A crime with no eyewitnesses. A determined psychic sleuth. Will her search for clues take her where angels fear to tread? Mitzy Moon is eager to test her expanding abilities. Although she’d love to look into the hit-and-run that struck down her favorite veterinarian, leads are slim to none. And before she can suss out a single tip, the advances of a charming green-eyed stranger provide a dangerous distraction.
Desperate for any hint, she goes undercover at the high school and lands on the wrong side of the law by lunch. And her “get out of jail free card” comes with the help of her meddling Grams, an interfering feline, and her alchemically inclined attorney. But when a gypsy curse puts her powers on the fritz, she may not be able to save everyone…
Can Mitzy juggle dating and sleuthing, or will a hex knock off more than her halo?

USA Today Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her Mitzy Moon Mysteries, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.
Another cozy paranormal in the Mitzy Moon series that I devoured on audio! Life has been hectic the last few months between preserving the summer garden harvest, school starting (for my kiddo and my hubby!), a new job, and prepping for the new flock set to arrive at the beginning of October. It's so nice to still have time to read thanks to audiobooks - and I picked a great lighthearted series to ease in to audio!
Mitzy Moon has made a name for herself as a sleuth with psychic abilities in the small town of Pin Cherry Harbor. I love seeing the character development with each book and settling in to Mitzy’s humor, Gram’s snark, and the flirtation with sheriff Eric. In Wings and Broken Things, Mitzy is determined to solve the hit-and-run of the local veterinarian though there isn’t a single eyewitness coming forward. Desperate for tips, Mitzy goes undercover at the local high school and is quickly on the wrong side of the law (...again) by interfering with Eric’s investigation. This is a charming cozy with a fun mystery (and a hex for good measure) to solve and I’m enjoying the series on audio as the narrator has really given an authentic voice and personality to each character.
Man this is one of my absolute favorite series and I can't get enough!
January 28th is too far away for the next book because I am so anxious to find out what happens next with Mitzy's love life and other adventures! I absolutely loved this novel like I loved the first two! I will have to re-read them like I have already. So much fun, adventure and snark. I also must say that I love the covers of these books. 😊 I will have to put them on my #Bookstagram for sure.💖 I especially love how the next book in the series has the much loved Pyewacket holding a Valentine's heart in his mouth!💖 Great world building and a one of a kind story! A Must Read!😍
This was surprisingly good. No murder this time but a couple of mysteries to solve. Of course Mitzy sticks her nose where it doesn’t belong 🤨😁 but I do love how her ghostly grandma keeps her in check sometimes.
Witty banter and a spunky main character create a delightfully entertaining vibe in this series and this book really brings it home. Vivid side characters (Hello, Ghost Grandma, I'm looking at you!) keep you giggling as Mitzy tries to figure out the mystery of who ran over the beloved town veterinarian. Of course she'll need to do some fancy talking to keep the town Sheriff from tossing her in the clink for once again interfering in his investigations. Add in a tall, dark and handsome new guy in town that is stirring up all sorts of trouble for Mitzy and you have the perfect book to entertain the day away! The narrator does an excellent job of bringing life to already engaging characters and helping enhance the well written plot! I can't see what happens next for Mitzy and gang in the next book!
My first book in this series but I had no problem following the story and characters. A wonderful cozy mystery without a murder. This story is as much about the characters of the town as it is solving the mysteries. A light read but with heart and humour. I will be going back and reading the first two books in this series. I received a free ARC of this book but this is my voluntary review.
Mitzy Moon seems to have gone up a notch in book three, really blossoming into a very likeable and more adult woman who has many endearing qualities. The characters are continuing to develop and they are all doing it in their own pace. Just like Pin Cherry, the series runs along, unhurried. I loved the storyline this time. There wasn't a murder, but there was definitely a mystery or two to solve and I loved the way it panned out, touching all your senses. Clever thinking and outlay. When the local vet is seriously hurt in a hit and run nothing is as it seems. Then we have a thief who is possibly the link to being the only eye witness to the accident. Top this off with a second possible love interest, who is too good to be true and who I expect will turn out to be just that - a cad- and we then see a smidgen of the green eye from our local sheriff, Erick. Just a tad. What I love about this is the way I'm connecting with everyone and I want to know what happens next in the underlying story too. A big hit this time with book three in the series. Great writing.
This is the third book in the series. I have read it in the order written. I would encourage that because you will appreciate the growth of Mitzy, the main character. That growth is most noticeable in this book. I really loved how Mitzy is settling in with her “family,” which I believe is where her personal growth is coming from. By family, I am referring to more characters than her dad and ghostly Gram. Family is often people we choose. Mitzy is also becoming more comfortable with her gift and learning to use it. I have personally enjoyed the slow paced discovery and education of this part of the story. It allows me time to adjust along side of Mitzy. There is a romance angle, of a sort. Mitzy has been smitten by a certain hot sheriff since she came to town. Aforementioned hot sheriff may, or may not, return the affection. Now, I don’t mind a background romance going on in my cozy mystery. Depending upon various factors, I don’t even mind when it goes from strike to home run in a few books. I can handle a triangle happening for a number of books that eventually goes one way or the other. (Please no stranger popping in after twenty books and that turns out to be the pick with marriage happening before the book ends. I mean we’ve gone twenty books with her debating which guy how does marry in one book someone we don’t know? But I digress. Sorry.) There is something to be said for an uncertain relationship. Mitzy and Erick have chemistry. They also don’t always see eye to eye. So will they or won’t they? I don’t know but I’m having a fun time with the dance. In this book, we have a possible new dance partner enter the scene. I’ll leave that there for you to discover how that goes. Along with a brand new mystery or two that need to be solved. I never give out anything on that. I’m too afraid to spoil your fun. Go enjoy the book!
I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. I read Fries & Alibis and Tattoos & Clues, the first two books in this series, and I really enjoyed them, so I was happy to read this book when it was available.
Mitzy Moon’s vet is a victim of a hit-and-run and, as usual, she’s determined to find out what happened. She has no leads to start with, but with a little help from her growing abilities and her amazing cat Pyewacket, she is able to begin her investigation.
Mitzy hasn’t been in town long since she inherited her grandmother’s bookstore, but she’s viewed as a local rather than an outsider. She’s finally found a home. It’s too bad her grandmother had to die before she finds a place to call home, but at least she’s getting to know Grams in her ghostly form.
The characters in this book are great. Mitzy is independent yet she appreciates it when her Grams sets boundaries. Grams in the ghost form is funny and must have been a force of nature when she was alive. The two men in Mitzy’s life are completely different. Rory makes it known that he wants Mitzy, but there’s something about him…I can’t believe she likes him as much as she does! The sheriff, on the other hand, hasn’t even asked her out, but she flirts with him endlessly, and he seems like a good guy. Much better than the sketchy Rory!
These books are quick and fun reads. I enjoyed Wings & Broken Things and definitely recommend it, as well as the other books in the series. I can’t wait for the next Mitzy Moon mystery!
With each new book in this series my love for the residents Pin Cherry Harbor grows. For me the best part about the series is the relationship Mitzy forms with each character – Grams, Silas, Pye, Odell, Twiggy, Tally. For most of her life Mitzy didn’t really have a family, but when she inherited her deceased grandmother’s bookshop that all changed. In Pin Cherry Harbor you do not have to be blood-related to be family.
Mitzy Moon is spunky and sassy, but also very vulnerable. She “wears her heart on her sleeve. She has “gifts” that are slowly being discovered and nurtured by her Ghost-Ma and alchemist attorney Silas.
The first two books in the series revolved around a murder. I was a bit concerned thinking that is the murders continued at that rate there would be few residents left and tourists would avoid the town. So it was a relief to find this book did not have a murder but still had a case for Mitzy to crack. A hit-and-run and a theft put Mitzy once again in the path of Sheriff “Too Hot to Handle” Harper as she does her own investigation (with the help of Pye).
This being Mitzy’s first winter in Pin Cherry Harbor, she encountered quite a few challenges with which I could totally relate. Being from the South it reminded me of my first winter in Omaha. Learning the proper attire to wear (thank goodness Grams can help her there), trying to drive in the snow, even worse is walking on icy ground. And Mitzy isn’t the most graceful of people (again I relate). I had lots of flashbacks to my own expressions but it still made me laugh.
I was a bit disappointed to read that Grams is not the plump little old lady I had envisioned. While she died in her early thirties, she chose her own “ghost-age” of thirty-five. I just can’t juxtapose that image with her characteristics described in the book.
Rory Bombay is back and is now giving Sheriff Harper some competition. I don’t quite know what to make of him. To me he is sleazy but Mitzy likes him. It will be interesting to find out what direction their relationship will take.
I look forward to Book #4 and highly recommend this series to those who enjoy a light mystery with lots of heart and humor.
2020 bk 202. Pye's favorite bet has been severely injured in a hit and run. The vet is also the brother of Mitzy's favorite waitress. What's a girl got to do when she is begged to bring someone to justice. Springing into action ends up in the creation of a charitable foundation, being smarmed by a charming man who wants her for her books (not her looks), and becoming friends to a teenage loaner. You do what you have do do, somedays. Better than number 2, even with number 1 if not perhaps a tad better. And let's face it, writing the first winter scenes for Arizona-bred Mitzy must have been tremendous fun for Silvertale.
Loved this book just as much as the others! Mitzy finds herself wrapped up in another mystery she needs to solve and encounters some pretty interesting people. This book made me laugh, cringe, and pulled at my heartstrings all in a short amount of time. Will she ever get her man?! And what does this one that is lurking around really want from her? Should she have listened to her Ghost-ma and lawyer?! These books are fast easy reads that never disappoint!! I am looking forward to book #4!! I love that there isn’t a lot of filler just to lengthen the book. These are never boring and have kept my attention.
I Love this series. Each book is better than the last. Every time I read one of Trixie Silvertale's books I'm surprised and delighted! Wings and Broken Things is an amazing book! The mystery is engaging and interesting. This is the third book in this series, and I have to say, I think it just keeps getting better. This book was a little different than the first two as it didn't so much deal with solving a murder, but who wants to live in a town where there a murder every book. I felt that this premise was a nice change of pace and kept things fresh and interesting. Mitzy gets more entangled in several unfortunate situations this time and it makes me wonder how she is going to get out of all these entanglements. it's funny and keeps me wanting more. I highly recommend reading to give it a chance and be ready to read it straight through from start to finish, I did.
Mitzi Moon gets better with each book! Wings and Broken Things is exceptionally good. Mitzi is much more settled into her new life in Pin Cherry Harbor and is beginning to focus on learning about her psychic gifts. She is also developing real relationships with her ghostly grandmother; Silas, her alchemist attorney; Pyewacket, her adopted Caracal; and a new gentleman in her life, Mr. Bombay. The mystery in Wings and Broken Things is different - no one in Pin Cherry Harbor is killed. The lack of a body in no way takes away from the mystery that needs to be solved. Trixie Silvertale did an excellent job of keeping me on my toes! I really enjoyed the new characters who were introduced in the story and hope that they will play a part as the series continues.
I absolutely loved this book. Mitzy Moon is a fabulous character. She is adventurous and kind. She has a heart of gold but she does have a tendency to get in over her head, which causes her to butt heads with the gorgeous sheriff Erick Harper but he is now not the only good looking man that is in Mitzy’s life. This story starts with a winter carnival and ends with a dinner date, but who is the dinner companion? In between there is a case of hit and run and a missing memorial statue. Plus a start up of a foundation that gets Mitzy out of some trouble. This book is a great continuation of what has been built on in the first two books and is definitely worth reading. Cannot wait to read more about Mitzy Moon and her adventures.

I absolutely love this series and it's characters - starting with Mitzy, Grams, Silas, Odell and all the others! They are such fun and as real as can be for a Paranormal Cozy! The situations Mitzy finds herself in, help her to grow in confidence and strength, but she is still the vulnerable little girl who wound up "in the system" when her mom passed away. I just can't put these books down, and this time there is a new possible romantic interest that puts Grams and Silas on edge. Imagine a ghost-ma having a tantrum over someone you'd like to get to know. Hilarious!
Mitzy Moon is in her 3rd crime-solving adventure since moving to Michigan. Her ghost grandmother has more surprises in store as Mitzy tries to find who ran over the local veterinarian. And there’s a romantic interest in Mitzy’s life. I love the latest adventure in Mitzy’s life. Can’t wait to read more!
New season, new crime....same lovable cast of characters in Pin Cherry Harbor
Wings & Broken Things is the third installment in the Mitzy Moon Mysteries series. In this book we get to see Mitzy, once again, jump into crime solving action. Not one...but TWO crimes this time.
As we watch Mitzy handle winter (hilariously) in her new town, we also watch her continued crush on the Sheriff....while another man crushes on her. All of this just adds to the delight that is Mitzy’s story.
I have loved the ensemble cast since book one. The series is really quite fun
Mitzy has another case to solve. The good news is, it's not another murder. But sadly, Ledo, the towns veterinarian, has been hit on his way home. The prognosis isn't good as his injuries have paralyzed him. It's up to Mitzy and her growing abilities, to find out who did this to Ledo. This is my favorite one! It had many emotional elements and the ending? All I will say is "Ricky"?
Every time I pick up a copy of Trixie Silvertales books I am surprised and delighted! In this third installment of the adventures of Mitzy Moon, a hit and run puts the local vet in the hospital. It seems like someone might have witnessed the accident and isn't telling.
What does any of this have to do with a missing cement angel containing the ashes of Oslo Jorgensen and why is Rory Bombay so interested in Mitzy?
Hang on tight because Mitzy, Pyewacket and the rest of her friends are on the case! Ms. Silvertale has come through again with a fresh, fun book that will have you laughing out loud and staying up all night enjoying the antics of the folks in Pin Cherry Harbor.
I recieved an early copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary, honest review.

Wings and Broken Things is the third book in the paranormal cozy mystery series, Mitzy Moon Mysteries. This series just gets more engaging with each new story. The characters are wonderfully quirky and lovable. Mitzy has great character growth. The storyline was well written and captured my interest from beginning to end, with a hit-and-run, a thief, mystery, intrigue, and a fabulously eccentric cast of characters.
I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one in this entertaining series. I read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book with no obligation.
When a neighbor is left for dead after a hit and run, everyone is stunned, sad and angry. Who would do something like that? With the help of Pyewacket, Mitzi is on the case and come what may, she is determined to find the culprit. I love, love, love this series with Mitzi, her ghost-grandma and Pyewacket. I hope this series never ends. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
Loved this book. Mitzy is so much fun and such a character. Of course, her Grandma, who by the way is a ghost, is wonderful and makes the story so much better with her antics. Who can forget Silas, the lawyer who always finds a way to help everyone; and what I would give to eat at Odell’s. My mouth waters every time Mitzy eats at the diner. This story was fast paced and great fun. You will be entertained by the plot and the characters. You may get a craving for fried food, or a piece of heaven in your mouth as Mitzy calls it. A book that should be definitely added to your TBR pile soon.
The third book in a great new series. This series just keeps getting better and better. This book took a fresh approach and had a couple of mysteries to solve without murder. I found this a great idea and keep the characters developing and kept it interesting without another person dying. As the story moves on you really have to love the characters with all their quirky ways. This is a fresh new series that you just aren’t going to want to miss. It is a definitely an entertaining read and gives you all you could hope for-mystery with a few laughs along the way. It’s my favorite new series now.
Another very charming episode in the life of Mitzy Moon. This time misfortune befalls on the town vet and Mitzy makes a few unlikely friends at the same time. A very entertaining slice into her life! I found this extremely easy to read through with humorous content keeping things light sided. And of course, Pyewacket keeps assisting subtly from the sidelines! Looking forward to more about this reluctant investigator/shop owner / possible journalist? All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Not a murder mystery, but a mystery none the less. I am sorry about what happens to Pyewacket’s vet, but it could have been worse. I am ambivalent about Rory Bombay...I can’t tell if I like him or loathe him. He just seems off. I really enjoy reading these mysteries! Trixie Silvertale is a masterful storyteller!
This is the third book in this series, and I have to say, I think it just keeps getting better. This book was a little different than the first two as it didn't so much deal with solving a murder, but more investigation into other crimes. I felt that this premise was a nice change of pace and kept things fresh and interesting.
Besides an entertaining storyline, I also really enjoy Mitzy as a character. I feel like she is growing so much, not just responsibly, but emotionally, and I think that is important because it allows the reader to feel that connection. She has always been likable and fun, but I think she is so much more than that, and I can't wait to see where she ends up next. I also enjoyed the dynamic of a possible love triangle to amp up the drama and give the story room to move.
Overall, I think this series is wonderful, and this book, in general, was fantastic. It was unique, funny, and engaging. It could be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading them all because they are great reads.
From the first book in this series, it became my favorite witch cozy. However, they just keep getting better as the characters and setting continue gaining vibrant life. If you like quirky characters, witty banter, good mystery, try the Mitzy Moon series by Trixie Silvertale!
Mitzy has only been in Pin Cherry Harbor a few months but the people there have become her family. True she has her ghost-ma, who shares the bookstore with her, and her father but so many more have become precious to her.
Though she hasn’t gotten as close to her crush, the sheriff, as she would like! In fact other than butting into is investigations and solving more than a few. Just as often though, he has arrested her for the crimes before she solves them. Thank goodness she inherited her grandmother’s lawyer along with everything else.
When beloved local vet is the victim of a hit and run, Mitzy just has to investigate! What sort of trouble will she get into this time? Even though the sheriff hasn’t responded to her interest in him, someone else has their eye on Mitzy. Will competition spark Sheriff Erick’s desires at last?
Love this series. Each book is better than the last. Mitzy & the crazy cast of characters will have you laughing. The ending was the best. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 4.
