Praying with Augustine Baker: Acts and Affections from Holy Wisdom

Rate this book
Sancta Sophia, or Holy Wisdom: Directions for the Prayer of Contemplation collects material on prayer from several treatises by English Benedictine monk Augustine Baker. Its appendix, for which Baker penned a treasure trove of brief petitions, which he called "acts and affections," that invite contemplative prayer, is not included in all editions. By editing and formatting Baker's acts and affections for Kindle, Praying with Augustine Baker finally makes these original models for prayer accessible to readers who wish to put his guidance into practice.
