Too Proud to Ride a Cow

Rate this book
“Too Proud to Ride a Cow”, is author/adventurer Bernie Harberts' account of traveling across America with a mule.
After spending almost 5 years sailing alone around the world, Bernie Harberts arrived home a prisoner of the very independence he’d worked so hard to cultivate.
Harberts decided it was time to let people back in his life.
Armed with simple curiosity and an uncooperative mule, he discovered that most Americans felt the same way he did – that they were adrift in a sea of isolation. Join Bernie Harberts as he crosses the everyday divide between isolation and companionship on an American bridge of rat ranchers, lady poachers and ordinary citizens.

Bernie is an interesting person. After spending almost five years sailing around the world alone, he embarked on a land voyage across America by mule. On his trip he not only developed a meaningful relationship with his occasionally recalcitrant mule, Woody, but he recovered his ability to connect with the the (eclectic) people he met on his journey.

Man rides mule aross the US.

Good light read, not too heavy on philosophy.
