LIVING

Ryan Shale is on top of the world. Busy renovating the new home he's bought with Jake, he's excited for the imminent birth of his own son - a little brother for Jake's boy, Kody. He's ready to pop the question and has had rings secretly engraved. Although he senses a storm brewing behind Jake's stoic façade, he dismisses it as stress from their recent house move, all the hard work of which is finally behind them. They've only one last morning of spirit-finding to undertake, and then the family celebrations for Jake's thirtieth birthday can really begin

DYING

Jake Taberner has run out of time, but still hasn't told Ryan that he's hiding a truth more devastating than any spectre he's faced. His inoperable brain aneurysm is about to rupture and cut his life short, leaving his partner alone and his young son an orphan. He has just enough time left to get inside the derelict shell of Chesworth Towers. Once he's found out whether the rest of the Sycamore boys' bodies are buried there, he intends to tell Ryan everything. But the day doesn't go to plan. The routine Location Event turns dire when the spirits inside the statelv home ensnare Jake, forcing him into a catastrophic two-storey drop which inflicts grievous injuries. In hospital he's placed in an induced coma and Ryan is forced to battle on with the manhunt alone. Will the fall shatter the couple's dreams, or can their love provide a vital safety net as Jake navigates the tightrope back from the brink of death?

Blueprint for Disaster is the second book in a three book series by Dan Garrett. It is a fast-paced book with an incredible story to tell. You can't wait to see the next development. All the characters are so developed that you actually feel like they are real people. I really recommend this book.

Christ almighty, you think the first book was a rough ride?
Yeah well... gird your loins for this one, then (I have no idea what that saying means but a good girding is essential for this book).
The case will break your heart in even tinier pieces, you will root your heart out with all the rooting you are doing for them (reads a bit gruesome, but seriously, it hurts a bit to have to live trough everything life throws at these two during book two) and you will become a Marty fan and want to buy a house by the sea.
What a turbulent ride towards book three!
God, I love this series...

Satirical, dark and gritty, the middle book in this rollercoaster trilogy kept the relentless pace going with heartstopping action. Blueprint held me enthralled from start to finish with its terrifying scenes in Chesworth Towers and the tender romance between Ryan and Jake only deepening as Ryan juggles hospital visits at the ICU with managing their young family at home!

Probably not as harrowing a read as the first book but equally as engaging. Bring on the next book asap!!
