In "Honey and Hexes," Kinsley's life is turned upside down when a local bakery owner is found dead, and her vampire ex-boyfriend, Azriel, returns to Coventry with rumors that threaten to tear her family apart.
As Kinsley digs deeper into the murder, she discovers that the baker had a secret past and a long list of enemies. But with Azriel back in town, Kinsley's got more than just a killer to worry about. Rumors are swirling that her daughter, Laney, might be Azriel's child, and Kinsley's husband, Thorn, is not happy about the vampire's sudden reappearance.
With the help of her sassy familiar, Meri, and her own witchy wits, Kinsley must navigate a tangled web of secrets, lies, and hexes to catch the killer and put an end to the rumors threatening to destroy her family.
But as strange occurrences begin to pile up around Coventry, Kinsley starts to wonder if Azriel's return is somehow connected to the murder. Can she solve the case, protect her loved ones, and prove once and for all that Laney is Thorn's daughter? Or will the killer's hexes and Azriel's exes spell disaster for everyone Kinsley holds dear?

Sara Bourgeois is a Midwesterner through and through. She spends her time writing, reading, herding cats, and standing in her driveway during tornado warnings. (You can't see them from the basement.)
It was nice to see some old characters back but this wasn’t well written
There were a few places where things didn’t add up and even some sentences repeated right agree each other.
They were working on a protection potion? It failed and they just moved on even though it was supposed to be critical.
Celeste was in the woods and as soon as Kinsey left the woods she went to visit her shop where she was- not sure how she had time to kidnap thorn and meri when she was somewhere else.
A new topic of magic for personal gain was added- I don’t remember this already being mentioned and seems odd magic rule changing in the 24th book.
There was no closure for the rare honey part of the storyline.
It’s getting harder to get through these, I don’t know what happened to this series.

So many secrets. The past has a way of catching up with us all. For a few in Coventry it really does! Kinsley has her work cut out for her on this mystery. Plus her past makes an appearance too. I swear, she’s always under so much stress!
