This book contains a valuable explanation of what the temple offers the world and the tremendous blessings that are available to patrons. It contains many teachings of modern and ancient prophets and is a valuable source of information. Anyone who wants a deeper knowledge of the Lord’s house should study this volume.
There were a lot of quotables in this book....probably none of those were from the authors themselves. I didn't anticipate this book being a compilation of quotes-maybe they didn't either-but there were only a couple pages in the entire book that didn't have at least one quote on them. It got very hard to read because there was no continuous flow, but the content made it worth reading. I am more excited than ever to go to the temple.
This was a pretty basic book on the Temple, but was really good at motivating one to "get their life in order" so as to live higher laws and be more in compliance with God's laws and natural law. It makes sense to live your life such that you are working with laws rather than against them. Incorporating truth into your life while dumping falsehoods is making you a better person by getting your life more "ordered", which is one of the things the Temple is designed to do.
I love hearing Brother Pinegar speak and reading this was a lot like listening to him -- lots of information coming at you fast. I thought the quotes and examples were helpful, not just for those looking forward to attending the temple for the first time, but especially for those who already have been going and want to increase spiritual experiences while there and improve communication with the Lord.
This book is pretty elementary and meant, for the most part, for those with limited knowledge of the temple. I also felt like they often used quotes and examples that weren't necessarily connected to the temple to provide enough detail within each chapter. However, it does have a great great compilation of temple quotes from the apostles and prophets.
