Allure /əˈlo͝or/: the power to entice or attract through personal charm.
In the world of creativity, Lore Reed shines as a beacon of boundless imagination, her sculptures and paintings capturing the essence of emotion and beauty. Raised in a household where freedom and exploration reigned supreme, Lore's carefree spirit knows no bounds. Yet beneath her artistic façade lies a longing for stability and family. With a heart ready to embrace love's allure, Lore sets out on a journey of discovery that promises to redefine her life forever.
Across town, Niko Lockwood, a legend on the football field, faces a crossroads as retirement looms and a new career beckons. Amidst the roar of the crowd and the glare of the spotlight, Niko craves the quiet joys of home and family, a longing that propels him toward the doors of Arranged Hearts. However, tensions arise within his family, particularly with his father, a retired football legend who has always exerted control over Niko's life. As Niko navigates this new chapter, he must find the strength to forge his own path and fight for the love he deserves.
As they prepare to step into forever, the unknown will cause them to question whether or not they're making the right decision. Yet beneath the surface lies a tantalizing hint of familiarity, a connection that defies explanation and ignites a spark of intrigue. While their love for each other is unwavering, outside forces threaten to tear them apart. As family tensions mount and expectations clash, will Lore and Niko's arranged marriage withstand the storms of doubt and resistance, or will “I do” turn into “I don’t”?

I am an Indie Author! So be on the lookout for that!! Cover Designer, and reader. I have been reading all types of books by many different authors for years and I just love the idea of love so I decided I should share what I dream and hope to have someday! I'm also a military brat, so I always have this itch to travel to a new place that's another one of my passions. I have a book club if you're interested in getting sneak peeks to my new books, as well as participate in deep book discussions, and my character introductions to new series! lookup
Low angst and no third act breakup? Count me in. Another lovely instalment in The Arranged Hearts series, and another first time author for me, Iesha Bree, delivereddd. I liked the little twist we got and of course the romance. I wasn't totally sold on it at first, but by the halfway mark I was fully on board. I can't wait to read more of Miss Bree's books.
Reading this author's work for the first time was an enjoyable experience, and I must admit that the tales are becoming more creative as the series progresses. Allure was so full of love and fluff that it made me think of a Hallmark movie. Lore and Niko are two individuals that are now at a different point in their life and are looking for someone to spend time with. Lore, a successful artist, and Niko, a recently retired NFL athlete, are both single and eager to find love. While most couples who use the exclusive Arrange Hearts matching service end up marrying total strangers, this one had a slight twist: the newlywed pair in fact knew each other beforehand. As we follow this couple as they discover how to combine their individual ways of living, we also see the blossoming of their love. This novel is perfect for those who like fluffy, joyful black love.
Cute read. It gave all the warm and fuzzies, however, the connection between Lore and Niko didn't feel as authentic to me as the other reads. It could have been because of the lil twist, but there was too much familiarity, and not two strangers learning each other and falling in love. Still enjoying the series, nonetheless.
I have truly enjoyed The Arranged Hearts series. I found myself smiling constantly throughout all the books. All 6 books in the series are written by different authors and can all be read as standalone books. I love that this series focuses on the arranged marriage trope, but the individuals control the narrative. They willingly sign up with Arranged Hearts to take a chance on finding true love.
This was my first book by this author, and I absolutely loved it! This book was creative and felt like I was watching a romance movie on TV. Fate brings Lore and Niko back together again, and their connection is one of pure and authentic love. The two main characters had great depth. I felt like I knew them and I was rooting for them. The spice was hot, but their connection was even more hot. I thought the narrators fit the story perfectly. They had me completely engrossed in what was happening. Such a beautiful love story!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.
If you’re looking for a sweet love story, this is it. I loved how they were with each other. Their connection was so beautiful. I couldn’t get enough. Loved it!
Sorry - I wrote this review on 12/8 but a glitch in the system said my "review draft" would not be saved. This happened with 3 other books so I am done. I informed Goodreads and now it looks like it has been fixed. I don't want to mix it up with other books that I have now completed, so I will carve out some time, next year and reread it. And give this awesome book the honest review, it deserves!
Such a strong, beautiful couple! I’m loving these epilogues! I’ve been meaning to talk about this one but how do I explain why a 5 ⭐️ is a 5 ⭐️ without screaming? This entire series is Black love and written by Black authors and Allure is no different. Our fmc is both Black and Thai and her name is Lore. She’s a free spirit and I was obsessed with her from the beginning. Her man is named Niko and OMG is he everything she needed. He’s a football player yeah yeah yeah but this isn’t a sports romance okay. It’s hella romantic though. It got me swooning.
Whew, this arranged heart series is bringing all sorts of martial issues. It goes to show that it doesn't matter if the marriage is traditional or arranged problems still arise. Niko and Lore went through a huge valley with his parents, especially his father. His father wanted to hold the reigns in Niko's life forever. He had to learn to let Niko live his life on his own terms. Lore's family was the exact opposite because they allowed her to be a free spirit. She honed in on that characteristic and made a comfortable life for herself. Niko was the man that Lore needed in her life. He motivated her to accomplish all of her aspirations. She was the support he needed to pivot his career. They complemented each other well.
Another work of art that encompasses healing, letting go, and undeniable chemistry between the main characters. I enjoyed reading this book. The only part that threw me off was Niko's mother mentioning Lore being pregnant before the London trip. Lore is not pregnant until the epilogue. Regardless, this series is continuing to be on fire, so get into it. You will be surprised at what problems present themselves with each couple.
P.S. For some odd reason, I thought Mahalia and Kole were going to hit it off. Mahalia could have been the woman to slow down Kole. When he took the proper steps to become healthy and whole, that spoke volumes about him. Maybe those two will pop in a later work of art, just maybe?!?
This book tells the story of Lore and Niko and how fate, if you will, brought them together. They both signed up with the Arranged Hearts company who matches people based on their answers to questions and they get married sight unseen. However, in their case it was the second time meeting. They met one time before but due to certain circumstances did not get together at that time; however, with them being matched through the Arranged Hearts company they felt it was meant to be and that God brought them back together.
I liked how they were supportive of each other as husband and wife and I do not know if it was because they had met before or not but they had a good connection quickly. She pushed him to patch things up with his family when they weren't fully onboard with the decisions he was making personally and professionally and he helped her to see that she didn't need to hide behind the alias that she created for herself in her profession and take all the accolades she deserved.
It was a good book overall but I felt some parts were a little repetitive and I could have used somewhat of a timeline between their visit to his parents' house and the epilogue to get the full picture (if you read the book you will see what I mean).
Tropes: Arranged marriage, second chance romance, fated mates
Initial thoughts : New to me author , loved how fate brought Niko and Lore together. The story is swoon worthy and heartwarming.
Book review: Recently retired footballer Niko Lockwood is ready for a steady relationship which can lead to a family life . Niko has signed himself up to arranged hearts a match making service with the hope to be paired to someone who will fit his lifestyle perfectly.
Lore Reed is the only child of her parents and art teacher, ready for a secure relationship. what is more secure than a marriage commitment so she signs herself up for the match making service called arranged hearts.
We Niko and Lore locked eyes at the aisle, they both knew fate brought them back together, after meeting each other at a bar years ago which led to a one night stand
A quick heart warming romance story that explores , family dynamics, stepping out of your comfort zone and new beginnings
I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end and so far it has become my favorite of this series.
Arranged Hearts has done it again and made another beautiful love connection that will stand the test of time. I loved the slight twist that fate brought Lore and Niko back together again after making an impression on each other after meeting one night years ago. Their marriage was definitely a twist of fate considering everything before I do with Arranged Hearts is completely anonymous. This couple was beautiful together and completed each other so well. I loved the unconditional love and support that they gave each other even from their first meeting. This is definitely a must read.
Allure gave me that perfect mix of romance, tension, and second chances that I love. Lore was such a free spirit, but you could feel her craving stability, and Niko brought that balance with his quiet strength and the weight of his own struggles. Their chemistry wasn’t just about attraction, it was about two people trying to find a safe place to land while the world and their families kept pulling them in different directions.
What I loved most was how the story showed that love isn’t just about saying yes at the altar. It’s about fighting for your peace, choosing each other when it’s hard, and pushing back against the people who think they know what’s best for you. Lore and Niko’s journey reminded me that sometimes the most beautiful love stories are the ones that don’t come easy.
3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ .5 stars! Thank you to NetGalley for the ALC! Niko and Lore both went to The Arranged Hearts matchmaking service in order to find love and their happily ever after.
Niko is a retired football player and is ready to settle down with one woman and Lore is an artist and she’s ready for the same. They were matched by the service and didn’t know anything about each other and don’t see each other until the day of their wedding. They had an instant connection when they see each other for the first time, and only they know why. ☺️
There is a little bit of family drama in Niko’s storyline that they have to work through together, and we see him navigate through it while Lore supports him every step of the way. Overall, this was a solid read that I enjoyed and recommend.
The plot of a pro football player and an artist meeting through an arranged marriage set up by a matching agency sounds unique and intriguing. The fact that they only met at the altar adds an interesting twist. It's great that the story included trials for the characters to overcome without resorting to a typical third-act breakup. The family drama contributing to the couple's growth also seems like a compelling aspect.
Arranged Marriage Family Drama Obsessed MMC Curvy FMC BIPOC author and characters
I enjoyed this story. Very well written, great storyline and character development. Who would've thought that two people who shared a brief past would be reunited through Arranged Hearts. Niko and Lore were perfect together, and the chemistry was undeniable. There were a few bumps along the way for Niko, but with Lore by his side, his family was accepting of his life choice. The artist and the athlete proved that they were winning no matter how unconventional things may seem.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s a sweet romance between two people that are supposed to meet at the alter. Only, they realized they’ve met each other before and had a one-night stand. I loooved how they both thought of a gift for the other person before the wedding and how much it resonated with the other person. These two were really meant for each other.
My only issue is that, for their previous encounter to have been so short, there was too much familiarity. I would love to see their love blossom on page.
Also, Niko was also in the wrong, he owes his family an apology too.
P.S.: This is what MAFS could be but the matchmakers keep playin’ 🤣.
Thank you Dreamscape Media for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Such a beautiful love story ☺️☺️ I truly enjoyed everything about this book ! Black love written so beautifully ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love at first sight 🥺 I was in literal tears reading this 😭 Amazing Job Iesha Bree 👏🏾👏🏾 I believe everyone will fall in love with Niko & Lore love story 🥰! This is a must read if you’re obsessed with black love / love at first sight ☺️
A very very sweet and low angst story with some very good narration!
So far I’ve enjoyed this the most in this shared series. Our characters feel fully developed and with any conflict really existing outside of their relationship but still helps to keep them growing and learning as a couple. It’s a really fun play on second chance romance as well.
I will caution that there is a bit of a press on Christian based religion but I guess it balances out the spice? I don’t know. It stood out to me though and found it worth mentioning.
Overall a cute sweet read for anyone looking for a dreamy book with all the feels.
A good read. I liked that the couple had history and a previous connection. It helped make the insta-love more realistic. Lore's family and best friend were very supportive, it was refreshing to see their reaction to the unconventional approach to marriage.
I understand this is a novella, so there's only so much you can do, but this is basically a one night stand to lovers without any of the relationship development. So we're just supposed to believe they had such a deep connection during that one night years ago that they can just pick up where they left off in this arranged marriage? If everything happened off-page, what was I reading this for?
Honestly I’m not sure if it was just me not liking this trope or me not liking the actual book but I found this incredibly boring and such a drag to get through.
TW - alcoholism (sc, mentioned incl rehab), alcohol consumption, strained relationship with a parent, death of grandparents (past, mentioned), fat shaming (scs towards the FMC), pregnancy (mentioned incl sc)
CW - hand necklace, spanking, “Daddy” (once)
Tropes - arranged marriage, insta love, married at first sight, past one night stand
Representation - Black MCs, half Thai half Black FMC, plus size FMC
The concept of this book, and I’m assuming the rest of the series, is similar to married at first sight. Whilst I’ve never seen the show, the MCs in this book get in contact with an organisation called Arranged Hearts to find their perfect match and they meet for the first time at the altar. I was intrigued by this spin on an arranged marriage trope, especially because the characters are entering this willingly (unlike in most mafia romances, lol)
This story was fine but it did feel like it had been thrown together. I felt like the storyline was lacking some development that could’ve pushed the rating up for me because the concept was good but the writing sometimes felt choppy or unnatural? It made it hard to connect with the characters.
All in all, it was fine and I probably will read the rest by the other authors to see what spin they’ve each put on this concept.
Scale: ⭐️ - would've DNF'ed / continued out of spite ⭐️⭐️ - shit, but whatever ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - meh, could've been better ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - lit 👅 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - loved it, inject this shit into my veins 🤪
This book was everything and more! I was intrigued by the characters as well as the synopsis. A retired football player and an artist? 🤔 I thought, that's interesting. But I was so pleasantly, happily, shockingly, cheerfully surprised with the way this author told Niko and Lore's story. Their journey has bumps and pot holes like most couples do. Where this book differed was the love, respect, patience, and grace Niko and Lore had for each other. And their absolute dedication to uplift, defend, and support each other regardless of whomever came for them. Niko, Niko, Niko. That brother right there! Lawd this man's way of showing love for Lore brought tears to this reader's eyes. His complete devotion to Lore was unapologetically in your face. And I loved every bit of it. And Lore? Whewwweee Chile! She was every bit a queen to support, love, and be loved by her king. Overall, I thought this book was absolutely amazing. And I hope everyone gets a chance to read it. This author served it up like a 5 star Michelin! That is why this book got 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Another amazing book in the Arranged Heart series.
This one follows Lore, who is an artist and art teacher and Niko who is a professional football player. Again these are to individuals who are ready to settle down and skip the days of dating. They each turn to Arranged Hearts, an agency that arrange marriages after a thorough process of finding who they hope will be your right person. This story is a bit different then the others I’ve read so far, but i wont spoil that secret in this review. :)…..
Needless to say these two hit it off and their issues have nothing to do with them its other elements of their lives individually that they need to sort out to strengthen themselves for their marriage. I loved these two so very much and I was literally melting at their love story. Again if you have not tapped into the Arranged Marriage series, i highly recommend. Such a great series to cuddle up with and read.
Pssst..I’ll tell you a secret… i was cleaning while listen to this and the amount of times i made little hmph or oh shoot comments… :)…. Listen go read this series.
