29 books194 followersThe Kitten series will always remain my shining star. Rae and her family is what got me into writing and what's kept me going. As I venture off towards new characters and storylines, one thing that will stay the same is the butch/femme dynamic. I have even dabbled with butch/soft butch non-binary characters. I love masculine women and everything about them, from their charm, chivalry, style and everything else in between.
This past spring I happily signed a contract with Painted Hearts Publishing for my new book, A Jade's Diamond, that will be released in the new year. I hope to continue working with the lgbtq publisher for more great stories I write.

This steamy sex-filled romp through the lives of a biker club's lesbian leader and the women she loves was intense and complex. The characters were multilayered, and the main's dynamics were interesting. The writing was not perfectly polished, but it was good and served the story well. Despite the action and suspense that happened throughout, the pace felt a little slow for me.
I realized that this type of story wasn't working for me, as it was rather stressful and at times frustrating. That is not necessarily a reflection on the author but more about my need for something a little less dark. I definitely think some people will love it. It seems that it is intended to be a series starter so the sort of cliffhanger ending has time to work itself out, but it wasn't my favorite. If you like dark, intense, biker lesbians give this one a try.

Kitten follows protagonist Rae, leader of the motorcycle club, Dark Angels, as she manages her club, her job while balancing the affection and love for the two very important women in her life -- Ruby and Christina -- and maintaining her sanity when a past threat from Christina's world returns and flips Rae's world upside down.

Kitten is a wild ride with life problems, growing pains, complex characters, haunting pasts, and sex. A lot of f*cking sex. Pun intended.

I’ve been trying to figure out a way to describe the MC Rae. After some thought, the best I can come up with is a candy called Warheads that was all the craze in middle school. Hard candy pieces with an intense, sour coating that would lock up your jaw and make your eyes water then, if you could handle getting through the outer level, there was a sweet, fruity center. You either loved them or you hated them. There was no in-between. I loved them. My jaw would cramp, and if I ate more than one, my tongue would be raw, and I would have to prepare myself the same as if I were getting ready to take a shot of tequila. Rae is my warhead. She is not for everyone, but those who get it really get it. A complex character with room to grow, which we see some of during the book. Even her relationships with her girls are complex and not for the faint of heart. She is intense, hard, and can go 0 to 100 in no time. The ladies in her life, Ruby and Christina help balance her out. I adore her relationship with Pat, a type of mother figure who has no issues telling Rae how it is. Or how it’s going to go.
I was lucky enough to be given a copy of the first version of Kitten after it was out of print, and while I loved that version, this one showcases the author's evolving writing style. The POV changes to a third-person POV, which is my personal favorite. You can tell the author put a lot of work into the rewrite.
I recommend Kitten to anyone who doesn’t want a simple, sweet romance. If you want twists and turns, emotions, struggles, feistiness, biker life, and fighting for your lover, then grab a copy. You won’t be disappointed.

Char Dafoe writes a compelling story with well developed characters. The chemistry is strong between the MCs.
This book had me intrigued from the beginning. I have a book hangover from the emotions and feelings this book brought forth. There is always something going on that you just can't help but hang on for the ride and keep turning the page. I look forward to the next book.

Five stars–because I love me some biker chicks, and Rae is a delicious, complex character. She’s a thirty-three-year-old, hot, and rough around the edges, blond butch who works on mining rigs. Rae’s tough enough to lead the local motorcycle club and keep them in line. (Got your engines revving, yet?) She has a long, lusty history filled with one-night stands. To her, sex is as easy as breathing, until she meets two very different women.
Ruby is the Miss Kitty to her Marshal Dillon, a strong, independent woman who matches Rae in every way that counts; she drinks, plays, works, and chases after women just like a best friend, wing-woman should. Brassy with a heart of gold, she moves into Rae’s house and sometimes her bed, accepting what the damaged butch can give her. Ruby brings the other woman into their lives.
Enter Christina, a small battered waif, on her own without a friend in the world until they take her in. Sweet and innocent, inexperienced with the somewhat dangerous crowd Rae and Ruby run in, she nevertheless steals their hearts.
Or, more specifically, Rae’s heart. The tough biker butch is charmed by the polite twenty-year-old, and falls head over heels in love, willing to change to fit Christina into her life, house, and bed, while Ruby, who wants Rae’s happiness more than her own, watches with loving angst and breaking heart.
How these three complex, quirky, and well-developed characters create a family, and the trials and tribulations they face together, created a very enjoyable read for me. I recommend Kitten to anyone who loves biker, age-gap, and sweet taming rough stories.

Holy 💩
Prepare for drama, action, and extra spice. I was hooked on these characters after reading the prequel's, and was excited for the rerelease of Kitten. This book did not disappoint. I highly recommend reading All Hers and then Fight Fire with Fire before tackling this to get a better sense of the town, characters, and relationships. But Kitten shines on its own.
The main character Rae is a tootsie pop. Her hard and rough exterior is needed to protect the town and the people she loves. But a few licks and you get to her soft center. She loves big, and while her heart is in the right place, her strong emotions sometimes lead her to violent acts.
Ruby, her best friend and sometimes bed partner, is there to help keep her honest. A straight talking, no-nonsense, green-eyed dark goddess who rides her women as hard as her bike. The pair together are explosive in and out of the bedroom.
And then in comes Christina to their lives. Innocence personified in pastels, manners, and beauty. She moves in with Rae and Ruby. Instead of being a third wheel, she becomes the leading lady in a complicated love triangle. And the instrument of chaos in their world when her past catches up to her.
Be ready for blood, bikes, and boobies. This is a series I will definitely be pre-ordering in the future.

An interesting telling of women in lives that is new to me. A biker club that Rae leads tries to help and be supportive of the community they live in. When Christina appears Rae can’t help but want to be there for her. Each woman is learning more about themselves and also trying to change for the better. Also has the suspense as Christina’s past follow her.

Rae and Christina are not your typical love story. Rae is a tough butch and is used to her life until she meets a shy sweet Christina. Rae is rough and tumble and very different from Christina. Rae has to learn how to be committed and give up her loose ways. Christina has a past and it comes into play in the story. I recommend this book for those who like a not so sweet love story.
