This is a small book, so it may not be suitable for all story times, but I was reading to a group of five children and they loved this. The illustrations are bright the text is simple. My storytime audience loved this book, I encouraged them to make the sounds of a siren on each page, and as more an more fire trucks respond to the alarm they were very excited about counting the trucks. The reason for the call isn't revealed until the very charming twist at the end.
My littles (4 & 5) are both just learning to read. This was a little advanced for them to read on their own, so we echo read this book together. We liked the story and the illustrations.
