From bestselling author, Mia Heintzelman comes a standalone holiday romance about two snowed-in exes who get a second chance to figure out what got their tinsel in a tangle... It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for financial advisor Beau Redgrave. The position he’s been working toward just became available, but the only person he wants to celebrate with walked out of his life six months ago. When Beau receives word of his grandmother’s failing health, he quickly books the last flight to Chicago out of Las Vegas—a redeye with more than one connection in common. All Aubrey Green wants for Christmas is one silent night. Who’s got time to worry about mistletoe when she’s only got a few hours between the airport and a connecting flight to Chicago to write a life-changing article? Not this girl. If it’s all the same, Aubrey would just as well skip the holidays altogether. Her heart is still wrapped up in Beau, and his is still married to work. Oh, what fun it won't be, to have no plus-one to her brother’s engagement party. Beau and Aubrey are set to spend the next five hours, stuck together thousands of feet in the air. Except, a weather delay gives them a second chance to work out what got their tinsel in a tangle. With every second they spend together, they realize the only thing harder than being together is being apart. With any luck, Beau can convince Aubrey she’s all he wants for Christmas.
Not a novel or IMO even a novella, but there was plenty of space for Impossible Sex Activity writtennput in detail, which I just gloss over since, like every idiot in Congress, I know how swx happens. Being as Im a RN, I also know what these romance novels describe is physiologically impossible so please, unless you're going to overdose some guy on Viagra (& probabky ebennif you did), that.kind of sex does NOT happen in real life. Now that we have THAT settled- the sex manual ruins the story. I have a suspicion it was used to lengthen the story wnough for it ti wualify as a book. Epic fail. Listen, the story is well told. It's good for the most part. There just isn't enough of it. Too much info on overfilled bladders & impossible sex; not enough story. C'mon, Ms Heintzelman. Flesh the next one out more, & I ddont mean with bare flesh & imaginary sexcapades. Flesh out the story. I want to see more of the good writing I spotted between bladders & sex. Less sex. More story. Please. You're too good to waste that talent.
Beau is not a happy man. His fiance left him and won't even talk about it. Then he runs into her in an airport and realizes he has to get her back. Turns out she still loves him but, needs more of his attention. Can they reconcile?
A cute, quick, holiday novella! The storyline was interesting and felt like it was super relatable for a second chance. I enjoyed the authors writing and the audio was very nicely executed.
Mia Heintzelman has written a heart-warming book about two people who love each other, but don't think they can make their relationship work until a chance encounter on an airplane gives them just the nudge they need. This is a quick read and is perfect if you need a quick respite from holiday stress.
Short + cute, kind of reminded me of A Christmas Carol but Scrooge is way younger + learns from his mistakes a lot sooner. Very heartfelt, and sometimes dramatic, which I wasn't mad at lol. I really enjoyed the fact that, even though this is a novella, there is still a nice amount of background information on the characters. This was the perfect book for me on this cold, rainy Sunday.
This was such a fun second chance, forced proximity, "snowed in" in novella. Six months after Mia called off her engagement to Beau they find themselves on the same flight back to their hometown. Despite each trying to move on it's clear to everyone that they are still not over each other. Add in nosey strangers, a flight canceled due to the weather and meddling family. I will say the ending felt rushed, but I kind of suspected it since it's a novella. I've got several more books by this author on my TBR and I'll be picking them up in the new year.
It's a second chance romance at Christmas time. It's light and fluffy and short like a novella. There's a little sexual tension and a little sex scene, with most mentioned as a summary after the fact. Nothing special, really, but okay for what it is.
Cute very short novel about high school to adult love over the holidays! The grandma was the winner of this book. Life lesson, listen to your elders ☺️. It had a pretty spicy scene for such a short book too!
So cute! It is an absolute holiday treat! This heartwarming romance wraps you in its charm like a cozy blanket on a snowy night. It’s the perfect mix of humor, love, and holiday cheer. If you’re looking for a festive romance to make your heart swoon, this book is your perfect match!
I typically don't care for second chance romances, but this one is an exception. It was very cute. A perfect novella for the holidays. Easy entertaining read.
Second chance romance novella with minimal Christmas theming. While the time frame is the days just before Christmas, the story doesn’t dwell on the holiday much and focuses instead on the emotions of the FMC and MMC when they see each other for the first time after a heart breaking split up 6 months ago. I definitely connected with the emotions of each character within just a few pages. I think the pace and the length (90 pages) was perfect. I’m impressed she achieved so much of a story and character development in so few pages!
This is a holiday novella of two exes (who still love each other) are snowed in at the airport. As they wait out their flight delay, they spend more time remember what they love about each other.
I think this book was fine for a novela, it was cute, spicy, but I think it would have been even better as a full length story.
