Love it. Another perfect dose of LA Cottons addictive Romances.

Dayna’s returning home after college. All the things she put on pause are about to become real. Can she find the love in her hometown when so much heartache made her run away?

Aidan is keeping his head down for the summer. All the anger he’s kept bottling inside needs a break from his real life. Will a close friend of his ice hockey coach be the key to letting it fade away?

This was a cute story. It had its steamy moments but my heart was full of love for these two.

***4 "Little Miss Prude!!!" stars***

"He was so, so dangerous for a girl like me. For my fragile, weary heart."

I love this series even though it is still in its beginning...
But I know that Lianne is about to drive us crazy with these hockey hotshots from Lakeshore U and their girls!!!
I enjoyed very much Aiden and Dayna's story, even though i would love to have seen more of them...
"Ice burn" seemed like a novel into this new series... I really liked this story, but I was missing some things, like more development and less insta love... Still... I loved it!!!

Dayna is returning back to her hometown after four years hiding away...
Now, she is back, but she is not the girl that she used to be... Pain had laced her heart and it feels weird to be back into her childhood home...
The last thing Dayna needs is an arrongant hockey player to turn her life upside down when she has already a boyfriend!!!

Aiden is very angry... He's been exiled to a small town in nowhere because of the last stunt he pulled... A stunt that can ruin his future... Now, he has to hole up in his coach's house and to lay low for the rest of the summer...
Dayna is his coach's best friend and she is a girl that refuses to take shit from him and that fact is making him more intigued of her, even though she is the last thing he needs!!!

I liked very much how Aiden and Dayna were together...
I liked the animosity between them in the beginning, but things were moving a little bit fast for my taste...
Still, I liked seeing the bad boy of Lakeshore U fall and how hard he fell!!!
Dayna was the perfect girl for him... The only one who could tame his wild heart...
And Aiden brought old Dayna back and it was so wonderful witnessing their fall...

Honestly, I can not wait to read about the rest of the guys!!! I am already addicted to this beautiful world...
Noah scared me for a bit at the end, but I want desperately to see him falling too...
Also, I know that Carson doesn't belong in the hockey team as a player, but I would love to read his story one day...

⭒ Rating:  4 stars

Ice Burn is a previously published novella in the Reckless Summer Love anthology that has been revised and extended into a bigger intro novella for the Lakeshore U series.

I gotta admit the first time I read this, I was praying for Carson to be the hero. I was just really vibing with him and our heroine together. Their friendship is so special.

But my second time reading, I did like Aiden a little more and find him and Dayna to be a cute couple. We love it when the guy falls first, don’t we?! Yes, we do. I’m excited to see how these two are doing on future books.

Ice Burn is a quick and fun read. It’s perfect to learn a bit more about this universe and future storylines! You get introduced to two (hopefully) of the heroes in the series and I’m dying for both their books.

What a great series starter! LA Coton is one of my go-to for feel-good but emotion-filled sports romances, and I’m loving diving into her whole new hockey Lakeshore U World!

Aiden and Dayna are such a fun couple- their chemistry is so great, and they have all the banter. These two have a spark, but like always, LA Cotton gives them plenty of substance. Both have pasts and challenges their working through- family challenges or pain that have been bleeding into their being in ways neither has been ready or willing to fully confront. And while they might not seem the likeliest of couples at first, and not only because Dayna is already in a relationship and because Aiden knows how to JUST get under her skin. But given their shared hardships and ability to see beneath the surface, we see them not only formulate a strong connection, but we also see them help the other see the parts of themselves they are each struggling to confront.

Despite them each working through some stuff, the drama and angst was deliciously low- just a nice, focused, and sweet story that was a delightful worldly escape. It’s a quick, run, and sweet read- tons of chemistry, tons of heart, and a great world-building set up for the Lakeshore U books to come.

When LA Cotton announced she was coming out with a hockey series I was so so excited! I’ve been waiting for her to write hockey and she did not disappoint! Not shocking though because everything she writes is amazing 😍

This book is about Aiden and Dayna. You get a little glimpse of Aiden in bite the ice which is the prequel to the series about another player named Connor. (Yes go read that too😉)

Aiden is pretty much angry at the world, so when he meets Dayna you can’t wait to see if she’ll bring out his soft happy side. Things are rocky between them in the beginning which was great because I love seeing that development between two characters who clearly don’t want anything to do with each other.

I always relate to many of LA’s fmc’s and Dayna is another on that list. It was great to see her finally live in the moment <3

The connection these two ended up having melted my heart🥲 LA never fails at writing a brooding bad boy who ends up falling in love 🥰

If you love hockey romances, forced proximity and the grumpy sunshine trope, then you definitely need to read this 🫶🏻

I cannot wait for the rest of this series! Counting down the days till March when we get Noah’s book🤗

˚ ┊✦ this series just keeps surprising me somehow
I am loving this series don’t get me wrong I had good expectations of this one but honestly bit of a let down with how slow burn this series is and my favourite characters that they have little short stories like they honestly deserve more rather than it being short like why can’t they have more time to shine?
we needed more of that not being rushed into relationship there seemed to be a love triangle jealously going on when it came to Dayna friend.

˚ ┊ ✦ Dayna
I really liked Dayna she didn’t take no for an answer what she really wants from life even though she valued her parents opinions about her life she still wants to do her own thing and I admired that completly! After she comes back to her hometown after four years being away things have completly changed in her life she feels uncomfortable being back home wjth so many fond memories. This is where things get very complicated for her indeed

˚ ┊ ✦ Aiden
I felt bad for aiden here the way he has such a bad reputation too with his father being a con artist people will think he will automatically think he will follow his footsteps too😭 Aiden has so much to give literally I love how cocky he was especially towards Dayna 🤭 he does not take no for an answer being shy about it either he knows what he wants no matter the consequences he’s there for her 100% I just love that about him 😭

 ˚┊✦ Romance - Epilogue
I really loved the romance in this especially aiden being so cocky when it came to Dayna just putting himself out there doesn’t care at all that she has a boyfriend and don’t care at all about the consequences either 🤭 he was so cocky haha 😝
The way that Aiden cared so much deeply towards Dayna was so sweet 🥹 he was her number 1 supporter literally !

This one was definitely better than the short novella though I still wished it was longer ! But everything was in place and so heartwarming ! I cannot wait to continue on this series see how it all ends hopefully next week can finish this only have 3 more left to go! I do have to say though this one is definitely a hit and miss whether you love it or not enjoying the plot I guess it can be a bit of both really 😂😂 this one definitely deserves a 5 stars by far my favourite couple 🥹🥹

 ˚┊✦ Josh - (old boyfriend)
Ugh god he was so annoying the way he mistreated dayna after that breakup like seriously what a dick move the way that her parents was so welcoming too he pulled that move 😭😞 such an asshole no wonder why Dayna wanted to move on.

˚┊✦ Carson

I loved himmmm! The way he is there for Dayna throughout the good and bad struggle of her life he knows the situation with Josh is at rock bottom but always there for her he is such a green flag I really want a pov of his own have his own true love life come true 😭💋

This book started off with Dayna returning to her home in the summer with her boyfriend 🙃 (annoying and gaslighting weird man) but then enter AIDEN. This man was grumpy and I was so here for it, when he meets Dayna is where he gets intrigued because even though she finds him attractive, she doesn’t tolerate his attitude, which in this case I loved. Dayna’s current bf is the biggest gaslighter, this man cheated on her and yet it was Dayna’s fault??? Anyways, that happened and one thing led to another with Aiden, they fell in love with each other and it was bittersweet, not only did Dayna fall in love, she fell in love with the sport her brother left behind, hockey.

Overall, this was a cute story that wasn’t long which I liked because I happened to be in a reading slump. For that, this book will get 4.5 ⭐️

This was a real struggle to get through and I don't think I'll be picking up anything else from L.A. Cotton.

A 200+ page novella that took the most basic storyline, and made it worse.

Hockey romance books and series are my favorite. So when L.A. Cotton made the announcement that she was writing a hockey series i was already sold. She is one of my favorite authors and most of the time i finish her books in less than a week.

This story has also been in reckless summer love anthology. This book is an expended version of the same story.

Sometimes I feel like I am such an idiot.. keep in mind I almost never read the blurb…

so I started reading Ice Burn… and my mind went ‘we have read this before’ ‘error’… so it got me thinking woow Lianne wrote a story that i have dreamed about… and just then I realized i have read it in reckless summer love, and that she mentioned that this is an extended version 😂😂.

I really enjoyed all the new and extra stuff. It gave the book a bit more depth.

Dayna seems to be the typical innocent girl after her brothers death. She seems to be turned to herself. She has moved to boston to get a fresh start. She had been together with josh for 8 months when she moves back to Dupont beach for her internship.

Her brothers best friend Carson is the assistent coach for the lakers. He has the job this summer to keep Aiden Dumfries, bad broody boy inline. After an violent accident it is Carsons task to keep him out of trouble.

Aiden Dumfries is the son of a crook. He is broody and the badboy of the lakers. He doesn’t date and doesn’t get people get close to him. He is protective of his mom. When Aiden gets send to his assistant coach to spent his summer he never imagined to change.

When Aiden and Dayna get to know each other, no one turns out who they seemed to be.

'Sometimes it takes the right person to bring out the best in us'

Dayna gets to be back the girl she used to be before her brother died. Aiden is his best self when he is with Dayna.

I’m looking forward to see their relationship evolve in this series.

And don’t forget to watch the amazing book trailer for the lakers series on L.A. Cotton her account.

When the bad boy of Lakeside U hockey team needs an escape to get himself in line the last thing he expects is to be brought to his knees. Aiden’s life wasn’t an easy one living in the shadows of his awful father he finds it hard to trust others and be compared to him. The demons that haunt Aiden leaves him angry and when he meets Dayna, he finds himself intrigued by her when she sees there’s more to him than what others say. Dayna finally comes home after spending years away hiding from the pain her past left her with, so when she finds herself going through a breakup, trying to confront her pain the last thing she wants is the cocky playboy to come in her life, but their chemistry is off the charts. This story was a fun one that was full of emotions, steam, and so much more. The characters find a way in your heart and have a way of making you love each of them with the family and friendly bonds they create. I can’t wait for more from these guys.

La Cotton has introduced us into a new world with Lakeside U. Enter hockey bad boys and the girls that will bring them to their knees.

Meet Aiden Dumfries, Lakeshore U’s very own bad boy. After lots of mistakes and bad press, Aiden is exiled to a small town for the summer where he rubs Dayna Benson up the wrong way.

When sparks collide, Aiden and Dayna get together pretty quickly which I wasn’t a massive fan of. I don’t particularly like insta love and Aiden went from, I don’t do relationships to calling her his girlfriend pretty quickly. I would’ve liked to have seen more emotional depth to their relationship and their back backgrounds too with her brother and his dad.

That being said, I can’t wait to see what La Cotton brings us with this series because I adore her writing and her words and I already know Noah is going to fall hard in his book!

3.5⭐️ 1.5🌶️

This was a quick and enjoyable and really worked as a novella. Even though it had to be told there was still a decent job of making the connection between Dayna and Aiden believable.

What I didn’t care for was the drama with her boyfriend/ex boyfriend Josh, he was too one dimensional. Not did I care for the constant rhetoric of Aiden not hurting Dayna and constantly bringing up what a hard time she’s had, dealing with the death of her brother a few years prior. Um, what about her parents? They are very involved in this story and there is no constant sympathy for what they went through. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, not bad but a very typical/average college hockey romance. I would consider reading a full length book in the series.

I don’t even know where to begin.
This is the best way to start 2023 with the perfect mix of magic!
It’s just book one and I can already tell this series is gonna consume me.
This story is full of passion, chemistry, angst and more.
I couldn’t put it down for a second, it’s consuming.
It’s a rollercoaster of emotions all wrapped up in a hot hockey experience!
I won’t spoiler anything but I’ll tell you this: you should definitely prepare yourself to be ice burned!
I gave it absolutely 5 stars !
I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did!

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
dealing with grief after loss

Dayna is back in her hometown for the first time since suffering a loss, but it’s time. And Aiden, the bad boy of Lakeshore U’s hockey team, is hiding out there for the summer. He’s staying at his coach’s house, who happens to be her best friend. There’s a lot of little things going on here. Her boyfriend and best friend don’t know about each other. Aiden is constantly compared to his father, who is a criminal. Dayna goes from wanting to do long distance to wanting to put distance between them in a blink of an eye. And from the moment she met Aiden, she was just unnecessarily rude towards him. Aiden was meant to have the “screw you, I hate everyone” vibe. (And he did, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, while it lasted.) But Dayna’s attitude towards him beat him by a mile! And it wasn’t a good thing. I knew early on that I wouldn’t like her. And then when the switch went off in her, and suddenly Aiden was the perfect man? I just couldn’t enjoy it the way I was meant to. But I did enjoy her need to prove to him that he wasn’t the kind of guy the world thought he was, that he thought he was. And I really really liked the switch in him. His need to make her happy, his sudden interest in relationships. Things were getting more and more perfect as we neared 90%. And with how rocky the road was to get there, I didn’t trust it. But once we got there, and past it, I felt like something was missing. It felt unfinished. It definitely feels like a “happy for now”, rather than a “happily ever after”. And while I know that’s true for a lot of HEA endings, I shouldn’t know it.

Freckles: 41

My Favorite Quotes:
• “I need to know what it feels like to live in the moment.”
• “Play with fire, and you might end up burned.”
• “Eyes. I need to see your eyes.”
• “You do things to me.”
• “I want to see how good you look wearing my number.”
• “Don’t say it. Not when I can’t immediately bury myself inside you.”

7/10 Dirty Birdy
7/10 Sports Romance

Wow!! Let me just start off by saying I’m so thankful to have received an ARC copy of this book from L.A. Cotton. Now onto the review!

This book was the perfect quick read to get me right out of a bit of a reading slump I was in after getting sick! We start off with our main FMC Dayna returning home with her BF after escaping a family tragedy before she started college. It doesn’t take more than a day though for her BF to milk her happiness at being home though when he tells her small town life isn’t for him, and that maybe they should take some time apart. Couldn’t be worse timing on his part though, as Daynas best friend Carson just adopted a hockey star for the summer and Aiden is everyone’s favorite grumpy bad boy. And let me just tell you that sparks FLY almost immediately between these two. But as this was a quick read I won’t give anything else away to avoid spoilers! I will say though, I absolutely loved this story. I loved that while Dayna was strong willed, and absolutely ready to fight for herself and follow her dreams we were able to see her as vulnerable and showing how grief can hit you whenever, wherever with no reasoning behind it. I also loved that while Aiden portrayed the stone cold, no cares to give, hockey star bad boy we also get to see him in different states of vulnerability… at least when he was with Dayna. I just loved how they challenged each other as well as made each other better, while still understanding when they pushed to far and when to apologize!! Overall, this was just a beautiful story, that I would recommend for anyone looking for a spicy, forced proximity, Grumpy/Sunshine, found family, hockey romance. You simply can’t go wrong!

It's not a secret that I love books written by Ms. L.A. Cotton and I would love to see those books translated into my mother tongue - Polish. Once again this author is taking us on a ride with her sports romance set in Lakeshore, this time it will be ice hockey. I know this sport can be really popular in the USA.
Dayna is a girl that comes back home after a few years, and this is a defeat to her, especially when she's not someone she wanted to be during that time. Closed behind walls she had created herself, Dayna will try to live her life as much as he can. She's not looking for any relationship, but when she meets Aiden some sparks will fly! And as always nothing will be perfect - which is why we love books from this author!
Aiden, oh boy, I fell for him - he seemed like douche at first but while reading we get to know him and some details about where he's coming from! Being judged is his normal stance, so when no one thinks good of you - you will become what they want, right? His life is going by lots of women - one of them lasting more than a night! No one should be able to change that, but getting interested in a girl like Dayna was not in Aiden's plans, but... what to do when it happened?
I need more Lakers books - like RIGHT NOW, as once again I read a story from this author too fast, but there was no other way to read "Ice Burn" than in one sitting!

Ice Burn follows one of the Lakeshore U’s hockey players. Bad boy Aiden Dumfries. Who doesn’t date. Ever. He is a ladies man with lots of notches on his bedposts!

But then he meets Dayna whos just moved back from home from Boston. She is his coach’s best friend, whilst he is staying with Coach trying to save his future playing hockey after getting in a fight back home. She is off-limits, but theres a spark from the moment they meet.

“Bad ideas are the best kind.”

‘Aiden had that charm about him. The cocky bad boy that girls wanted to tame. But there was something wild in his gaze. Something I knew would never be conquered.’

I thought this was beautiful. Dayna has a heart of gold. Shes just lost. Being around Aiden made her come back to life. They were so good for each other! There is so much more to Aiden than he shows. Yes, hes cocky & arrogant but hes gentle & loving. Try and not fall in love with him! He opened up and let her in and she made him a better version of himself. It was cute, fast paced. Aiden has a filthy mouth😜 the banter was fun and I cant wait to read Noah’s story! The prequel to this - (Novella) Burn the Ice - Connor & Elles story, is available on KU now. They can both be read as standalone, but are mentioned in each others books. I enjoyed them both. (arc review)

Aiden is the hockey bad boy who can’t seem to stay out of trouble, which is why he is sent to spend some time living with one of his coaches. Dayna is back in her small hometown after leaving it four years ago. Which is how Aiden and Dayna end up crossing paths.

There is something between them from the moment they meet, however, Aiden doesn’t date or do relationships and Dayna is currently in a relationship. Though, the spend more and more time together and Dayna’s relationship status changes.

There is undeniable chemistry between these two. They bring out a different side to each other and it is something that is good for both of them. While their relationship itself does progress quickly it works for them and their story.

I am looking forward to returning to Lakeshore U and getting to know more of the hockey players.

If you’re looking for a small town, grumpy/sunshine, sports romance this is one to check out.

Danya moves back home after finishing up college for an internship. She has avoided home for several years because of the memories and heartache it beings up for her, but she is trying her best to cope and move on. She brings her boyfriend at the time with her, who at the same time is move about an hour or so away for his new job, and she quickly learns that maybe he isn’t the one for her.

Aiden is know as Lakeshore U’s bad boy hockey player. He’s recently got himself into some heat and his coach sends him to live with the assistant coach, Carson, for the summer. Carson happens to be super close with Danya and her family so they take Aiden in as well.

There is instant attraction and intrigue between Aiden and Danya. Neither of them are looking for each other or anything, but I think that’s when the best relationships appear. They are there for each other in more ways than one, when needed. They are so cute and fun to watch develop on the pages.

I can’t wait for more of this series and to get the guys back at school and see how the team/player and their stories will develop.

This book has me excited for the rest of the series! Aiden and Dayna are such a great pair! Aiden is struggling to get out from under his father’s criminal past and his bad boy reputations, while Dayna is dealing with a long distance boyfriend she doesn’t really want to be with. The two are forced together and form a friendship despite their differences! I loved when they finally gave into their feelings and realized the other was worth it. I only wished this book was longer! Can’t wait to meet the rest of the boys of Lakeshore U hockey!

Dayna has recently returned home after attending school in Boston. She now finds herself facing the painful memories of the past that drove her away as well as realizing that she and her boyfriend have very different visions for their future.

Aiden is trying to overcome the actions of his family which causes him to react in self-destructive ways. In order to maintain his place on the Lakeshore Hockey Unit he finds himself staying with Carson, his assistant coach who was also the best friend of Dayna’s brother.

Although Aiden didn’t make the best first impression on Dayna she realizes that his demeanor isn’t who he is while after everything Dayna has been through he shows her how to have fun again. At first glance they may seem like an unlikely match, but they understand each other and that’s what makes them so perfect for each other.

After graduating from college, Dayna is moving back home to Dupont Beach. She is excited to be with her family again and to start her internship at the local newspaper -her dream job. Aiden has been banished to Dupont Beach to keep him out of trouble for the summer. His hockey coach thought if he stayed with the assistant coach he would be on his best behavior. The assistant coach Aiden is staying with is Dayna's best friend so they are instantly acquainted and sparks are immediate. Too bad Dayna has a boyfriend that doesn't deserve her. Don't worry he doesn't last.

This was a fun, cute and quick read. I enjoyed Dayna and Aiden's banter early on, I loved how Aiden pushed her buttons, forcing her to see the truths she wasn't ready to. I read this book with a smile on my face the whole time. No real angst or conflict but a fun read. I really enjoyed the beginning to this new world.

Wow, what a great start into the new series! The prequel Bite the Ice (standalone) already made me want to read more, but this one tops it. Gimme moooore!
Dayna moves back home, after finishing up with college, to start working. Her late brothers best friend, Carson, is a hockey coach, and hosts one of the players for the summer.
Enter Aiden. Ice cold (pun intended lol) and a chip on his shoulder, but also very interested in Dayna. As she spends lots of time with Carson, she also spends lots of time with Aiden. And his walls begin to melt….
This book got me hooked from the first page, and I really loved all the characters! Can’t wait to read how Noah’s story works out. He’s next in the series!

Ice Burn By L.A. Cotton is the first in her new hockey romance series Lakeshore U. If you have read her prequel Bite The Ice then you will have already met the Laker players and got a glimpse of their personalities. This is a moving love story about Dayna Benson and Aidan Dumfries. She is all sunshine and smiles to his grumpy and cold demeanour. They both have emotional baggage that is pulling them down so can they help each other and be what they both need and deserve.

Dayna has returned home after four years at college, ready to start her journalism internship. Her life in the picturesque small town of Dupont Beach is complicated, full of memories and heartbreak. She surprises everyone by bringing a boyfriend home with her. Her best friend is Carson Walsh who is the assistant coach with the Lakers. For the last seven years they have been very close because of what they’d been through. He is home for the summer but didn’t expect to babysit Aiden.

Aiden Dumfries is the Lakeshore U’s hot headed centre and bad boy on the ice. He comes across as an arrogant, angry and bitter guy. He is the star player but a bit of an enigma because no one knows the real Aiden. Everyone has heard the stories and seen the headlines about his con artist dad and have tarred Aiden with the same brush. He is about to go into his final year and is hoping to go pro as hockey is his life and gives him a chance of proving himself. He takes all his anger out playing but occasionally he gets into trouble off the ice and that is why he finds himself sent to stay the summer with Coach Walsh.

Dayna is finding being back home very difficult especially when things begin to unravel with her boyfriend. Then she meets Aiden and feels a strange pull towards him. Their first meeting is tense especially as he gives her a real icy glare and is quite hostile towards her. Both are feeling lost, lonely and surviving the only way they know.

I laughed at how Aiden doesn’t know how to behave around her. He knows she is off-limits so doesn’t need Carson reminding him she is too good for him and out of his league. There is a real electricity between them and they have great conversations as they get to really know each other. I loved their banter, him calling her “Freckles” and her sarky comments to him. She is cross she reacts to him and how he makes her feel things she’s never felt before. It is fun how everyone seems to push the couple together. Dayna is a great believer of giving someone the benefit of the doubt and not believing all you read about a person but Aiden really pushes her buttons.

“You are not your father”.

The reason Aiden has been sent to Carson explains his attitude and we also learn how deeply his childhood has affected him. She is so confused when he is so supportive and understanding .
Will she see the good guy underneath his broody and grumpy exterior. Could he be who she deserves? Can he prove he is better than his dad? Epilogue sets up the next book about Noah.

I like the way L.A. Cotton writes and enjoy her books but every now and then she pulls an absolute cracker out the bag and this is one of those. There is just something about this couple that really caught my attention, I felt so invested in them that I couldn’t wait to see how their story turned out. If the rest of the series is like this then we are in for a treat.

This was a fab, easy read!

"It was just a little kiss, freckles. Don't get your panties in a twist."

Dayna Benson has returned to Dupont Beach with mixed feelings. She's been yearning to go home after four long years away, but memories haunt her return. Having her boyfriend of eight months, Josh, in tow also makes her face up to the fact that she's been hiding from everything that happened back home. Aiden Dumfries has basically been exiled to Dupont Beach. Dogged by his father's terrible reputation, he's the bad boy of college hockey and his future is on the line if he doesn't clean up his act. When Dayna and her boyfriend part ways, she's not looking to jump into anything new, and Aiden is definitely not boyfriend material. However, there's no denying the electricity in the air whenever they're in each other's vicinity.

"Hating the way he made me feel. The way my heart raced in my chest, wild and untamed. How my skin burned right where he touched me."

This story was a pretty quick read. I enjoyed Dayna and Aiden's characters. They had chemistry and spark. Aiden was a total player and kept everyone at arm's length. His anger issues were putting his future on the line. I loved how Dayna snuck under his skin and made him want more and be better. Dayna was still grieving the loss of her older brother but staying away from home meant she avoided everything and everybody she loved. Her relationship with Josh was like a Band-Aid over her emotional wounds. The author called this novel an 'introductory' one and I felt that it really was. It only took me about a couple of hours to read this and the storyline moved quickly. It was sexy, humorous, and a little angsty. We caught a glimpse of the character from the next book, which promises to be a doozy. Can't wait for it!

"Bad ideas are the best kind."

This was a great start to a new series for L A Cotton that was a cute and quick read. I really enjoyed her Rixon Raiders series and still have soft spot for those 3 couples. It is great to see her bring some of that style and drama to the world of hockey.

We start with Dayna Benson, who's great family friend Carson is an assistant coach of the hockey team, returning to her small hometown from college with her boyfriend (who was less then desirable) and returning to a world she kind of left behind. The relationship between Dayna and Carson is a truly brotherly love relationship and you feel the deep-rooted friendship that is there. I am curious if we will get more of Carson in other books or if he will have his own story to share.

Aiden Dumfries, the bad boy of the Lakeshore Hockey team gets sent to the same smalltown to get out of away from Lakeshore while some drama settles down while focusing on working out and getting in shape for the upcoming season. He has no time for relationships and likes to keep teammates and girls at a distance.

These two lost souls are each running from things in their past but find that maybe they need each other to finally heal, let it go and move on. The question is can they do that and change each other's mind about what the other thinks about them.

There are some great characters that you meet again later in the book as it was truly focus on these two and how they get from point A to point B but also trying to navigate what it might look like in their futures.

Once again some great spice and steam with Freckles and Hotshot.....love the nicknames for each other :)
I was blessed to get an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
