But after countless bad dates, she is preparing to swear dating off for good, now focusing on finding someone who can give her the perfect night.
Nathaniel Carrington is meticulous in everything he does, striving on routine and structure. Being the head coach of one of the leading teams in the NHL takes extreme discipline, which he practices in all aspects of his life. But he finds his control wavering as he hijacks the worst first date he's ever seen. He was supposed to be getting a drink alone to celebrate finalizing his long-awaited divorce, not accepting a challenge from the stunning blue-eyed vixen to make her night one to remember.
When an enchanting night comes to an end, they attempt to move on, merely dreaming of what might've been. But when Evie joins her parents at her younger brother's hockey game, number seventy-two isn't the only familiar face on the Nighthawks bench.

Loved how bold they both were first time they met. She was on a date, he was celebrating his divorce alone. He hijacked her date, and they have a ons. Neither one of them can stop thinking of each other. She goes to her brothers hockey game and they see each other. He feels bad for betraying one of his players like that, but he still wants her. They start sneaking around until the truth is out.
It’s a short book, so I missed seeing there relationship develop, and it’s almost just s*x during them.
No other woman drama. His wife was a peace of shit. Really liked how he described how he never was he’s true self with the ex, that something was missing and that he never has felt what he now is feeling for the fmc. He never had a OnS before either, he was loyal because that who he is, but he is truly happy to be done with his ex because he never really loved her.
It was a spice fun read, with low drama.

Only complaint, it was too short, I needed more of Evie and Nate!! 🥰

Original Read Date: 10/04/24 - 10/05/24 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5 Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Tropes: age gap, alpha male, blind date (not MCs), coach, divorced, "good girl", Insta-attration, meet cute, "mine", no 3rd act breakup, obsessive MC, on night stand, secret relationship, sports (hockey) POV: first person, dual pov
Plot: good Ending: good
Synopsis: Evie is on a disaster of a blind date when Nate decides to rescue her. One thing leads to another and they end up spending one night together that neither of them can seem to forget. They never think they will see each other again until Evie goes to her brother's hockey game and the head coach is none other than Nate.
My opinion:
Pros: I enjoyed the book overall. It had funny moments and the spicy was doing its job. Evie was confident in herself which I appreciated. I also enjoyed Nate setting her dating bar higher. I liked how they both wanted more but Nate was trying to be responsible, but she was kind of having none of it.
Cons: there didn't seem to be a lot to the story overall which was disappointing. As much as I enjoy reading the spicy scenes, I also want to know how they fall in love. And with this book most of that is off page. It also felt like it was lacking something. I'm not sure what though.
🛁 𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠 🛁 Not My Coach by Pru Schuyler “Evie makes me feel like I’ve been lit on fire, and she’s the one who lit the match.”
Synopsis: A novella in the NY Nighthawks series follows Coach Nathaniel Carrington to a bar following his divorce being finalized and meeting the girl of his dreams in a stranger named Evie. They share one incredible night together before realizing that they’re not strangers after all: Nate is Evie brothers coach, but nothing can stop their connection, no matter how hard they try.
Firstly, thank you Pru for this copy and the amazing goodies that came with it! I enjoyed this novella so much. The perfect amount of spice and plot weaves its way through our two main characters who, from page one, were perfect for one another.
Evie and Nate are the perfect story of instalust, jumping feet first into their first night together and leaving obsessed with each other. I’m glad this was in novella format, so we knew we wouldn’t have to wait long for the HEA, and all we had to do was experience some incredible spicy scenes to get there. Talk about a dream!
If you’re looking for a fast, one-night read with spice, swooning, and hockey, jump into this novella!❤️✨🛁📚
3.75/4⭐️ “You’re wrong Evie. I’m so much more than crazy when it comes to you. I’m possessive, obsessive, and f*cking addicted.” ❤️

I try to stay away from novellas, because I always end them disappointed because I want more. That’s how I felt about this. I really liked it but I wanted more/a full length book of Evie and Nate. They were so perfect together. Nate was giving everything that a woman would want. He was sexy, could pick her up with ease, romantic, protective, caring, and thoughtful. The spice was spicing and their banter and chemistry was off the charts. I’m happy they got their HEA and I think the epilogue wrapped up their story nicely.. I just didn’t like the jump from the end of the last chapter to the epilogue. By the end of the last chapter they hadn’t even said “I love you” to each other and then in the epilogue they were married, living together, and pregnant. I wanted to see some of what happened between those two timeframes. Overall I liked this and will definitely go back and read the rest of the series
Nate decides to treat himself at his favorite restaurant to celebrate his divorce and Evie meet at an Italian restaurant when she shows up for a date. They were instantly attracted to one another and swoops in once he sees that the date isn’t going so well for Evie. They end up back at his house for the most intense and satisfying one night stand and when the night is over, Evie heads home, so they both return back to their normal lives. At the next Nighthawks home game, Nate locks eyes Evie in the crowd and is completely stunned by her presence; little does he know, she is there to support her little brother, on of Nate’s players.
I absolutely loved their story, and the spicy was absolute perfection 🥵 This novella acts as book 5 in the Nighthawks series and came at the perfect time since book 4 had me experiencing so many emotion.
Loved this spicy novella! We follow Coach Nate Carrington and Evie Burns. They meet at an Italian restaurant. Separately there for different reasons. Nate was there to celebrate his divorce and Evie was there to go on a first date. Seeing each other there was an instant attraction. Nate swoops in and steals Evie as his and they end up having the most intense one night stand. They both carry on with their own lives but still think of that one night.
The next NHL home game, Evie goes to support her brother. That is when her and Nate catch eyes with one another. Shocked and surprised. Evie felt this was a sign and she wanted Nate. Nate was nervous to find out that the woman he can't stop thinking about is his player's older sister!
Tropes: NHL Romance Novella Age Gap Forbidden Romance Secret Relationship
Pru is one of my "no questions, just buy" authors. The storyline, well developed characters, banter and sass, the SPICE... there isn't anything she writes that I won't devour. Not My Coach was no exception.
Coach Carrington never had never had a burning love, and Evie is the spark he didn't know he needed. She is one of his players' sisters, though. That poses a problem, and he tries his best to push her away and make their one night stand just that. Evie knows what she wants, and she has the confidence and will to get it.
"Nate? Until you get over the minor fact that I'm Brett's sister, think about all the other guys that are going to fuck me in the meantime." ~Evie
Age gap, protective MMC, sassy FMC, chemistry, fast burn, hockey coach/players' sister, one night stand... Do you need any more convincing?
Omg. This book is freaking insane. Nate and Evie are magnetic. This is a steamy, novella that you will fall in love with. This book has it all…. It’s a hockey romance, one night vibes, brothers friend, brothers coach, and a mini age gap (less than 10 years).
This novella not only is a spicy little thing, but is filled with a fun plot, great side characters, and one of the best epilogues I have ever read. This is an adorable firecracker of a book, and I promise every single second is worth it.
If you like Pru’s other books, other hockey books, or just love a smutty little novella, you will love this so freaking much.
Not my coach is a nighthawks novella about the team’s coach Nate . A book that can be read as a standalone but i highly suggest reading the others and in order. This one was under 150 pages super short but spicy.. I really liked it and thought it was really good . Out of four books in this series so far this is probably tied for second place. i liked that even though it was a novella it still had a solid plot and drama/tension. This relationship wasn't supposed to happen but it did and they chose each other over everything. Out of the series this one is less crying-sadness but definitely more smut . i highly suggest reading this book and this series if you haven't already.
Oh boy, did Coach Carrington bring the spice despite being oh so nice! A gentleman on the streets, but a bit freaky in the sheets, Coach Carrington definitely takes the prize as the mature but oh-so-hot MMC. Meeting Evie under unusual circumstances, this one night stand leaves a lasting impression- so much so, that even when discovering she’s his player’s little sister, Coach questions his moral boundaries. This fast paced novella will keep you on the edge of your seat as you race to read the finish line like all of the good girls do.
I was lucky enough to read this as an ARC, and it certainly did not disappoint!
This was a fast-paced, spice-filled novella that delivered exactly what it set out to do. Nate and Evie’s story is short, intense, and packed with BDSM heat, making it an easy, addictive read from start to finish.
This book was the perfect palate cleanser after emotionally falling apart with Pru Schuyler’s third book in the series. It had just the right amount of drama and a whole lot of spice without asking too much emotional investment. The dynamic gave a little Fifty Shades energy, and I’ll admit, the MMC was definitely not what I was expecting, which made the story even more fun.
If you’re looking for a quick, steamy novella that leans into spice and surprise, this one hits the mark.
This book was great for so many reasons. First, I loved the writing style, which is huge for me. Second, smexy beyond all belief! And not just a “he’s a dirty talker” smexy, more like a “grab her neck, do what I say, don’t be a brat” kind 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Third, I liked that the coach, which is naturally a powerful position within the team, had to do some groveling and convincing when his player found out he was dating his sister. I haven’t seen that dynamic often so it was a fun twist. I’m definitely going to be reading more from Pru Schuyler!

This novella is about Evie and Nate (coach Carrington) loved reading this spicy forbidden romance. Nothing like the coach being with a players sister. These two were great characters to have a novella for. I was not left wanting more after it was finished but I did wish it took me longer to read. I was sucked into this intriguing story and couldn’t put it down. I will definitely reread this book and 100 percent recommend reading it.
Just ick. Not into this one at all. I completely forget what this one is about but I also don’t care to look it up and tell you. I just remember thinking ick the whole time I was reading. I was so excited for this story once I read the summary and it did not live up to it at all.
Every time I thought about picking up and resuming this book I just would think **cue whining voice** but I don’t want to!!! So I decided not to.
I received an ARC for Find Me in the Dark. So I decided to read the series from the beginning...
This is Nate and Evies' story... Nate is the couch of the team. He just got divorced. Evie is the sister of one of Nates players. They meet when Evie is on s terrible first date he ends up stealing her. They spend the night together thinking it will be one night. They cant stop thinking about each other. These to are cute. Their is no 3rd act break up.
