No notes. Obsessed. Getaway and runaway are now my two favorite mafia romances EVER. Adrik Kozlov. One of my new favorite MMCs ever and Celina….. literally one of the best FMCs I’ve ever read. aspects that didnt hit for me
- very rude, condescending fmc that is lowkey unjustified in all of her remarks. theres a limit and line before it get blatantly annoying. eg; making fun of her body guards who are trying to protect her.
- you know when stylists say not to have too many patterns and colours in an outfit? well yes! this also applies to a story. too many plot twists, violent actions, unjustified remarks, characters, filler events that try, oh so hard to act like a major plot just get lost in translation. it all adds to nothing in the end,
- everytime the fmc would open her mouth and/or act insufferable in her monologue her ass would get handed to her. literally. she gets kidnapped, shot and the list goes on. i know that the author said her whole character is like that but it became annoying because she was all bark no bite.
- so i may not be a stem girl buttt i am a english/history girl. and i do have complaints about the writing and certain speech and word choices not to mention the plot...

I'm in a worst slump more like life slump. Istg academic stress is the worst. It's like I've lost my charm and my enthusiasm. But i'm trying, everyday. It took me a while to finish this book but i swear it's only because I was too busy and tired. Each and every time I opened this book it drew me and I found comfort and solace in it's own dark twisted world, far away from reality. I laughed with the characters, found my heart aching in their sufferings. I experienced every emotion the author wanted to provoke.
Celina and Adrik were everything. From their chemistry, sexual tension to their love, everything was top-notch. The plot and world-building? Bazookah is a mastermind. The slow-burn burned all the way more because it was a perfect enemies to lovers. All i want is my besties to give this book a try please🙏🥺

The best enemies-to-lovers I've read!!! ❤️🔥
I genuinely think this is the best enemies to lovers I've read so far because they actually HATED each other. And I don't mean the “we're enemies but secretly attracted to each other from the beginning” kind of enemies. They genuinely couldn't stand each other, constantly challenged each other, and neither of them was willing to simply give in.
The beginning was SO good. I really enjoyed the first 30–40 chapters, but then things started dragging and I got a little bored. Thankfully, it picked up again towards the last few chapters.
But some things felt rushed, like that woman's death and Celina's relationship with her father. There were so many things she didn't even get to know about her father, and I wish that had been explored more.
Also, the groveling didn't really do it for me. It felt so rushed, and he was forgiven way too easily for lying to her, manipulating her, leaving her like that, and especially for all the things he said to her. I really wanted MORE groveling.
But I love them so much!! Their bickering, the back-and-forth, the hate-filled spicy scenes, and even the soft, cute moments towards the end I loved all of it.
As Celina said in the last chapter, they really are a match made in hell. 🤭 Also, him wearing a tie and watch in the exact shade of her eyes?? SIR. 😭

The way the author wrote his character development was amazing. It was so smooth and gradual, and didn't just happen overnight. You could actually see him slowly changing throughout the book.
The way his obsession starts and how he slowly becomes so obsessed with touching her the same man who despises physical touch and is literally a germaphobe had me like... SIR?? 😭🫠
I loved seeing how much Celina affected him without him even realizing it at first.

Oh my god, I LOVE HER.
The way she constantly fought back against Adrik and refused to simply do whatever he told her to do?? Loved it. She kept challenging him and defying him at every turn, and honestly, watching him deal with her was so much fun. 😭
She never made things easy for him, and I loved her for that.
And we got Nico and Josie's cameo!! 🥹❤️
I LOVE whenever Nico and Celina interact. Their scenes were so funny, especially all the names she calls him in her monologues. 😭
Overall I really enjoyed this book. The enemies to lovers was genuinely done so well, and Adrik and Celina were such an amazing couple to read.

This is one of the best enemies to lovers mafia romance books I’ve ever read & both Celina & Adrik have me ENTRANCED. The way this author wrote their story she is beyond talented & I hope this gets published!
Celina and Adrik both being morally black and beyond unhinged had me sat the entire time. I loved how they both had their walls up but managed to crack through the other person in their own unique way.
Adrik is a new top 3 mafia man whose complex with so much depth put into his character. His development and seeing him be completely touch averse and gradually wanting Celina HAD ME SWOONING. The mouth on this man had me seeing stars I can’t get over how hot he is
The spice in this is some of the best I’ve ever read
Celina had my jaw on the floor. This is what I call a BADDIE FMC because I’ve never read a book where the FMC had me SCARED she was out here beating everyone up and getting rid of them. I loved watching her grow & learn to trust others and let them in
The plot in this book is so unique I’ve never read anything like it. The way the author intertwined the Russian & Italian mafia elements was done so well. Once this is edited easily a 5 star from me

HELLO TO THE BEST OF THE SERIES😋🫶🏻.
The female lead was very different from what's usually served there. She had a temper, had anger towards her loved ones (that she absolutely didn't hesitate to show💀), had an attitude to her, was mean at some instances, not the innocent victim who'll take the BS of MMC at all. And yet she had a depth to her and deep love for the same family she was angry at. Had a slight tone of "I'm not like other girls" but more of "I'm not meek, sweet, submissive etc like other girls" (spoiler- her mother was all that, and it didn't fare well for her)
The male lead is not a manwhore but more of an untouchable type cold ruthless unfeeling. All because of his traumatic past. Also a germaphobe. The only one who could touch him was the FMC. 🌚🤌🏻
No insta-lust or insta-love. It took time. They almost killed each other or atleast tried to. True enemies.😮💨
Has marriage of convenience while they were in denial of their feelings. Made the smut angsty during their wedding night 🫠❤️🔥

The female lead was very different from what's usually served there. She had a temper, had anger towards her loved ones (that she absolutely didn't hesitate to show💀), had an attitude to her, was mean at some instances, not the innocent victim who'll take the BS of MMC at all. And yet she had a depth to her and deep love for the same family she was angry at. Had a slight tone of "I'm not like other girls" but more of "I'm not meek, sweet, submissive etc like other girls" (spoiler- her mother was all that, and it didn't fare well for her)
The male lead is not a manwhore but more of an untouchable type cold ruthless unfeeling. All because of his traumatic past. Also a germaphobe. The only one who could touch him was the FMC. 🌚🤌🏻
No insta-lust or insta-love. It took time. They almost killed each other or atleast tried to. True enemies.😮💨
Has marriage of convenience while they were in denial of their feelings. Made the smut angsty during their wedding night 🫠❤️🔥

I’m honestly kinda speechless. I’d rate it higher if this wasn’t a blatant ripoff of The Maddest Obsession by Danielle Lori. Surprised why no one else is making that connection on GR, but plenty of others on Wattpad have made comments on it. The MMCs entire personality from the OCD (he does everything in 3s), his looks(dark hair blue eyes incredibly handsome), the sex scenes(car sex scene was blatantly ripped off), even certain phrases are word for word... Not to mention he’s Russian and she’s Italian (literally the same as TMO), and the Wattpad author went so far as using the same pet names (malyshka) as author Danielle Lori did. The audacity of the author asking others not to copy her work, while she CLEARLY copies another I could go on about the similarities but at some point it becomes straight up plagiarism. In the notes of the previous book Bazookah mentions she’s reading TMO and how much she loved it, so I know she got inspired but it’s a whole other thing to steal so many themes from another book. The plot may have changed, but there were WAY too many instances where it felt like I was reading a badly written TMO (which I have read like 30 times because it’s one of my favorites, so I can easily spot the similarities) Even names like Gianna and Nico were stolen from Danielle Lori. But unfortunately for this author, this book didn’t hold a candle to the original. The dragged out immaturity, the failed attempt at being as witty and funny, the barely there emotional connection, it was enough to give me secondhand embarrassment. I know people love this book, and probably don’t care that it’s a ripoff but it had to be said. 🤷🏻♀️The sad thing is, this author is not untalented, and I actually enjoyed her previous book until I started noting all the stolen parts. This was the one of first wattpad series I’ve ever read, and I fear the hate they get is valid because I’m not going near Wattpad again, and I have Bazookah to thank for that.

Very hard to get through. The beginning sounded promising but as the story progressed the repetition was very boring. And it just felt like the story was being draggedddd. The girl was super inconsistent you’re either a pushover or not. I wanted a badass fmc but she was not that 😐 the guy was consistent and a dick for the most part but what he was and did was at least consistent. the girl would so easily fold and was easily humiliated and manipulated by the mcm. And she always took him back. I needed yearning and begging and if he ever did do that it wasn’t done right since it wasn’t memorable at least for me.

I loved whenever she would talk about other men in front of adrik and make him jealous and possessive 😌. I also loved that adrik would do anything for celina and that she’s the only woman he’s ever touched 🤭.

Now how do I even begin…
This book was so so so hyped and maybe that’s why I’m so disappointed. Genuinely wtf was going on. Constant betrayal and constant lying from both of them. Like I didn’t mind it in the beginning cause they’re enemies, it made sense at that point to try and trick each other or keep things or lie. But it just continued… it was like one step forward and 3 steps back.
I don’t even remember all the things adrik did but leaving her to drown after the whole boat fire thing was diabolical. I don’t care that he came back. Like at that point they’d made some sort of connection. Like literally the scene just before that they seemed to be having a heart to heart and then he just leaves her there to drown KNOWING SHE CANT SWIM??? HELLO. I wish that was his only offence. Her dad was shitty yes but adrik manipulated everything to make it seem like her dad was worse than he was. Like he wasn’t winning father of the year award but for adrik to just lie to Celina about everything and manipulate the situation so he can get her on his side… no thanks. Also meeting her dad behind Celina’s back to further fuel the fire was just the cherry on top
Now Celina I did not mind at the start. But she also got annoying and just like wtf are you doing girl…
The constant back and forth of her being mad at him and then just folding cause he’s hot… girl please. What she did in the “climax” was so crazy cause I legit believed she was gonna go through with it which was insane.
Overall from both sides it seemed like obsessive possessive lust and not love. They did not have any sort of meaningful conversation and just seemed like they did not talk to each other. Even tho we as the reader were in Adrik’s pov we still did not know anything about him until like 60% so imagine how that was for the supposed coupe. They seemed to never talk or have a meaningful conversation about each other. I didn’t get the big “why” should they end up together sort of thing. At the end of the day it is a wattpad book and even tho I have read some good ones, this wasn’t one. Overhyped for sure bc I’m not sure why we’re comparing these 2 dysfunctional characters to some of the best book couples. It was gonna be 1 star but I liked the side characters, Nico and Josie cameos and Celina’s little brother.

This literally took me over a week to read. It was so freaking long for no goddamn reason, and it was way more repetitive than it needed to be…
But my biggest issue was the characters. Both the mmc and the fmc were absolutely exhausting. Their constant bickering got old within the first few chapters, and every time they opened their mouths, I was like “OH MY GOD… just cut this shit already!” It made both of them feel incredibly immature. I kept waiting for them to stop the drama and just have one normal conversation, but that didn’t really happen until around 60% into the book
I was actually looking forward to the fmc because I already couldn’t stand the mmc, but somehow they both ended up frustrating me. I genuinely hated the way they were written!
Runaway was honestly so much more enjoyable than this, and even the fmc in that book felt way more mature than this one (I’m mainly comparing the fmcs because I already slightly disliked both mmcs anyway lmao).
I made it to around 70% before calling it quits. I kept hoping it would get better, but I just couldn’t force myself to keep reading anymore, so this one’s a dnf for me

why was the ending absolute cinema.. like omllll. celina and adrik have come such a long way 🥹. the story line from the beginning of the series to the end took some while to comprehend but honestly i didn't even need to understand all of it. i cant even lie i shed a tear or two when reading the last chapter bc why was it so damn sad. bazookah rlly did such a good job on this book. so so so many poetic quotes throughout this whole book and series. i genuinely thought i liked nico and josie better but after reading getaway i like celina and adrik more.. the way the book started off with them being COMPLETELY ENEMIES which i loveeee to being ADDICTED with eachother like yes i love that. him going to WAR FOR HER AND ending it by CREATING A TRUCE FOR HERRR is genuinely a real man. not only that but he started buying everything emerald green like her eyes, was extremelyyy patient with her, learned arabic for her grandma, basically took in enzo as their own child and so much moreee like is this too much to ask for.. i also love how adrik was shown as a clean freak and a quiet man at the beginning but at the end he was SUCHHH a big freak for her and was so sassy. he would also be letting her fight her own battles but was also always right behind her which was so attractive. god this man is genuinely so fine and they're just such a huge power couple. i would love an adrik in my life thank u.

4.9 ⭐️ Obsessed obsessed obsessed. I need Adrik and Celina like I need air. This was so incredibly angsty with the most insane amount of push and pull. I adore Celina’s feisty personality, she was so independent and a genuine badass. I love a take no shit fmc when it’s done right. Do not even get me started on Adrik, he genuinely couldn’t even handle human touch or emotion before she came into his life. I love how she genuinely wiggled her way into his brain and vise versa until they physically couldn’t stay away. This book is the definition of actual enemies to lovers and it made me remember how much it can build real tension and chemistry. The amount of time it took for them to even remotely start to admit feelings for one another was insane, there was so much miscommunication here but I loved it. Eventually I was like ok let’s stop with this toxic cycle (even though you couldn’t pry this book from me) and that’s the only reason this isn’t 5 stars.

Pretty much everything about this was bingable perfection, everytime there was a jealousy scene, or he would call her my wife I was on the verge of passing out. I adored how much depth each of these characters have and I never wanted it to end. This was mafia done in the best way, not too over complicated but interesting and cohesive. Runaway is still #1 but I’m depressed that this series is over, easily the best mafia books ever - tied with duplicity - and hopefully the spin off book gives me half of the seratonin I got from this series.

Guys I love this so much. I love adrik more than Nico Blaine. This is enemies to lovers, real enemies btw, he has ocd hates touch and is lowkey mean. She’s even ruder LOOL she stays a bitch the whole story and I love it. He’s more obsessed with her which I love. I ate up every bit of this book and I’m itching to re read it.
