Born in London, I've been crafting stories since I was eight—everything from horror and fantasy to thrillers, romance, and even music-inspired tales. I see inspiration in everything: a moment, a memory, a conversation, even silence. Life, in all its forms, fuels my writing.
My debut novel Disquiet is the first in a gripping trilogy that began as a script. After the loss of my grandad, I revisited the story with fresh eyes and a heavy heart, pouring everything into the page. What started as a standalone evolved into a deeply personal trilogy.
I’m passionate about connecting with readers and hearing how they interpret my work—and how they connect with the stories of others too. To me, storytelling is a shared experience, and every perspective matters.
Massive dog lover. Eternal daydreamer. Always writing.
Alfie has been successful in his business career and has made many appearances on television and is well known in the public sphere. Unfortunately, his trust towards those who are closest to him start to fade, and he finds himself physically protecting his family members from intruders, who aren’t just burglars. Intense chapters that keep you guessing. Great first book in the series. Yes there is a sequel to Alfie’s struggles , and the game is not over yet. Great read. Well done Georgie Reed.
My first book by this author and I cannot wait to read more if this book is anything to go by. I read this on KU but will be buying the book so I can read it again and again when the mood takes me.
Disquiet by Georgie Reed gets it hooks into you from the start. This is definitely a page-turner that captivates you from the very first page. The story is great and starts straight away. No chapters upon chapters of build up wondering what it’s about. The anticipation of what will happen next keeps you reading page after page. The tension running through it builds and builds, it’s written perfectly.
When I got to the end of a chapter I couldn’t put it down for the anticipation of what happens next. With many secrets lurking underneath the surface this story sets quite an uneasy atmosphere and with every easy tension the intensity builds and builds.
The character development is a rollercoaster ride in itself! The main character Alfie Sayers has plenty of demons to battle from his past and the way it’s written is too relatable at times. The way Alfie’s anxieties are written are spot on. I can’t wait for the next book! Is there a next book? I need it now 😂
For all you thriller lovers you need to read this beautifully written story. I can guarantee it won’t disappoint! It is an intensive read and well worth it. The revelations through this story had me thinking ‘WTF?’.

I can’t say I (personally) have ever read a book like this one. What a ride!! The action starts within the first couple of chapters and does not let up the entire time. If you are a slasher fan, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU! Think WWE Royal Rumble meets Scream meets I know What You Did Last Summer. A “who will survive the night?” piece with “who’s behind those masks??!!” sprinkled on top. I fell in love with a couple of the characters which is always something I’m looking for as a reader. The title of the book was used a few times throughout the book which makes my heart happy for some weird reason. My only gripe: there was some repetition that I couldn’t un-notice once I noticed it. Other than that, I applaud this author on a fantastic action packed slasher thriller!
This is my first horror/thriller book I've read and I'm so happy that the author Georgie reached out and suggested his book. I was going to put it on the back burner and read my other books on my tbr first, but I thought what the heck! Why not jump off the deep end of my comfort zone and try this out. Well I can tell you right now, if you like the Scream movies, you'll love this! It keeps you hooked with every page. I will admit I neglected a little too much housework because I couldn't put the book down! It's terrifying and gory, but if that's something your stomach can handle, then I'd highly recommend!😊 Also the author is quite a delight to talk to while reading his book!
From the very first page, I knew this was going to be an interesting story. It was a very quick, easy and interesting story! If you like thrillers, then you’ll definitely enjoy this book. Alfie has people around him that start ending up being dead. He starts to receive anonymous notes with photos and the story escalates from there. This story was a little bit longer than it needed to be, but it was still a good story that kept you wanting to know what was going to happen next!
Every chapter pulls you into the story, it’s an emotional rollercoaster where the stakes are high and you feel the MC feelings, and they are well described. The twists are shocking the ending leaves you wanting more.
Wow this book was a page turner had me hooked from the start really enjoyed the story. This book had me guessing right to the very end. Looking forward to the second book.
Highly recommend this book, it kept me on the edge of my seat while I was reading. This book is definitely worth it to buy and have in your collection.
Has Alfie’s past come back to haunt him? A secret that he won’t tell anyone or is it karma catching up with him? A gripping page turner from beginning to end I can’t praise this book more it was a fantastic read a gripping page turner #KindleUnlimited
Here's my review of Disquiet by Georgie Reed, spoiler free! Disquiet is an uneasy, anxiety driven, intense murder mystery/thriller/action book, I don't really know how to describe it! If this is Reed's first book, I absolutely cannot wait for his second. I ended up rating it 4 stars, and this is a rating that is fully deserved.
Firstly, I don't think I've ever actually read a book like this in my life. It feels like you're watching a movie and I could perfectly see the movie playing out in my brain. It is perfect, perfect reading for anybody who loves any of the classic slasher movies like Scream or Halloween. Literally has your brain cogs whirring the whole time.
Georgie Reed's debut novel follows an up and coming businessman Alfie Sayers as he rides the waves of success and tragedy surrounding him. He is reliving dark secrets from his past that he'd thought were buried, and he fighting unknown enemies whilst protecting his family. We start off straight into chapter one where we find out that Alfie's closest friend Teddy has had his mother and girlfriend brutally murdered in his home, and the story continues from there.
Disquiet gets you hooked immediately from the first page, it dives straight into the drama, no messing around. Every chapter leaves you questioning a secret, or the way somebody is acting. This creates a really unsettling feeling and a lot of anticipation which you feel through the whole read.
Disquiet has a great and unputdownable storyline, and fantastic characters which you both love and loathe. The only faults that I did find within this read were that a few of the words used were repeated quite a few times, but I think this is completely normal for a debut book. Aside from that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Reed has really proven that he is capable of creating a truly intense and anxiety driven atmosphere, and I cannot wait for the second part of Alfie's story.
Sometimes, a book sneaks up on you and refuses to let go—Disquiet by Georgie Reed is exactly that kind of story. Recommended by a friend, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from the first chapter, it became clear: Reed knows exactly how to weave suspense, unease, and raw emotional intensity into a narrative that lingers long after the final page. For a debut novel, Disquiet is astonishingly refined, balancing psychological tension with deep human truths. The story unfolds like a slow-burning mystery, peeling back layers of grief, transformation, and the unsettling quiet between moments of chaos. The prose is sharp, atmospheric, and filled with subtle unease, making each scene pulse with meaning. What truly sets it apart is Reed’s ability to craft characters who feel painfully real—flawed, vulnerable, and haunted by choices they can’t escape. There’s a distinct cinematic quality to the storytelling, as if the pages themselves are stitched together like frames from a perfectly executed thriller. One of the most intense elements of Disquiet is how repetitive anxiety is woven into the narrative, making every moment feel genuine and unsettlingly authentic. The way Reed captures the relentless cycle of intrusive thoughts and emotional weight is staggering—it doesn’t just depict anxiety, it immerses you in it. The tension builds like waves crashing over and over, making the psychological struggle feel tangible, raw, and painfully relatable. It felt incredible reading a fiction story that captured something so intensely, bringing mental strain to life in a way that is rarely this immersive and brutally honest. Reed’s first novel proves that he’s a writer to watch—I can’t wait to see what comes next
I saw a review on Tik Tok for this and thought let’s give it ago. I was gripped instantly it jumps right in and gives a nice introduction to the characters. Every chapter has something happen. If it’s not something triggering the MC Alfie’s anxiety its something that makes you question what the hell is going on. There’s a chapter that really overloads you with information and character introductions but so much happens within that chapter it keeps you hooked to find out what’s happening. It’s so fast paced and intense that while I’m trying to figure out who is targeting Alfie I’m also intensely hoping certain characters live. The final reveal and fight had me on tender hooks. Just when you think it’s over I’m left wanting more. This was an excellent read and unlike any book I’ve ever read.
Alfie Sayers is an intense, deeply layered character, and Reed has masterfully crafted a fragile yet captivating protagonist. From the first page, it's clear that his journey is far from over. While I don’t usually enjoy continuations, this one is executed so well that the final moments linger in your mind long after you finish reading. The action is relentless—fast-paced and repetitive in a way that keeps the tension high. Each twist left me wondering whether Alfie would prevail or if the villains would gain the upper hand. The emotional depth is striking, with every attack making the stakes feel even more unbearable. A gripping read with a thrilling pace and an unforgettable story. Reed has truly delivered with this book.
If you are looking for a thriller mystery book that will keep you guessing this book is for you. Disquiet is so well done in that it makes you doubt and question everyone at some point throughout the book. There are so many descriptive quotes throughout Disquiet which really added a layer and depth to the reading experience. I had such a great time reading Disquiet and wrote loads of notes and thoughts throughout. It was a difficult balancing act as I wanted to just sit and binge read it but I also didn’t want to finish it. I can’t wait for Book 2. I know I will be thinking about this book until I can be back in the story in Book 2.
This is my first book by this author and wow this is definitely a page turner which captivates you right from the beginning. The anticipation of what will happen next keeps you reading page after page. Then tension that is in this book is perfectly written and I cannot wait to read more books by this author. For those of you who love thrillers this one is for you I don’t think this will disappoint. I am shocked I never expected who was behind it all!
Wow oh wow - what a brilliant story! I’ve not read anything like it so it was a breath of fresh air. For those of you who aren’t fans of slow burns, then this is for you. It’s non-stop tension!
There are a lot of characters in this story, and I loved them all. Until I didn’t. Georgie did a splendid job of creating likeable and relatable characters, but then dropping little nuggets that lead you to questioning their innocence. I honestly couldn’t figure out who to trust!
The revelations towards the end of the book will blow your mind. You’ll come up with so many theories as the story progresses, but you won’t pick this twist. It’s crazy and brilliant!
Georgie is an incredibly talented storyteller. His ability to immerse you into the story - feel the fear and the panic and the paranoia - is impressive.
I highly recommend you add this to your TBR. It’s a 5⭐️ read and you will love it!!! I can’t wait to read more of Georgie’s work.
Georgie Reed's "Disquiet" totally hooked me right from the beginning! As Alfie, the MC, navigates through the highs of success and the lows of tragedy, he relives dark secrets from his past and fights to protect his loved ones from ruthless k!llęrs.
The story is packed with suspense and mystery, diving deep into the darkest parts of the human mind. Alfie’s journey into paranoia and confusion was so vivid; it made me feel every bit of his anxiety.
Each page had me flipping eagerly, with unexpected twists that kept me on my toes. Reed sure knows how to keep you guessing - I couldn't predict a thing!
Overall, "Disquiet" is a fantastic psychological thriller, showing off Reed's talent for creating an unsettling atmosphere and a complex, twisted plot. Eagerly awaiting his next one!
