What a straight-forward, open, revealing and tender book. Personal is political, indeed! Reading (or listening) to this I realised how rare it is to hear people talk so openly about their fears, be them big or small, vague. They are equally important and we have such a shame for our petty feelings usually, though they usually reveal something big and crucial. And talking about big: there is nothing bigger than this. Family, kids, legacy, parenting. As a man, it is heartbreakingly hard to be a father without a woman. I'm so grateful for these lovely people, on this lovely quest, with so much love and hope and good intentions. Insanely hard things to do, so many good points to consider and so much love here. I was overwhelmed with emotion at times. And I think in the core of it is my longing for a family, the dream of becoming a parent, to build a home. A dream I'm touching gently, tenderly, letting nature take it's toll. Still a dream I think about, every day, in my every action. This gave me hope, joy and new thoughts. Great stuff.
As a fellow Pietarsaari citizen, hometown vibes gave this an extra twist. And ten points for a perfect Jeppis accent for the reader of the audiobook, Mikko Kauppila.
