About the “गुजारिश” .... किससे है यह गुजारिश ,और इस गुजारिश की आख़िर जरुरत ही क्या पड़ी! यह गुजारिश है ,हर उस इंसान की खुदा से, ख़ुद से जो थका हारा शाम को घर आता है, तो इस उम्मीद के साथ आता है, कि कल की सुबह फिर से एक नए जोश के साथ आएगी।इस तरह उसके हालात कुछ भी हो वह अपनी उम्मीद को नाउम्मीदी में नहीं बदलने देता।लाख शिकवों - शिकायतों के बावजूद भी वह हर - रिश्तों को बख़ूबी निभाना जानता है,या प्रयास करता है।ख़्वाहिशें पूरी ना होनें पर मायूस होता जरुर है ,शायद रास्ते भी बदलता है, मगर उसके पूरे होनें की उम्मीद को छोड़ता नहीं है।अंततः ज़िंदगी के थपेड़ों से गुज़रता हुआ वह अख़िर- कार मान ही लेता है ,कि उसका एकाग्रचित्त मन और उसके कर्मों का चुनाव ही उसके जीवन की रूप रेखा तय करेंगी।ज़िंदगी के सफ़र के लिए खुदा के स

Manisha Sinha is professor at the University of Connecticut and the James L. and Shirley A. Draper Chair in American History. She was born in India and received her Ph.D from Columbia University where her dissertation was nominated for the Bancroft prize. In 2017, she was named one of Top Twenty Five Women in Higher Education by the magazine Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Sinha's research interests lie in United States history, especially the transnational histories of slavery and abolition and the history of the Civil War and Reconstruction.
