3 months to court her and if after that time she doesn't want to marry him, she gets to leave. Siobahn, working as a plant wants the freedom her mother madam offered and at first has no problem going through with the information gathering because she initially only sees Lianthore as a mark. However, the more she learns about him and interacts with him and his family, she's slowly falling for him which is decidedly what she was told NOT to do. We get Lianthore's sad upbringing and willing vulnerability he shows Siobahn and her reciprocation as the story moves along until it's end.

I liked the different characters introduced, they were varied and distinguishable. Zaos was probably the one who changed for me the most, at first coming across as a little unhinged, then to being the fun brother, back to scary by the second epilogue. It was interesting watching Siobahn grow into more of her true self minus the shackles of the life she'd held but I also felt like it happened much faster than I would've expected for the amount of time she was a Rose. Also, after the opening, we don't really get to see much of Siobahn the assassin, just hints here and there with some of the stuff she can do. Lianthore was immensely devoted and I loved every second of it. I couldn't get into some of the role play and exchanged pet names between the Siobahn and Lianthore during their intimate times but several of the scenes are super steamy which for me is a huge plus.

The grammatical errors, spelling errors, and incorrect word usage distracts from a clean read. There were too many times, especially in later parts of the book, where I had to mentally correct the text to get to the meaning and there were several times I was confused trying to guess and moved on. This was a significant detriment to my enjoyment of the book.

Overall though, it was a well put together book and although I wouldn't mind reading some of the other brothers' stories, I also don't want to so I'm not yet sure if I'll continue.

This book!

I will give insight without too much spoiling . I enjoyed this book. It is heavier than Owned (book 1) , with the topic of abuse ranging in many forms. But it was still very enjoyable. The sadness of these topics, thankful didn’t consume the plot, so I wouldn’t’ label this a “ Sad romance story” , I would say it’s a dynamic romance story with trials and overcoming. Siobhan over coming her past of being a Rose . Lianthore overcoming he’s past and internal dilemmas. And their relationship together is what allowed them to triumph over these things .
- The family interaction is entertaining .
- There’s some great spice 🌶️🌶️ , Both leads like to be the boss which makes for some great switch scenes.
- The world building still aligns with the first book Owned. So very much fantastically fantasy.
-Over all this was a great follow up to book one . And I can’t wait to finish this series .

Ohh boy. I’m gonna try to keep it quick. All the issues I had in the first book are present in this book. I will say the falling in love did improve. But ohh man some of the sentences were repeating and that threw me off. I also was not a fan of Siobhan’s voice. It felt robotic. I guess it’s good she was so beautiful cause I can’t imagine her seducing anyone.

I can however appreciate the recipe of this book being predictable and repeatable to the first book. It helps distract from the limited world building we have access to.

At this point I’ll probably continue the series but I was sad to see that there is supposed to be 6 books in this series? With 7 brothers I don’t like that at all. I think we can all predict which brother doesn’t get a book and I hope if I’m right the author reconsiders that decision.

If it’s another brother for an entirely different reason then I DESPERATELY hope the author reconsiders.

🥹😏😳

It took me a while took finish this book. The story was reality intriguing with two very complex and scarred characters. Both with unique and diverse story's yet with like internal wounds that were still quite critical to their progress in life, and their development as a couple.
I am still quite new to Fae life and don't understand a lot of what is happening throughout. It would be nice to have a glossary or even references for research on the topic added to your future stories.
I will be looking forward to the remaining 5 brothers stories.

stood well against the first book

I am not a enemies to lovers girlie or a slow burn girl so this book took me a while to make it through. I definitely enjoyed it far more than any other enemies to lovers I just wish the pace was a bit faster in the beginning. I love that I got to see the characters continue to develop from the first book and look forward to meeting the next bride!

I wanted this to work but I couldn’t force myself to finish it. My hopes were high based off of books one, but this one? Not for me. I was confused a lot and idk if it was because of the writing style and/or grammatical errors that made it hard to read. The story felt choppy.

I thought the idea of them being Roses was cute though.

Good read

Purchased for me wasn't as great as Owned. It dragged on and didn't actually get good until near the end where Lianthore was taken...but even that was tame. I hope the next book in the series will be better.

I completely enjoyed this story. Lianthore received the mate he needed and deserved. I liked the character development and even though they had to wait to find one another, it was worth the wait.
And I can't wait to read the next one. #Faeborneprinces

An FMC who knows how to fight 💪🏾 👊🏾💥

This was a new take on Rapunzel which I thought was pretty cool. Lianthorne’s obsessive pursuit of his mate Siobhan kept me hooked as she struggled between freedom and desire

I will say just like with book #1 there should have been bit more polishing of the final version but I’m too invested in this series to let it get in the way

Shoutout to my girl Paige for showing up 🤭

I enjoy getting to know each brother and cant wait for Zaos’ story
