Broken Souls Trilogy #2

Destruction's Desire

Rate this book
Remember when seeing ghosts was my biggest problem?

I miss those days.

Now, I’m magically bonded (shackled) to a creature of unlimited destructive power. He insists we are destined for each other and that I will belong to him.

If that wasn’t enough, I’ve been kidnapped by another destructive creature – the one I’m supposed to help kill. Awkward, I know.

It’s rapidly becoming clear that I’m at the center of their tangled web of lies.

A smart person would act meek and play along in hopes of surviving.

Too bad I’m an idiot.

There is a fury within me that is becoming harder to contain, and I refuse to be controlled by these overbearing (attractive) men.

I will escape him, whether he wants me to or not.

(arc read)

I could not put this down! I need the last book so bad but I also don’t want this series to end!

I really enjoy Melody’s writing style. The books are so easy to read and you end up devouring the whole thing! I also love the sense of humour in this book, it’s witty, fun and at the start of each chapter there are rules that Vivian (fmc) sets herself and they are amazing! 😂

The characters in this series are incredible and you can’t help but get invested in their lives and the spice in this book is so good! 🥵 There’s definitely a few book boyfriends in this one 😉

Definitely read the trigger warnings first as this book does cover a lot of the darker stuff that comes with mental health. I’m going to be honest with you and say that some of the mental health stuff in this book made me a bit emotional at times as I related to it with my own experiences. But reading about Vivian’s journey from her struggles to her starting her path of recovery and self love was beautiful and I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy for a book character before 🥰

I’m so thankful that I not only got to read book 1 as my very first arc read last year but I also got the pleasure of receiving an arc for book 2 as well. Like I said at the start, I’m so excited for book 3 but I really don’t want to say goodbye to these characters 😭

Ummmmm excuse me ma’ammmmmm! First, I am honored to receive an ARC! This book releases in early February and 10/10 recommend! It is the second book in the broken souls trilogy. I liked the first one but this book was even better! I laughed (personality of a bed bug, Rule #5), cried, screamed, my heart raced. What a rollercoaster ride…. It’s perfectly spicy with strong wit that had me literally laughing out loud. Team Leon in the beginning but that didn’t last long. The writing is done so well I felt like I wasn’t seeing clearly until Vivian was. Like damn, he’s kind of a narcissist and I let myself fall for it! I’m trying very hard not to give anything away lol. I felt like the first book left a lot of unanswered questions. The second ties it all together and brings an amazing story to life. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and CANT WAIT for book 3. I’ll have a book hangover on this one for sure. Make sure to read the Trigger warnings. Mentions of depression and suicidal thoughts amongst other things. The cliff scene had me sobbing, felt like she was speaking to my soul. Melody, you outdid yourself although I’m still kinda mad about that cliffhanger.. I couldn’t put this book down. I’ll 100000000% be purchasing the paperback on February 11 and will be anxiously awaiting the final installment!! P.s. We could all use a little Sin in our lives 🤤🤤🤤🤤

BEST BOOK EVER

i hate trilogies. i hate fantasy. i hate books more that 300 pages. i hate when the first MMC isnt the right MMC. when i read romance i only read mafia romances or books where the mmc is part of some organization. technically i should hate this book but this is probably the best book i’ve ever read. its hilarious and ive never understood an fmc more than i understand this girl. It’s hilarious and depressing at the same time. This book should be more popular than Iron Flame, Acotar, and Twisted combined. 100000/10

Enthralled. I could not stop reading this book, heck the series. I literally thought about it even when I wasn’t able to read it (why do people have to work when there’s perfectly good books to read?). The story and characters capture your attention, emotions and heart very quickly. Melody has created a world that I love to escape too. I am impatiently going to wait for book number three (already pre-ordered it) as I know it will be just as good if not better and let me tell you each book gets better and better. This is a series that I will forever love and recommend! Thank you for this story, these characters and an amazing read!

I honestly love love this book! I was so glad to receive it as an ARC because i couldn't handle another day without knowing what happened to Vivi! The story is fast pacing and adventure packed! the banter between the characters is awesome and i love the fact Vivi remained herself even with Cassandra's memories. I only wished we saw more of Vivian's true feelings for Sin, because it felt like she fell in love on the last chapter only.
I don't know how I'm going to deal with waiting for the third book! i need it now !!! Amazing 😍

ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER!!!!???? Melody!!! I can’t! 😭😬

This book. Ughh. Perfection. 👏🏻🤌🏻💛 I love how Vivian found her self worth in this book. She’s become such a strong and powerful woman. I can’t wait to watch her kick Leon’s aşs in book 3! (Hopefully) I love Sin and all his badass warlock glow stick self. And the new character additions! Rosie, Ari, Magnus, Damien and Morgana! I love them all.

I’m too tore up over how this cliffhanger ended so my review isn’t going to be that great. 😅 but I’ll just say this book was amazing and addicting. I only put it down when I absolutely had to.

Melody you did an amazing job! 💛 also, I want to thank you so much for letting me be a part of your ARC team. You have no idea how much that meant to me. You’re one of my favorite authors and I’m honored. 😌🥰

My rating:
⭐️story: 10/10
🌶️spice: 9/10
💫fantasy vibes: 10/10
🫢gasp out loud moments: 10/10
🫴🏻give me more, addiction factor: 10/10

New to the dark romance genre and impatient with cliffhangers, Creation's Captive left me spiraling. Destruction's Desire was even better than the first book in the series. Drawn into the story, I was living off of stale cookies and slept only when my laptop died. The writing style makes for easy reading, the characters are relatable, and the storyline lacks nothing. I don't know how I will make it to the release of book 3.

I LOVED this book - it answered so many questions after book 1 and did not disappoint.

The addition of the rules at the beginning of each chapter was gold, they set up the humour in each chapter perfectly. The introduction of some new characters and more details of old characters made me fall in love with them all over again. There's not much more I can say that is not included in the blurb, that won't give away the plot twists in this story so I'll leave you with my favourite quotes;

"I'm going to die of mortification. That's going to be a good one for the coroner. Cause of death? Smutty book collection discovered by hot as fuck man."

"Truly, guided meditations have nothing on Smut."

...and a warning;
This book broke my heart at the end and ended on a cliffhanger.

Can't wait to go through it all again when book 3 is released!

Oh my goodness! 🌶️🌶️🌶️

So spicy, such an interesting plot with twists and turns.

I am in love with Vivian, she is such a real character with depth, it's so easy to relate to her with her conflicting feelings.

I can't believe we have been left on a cliff hanger with such a long wait for the next book, but I just know it's going to be good!

Melted. Reset. Melted again. Officially a puddle.

The first book in this trilogy- had me so angry and disgusted and sad for the FMC. But holy hell. Does this book redeem the horrific qualities of the first. Like don't get me wrong- the first book is amazing. AMAZING. But it's cold and it's cruel and filled me with despair for our FMC.
This books helps her step into the badass that she really is. and the MMC? No words. *shivers*.
If you like smut, stories of survival and are aware of trigger warnings within but chose to read anyway- pick this book up. Get some snacks. Put your phone on silent. Your not leaving until you've finished. (yes that's a stolen line😏)
GO READ NOW. 🔥

" You're not mine Kitten, but I think I'm quickly becoming yours"

Holy love triangle with TWO destroyers. I LOVE SIN. Literally team Sin till the end! This book blew my expectations from the first book into the gutter. I did not expect to love the sacred bond between Vivian and Sin. I did not expect to be so drawn into this story it slowly became my entire personality and all I have left to say is can I have book 3? Please? I'm not above begging

It ends on a cliffhanger! Sin and Vivian are in love and are mated to each other. They realize they need to kill Vivian’s mortal self for her to become immortal. Leon won’t let Vivian go, so he holds her mortal friends hostage until she returns to him. She goes to free her friends and Leon snaps her neck in front of Sin.

The second book in the Broken Souls Triology is an exhilarating follow-up that absolutely does not disappoint. @melodyjoanne.author once again delivers a masterful blend of world-building, character growth, and a plot that keeps readers on the edge of their seats (with some serious spice!).

This book picks up right where the first book left off. In addition to familiar faces, the second book introduces a slew of new characters, each whom bring their own unique energy to the story. The unfolding of several key truths keeps stakes high and the mystery building, ensuring the plot never loses momentum.

Melody is a cliffhanger mastermind so readers be warned. With the finale of the trilogy yet to come, I personally cannot wait to see how everything resolves. If you’re a fan of dark romance with complex characters, sizzling chemistry, and a world that feels as real as it is dangerous, you don’t want to miss Destruction’s Desire.

It tells you at the beginning of the book that there will be a cliffhanger…
But I feel like I was just launched off said cliff toward rocks and “maybe” I will get a parachute next February.

I love this series and the fact that the FMC constantly notes that the men in her books are much less frustrating than the men in her world, because truth.

***Shoutout to the author who lets those dealing with depression know that they are not alone when posting it in the trigger warnings ❤️

I finished the first book yesterday and I was so sad when I saw that this book would only be out in February, but thanks to the amazing author Melody I had the chance to read it before the official release date, so thank you so much for saving me the anxiety to wait hahahahah no but being serious now melody is such a nice person, I’m really grateful for the opportunity!
Now about the book, this was a wild ride! An amazing wild ride! It was so good, I couldn’t stop reading!!! The rhythm of the book was amazing too, I not sure how to explain but if flowed in such a nice and natural way, it made the reading even more amazing! The new characters were amazingly introduced, and they were charismatic, interesting and engaging. Sin? Oh my god, he was like Rhys from acotar but make it better (and I like Rhys a lot), but I could not stop myself from falling for him! He was such a deep and mysterious character, and the development between he and Vivian was how I would describe the perfect enemies to lovers! The plot twists were amazing and I really enjoyed this book a lot! But the ending??????? And the snippet pf the third book? It was crazyyyyyyy! Now I’m really anxious for the next one!
and I know Leon its not good and all but I wouldn’t mind if this series was a why choose hahahaha specially after Leon’s pov!
Anywayyy it was a really good book, and I apologize for any mistake in this review since English is not my first language 😅

First of all I'd like to thank the author for the opportunity of reading the ARC of Destructions Desire.
This book was one of the best slow burn books I've read. It's full of tension between the MCs and just keeps you reading. The character development of the characters is phenomenal and you don't get the repetitive nagging, something I absolutely appreciated. Vivian, the FMC, goes from being a sad girl that was manipulated to a fierce badass. I never expected the story to take such a twist from book one. The MMC is just, to put it plain and simple, HOT AF. He is possessive, obsessive and he wants what he wants but all in a good respectful way (basically what we girlie's want any man to be). Although I did slightly cringe at the MMCs nickname for the FMC, it was cute and the explanation behind the nickname was excellent. Everything else in the book was amazing to a point that you don't mind the nickname. If you haven't noticed I'm in love with the MMC.
Even though it is a slow burn, like I mentioned above, it is overflowing with tension and once we get to the spice, yes it was spicing. 10/10 spice.
I have so many things to say about this book and I just don't know the words to explain how I felt reading this.
I can't wait for the 3rd book and I hope it's not too long of a wait, I just know it will be the cherry onto of the cake. (Does Sin like cake? I wonder? Or maybe ice cream. Idk whatever he wants🥰)

First, I would like to thank Melody Joanne for the ARC. Second, what a ride! What a way to begin the year! Wow. I read the book in one sitting. I could not put it down. This is the second book in a trilogy. It ends with a massive cliffhanger, but enough about that. Viv's POV. I don't want to give away anything (so no spoilers; read the book!). Yet, where do I begin? Viv is amazing and Sin is to die for. Leon still has Tamlin vibes, so yeah...I don't like him. I will not tell you who ends up with whom (for now). There are more side characters in this book, and they are fun. I like them a lot. This book is better than the first one (I loved it), although I liked the first one, too. The story builds nicely, the world building expands, and the characters go through ups and downs. The writing flows and you don't realize how fast you are moving through the book. A lot happens and the plot thickens. Is there spice? Well, yes. At some point, you will get really heavy spice (like 5 chillies), but it works just fine with the story. This is a true romantasy novel, so everything is there. Every chapter begins with one of Viv's rules, which are cool. My favorite one is 44. You will not regret reading this book. My only problem is having to wait forever for book three, since this book has yet to come out (sigh). Ladies, get ready!!

ARC Review: 📖
Destruction's Desire by Melody Joanne

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! The description had me so intrigued when I first read it but after reading book 1 and 2 my mind is blown.

Vivian is a woman who has really had the worst luck in life and it doesn't seem to be getting any better until she realizes who she can really trust. I can't get enough of Vivian and Sin. The character development between these two are chefs kiss 💋 I love how they are always picking on each other or just purposefully trying to get on each other's nerves as much as possible. The way you show the relationships developed between the characters is so good. You really get the smallest amount of doubt or trust coming through when something happens. The small hinting and certain things were wild. At times I was like oh okay that doesn't seem that important and then later on it ended up being really important. There was a lot of foreshadowing and I absolutely loved it!

Definitely will be one of my favorite reads of the year! Thank you so much @melodyjoanne.author for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the ARC team!
