Strelitzias in Spring

She is chaotic and disorganized, while he thrives on order and control.

Brainiac, freak, just a few of the names that have been thrown at me since I started college at sixteen. It’s not that I liked the designations, but I was used to them and learned to block the jabs out.

But then, the strangest thing happened; I made friends, the fabled “ride or dies” who hold your hair back after too many drinks, cry with you on the sofa when your life implodes, and encourage you to spread your wings. I changed from “nerd” to “Rena,” a college student who went to parties and kissed boys.

Everything was great… until it wasn’t. And then I met him.

Wolf McCleery is like no man I’ve ever met before. He’s stubborn, artistic, and infamous for his MMA fights. Opposites in every way, there’s no reason for our attraction, yet I can’t deny that every time I’m in his presence I want him.

But when Wolf becomes my savior, will he be too stubborn to submit, or will he become the big bad wolf who protects me from my demons?

Strelitzias in Spring is book three in the Marymount University series. Though it can be read as a standalone, it is recommended to read the books in order. 18+. This book contains graphic sexual scenes, violence, and parental emotional abuse. Please take care of yourself and your well-being when reading.

I was so excited for next book in the Marymount University series! We met Wolf in the last book and he was the total opposite of Serena…how would they work?

I will tell you - very well!! They have such intense chemistry and neither one knows what to do with it. This book is more of slow burn compared to the previous two but the payoff is most definitely there. There are some steamy scenes!!

I have loved Serena since we met her in the first book. I love how smart and quirky she is and her confidence has really grown. I love how she stands up for herself as this story goes on. There is a particularly emotional scene towards then end where I gave her my own virtual slow clap.

Wolf is described as Jamie Fraser (from Outlander) with tattoos and I was here for it! He comes across as grumpy and brooding and he had been hurt in the past. He is very protective and supportive of Serena. He is also very neat and organized and no joke, organizes her bathroom. It is a very funny scene.

I love the banter between them, and of course the characters from the previous books make an appearance. No spoilers but there a scene involving wigs and disguises with Ava and Cece that will have you laughing out loud!

Definitely give this entire series a read!!

Lola has done it again!! If you have read the first two books in this series you know it's fast burn but with Wolf and Serena it's slooooow burn, like watching a tasty one pot meal simmer just below the surface until its just about to boil over and thats where you know the good stuff is!! Did I just compare this book to a one pot meal? Yes. Cause Wolf is a whole ass meal!

Serena Castillo, a college student and an all-around young woman, is doing her best to please everyone but ultimately not doing what pleases her. Her friends and family decide to make her out to be the bad guy when all she's trying to do is figure out life. Aren't we all?

Serena and her friends, Ava and Celeste, go into Wolf McCleerys tattoo shop, Ink and Needle looking to get tats and be on their way but what Wolf didn't bargain for was sweet yet Feisty Serena to walk into his life and make him see what being happy truly means.

The fact that he calls her princess, growls at her, and absolutely devours every inch of her makes me f*cking feral for him!! The only complaint I have is I wish it was a little bit longer.

Thank you again, Lola, for this wonderful yet sexy arc!!! I can't wait to Linc and Seras book. 🫶

Read this if you like:
✨age gap
✨ angst
✨ slow burn

This was my first Lola Miles book and I really enjoyed it. It was a quick and easy read and though part of a series it wasn’t necessary to read the other 2 books first.

The slow burn was burning between Wolf and Serena for just the right amount of time. I loved the angst and inner monologue Wolf had while fighting how he was feeling. I really enjoyed him as a character.

Serena was exactly how a 19 year old should’ve been portrayed. Thinking she knew the world and that she was an adult (while she did go through some heavy trauma that immaturity level was still there) I thought her connection with Wolf was done really well, even though she slightly annoyed me as a character 😂 I was rooting for them throughout the book.

This is definitely a really good read, a perfect contemporary romance with the just right amount of spice that was well-written and enjoyable!

I stumbled across the first two book in this series and loved them both. The author was clear in that this one deviates slightly from those and I would have to agree. I wanted Serena’s story so badly and while I was excited to have her paired with Wolf, I struggled a lot with these two. I’m not sure why but I never connected in a way that made me root for them the way I did with the first two couples. I felt almost that the secondary characters were stealing the story at times, especially Serena’s mother. Overall, it completed the series so we get closure and I did love the HEA these two get.

I have really loved this series and when the last book left off I was super excited for this one! Serena has always intrigued me most so I was anxious to see how her story would play out! Although, this book was the least suspenseful but Lola does an amazing job of mixing the sweet with spicy along with keeping you on the edge of your seat with elements of suspense!

Serena and Wolf are complete opposites but I think that's what makes their relationship such a good one! Serena meets Wolf, who is CeCe's cousin, when they go into his tattoo shop. Immediately, they are both intrigued with each other but shake it off.

However, Serena has dealt with a lot of family issues and when she gets her first tattoo it helps her to cope with her feelings. She wants to go back to get another one but Wolf turns her down.

Because Wolf is CeCe's cousin and Serena is CeCe's best friend they find themselves around each other more and more. Serena is unsure if she should pursue Wolf with her bad track record with guys but he proves her wrong immediately.

Even though they agree to be a no strings attached relationship, one time isn't enough. They grow closer and realize they are exactly what the other needs to calm the demons inside each other.

I felt out of the whole series this was the most emotional and I felt I related to Serena the most. I have loved all the characters and this series will always have a special place in my heart! Lola is an auto buy author for me and I can't wait to see what she writes next!

This was my first book from Lola Miles and from now on I will be reading every book she publishes no questions asked!

Serena is a 18 year old college student that started college at the age of 16. The book starts with her losing ger v card to her step sister's ex boyfriend and her best friend betraying Serena by telling step sister about the "relationship". Her father taking the side of the step sister, Serena feels lonelier than she's ever felt before.

After a very brutal week for Serena and her 2 friends (CeCe & Ava) that she met in college decide that all of them getting tattoos done by CeCe's cousin is the best way to cheer themselves up. That's how we meet the hero of this story Wolf.

Serena is instantly attracted to Wolf, but she's too shy to make a move. And Wolf has no intention of getting involved with a girl that's 6 years younger than him. But fate has different plans.

After rescuing Serena from a party that went south and learning about her failure if a tattoo on her back, the two develop a bond that neither has had before. They agree to "Just one time", but they both can't keep away from each other.

I loved how mature both Wolf & Serena were. Serena had to grow up and face many hardships in life at a young age and it definitely shows in the kind of person she is. She doesn't take shit from anyone and isn't willing to let people walk over her. I loved this girl so much! She was shy, but also put Wolf in his place and brought him to his senses multiple time!

The creative way that Wolf covered Serena's failed tattoo was amazing! I love a creative mind and how they incorporate different things to symbolize one's thoughts is amazing!

I will definitely be going back and reading CeCe & Ava's books!

After finishing Lilies in Autumn and Daffodils in Winter, I was SO excited to get my hands on Wolf and Serena's book!! Wolf and Serena cannot be more unlike one another. But when fate draws them in together, we'll see who breaks first when the lust and feelings take over. Seeing Serena slowly come out of her shell in the previous two books while standing up for herself against her stepsister and the heinousness that is the D boys (lol not their actual names, but they both start with D so it's worth it). And the protective instincts that Wolf had throughout the books supporting her was just so heartwarming to see. Both of them faced their own difficulties while growing up and in their current lives, but once they started to lean on one another and look beyond their differences, it really made a world of a difference. The banter between these two was top notch, but the intimacy and love that they had from one another since the beginning made my heart sing.

Also so glad to see Ava and CeCe and their men back in this book, the banter between this group is top notch and I love them so much! I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Of course, I cannot reveal who the couple is, you just gotta read and find out ;)

Wolf and Serena

WOW, that is it! This book was so good. It is the third book in the series of standalones and they are all so freakin good.
This book follows Serena and Wolf who we have seen in the previous books. Wolf is an almost retired MMA fighter and a tattoo artist. Serena is a junior in college and knows Wolf through her best friend Cece who is Wolfs cousin.

Serena gets her first tattoo from Wolf and there is in instant attraction, but neither say or do anything about it. Serena is going through alot with her family life and holds alot of stress but when she got tattooed she felt better, hence why she is going back for another.

She and wolf end up spending time together talking about her next tattoo, and Wolf just cant get her out of his mind. All the time they spend together and get to know oneanother, leads to true feelings when neither were expecting it. Serena trusts Wolf with her life and he feels the same about her.
You can feel their emotions in your bones while reading the words describing them. I just loved both of these characters so much. I HIGHLY recommend this book and the others in the Marymount University series!!!

AND the tattooing of eachother-- YYESSSSS

I have loved this series, and this book was a little different than the other two, this one was filled with crazy angst that made you heartbeat faster just waiting for them to fall for each other. Serena has had a rough time lately those who should care about her are treating her poorly and trampling all over her heart. Even the person she thought of as her best friend annihilated her trust. Her father is an absolute jerk. Her two closest friends Cece and Ava convince her to get a tattoo that when she meets the sexy alpha Wolf CeCe's cousin. We have instant attraction, but he struggles with the age gap and other things and tries to keep away from her. The more and more time they spend together you see their feelings and relationship grow it was perfect and kept you wanting more. He becomes very protective and caring towards her and that's exactly what she needs. I loved the growth that Serena had throughout the book it was magical to watch her come into her own. Wolf was a man all his own and even though he was gruff and could be a jerk you still fall in love with his character. This book had a great pace one that really showed you who the characters truly were and how they find their way to each other. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

This was the 3rd book in the series Marymount University.
This was Seraphina's story. She became friends with Celeste and Ava from previous books.
Seraphina is an introvert, shy, very very smart and passionate when needed to be.
I really felt sorry for her, with everything going on with her father and step sister.
Wolf is Celeste's cousin. He is a giant of a man, grumpy, confident and loves Tattooing. He is ready to quit his MMA career.
When Seraphina goes with her friends to get a tattoo, she meets Wolf. They have sizzling chemistry from the start.
Wolf is fighting it because of the 6 Yr age gap. They are opposite in every way yet their attraction is hard to fight.
I loved his possessive ways when it came to Seraphina. It was comical seeing him getting frustrated. I really enjoyed reading their journey to HEA. The whole group of friends is forever a fun group.
I love how Ava and Celeste give her strength and confidence.
Overall it was a very pleasant book to read with very very hot intimate scenes 🥵.
Great series and highly recommend. I knew Lincoln was going to get his own story and I can't wait for it.

Lola Miles blew me away with this one! I absolutely loved Wolf and Serena. They are hands down my favorite opposites attract book couple.

Serena's been through a lot with her family, and is finally coming out of her shell and sticking up for herself, which was beautiful to see, when she starts to get to know Wolf on a more intimate level.

I loved how Lola Miles touched on issues that young adults face in real life through Serena. While Serena knew Wolf through his cousin (and her BFF), she really started bonding with him over her tattoo. The two of them formed a genuine connection and bond that naturally turned into more. There's was a sweet slow burn but burn they did! Hot!

Wolf really took book boyfriend to another level the way he protected Serena. Their chemistry and connection was so pure. They were a perfect example of bringing out the best in your partner, while also becoming a better version of yourself. They just fit.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from Lola Miles!

My actual rating is 3.5 ⭐️ but rounded up to 4⭐️

New to me author and I'm not sure how I feel about this book. I thought the overall story was okay. The characters were the problem and things I thought were left unresolved. Usually in books it is the FMC I can not stand but in this book it was the MMC, Wolf, that I could not stand. He was so hot and cold all the time, not in a good way either. He constantly talked down to the FMC Serena and her friends, one of which was his cousin. He was rude and disrespectful to the FMC many times. While it was clear he was attracted to her but he was just soo ugh.. I don't even know. I just didn't like him. The FMC had a tough childhood and was doing her best to get over it and move on but she keeps hitting set backs. I love Serena’s mom so much but her dad and step-sister were awful. I really felt bad for her but at the same time admired her for all that she had been through and where she was going. This book just wasn't for me overall.

Review:
Stelitzias in Spring is a solid age gap/college romance without relying on the stereotypical student/teacher dynamic. Lola Miles does a great job bringing the struggles of early adulthood to life through Serena.

While I enjoyed the story, then ending felt a bit abrupt. I would have enjoyed a bit more romance throughout the book instead of mostly at the end.

Strelitzias in Spring is perfect for readers who enjoy a solid age gap romance, an independent and easily anxious FMC, and a 6’6” Scotsman who can wield a tattoo gun.

Thank you to Lola Miles for the ARC.

Wolf and Serena's story is 🫠🥵🌶
This is the third book in this stand-alone series. I love a series where the characters from each book appear and you feel a part of their world.
With this book, we still get to see Ava and Cece and their banter while also seeing how they are rubbing off on Serena...in the best way, of course. I definitely had some chuckles from these girls.
But Wolf, OMG Wolf. The read headed big burley, over protective MMA fighter/tattoo artist. Yeah, he made me understand what a book boyfriend is!!
This book is definitely a slow burn as we spend the first part really learning about Serena and Wolf and watching them try to act like there is nothing going on between them.. but the burn, uhhh, it burns sooooo good. And when Wolf stops grunting his responses....let me tell you the words that come out of this grumpy man's mouth will have you squealing!

✍️ I've been waiting forever for Serena and Wolf's story, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. This book has the perfect slow-burn romance— but let me tell you this. When the spice hit, it DETONATED! Serena is sweet but tough, and Wolf is a tough boxer and tattoo artist. What I also admire about their relationship is how they both grew as adults. They're total opposites, but they fit together so well. Seeing Serena find her place and Wolf caring for her is just heartwarming. Wolf being dominant is exactly what Serena needed, and seeing her stand up for herself made me so happy. If you love sweet and spicy romances, this book is for you!

Strelitzias in Spring is book 3 in the Marymount University Series. This was my first Lola Miles book, and now I plan on going back to read the other two. I ate this book up. I ate this book up!

Serena is having a rough go at the moment, learning from mistakes based on emotional moments. Her two friends (CeCe & Ava) from college convince her to get a tattoo as a group.
Enter Wolf, big and burly MMA fighter and tattoo artist who is also CeCe's cousin. There is clearly immediate attraction but neither party wants to act on that attraction.

The rest of the story is an awesome age gap romance with no third act break-up.

It’s the third book in the series, yet it still amazing!🤩
Serena and Wolf’s story burned slowly, with every chapter oozing with heat and tension. The chemistry was instantly there. From start to finish, different emotions were felt. I was so happy on how Serena and her Mom overcame their problems with Serena’s dad and his family. It also made me proud on how Serena fought back to the people who hurt her. Ava and Cece made me laugh so much. Their friendship and how they were there flr Serena warmed my heart. It was so nice hearing from them again. And lastly, Wolf made me blush and giggle so much. His words and protectiveness just made me swoon and melt 🫠.

Overall , another 5 ⭐️ read from Lola Miles! I can’t wait for Lincoln story 😆.

This is about Wolf and Serena.

The first time she sees him at the tattoo shop she is hooked… She acts like a complete fool around him haha

Wolf is 6 years older than Serena and his cousin CeCe is one of Serena’s best friends.

He doesn’t deny that Serena is gorgeous but the age difference bothers him…

They bicker back and forth a lot and you know eventually they are gonna cave…

Wolf rescue’s her from a party… They go back to her place and the air just keeps getting more and more tense🙃

Serena’s dad is absolutely horrible along with her stepsister…

Wolf is also a mma fighter but is retiring because he loves to tattoo more. He has one fight left before he is done.

Things get hot but it’s just supposed to be a one time thing…….😏

Serena Castillo is a young 19 year graduate student, to be more of her independent individual self she wants to get a tattoo. One of her two bestfriend older cousin Wolf owns a shop. He’s a bit of an obsessive with cleanselyness and structure & rules. She doesn’t want to follow because those who are suppose to love you unconditionally failed her. So, Wolf does their small tattoos and gives after care instructions. But Serena wants another to represent her growth. But she wasn’t to sure. So he sends her away. Until she makes a rash decision.. now something with special means looks like flying phallus’s and it looks infected. Wolf now can’t get the disorganized college girl out of his mind. Can he help her with her ruined tattoo? Can he stop himself from stepping in in helping her out of situations.

Cute story that centres around Serena, college student and brainiac, a hot tattoo artist called Wolf, and a bunch of loveable friends.

This is Serena and Wolf's love story. It's slow to start but the nature of all of Serena's complex problems dictates this. Wolf's eventual realisation that he can't fight his feelings makes this slow start even more heartfelt.

The story is full of great characters, insightful emotions, fun friendships and sexy spicy moments. Both MCs are relatable and real, as is their relationship. Loved the tattoo theme and the fact that while Wolf was an obvious alpha male he knew how to not be one of the complete OTT characters that litter so many romances. Great read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

“Stop fucking kissing me, princess. And lock the goddamn door.”

Whew!!!! At the end of Cece and Dante's book I wasn't sure what to expect with Wolf and Serena but Lola definitely knocked this out of the park. I knew I was going to hate her dad and Marina going into this and I definitely did not change my mind at all throughout the story if anything I hated her dad more. Now on to Wolf and Serena! They were amazing even with the slow burn I still loved them so much. I was nervous going into this but their push and pull with Wolf showing up to rescue her and when she didn't answer her phone were amazing! Also can we clap for the fact that Serena did not let Kelly's annoying ass bother her! Anyways 10/10 and definitely will reread again because I loved both MC's.

I was so excited to finally have Serena’s story! The teaser at the end of book 2 had me itching for what happens next!

This book was slower burn than the first 2, but it was perfect because it built up the tension and angst. And once the spice hit, it was worth the wait! Wolf was absolute Grade-A book boyfriend material!

I loved the group of friends Serena had. They made me laugh out loud while also crying because of how protective they were of Serena. She deserved them in her corner and they did not disappoint!

My only complaint about the book was it was unclear what truly happened to her former best friend. It kind of left off in a weird place and I felt like there wasn’t any clarity on that outcome, but honestly he can go kick rocks 🤷‍♀️

This book (and whole series honestly) deals with some pretty heavy topics, but in a real way which makes them un-put-downable!

Be sure to check out Strelitzias In Spring today!!

This is book three of Marymount University series. I had not read the previous two books beforehand but this can be read as a standalone. The story follows the lives of Serena, an academic prodigy who started college at just 16 years old and Wolf, the ex MMA fighter following his passion for tattooing. Serena is now a 19 year old junior in college trying to be free from the emotional abuse that she has withstood from her father, his new family, her former best friend, and the boy she gave her virginity to. Wolf is the man who wants to help set her free. He is a textbook alpha male wanting to protect her from all that try to hurt her while fighting that she may be too good for him. I loved watching Serena grew as a person with Wolf by her side giving her strength to fight back against those that try and cause her pain. I loved their friendship turned relationship.

🌸 I was sent an ARC for this book 🌸

I really appreciate the opportunity to be an advanced reader for this story 🥳

I went into this read not really sure how I’d feel about it but I must say I love this book! This is the first time I’ve read anything from this Author and I will be reading every single book released from here on out!

The chemistry between the two MCs is exquisite, the tension, the sass, the give and take, I’m hooked 🪝 I appreciate that the tension was built up for so long but then when it finally broke there was nothing unrealistic about it and it was still amazing 🤩

The story is really good and surprisingly relatable which I enjoy because not every romance book is super easy to relate to so it’s a nice change for me 🥰 There’s also multiple conflicts of varying intensity which held my interest throughout the entire book and made it so i just wanted to keep reading.

I devoured this story in less than a day 😅 highly recommend reading this one and I will be reading anything I see from Lola Miles from here on out!

Slow burn with spice

Book3 is a great add to the series. It may be the favorite. It can be read as a standalone.

Serena is extremely intelligent. She started college at just 16. Now she is a 19 year junior. Her family life wasn’t great but she found a new family at Marymount University. She is still trying to break free from the abuse. Wolf, a MMA fighter, currently a wanting to expand as a tattoo artist, is the one who will take her to the next step.

A casual relationship that turns into something more. These two get way more than they anticipated.
Great journey from friends to forever.

Wow!! I loved this book so much!!!

Serena is friends with Celeste and Ava. They decide to get a tattoo so she comes along. Upon walking in she find the most handsome man who is giant. It’s Celeste’s cousin but she can’t help feeling the butterflies that’s she has been longing for.

Wolf is a tattoo artist and MMA fighter. His true passion is tattoos. When his cousin comes in with Ava and Serena he is blown away. Serena is so beautiful but he resists because of the 6 year age gap.

I love these two so much!! I really enjoyed this book!! I want to thank Lola for allowing me an arc to this book I am so grateful and loved it!! 🫶🫶

My first book by this author, I have to say I really love how she writes. She truly writes from the heart. Her characters are just so wonderful, they are so relatable.

Wolf seems like such a great male character, he’s strong but shows a sensitive side with Serena and truly feels for her. He doesn’t want to cause of the age difference but he just can’t stay away.

Then you have Serena that has gone through so much with drama from her father, she’s been hurt by her bestie. It’s just all piles up on her. She finds Wolf and he really helps her stand up for herself and truly these two characters complement each other.

I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Serena has just had the worst luck while at school (except for meeting her 2 best friends of course). She agrees to go with CeCe and Ava while they get their tattoos. There she meets Wolf. They are both enamored with the other except Wolf doesn’t want to like Serena. He thinks she is too young and has way too much going on for herself to want him. But fate steps in and they end up spending more and more time together slowly getting to know each other.

I first fell in love with Lola’s writing for Lilies in Autumn and I have been hooked ever since. While this was a change from her first 2 inst-love over-the-top protective male character stories, the slow burn and pining between these two was so delicious. Serena is so incredibly smart that she makes herself appear timid. Yet she grows so much as she learns to stand up to Wolf. The slight age gap for this story made it more believable as far as age-gaps go. Wolf does not want to like Serena and yet he is so protective of her. I loved how much he cared for her as the story went. I would gladly let Wolf do my next tattoo. No third-act breakup and it was so well done. Everything about this story was a joy to read.

This book is a 180 pivot from Miles previous works and it doesn’t disappoint. Her writing style is so easy to read and enjoy making the book go by quickly. Probably, too quick. Wolf McClery is a very different looking MMC and at first I was hesitant to appreciate his Jamie Fraser-esque description. But you really come around to him. Serena’s character was simply sweet, poor girls been through it and I felt for her which totes back to Miles writing. Would 10/10 recommend this book to other readers!

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed this storyline. Serena and Wolf were both well written characters and I loved the friendship Serena had with Cece and Ava.
Wolf meets Serena when she comes in the get her first tattoo with her friends and there is an undeniable attraction, but Wolf is bothered by the 6 year age gap. But when he goes to get her at a party, and realizes she tried to get a bad tattoo from someone else (butterfly d$cks lol), they start to get a little closer as they meet to fix it.
The chemistry between them was sizzling.
