In the idyllic castle of High Nestia, friendships run deep but secrets run deeper. Can Hana Montaigne rise above the betrayal that binds her?
In High Nestia, where friendships are forged in steel, High Archer Hana Montaigne is a deceiver of the highest order. She’s loved, and loved wrongly. Now, the past is her only companion.
Haunted by the consequences of her choices and burdened by the remorse that shadows her every step, Hana is convinced that she doesn’t deserve kindness or… love. Until she meets Zenith Honeybeam.
Zenith is a recluse. A hermit. A loner. And she prefers it that way. People are hard to read, and even harder to understand. Her little apothecary in the fringes of the sacred forest has served her well.
But when Hana Montaigne arrives on her doorstep, angry and heatstruck, Zenith finds her walls beginning to crumble. Hana is all power and pride, and with each kiss, she drags Zenith into a whirlwind of want beyond the Alpha’s wildest imagination. Will Hana be able to rise above the betrayal that binds her, and accept the love that is so readily offered?
"Yours to Remember" by Lily X is another hit, and it's no surprise given the author's consistent excellence. This book serves more as a prequel than a continuation of the last installment, and readers will be thrilled to see Hanna as the protagonist. She was a standout character in the first two books of the series, and it's clear why this story was released now.
Since the book just dropped yesterday and reviews are non existent, I'll avoid delving too deeply into the plot to prevent spoilers.
Throughout the book, readers follow Hanna and Zenith as they fall in love and learn to understand each other's differences. The dynamic between Hanna and Zenith is a highlight of the book. Neither character conforms to their expected roles, which makes their relationship compelling. They complement each other perfectly—Hanna is outspoken about her wants and desires, while Zenith is more reserved, each balancing the other. Unlike previous books in the series, this installment focuses more on the internal drama between the main couple, especially Hanna, rather than external conflicts. This is something I enjoyed because we have them more worried about each other than big plots, making them their relationship development more realistic.
Even though "Yours to Remember" I considered a prequel, I recommended to read Thea and Art's books first, then Hanna's, to avoid spoilers and fully appreciate the story's.
True to the usual pattern of awesome writing, Lily X has written another wonderful story in the series.
This story itself is perfectly seated in the series- reading it in what would seem like chronological order regarding the couples would give away so many other stories. So definitely read the books in their released order!
Hana and Zen's relationship is unique, beautiful, and wonderful to see - they balance each other. They're both so different (and I especially loved Zenith's character- she definitely felt very neurodivergent which was super relatable!) and complementary. Hana was a bit harder for me to like the more I read, but was very well written and in the end, I liked her better.
The inner conflict and exploration of complex inner issues (especially feelings like guilt) with Hana is beautifully done. It's a challenge to sort through the nuances in real situations that mirror her experience, it's immensely more difficult to create a situation and approach it while keeping it grounded in reality. And... Lily manages to do so with ease.
One of the main things I appreciate about Lily's writing is how often there are little details that feel so real, but are so often missed in other books. This book's little moment for me was reading about the "clusters of emerald ferns" in Chapter 28. Was it because I was just noticing clusters of emerald ferns at my best friend's childhood home a couple weeks prior, possibly, but each book has a little moment like that.
When the physical copies are out, I'll be ordering it for the trophy shelf!
Lily, you already know I loved your book, but thank you as usual for creating this little world and sharing it so others can experience it too. You're definitely someone who inspires me to keep writing sapphic books where just being sapphic isn't the drama.
5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Soooooo, this is the 6th book in the series? They all can be read as standalones but they make slightly more sense if you start from the beginning and read in order, I'd read this as book 3 tho. (Also you'll love all the MCs being side characters in each other's stories)
Hana is the high archer, first omega in a position of power and the youngest ever person to reach such high ranks. She has made her fair share of mistakes in the past, one of them slightly inexcusable (not a fan of being shitty to your best friends). She's also a huge control freak, but she's very loveable too so it's kinda okay? Then comes Zenith, a real softie alpha who is autistic and kinda OCD? Well she's a very soft alpha and very in-touch with her own peace and quiet self, so is theoretically a great balance for Hana (if she'll let her be).
I loved this book in the series, I think it's one of my favorites. it was very emotional and very real. Yes, this is a fantasy book and oviously has some elements that can't be real, but we all know that doesn't matter? What matters is that the characters feelings and actions are real. I absolutely adore Zen, she's so sweet and honest and we need more people like her.
The only negatives I have of this book are: - it was too short, I felt robbed a couple times, like "no don't skip that scene" - I would've loved to see Hana submit to Zen once (not because she's an omega, but more as an "I trust you")
Also, if you got to the end of this review: yes, this is lesbian omegaverse so sex is slightly different than "regular" lesbian books and if you're put off by that don't read, but if you don't mind or even enjoy, I highly recommend this series because it's just sososo good🥹
Can someone please tell me how EVERY book in this series hits? There have been 6 so far and I loved them all.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this prequel but I was so pleasantly surprised by it. The writing as usual was great, the story telling keeps you engaged and it’s still so freaking spicy. I love the way Lily can give us something different every time. Lots of authors tend to regurgitate things when writing a long series, but not her. I find my eyebrows raised each and every time. Zenith was not at all what I expected and I loved her sweet soul so so much.
Conclusion: another banger. Another winner. Can’t wait for the next one. Spice rating 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ don’t read in public 😬
I absolutely love Zen. She is my favorite alpha in the whole omegaverse. Plus she is so sweet and caring. The first half of this novel just had me so giggly.
This book was everything I expected and more! Hana and Zen are the perfect match. Zen brings calm to Hana's storm. I adored their connection, even though Hana did irritate me at some points... The cosy vibes were 100% present! After this book I want to go live in a forest with a cat like Cleo! One thing I'll say is that I'd like to have seen Hana with her child. I wanted to see the dynamic, her thoughts on everything. Nevertheless, the ending was extremely healing and I think it finished her story in the right way.
Possible teaser even though the question is not answered. So beware of the following. Even as I try to be very vague for those who have not yet read this book. Before I give the teaser stuff, I highly recommend this book and if you haven't yet, give this whole series a shot. I'm thoroughly enjoying them.
Is it possible that Nova poisoned Fyra? I ask because of the relationship Nova has with Hana and of course we all know from book 1 that Nova has mental health illnesses, and what happened in this book (that wasn't followed up on). And to answer the author's question at the end: I think it is definitely possible. After all, Alphas have great sense of smell. There's no way to fully disguise scents.
I don't usually right a review. I just select the stars and I'm on my way. Not with this one. I've read all of Lily's books and I never seem to be able to put them down. This one was no different. I would've stayed up all night to finish it but 3:30 comes fast. I love all the characters in this series and I'm glad Lily wrote an Alpha that wasn't to Alpha like, but gentle, sensitive, and shy. I loved this book, can't wait for more.
There is a twist to fryas death. As supreme alpha and mating bond, Art must have known about their betrayal but love made her look the other way. Hana don't deserve Zen at all but oh my word🤭🌶️♨️🔥the hot scenes was explosive. A definite 5 ⭐for a gripping, passionate, finding your true self and mate. Can't wait for the next book.
I hate to say it , but Hana’s story was quite boring. I was surprised. There are many times when I just felt bad for Zenith that her person was Hana. Hana was pretty messed up. She had done the worst she could to her best friend behind their back.
It’s not that Hana wasn’t a good person. I believe that she was. She was misguided and made poor decisions. It would have been nice to know just how those decisions were made from the start. It would have been nice to know how and when she was first approached to betray her BFF. It would have been nice to be able to follow it. When she tried to pull away, they didn’t really say why they were doing it, what would be the outcome, nor why they should continue when the other person aspired to be the High Consort.
I’m caught between what I believe. When Hana was going to confess to her BFF what she had done. They said that they didn’t want to know, if it would destroy the friendship for no god reason. I’m stuck believing the friend didn’t know because in book one “Let Me Love You,” the other person never hinted about anything untoward except…I was confused as to why they never shared the “mating bond” and never did she give her pups. But when they met Aeryn they did both things right away although they were not in love. She did things as if they were. It was weird.
That is the part that makes me believe that she knew. Maybe she didn’t want to confront it because it didn’t matter if she had to share them. They didn’t seem to be mates. But she did say she regret going the traditional route. She did say to Hana during the grieving that she was surprised that she was affected because she would never stay in the same room when that other person was around. If, what I said above is false, then she finally found out toward the end because of the way her friend was acting. She might have wondered why and may have seen or heard something.
However, Art is also boring. I think that could be why Fyra was acting the way she was. She didn’t act as if Art was her mate either. Art was a means to get what she wanted. And Art was charmed by Fyra, she seemed to have that about herself. I don’t know. It was a mess and seemingly only two people knew what they were doing was wrong.
Sweet Zenith reminded me a lot of Yogi. The caretaker and loving Alpha. She deserved better.
Lastly, we got to meet Alec and soon to be Chieftan Azura Blackrock. Two more people that are meeting obligations and hoping to fall in love at some point. I actually didn’t care all that much for him. He was ok. I’m glad she found Zanny. Zanny made her do things she would never do and had not done with Alec or anyone else.
• BRO THE PLOT TWIST OF FYRA AND HANA HAD ME SCREAMING ❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ I did not see that coming and that was 15/10. The drama was so so so shocking I loved it
• Book 1 & 2 flowed well reading in order, after reading the summary for 3, 4, & 5 it made ZERO sense to me that this one is book 6; imo this one should’ve been book 3.
• this isn’t something that’s clarified but books 1, 2, & (technically 6) are all happening simultaneously! Which is fine but bc of the way the story is written it gets very confusing bc technically big, important conversations happen between characters in book 6 that obviously don’t get mentioned in book 2 bc they were published at different times so it lowkey changed the dynamics of the characters and idk if I’m even making sense but I’m going to be honest and say the inconsistency of the timeline was confusing and I hated it.
• even tho this is technically a review for book 6, after reading 1 & 2 as well, this author is fantastic. I have never really found a A/O/B book I lowkey haven’t felt weirded out by but the writing is well done, the characters have crazy chemistry, and the descriptions of relationship dynamics and the individuality of characters was just really nice. it wasn’t strictly dom/sub type, the author made the story to have fluidity-like gender system and it was such a fascinating take.
•idk if I’ll read 3, 4, or 5 tbh but I do like the world building and I would be down to read others by this author
This instalment of the series made me too emotional. Also, I would recommend reading this 3rd instead of the 6th, as it's more like a prequel than anything else. I'm so happy to see Hana have a story as she was in books 1 and 2, and then just disappeared from all the others. Her story is raw and heartbreaking...and her belief that she isn't worthy of anything because of the guilt is hard to read. As for Zenith...I never thought I'd read an Alpha character like her...and she is such a breath of fresh air. Like if my future girlfriend isn't like Zenith...imma fight...jk...mostly. Finally, to answer the author's note: I truly believe Art has always known. Given descriptions from book 1, and then her behaviour in this book too, and that scene where she let Hana sleep in her arms. That was the actions of someone who knows something. (I literally have a crime scene like board connecting all the characters and worlds in this series because it's so addicting and so many crossovers. When I tell you I'm OBSESSED)
Every time I get out, she sucks me back in again. Lily X is a F/F Omegaverse writer and if you don’t know what that is, google is your friend. This is the 6th book in her Seventh Star series however timeline wise it takes place after book 2. This follows Hana and Zenith and is very internal. There’s no big plot or external conspiracy. This is all thoughts and feels. I’ll be the outlier here and say this might be my favorite of the series. It has the sweetness of book 1 but with the filth and spice of book 2. A heady combination that I enjoy more than I realized. It’s weird that I’m back here. I dropped out in book 3 with the time jump and the following of the very adult escapades of previous read about children. I doubt I will get to the other books in this series but this was a nice revisit with familiar faces.
What a plot twist right off the bat for fans of the Seventh Star series! Another really enjoyable read. I love that Lily gave us a spectrum of MCs to root for, while the likes of Avani and Hana have troubled pasts, their journeys of redemption and self acceptance are believable and earnt.
So much of this book is Hana's inner turmoil, grappling with anger and guilt, self sabotaging potential happiness, pushing those closest to her away, it's all very relatable as someone who has made a mistake or few in my life.
I'm really Hana found Zen in this book, the calm and peace to her rioting storm, the patience to her overworked mind, the softness to the walls she has built. Zen and Yogi both have my heart forever and always.
To answer the author's question at the end of the book - yes I think Art knew, she is too sharp not to know.
This book filled me with so much warmth. I always feel a comfort coming back to the Seventh Star, but this book amped up the feelings of coziness and home. It painted an amazing picture of the serenity of Honeybeam Cove.
I loved another glimpse into all the other main characters very much and the connection between them all was so present. There was a great further insight into characters I love (bring me more Azura Blackrock!!!)
All of that to say that I also adored the romance. Zenith was such a captivating character and I just fell in love with her. The 🌶 scenes were hot as always, and the dynamic of Hana and Zenith totally won me over.
You've done it again Lily X!! Keep them coming queen.
I didn't read the novels in order; after enjoying a previous book, I tried this one on the basis of its premise but was let down. To avoid giving away too much, I didn't anticipate the narrative to turn out this way. I couldn't stomach to read the intimate situations, so I just skip over them. I had to read something else after the book ended in order to avoid thinking about it. Having said that, I found that the author's previous novels are far better to read. I will keep reading the author's other works and applaud them for writing great stories.
(i skipped books three, four, and five to read hana’s story, and i still think this should’ve been book three considering books one, two, and six are all happening simultaneously)
onto the actual review, this is my favorite book of the series so far. it had a nice balance of plot and spice that i feel the previous books in the series didn’t have. i, surprisingly, wasn’t as irked by hana falling for an alpha as much as i thought i would be considering her feelings toward them in books one and two. i did find myself thinking what the fuck is zenith’s taste cause she definitely deserved better, but i can’t argue with mates so it is what it is. (added bonus: the omega straps her alpha, heyy)
It took me longer than it probably should to read this. I preordered it and started it immediately, but then life got in the way and I haven't been back. This is definitely another great addition to the Seventh Star series. I love the way the author incorporated all of the other characters in the story as little reminders that they all have their own stories. It definitely made me wanna go back and reread all of them from start to finish. I'm gonna go read the seventh Seventh Star book first, and then I think I'll go down the list.
Hana's story has difficult parts that fits into the story timeline with "Let me be yours" and "Never Yours" and should be read before "I'm Yours" and the rest of the series to keep the story in line.
Hana and her heat got caught in an uncomfortable situation, when she ended up in a secluded cottage with soft Alpha Zenith, a apothecary healer.
Things escalated from there and Hana ended up mated after working through some things that bring up guilt in her.
I'm just writing this review as a warning to others. This should have been book three. However, don't do what I did and read it right after book two. Read something else in between, or read the books in the order they were released in. There are too many inconsistencies from the first two books and this one. The continuity isn't that great and I was constantly going...but didn't that happen at this other time? or didn't that character act surprised by the information they are now taking at face value? Do with that what you will.
This was, in my opinion, the softest book in the series. It was such a delightful read. I find it quite interesting that during all the craziness of the first couple of books, this gentle romance between Zenith and Hana was unraveling underneath those rocky waves. Thank you so much for another fantastic edition to this series!
Hans is a great character no nonsense take no shit omega, and this book didn’t disappoint. I just wish it was earlier in the series but I also understand it probably wouldn’t work, just thankful that she got her own book.
OMG I love this. I think this may be my favourite of the 3 that I have read so far in this series. I love the dynamic between Hana and Zen. And that they are not your typical Omega / Alpha. Onto the 4th !!!
This was actually book 3 in the series if you read the first two. So that’s how I read it. I loved it, but there were also pieces that were not finished.
