A little predictable, because I figured out who the antagonist was pretty early on, yet still a great story and a page turner. Some minor continuity issues (they're in one room starting to fool around, but then she's putting her hands on a piece of furnitue that's in another room with no mention of how they got there); But honestly, it doesn't detract from the story.

I loved this story. Lots of intrigue, betrayal, kidnapping and spice. Altough neither wanted this arranged marriage, they both start to fall pretty quickly. Loved both characters. The MMC, Alessandro, is son and heir to Don De Luca, one of three Don's in the N.Y famiglias. Alessandro suffered a trauma from his youth and became a bad a$$ in the famiglia as a result; somone people fear. He lets no one get close except his long time friend and bodyguard. The MFC, Evelyn, is youngest daughter to Don Rossi. While her sister has always been praised, part of the famiglia and kept in the loop, Evelyn has always been criticized, left out, never told anything. She tries hard to please and do what's she's told, to earn her place; but even so, she feels unseen, fogotten by her own family, never enough...an outsider.

But Alessandro sees her and things are going to change....as soon as he can figure out who's been attacking them, trying to kill him and his new wife. Definitely worth the read....4.5 stars

The Thin Line Between Fake and Real -
Even though Evelyn was blindsided with her arranged marriage, she agreed to go ahead for the sake of the family, as she decided to use it as an opportunity to get the family to realise she had more to offer. Alessandro also only agreed to the marriage for the benefit of the family, but he soon realised after spending copious nights heating up the sheets with Evelyn, that his feelings towards her were changing. Unfortunately, their relationship hit a snag and chaos ensued when Alessandro suffered a betrayal from someone he never expected.

Luckily, Alessandro was able to resolve the situation with the help of his family, which gave him the courage to declare his true feelings for Evelyn, so they could get back on track towards a forever, especially as their lives were about to change. This was another book from Ajme Williams, that I really enjoyed reading and in my opinion will definitely be a hit. It had so many twists and turns, that had me on the edge of my seat and eagerly turning the pages to find out who the bogeyman was and whether they got there happily ever after. It was a wonderful read, that deserves to be on your TBR list.

Part of the Mafia Mysteries series so you might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Alessandro and Evelyn both come from mafia family rivals, both agreeing to get married for peace, neither of them can really stand each other or so they have been told or taught through their families. Now they are living together in the same house under the pretense of hating one another but what neither of them ever thought they would ever see each other in a different way outside of hate. Alessandro is sexy as all get out who has always had an eye on his rival’s daughter the moment, she becomes his under false pretense but the more time he spends with her the more she gets under his skin in a good way. Evelyn has been told to hate him but the more she is with and around him she realizes he isn’t the monster he was made out to because he shows her another side but will he keep her safe, protected, will they be honest about their feelings for one another, will their joining be a problem, and where are they headed since things started out not so real?

Absolutely loved this story. It’s a quick little read that’s so sweet with twist and turns. The plot is good, the steamy scenes are great, and the characters are a range of serious to funny.

This was my first book by Ajme Williams and I can't wait to read more! Even though this was a mafia story, I enjoyed how Evelyn and Alessandro respected one another right away. I also loved that Evelyn wasn't a meek, doormat mfc. This seemed like a really quick read because the writing and story held your attention. I do wish the basement scenes used more of the items available!

Evelyn Rossi is the twenty-five year old mafia princess of Don Matteo Rossi of the Italian Rossi Familia. Don Rossi and Don De Luca has decided to form an alliance by marrying Alessandro and Evelyn. Alessandro is against the union but he's all about family and loyalty. Alessandro is a lawyer and basically a fixer for whatever problems you need whether it's illegal or legal he's the man to make the problem go away. Alessandro is the heir of the De Luca empire whenever his father Don Sandro De Luca steps down. This arranged marriage is supposed to be a treaty between the two rival family as well as a temporary arrangement until the situation is gone. It is even further necessary after Don De Luca suffered an heart attack which weaken the De Luca family. Evelyn was mad to hear that she was getting married and no one asked her. She was even more upset after visiting her sister, Shania in prison who's husband Peter ran off and leave to take the blame. Shania is in prison and yet she still knows what's going on in the family and the treaty and yet she doesn't know about it. Her family always leaves her out of everything and doesn't let her in even when it involves her life and they wants her to marry their enemy.
Alessandro wasn't for the treaty either but he still went along for the loyalty of his father, to his Family is the only reason why he's going along with the nonsense. And he definitely didn't like how Rossi didn't tell Evelyn about the setup was a stupid idea and it's a wasting time. The marriage anchors the alliance between their families, he tells her. Alessandro is ruthless, cold-hearted, dangerous, calculated, and monster. He's known as The Howard Beach Butcher and you don't want to end up on his radar. The two got married after Alessandro explain the situation to Evelyn. They were attracted to each other but the relationship was tumultuous in the beginning until he had one taste when he saw how the acclimate to her role as Mrs. De Luca at the hospital when his father had his heart attack and how she was able to calm his father down when he was irate as well as getting his nurse Lara to agree to Alessandro terms as a private nurse. He had one taste and was hook but maintained his control of not having sex with his new wife. But he had blown Evelyn with his tongue so much that she was willing to agree to anything he said for him to finish what they started in his playroom. Alessandro was a man with very dark taste and kinks and he has awaken Evelyn dark side. In the beginning after they had gotten married Evelyn had been railing against the marriage and Alessandro had promised to give her an annulment after everything had calm down with the two families and the sabotage that's taking place against their territories. When Evelyn gets anxious she bakes. Alessandro and his best friend and bodyguard Lorenzo was not use to a home cook meal until Evelyn came there. Lorenzo loved that about her.
The more time that they spend together and the more sex that they have Evelyn has had change of heart and doesn't want to end her marriage. She vowed to do whatever it takes to stay with Alessandro. Alessandro treats her like a person. He talks to her and listen to her ideas. Alessandro is falling in love with her. But after having a bad day he was mean to her and didn't want her to touch him. She was taken aback because they had just had a wonderful time the previous night. She was complaining to her best friend Anita about it and told her about the annulment that Alessandro had promised her. He felt bad about how he had treated her and decided to go and apologized but overheard her said annulment to Anita. This made him mad because he was in love with her and thinks that she was planning to leave him. Alessandro then tells her to pack all her stuff because he was taking her back home. He was hurt because he was going to give her his mom's engagement and wedding rings that his dad had given him the night before. But after hearing her saying annulment he knew that she didn't want him. However, if he had stick around long enough for the end of the conversation he would know that she wanted to be with him.
Evelyn was devastated but he dad was elated with the news because he wanted someone better for his daughter and tried for his daughter and told Alessandro about her ex Johnny. But when her mother found out about his feelings for Evelyn and saw the rings, she threatened her husband to fix it because her daughter was crying and broken hearted. They were both miserable and missing each other and Evelyn decided to go back home to her husband and fix her marriage. But Alessandro had sex with her and sent her home because he thought that she would be safer at home and away from him since someone has been trying to kill him. Evelyn life had been in danger multiple times since she became Mrs. De Luca with being shot at, running off the road and getting kidnapped. There's someone out there moving against the Rossi and the De Luca family and making it looks like it was Don Montegna. Alessandro was tortured badly to the inch of his life when he was eighteen years old by Ellis a.k.a. Gramercy an assassin who was hired by someone to end his life. Alessandro fought his way out slashing his attacker throat. Alessandro lost his mom at a early age to a car bomb at there home which was meant for Don Sandro her husband.
Uncle Oscar Baldoni a.k.a. Oz blamed Alessandro for killing his sister when he was ten years old. Even though the killer Gramercy messed up. He was told to kill Sandro to stop him from taking over La Familia. The old guard, they ordered the hit on Rosalie, Alessandro's mom. Sandro knew that it was them who had ordered the hit that killed his wife. He was going to take them out and that's why he had sent Alessandro to go and live with his uncle Oz, a rat unbeknowing to him that he was a traitor. Oz wanted revenge for the death of his sister plus he wanted to become the Don for the last twenty-five years, and over the years he had partnered with Gramercy who did a lot of jobs for him as the hands of God. Oz was hitting both families businesses and even hire shooters to hit the Rossi and Alessandro and Evelyn when they came to family dinner at his house, and continuously tried to kill Alessandro making him believe that it was two danger for Evelyn to be around him.
He even buy guns to sell which would dip into the Bratva's territory and subsequently causing a war between the two. He did all this and blamed it on Don Montegna. When Evelyn was kidnapped by Gramercy and Don De Luca heard to it was Oz his Consigliere he was livid and decided to come out of his hiatus to hunt him down and that it was his fault why his wife was killed for hiring Gramercy. Sandro and Matteo team up to take down Oz and his men. Alessandro left his dad to handle it so that he could go home and fix his marriage with his wife. He was happy that he was going to be a dad and this was all thanks to uncle Oz for running her and Henry off the road and crashing into the brick divider. Evelyn is calm to his rage, and being with Alessandro has helped her find herself and her path which is to own her own business as a chef. A beautiful story.

This book did not do it for me. The storyline was all over the place, as were the characters, and over all writing. I had to push myself to finish it. Evelyn's parents are assholes for the majority of the book using their daughter for their own purposes, then all of a sudden they care about her and her mother is mad at her father for marrying her off. The mess with her sister and brother-in-law was so poorly explained. Spice was decent but I did not get any chemistry off of the main characters.

To gain more power and protection over the threats on the two families, Alessandro & Evelyn, (who are mafia rivals) agree to get married. While living in the same house they begin to develop feelings for each other and every time there is a steamy scene it makes that connection even stronger.

I felt like his was a light mafia read. I was expecting Alessandro to be OTT dominant and protective but I felt he didn't really take charge the way someone like that would. For example, there was a time when Emily was almost really hurt but when he found out about it she said to leave it alone and he did? 🤔 (Maybe I'm just used to the darker books I read). I won't say he wasn't dominant in some areas but it bordered him being more of a beta at times.

Also, there were plenty of spicy scenes which I was all there for but I felt that on occasion the descriptions were too short. For example, things just start to get heated and then within one or two sentences she is already over the edge. Luckily, the scenes don't usually end there but it sometimes caused a slight disconnect for me between the MCs. With that being said, I still did sense the chemistry between Alessandro and Evelyn and was able to feel the inner battle they struggled with ➝ between understanding that the marriage was fake and knowing that their feelings were real.

I liked that the book was filled with mystery throughout, it kept me in suspense as to who was attacking the family. There were a few twists in there that I didn't guess right away and it made me want to keep reading to find out.

Tangled Loyalites is the 1st book in the Mafia Mysteries series and follows Alessandro De Luca and Evelyn Rossi.
Evelyn is the youngest daughter of mafia boss Matteo Rossi. She might be in her twenties but her family treats her like a child which infuriates her especially when she has no warning when she is forced into an instant arranged marriage. Alessandro is next in line to takeover from his father and run their empire. While they are from different mafia families their families are going through some major difficulties to include other families trying to move in on their territories. So he is pushed into an arranged marriage that neither one expected or wanted.
Their story will take you on a wild ride of danger, murder, betrayal, secrecy and suspense mixed in with sizzling hot chemistry, unwavering loyalty and determination. I must say I loved that Evelyn had a backbone and refused to be pushed aside. Alessandro was brutal yet not with her as she eased his demons. Together they were a force to be reckoned with.

I can't wait to read the next book Savaged Devotion.

Alessandro and Evelyn...my oh my! These two were definitely meant for each other. Alessandro is the heir to the De Luca family and Evelyn is the princess of the Rossi family. When a tragedy hits La Familia, it is up to these two to save it from being destroyed. Their arranged marriage which is supposed to be a treaty and also a temporary arrangement tends to show that maybe the most unexpected situations can lead to a lot more. Quickly the two start to care and love each other and the families that the other is apart of-Alessandro's way is by protecting and supporting her and Evelyn's way is by showing him love and cooking & feeding him and Lorenzo. They not only love and care for each other but also help each other grow. Alessandro while having a notorious reputation, he learns that a reputation does not mean he has to remain that way. Evelyn learns that one can always carve their own path at any time. As their story continues, there are twists and turns along the way.

This story not only kept me wanting more but also kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read more from the author.

This is the 1st story in the Mafia Mysteries series that gives us and Alessandro and Evelyn’s arraigned marriage through the alliance for strength to those out to cause havoc on their lives. Evelyn is the youngest who’s never told of her marriage until she’s brought to the church to Alessandro trying to give her some respect when he’s not happy with an unwilling bride. Joining forces will make them stronger against the 3rd family looking to take over. It’s beautiful to see how Alessandro is impressed and taken with his new bride to giving her pleasure and support along with a punishment when earned. Being feared due to his past he’s become brutal with dealing in Mafia business especially when one attack after another occurs on both families doubt starts to set in as to who is really capable of causing the attacks. It’s great to see how both families all come together to find the devious men responsible from their past and present giving Alessandro and Evelyn a chance at a future they have discovered making them whole…Family and Love! "Tangled Loyalties" is the first book in the Mafia Mysteries series. It's a full-length standalone romance novel with a spicy storyline. There is no cheating or cliffhanger, and it guarantees a happily-ever-after. From the very first page, the captivating plotline hooks readers with its surprising twists and turns and elements of mystery, adventure, and suspense. The complex characters and brilliantly written story will keep you on the edge of your seat, eagerly turning the pages. With its fast pace and dark, twisted atmosphere, this book is deliciously addicting and impossible to put down. Alessandro and Evelyn's story is told from alternating perspectives, allowing readers to fully absorb their journey.

This arranged marriage is meant to serve as a treaty between two rival families as a temporary solution until the situation improves. It became even more crucial after Don De Luca suffered a heart attack, which weakened the De Luca family. Evelyn was furious to learn that she was being forced into marriage without being consulted. Her anger escalated after visiting her sister, Shania, in prison. Shania's husband, Peter, abandoned her and allowed her to take the blame.

I love this start to this series.

This book features strong lead characters with Alessandro and Evelyn, however I expected more from the characters for some reason. The author narrates the story from dual perspectives, providing insight into both characters' thoughts and emotions, while also exposing us to how their relationship develops over time.

The hot and steamy romance gives off 50 shades energy and I found myself skipping through those scenes because of the familiarity. Overall an entertaining story, but lots of similarities to 50 shades which made me feel like I wasn't reading something very original. I was also a bit skeptical when I read the "get in the car Evelyn" line because it's basically a line from Good Girls but just replacing Elizabeth with Evelyn, again not very original.

A bit more originality in the story line would have resulted in me rating this book higher. It wasn't a page turner for me personally as previous books by the author.

Tangled Loyalites is Book 1 in the Mafia Mysteries series. It's a steamy, OTT, enemies-to-lovers, fake marriage turned real, age-gap, secret pregnancy, girl gets her mafia man romance. Evelyn Rossi is the youngest daughter of the Rossi Mafia family. Alessandro is next in line to be the leader of the De Luca Mafia family. The families are rivals. The two are forced into an arranged marriage to join the families due to other mafia threats. Both have been raised to hate the other, but as they spend time together, real feelings begin to grow. But who is targeting these families? Will Alessandro keep her safe? Who can they trust? And when he is betrayed by another, will he walk away or fight for Evelyn and his baby? The couple had decent chemistry. There is some kink and a bit of darkness, but don't consider it a dark romance. After quite the roller-coaster of angst and drama, our couple does get their HEA. This was an enjoyable, fast-paced read.

Wow, I really loved reading this book, I was hooked from the start. The story was mesmerising and the characters were sensational. The story was about Alessandro De Luca and Evelyn Rossi, their arranged marriage for an alliance, Evelyn was shocked not knowing what was happening, she was angry and not wanting to marry, she was told it didn't have to be for long they just needed to join forces for strength against the people trying to get rid of them, to take over their areas. Alessandro was a real gentleman he tried to put Evelyn at ease, she started cooking he liked that, they started getting to know each other and started falling in love to quickly. As soon as Alessandro showed her what to do if someone breaks in, then he changed his mind and sent her back home to her family not knowing who to trust.

While this is an arranged marriage, the two main characters really never have the animosity you typically see with unwilling participants. Overall, I really enjoyed this. I was disappointed that I figured out the one behind the problems with no effort, but the characters could not. If I had a negative, it was that they seemed to jump into kink very quickly, and it didn't really feel organic, at least to me. I wouldn't call it a secret pregnancy since she doesn't have a chance decide not to tell him.

What I felt most disappointed by is the muscle behind the big-bad. He hates the main character for "killing his mother" but hires the guy who actually killed her to do his dirty work?
That seemed a little too convenient.

Family

When dealing with family you have to always try to be aware of all surroundings, family can turn out to be the most vicious enemy and that's proven within this book. Pretty good book. Alessandro and Evelyn are a cute couple. I like the dynamic between Alessandro and Evelyn. Evelyn wants to take a more active role in the family business, but her family doesn't think she is ready. Alessandro doesn't see a problem with it. He knows she's smart and capable. But he doesn't want her in the line of fire. He trys to protect her but goes about it the wrong way. Sometimes I'd like to shake him to get him on the right track. Anyways, they fall in love, which is not what either wanted. I enjoyed the way Lorenzo and Alessandro interacted. They were funny, the way best friends should be. Lorenzo needs his own Evelyn. Someone who could keep him on his toes.

This book is concentrated around the Mafioso of New York. The men keep the women out of their dealings but they do use the women to make advantageous marriages to strengthen their families.
Alessandro and his father have brokered a marriage for Evelyn, of a rival mafia family, to marry but they don't tell her about it. Her bodyguard delivers her to the church where, without being told what's happening, Evelyn is married to Alessandro to bring the two families together for a united front to the other mafia families.

I enjoyed this book it's the first of two whcih make up the Mafia Mysteries Series. It introduces us to Alessandro and Evelyn an unlikely couple from rival families who are so good for each other.

The story is well-written, flows well and features murder, betrayal, secrecy, action, drama and suspense. I loved the palpable sizzling hot chemistry and how Alessandro and Evelyn adapted to each other. The characters are well-drawn and easy to relate to but that's all I'm going to say, there will be no spoilers from me, except I can’t wait to see what the next book brings us

This story was hot!

This story had alot of thrills,double crosses! Poor Elyne, always kept in the dark,she feels like no one trust her and she doesn't find out she has to get married until she walks in the church and she isn't happy.Alessandro isn't happy either but soon makes the best of it and she does too.Lots shooting ,gore,mistrust and darkness but Elyne and Alessandro fine happiness with each other,they talk,communicate. GIVE THIS STORY A READ YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED,!
