Every day, we move through life without much thought. Some mow their lawns while others grill dinner in the back yard, watching their children play and paying little attention to our open homes. At any time, someone could just walk in, hide, and wait. Then every night, we lock our doors to help us sleep–not knowing the nightmare is already inside. For a rural town in Alabama, the nightmare was all too real. When an infamous tragedy hits the community, a traumatized boy is placed in a mental facility. Years later, after a fire in the facility leaves a high death toll and bodies turned to ash, strange events happen. Families are being chosen. Some murdered while others disappear.Police race to stop the horror. If they can't by the time homes are locked for the night, it will be too late.
I also know the author of this book. I bought it based on that fact. I did enjoy the book. It was a fast read and I liked the twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. I would recommend it.
This is a short story, full of dark psychological action. Originally picked it up because I know the author, but kept reading because I really enjoyed the story! I would love to see this become a short story series!! Quick, easy read! Would recommend!!
