A compelling and compulsive thriller, I read it largely in two breathless sittings.
Taut action and narrative twists are underpinned by a keen use of language and characterisation and a palpable sense of the real world. Russian political corruption and violence give the novel an edge that only ever enhances the sense of threat, as the protagonists are exposed to extreme peril.
The opulence and gratuitous wealth of the super-yacht setting adds to the tension as events escalate and the boat itself becomes a site of life-threatening danger.
I really don’t think read a better book this year. Loved the two main characters. Couldn’t put down towards the end. Highly recommend read this one. Surprised so few reviews. Will buy his other book immediately
