The first two novels in the New York Times bestselling Powerless romantic fantasy series packed with spicy tension and edge-of-your-seat betrayal are now available together in one collectible hardcover boxed set—perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and The Red Queen.
She is the very thing he’s spent his whole life hunting. He is the very thing she’s spent her whole life pretending to be.
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.
Surviving in the slums as an Ordinary is no simple task, and Paedyn knows this better than most. Having been trained by her father to be keenly observant since she was a child, Paedyn poses as a Psychic in the crowded city, blending in with the Elites as best she can to stay alive and out of trouble…easier said than done.
When Paeydn unsuspectingly saves one of Ilya’s princes, she finds herself thrown into the Purging Trials. The brutal competition exists to showcase the Elites’ powers—the very thing Paedyn lacks. If the Trials and the opponents within them don’t kill her, the prince she’s fighting feelings for certainly will if he discovers what she is…completely Ordinary.
But even once her secret gets out, Pae’s fate seems hopelessly intertwined with Kai’s—for better or worse.
This swoon-worthy hardcover boxed set includes: Powerless Reckless
When Lauren Roberts isn't writing about fantasy worlds and bantering love interests, she can likely be found burrowed in bed reading about them. Lauren has lived in Michigan her whole life, which makes her very familiar with potholes, snow, and various lake activities. She has the hobbies of both a grandmother and a child: knitting, laser tag, hammocking, word searches, and coloring. Powerless is her first novel (now a New York Times Best Seller), and she hopes to have the privilege of writing pretty words for the rest of her life. If you enjoy ranting, reading, and writing, Lauren can be found on both TikTok and Instagram @Laurenrobertslibrary for your entertainment.
I DEMAND FEARLESS NOW!! I CANT WAIT ANYMORE IM UP TILL 3 ON A03 (illegal i know 😭) STAYING UP READING FANFICS JS SO I CAN AT LEAST THINK ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT! LAUREN YOU ARE A BRILLIANT WRITER AND I CANT TAKE THIS TORTURE ANYMORE
Yet another familiar storyline in this trilogy. Red Queen meets Hunger Games… but I liked this one even more than the others. All three books were good reads.
Since festive plagues isnt here on goodreads then this is it bcuz i said so anyway i miss kai so much that i think im going to reread this 5 pages bonus chapter...
The plot is okayish and there's also the fact that there are books with plots wildly similar to this like red queen so honestly I have no idea what to say.
And the themes and tropes used are so overused.
I don't think fantasy books should still be stuck on that both brothers obsessed with a girl, the romance tears them apart, one of them ends up terrible and drastically different even though there's not enough plot development to support it. And so many more
The worst thing is the fact it's totally identical to other books which was honestly a letdown.
I don’t know where to start. First of all, I’ve never cried more for books until I’ve read this series. This series recked me and revived me. I finally got the ending I’ve wanted since reading Powerless at the beginning of the school year, and I’m so glad this series got me through it. During study halls I would read this series when I had no school work to do. Even tho Lauren made me mad a lil especially after Reckless, and sometimes during Fearless, but never the less I love you for writing this series and “This life is sweet…Just like honey.”😊☺️
Powerless started out a tad bit slow but picked up and ended well! Reckless was a good read through and through and I enjoyed the entire story. Ready for Fearless!
Love this series so much, if you’re a romantascy fan, I deeply recommend! 💜❤️🩷
Paedyn and Kai are my favourite ship out of any book i’ve literally ever read, they have so much chemistry it’s actually insane. Wish we got to see more in to their happy ending as it was such a long time coming!! Their scenes truly made the book icl, they pushed it to five stars.
The book was mostly amazing but some parts were confusing/rushed. However, Kai and Pae made up for it so it’s fine.
