Wowie! This is one of my all-time favorite series as Kaufman doesn't hold back with his creepy, dark surprises and this is book 5--fortunately, 6 is being written as this one leaves you with your jaw on the floor! Justin is mourning Mandy's death from cancer when he gets a call from Monica--"Mandy's family" with a twist we didn't see coming. Then we have dad Michael who is treating Amanda for her social anxiety and depression (and a host of other things). This is such a great, convoluted storyline that had me gasping continuously until the end where I might have let out a little scream! How can one series keep getting better and better?? The awesome thing about it is you can start with any of the books and get the backstory, or start at book 1--which I recommend--and you feel like you really know this family (you may need therapy but it will be worth it)! Now I'm breathlessly awaiting number 6 so I can pick up my jaw and leave the couch!😳

You should really look at the cover yup . This ends in a cliff hanger so there's gonna be a new book and I can't wait. NO BABY KILLING YELLS AT THE AUTHOR..whew ok. Lets hope Mr. Perfect listens . kidnapping stalking and child endangerment all with heart folks😍

deceived

What an ending! How could you do that to us?! As for the rest of the book, loved it but at first I was getting confused so many characters at once and had to go back and read some parts again. How long do I have to wait for book 6! Better be real soon.

Quit while you're ahead!!

Okay, first I want to apologize to the author for not writing a review on each of the first 4 books, but I like to review the series once complete. Unfortunately this book did not end the series. Book 5 was my least favorite of all, the unbelievable gullibility of a "well known psychiatrist" finally took me over the edge. The initial character development was good but each character eventually falls into situations both predictable and boring. I found myself speed reading this book trying to find more focused, exciting plot points to get me past the redundant storyline. So sorry, just painful.

The 'twisties'

This story did not hold my interest because of the predicability. Introducing more Familia Trauma and sudden appearance of relatives was not well received by this reader. Justifying ongoing trauma was concerning for me and characters moving fr9m relationship to relationship was not 'Freud / Junger' approved.
The ending was a cliffhanger, which will be the reason to read the next book.

I absolutely love this series. The characters are well developed and easily understood. The complexities of the story keep you invested in where this is all going. The ending will make you scream 😱 with frustration, but you will come back for more. I finished this in one day, and I guarantee I will read it again the day before the next book is released. This author is amazing 👏

OMG cliffhanger, can’t wait for next book. This family has been through some real sh*t but I guess that’s what makes a great thriller

This is a great series...I am enjoying it. One book left in the series? After this cliffhanger?
I didn't want this book to end!
