Ever since we came to Jacob’s Fork, I’ve never felt safe.

I mean, there are factions in the town who hate me and my sister because of my dad. Major Henry Banks is second in command of the Army’s Supernatural Containment Unit. They kidnap supernatural creatures so they can study them, experiment on them…hurt them. I never knew this until after someone ran me over with their car.

I woke up with the ability to see and hear ghosts, to talk to them.

The old Ella Banks is gone, and in her place stands a living reaper. They are so rare that there is very little known about them. What I do know is I am now something my father’s unit hunts. While I know my dad won’t hurt me, that he’ll protect me, I can’t say the same about his boss, General Griggs. She is suspicious and has gone out of her way to have me watched, going so far as to install hidden cameras in our home and listening devices in our cars.

So, I never feel safe, and I’m constantly looking over my shoulder, terrified they’ll take me.

And then my worst fear is realized. I am taken, and the only thing I can do is try to survive until my Guardian Angel, Eli, can find me. I know he can. As long as I’m alive, he’ll come for me.

But can I survive all the testing the doctors want to do?

I hope so.

So who am I? Well, I'm the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn't love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.

Growing up in a small town, I learned a lot of values and morals, I also learned parents have spies everywhere and there's always someone to tell your mama on you. So when you get grounded, what is there left to do? Read! My Aunt Jo gave me my first real romance novel. It was a romance titled "Lord Margrave's Deception." I remember it fondly. But I also learned I had a deep and abiding love of mysteries and anything paranormal. As I grew up, I started to write just that and would entertain my friends with stories featuring them as main characters.

Now, I live Huntersville, NC where I entertain my family and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce...lol.

I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.

I love this series. I am glad the author has left room for more books. I can't wait to see more adventures with Ella and all her friends. This book has many great parts in it and proves how friends can help you out when they are most needed. Eli is a great guardian angel and he is nice on the eyes too. I really hope this book series and Mattie's series gets picked up and made into a group of great movies or I could see a great season or several seasons of TV shows. I would love to see all the these wonderful books with Ella and Mattie come to the screen big or small. I would love to play a role in these books and I have no acting experience. lol Thank you to Apryl Baker for continuing to write such wonderful books!

Ella is a living reaper. Her and her friends live in Jacob’s Fork, West Virginia. She's with her friends while one is practicing working with his wings. They go into her house to figure out the food situation when one of the boys, Eli, takes a call. That's when Jordan realizes Eli is a hunter of supernatural creatures. Jordan leaves in a fit of rage and Eli disappears upstairs. Sigh!
While Eli's family were hunters, Ella's father is a government hunter. They don't kill they just experiment and study them.
Then Ella gets a text from Gramps, Nephilim, meet him in the barn. The next thing she knows is she's waking up somewhere. She tries to figure out where. Then it's lights out again. Meanwhile her family and friends are doing the human way of searching just in case it is the army.
Ella wakes up to a person she considered family. She's been kidnapped by the military. They want to know what her powers are. She's hoping Eli will find her. But what sorry of tests are they going to use on her? Is her dad in on it? Will she ever get free?
An exciting story to read!.

Doesn’t feel right as if someone else wrote this book. I love and enjoy Apryl Baker’s writing because there is no cliffhangers strong characters overall great storyline. This is the 5th book in this series so far none of the characters developed or improved. Ella is a Damsel in distress in every book. Would have been great to see her in action even for once helping anyone as a reaper she did nothing but fall into traps and passing out and waking up with no memory.

I completely understand this is a different person was brought up completely different than Mattie / Emma. Sadly the Character didn’t grow or develop at all in fact it’s the opposite for her and any natural person. Traumatic events one after another would affect the person in some ways alas! not Ella’s character.

Also her family seems very off (hot and cold like) in first and second book her sister didn’t seems to care about Ella or love her at all even the mother but I was expecting her to be adopted or something.

Her dad who loves her so much wasn’t there next to her when she woke up another too odd and the explanation didn’t make any sense the ending of this book wasn’t concluded at. Although all my favourite characters were there and made me happy reading the book as I do love these characters but the ending and lack of character development with Ella’s left me disappointed. I am not losing hope though will be looking forward to the next.

I'm absolutely enamored with this series, and I'm thrilled that the author has left room for more adventures with Ella and her friends. The camaraderie among the characters truly shines through, showcasing the power of friendship when it's needed most. From heart-stopping twists to breathtaking moments, this book takes you on a whirlwind journey that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

The storyline is expertly crafted, with well-developed characters that leap off the page. It's a suspenseful ride from start to finish, keeping you guessing until the very end. I found myself completely engrossed in the narrative, unable to put the book down until I reached the final page.

Filled with humor, drama, and supernatural intrigue, this novel is a page-turner in every sense of the word. However, I must note that while this book stands strong on its own, readers who haven't delved into the earlier installments may find certain aspects a bit confusing, particularly when it comes to keeping track of the characters.

Our heroine is a reaper, a rare supernatural creature so she does her best to hide. But when that fails, she is going to need some help to get out of this fix.

This book part of a series, but the numbering is a bit inconsistent. Fortunately, it does pretty well as a standalone. The essential bits are covered early on, but you will be missing some of the deeper background.

This is a young adult paranormal romance story, although it is a bit light on the romance aspect. That works for me, but your mileage may vary. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting to go along with it. The characters are pretty well developed and I suspect that would be even more apparent if you have read the previous books. The plot itself was good and moved along at a solid pace. Overall, this was an enjoyable story and I look forward to more in the series.

Highly recommended.

Hold on to your kindles or paperbacks. Apryl decides to throw every single reader for a loop in this one. The 5th book in the adventure of Ella and Eli. But this adventure could mean the end for these two. Ella's worst fear comes to live. She is kidnapped. Why is she kidnapped? To find out if she has magic in her, to see what her abilities are. But this is when everything changes not only for her but her whole family and friends. Ella is trying her best to survive what is going on with her. But her kidnappers are just to strong and unwilling to see that she is human so to speak. Eli is going crazy with worry and emotion. Will Eli and the gang be able to find Ella in time? Will they be able to save her? I was holding my breathe through this whole book. It was heart wrenching when you read what they put Ella through. But Apryl did an amazing job writing this storyline with all of the characters emotions involved. It was intense, page turning and shocking all rolled into one.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Silence, the fifth book of The Reaper Chronicles. I read it in one sitting, and yes, it is that much of a page-turner. The characters keep you engaged, and so does the storyline. With a touch of humor, lots of suspense and drama, as well as supernatural-paranormal action, and a twist or two, I could not put the book down. Note, though, that if you have not read the other books, aspects of this one will be a bit confusing, especially the "who's who" aspect.

Total Joy!

I was super excited to see this installment was finally out. I Absolutely love this series so very much. Thankfully this came at a time when I needed a bit of a detour that actually brought me some sense of joy in my life. Work is becoming more stressful every day. So getting to hang out with Ella and Eli was just what I needed. (It's hard not to love these characters). Now I need to go back to the beginning and really learn where Eli came from.

But regarding this serie
The only downside is that I have to wait for the next book😢😢

This book is book 5 of the Reaper Chronicles series. This paranormal romance has an awesome storyline. Baker has a clean writing style that will keep you glued to the page as you find out if they find Ella in time. With the twist and turns encountered, this book, It is a genuine page-turner. The suspense will hold your interest until the last page is turned. You may read it in one setting as I did. I'd highly recommended this book and this author to others.

Oh my! This just got even more intense! I felt bad for Ella. She is just going through so much. She never has a break. Now she has to deal with what is happening to her.

I was literally biting my nails as i was reading. I felt for Ella. I was almost telling her what she was going through. It just gave a quick turn to the other side. Something always happening.

Ella is just amazing. She always seems to make it out somehow.

I found this book to bring some excitement to my reading. It’s like everything is flowing right. As for Eli, bless his heart.

Good

Short but good and did exactly what the author intended, removed the roadblock to being able to grow Ella's abilities.
I look forward to the next book.

I'm loving this series . Things are definitely getting more interesting. I enjoyed reading this series. Though in the earlier books it felt like things weren't getting resolved , this book felt like the one where things got resolved the most not just swept under the rug. Though I would've liked to know what's the Dad's reaction when he knew it was Tony behind the kidnapping. And where was Matt in this book? Even if they are on a break wouldn't he be concerned about her well being?
It was an enjoyable read and I'm looking forward for Whispers to be released! Hopefully it won't take too long!
I need more Ella and Eli
