Sparks fly in the electrifying world of Las Vegas boxing as Owen, a determined fighter, and Jade, a globe-trotting makeup artist, find themselves face-to-face after years of separation. Owen, shaped by a turbulent past, found solace in the embrace of Jade's family, becoming like a brother to her. Until Jade starts to see Owen as more than a brother. At a time when he feels unworthy, Owen takes a step away from Jade, leading her to set off to anywhere that isn’t home. But when fate brings them together again, the bonds of the past blur into something deeper.
As they reunite, old affections resurface, igniting an undeniable attraction. But Jade, haunted by fears of vulnerability from her own turbulent childhood, hesitates to embrace the burgeoning romance. It's up to Owen to prove that their connection is worth fighting for and that their childhoods do not reflect the people they think they have to be. They have the freedom to choose happiness.
The Knockout is a captivating tale of love, redemption, and the enduring power of second chances. Join Owen and Jade on a journey where the heart takes centre stage, proving that sometimes, the knockout punch comes from an unexpected opponent.
After plagiarising The Magic Key books at the tender age of six by writing her own versions of the stories, Megan knew she wanted to grow up to write books. Many years later, after a stint in Insurance and Finance, she finally knuckled down and finished a book worthy of being published.
For Better or Worse is her debut published (albeit self-published) novel and now there is a stack of ideas and almost-finished first drafts ready to be born. Books involving New York, Paris, New Years Resolutions, Yoga Instructors and deceptions are all in the pipeline, so keep an eye out!
The light-hearted and witty women's fiction Megan is aiming for may not go on to change the world or become a classic to be studied by grumpy students in fifty years time, but sometimes we just want to curl up with a good book and head into someone else's world for a little while.
When not furiously typing away at a keyboard or scribbling illegible notes on scraps of paper, Megan spends her time watching old movies, trying not to buy more shoes or playing with feather fans for a burlesque act.
Childhood Best Friends. Best Friend’s sister. What’s not to love? I really enjoyed this read. It’s so refreshing for a book not to have the MMC as a criminal or a proper ‘bad boy’ for once 😂
Although Owen is a boxer, his confidence and focus only show in the ring. He is such a genuine character and he’s written beautifully.
Jade is torn between wanting to find a new job and settling down. Although she has her own demons and wonders of settling down would actually work for her.
Stu is the perfect brother. Although he has a tendency to entertain the ladies a little too much 😂 It warms my heart to see the relationship he has between himself and Jade, and also between himself and Owen. ❤️
I read this in less than 24 hours and lately there haven’t been many books that I didn’t want to put down! Such a wholesome story. I find myself wondering about what they were like as children together, even though there are a few references in the book.
Also Megan? Can I please have a Libby and Stuart story? 🙏 😉 😘
