Sabine As the top medical expert on human-Mitran offspring, I’m excited to be sent to the alien planet to help deliver babies, but my shuttle goes down on Mitra and leaves me stranded. When a gorgeous warlord finds me, I think I’m rescued, but my hopes are dashed. We’re both trapped inside a mysterious forcefield with dangerous creatures and poisonous flora. Worse, Warlord Dakkan can’t stand me and I must put my life in his hands to survive.
Dakkan My dislike of Dr. Sabine Mecon isn’t personal—I just distrust her species’ advanced medical techniques. It’s only because the human females living in my Thrail demanded a human doctor that I invite Sabine to my domain. But now we’re trapped in a sort of contained habitat far from my Thrail with no communication with the outside world. Keeping this beautiful and headstrong female safe is my top priority, but soon I want to do much more than protect her. If our love has any chance to survive, we must learn who created this hidden place and escape before its many dangers consume us.
This is book 3 in the Mitran Warlord Protectors series, but these are meant to be read in any order and each are standalone stories. My books have no cheating or cliffhangers, and they always have consent and a HEA.
These two have an interesting philosophical difference. His people only believe in rudimentary healing,
“But there is a belief among our warriors that we deserve to suffer from injuries caused by poor judgment. It’s about the balance of things. I have made several bad decisions recently, so I don’t deserve to feel this…good.”
“I see.” She looked thoroughly unimpressed with me. “If it’s pain you want, I can inject you with a nerve irritant. It will have you writhing in agony for hours.”
She's a doctor so they have some friction about this in the beginning. I loved her response.
He comes to this conclusion later,
“On the other hand, I had trouble seeing the point of enduring pain when a remedy was available. Was there that much honor in suffering? I used to think so.”
Even though the context for this statement is about elderly people having pride for having endured so much in life, my personal experience has been more like his. Proving oneself physically is more of a young person's challenge. As health issues mount as we get older, it seems less sensible to just suffer for the sake of suffering.
Save the Babies! I loved this book because it was exciting and had characters that just sink in and grab you by the heartstrings. Dakkan is another of the Mitran Warlords, but his people don't like technology much. The human mates have demanded Earth's technology so with his permission, Earth sends Dr. Sabine to assist. After all, they need to keep the human females happy, and future generations are at stake. But Sabine's shuttle is diverted and disappears off the radar so Dakkan has to go investigate what happened. The adventure starts as soon as he finds her and it doesn't stop. There is a mystery to solve, old prejudices against modern medicine to over-come, and an insane attraction to try and fight! I loved it!!
This is book three of the series and I am glad it popped up in my feed to read. I like this author’s style and alien to human romances. It’s an easy and entertaining read so I will not give too much away. The Thrall is growing with hybrid babies and children. The human females want a human doctor for this Thrall because there is a large population of human females now. Their Warlord Dakkan lobbied and debated with the elders to make this happen. Now Dr. Sabine, from Earth, is on her way to the Thrall. Unfortunately her shuttle is pulled down by a force. Now the Warlord Dakkan has to rescue Dr. Sabine. Yes, there is quite the happy ending. Read On!
This story reminds me of my college days, when our research topic was our country's native healers, the traditionalists, in rural areas. I am happy to report that both practices are thriving and coexisting. And I get the gist at the end that the same goes for our MMC's Thrail.
The road to their "matehood" was not easy. They had to deal with the war inside them and overcome old beliefs while surviving the dangers in unknown territory. There were instances where doubt crept in that our MCs would not bond, but I guess that love, that "claiming," is stronger than their doubts.
I loved their happy ending. Our good doctor has found a good mate.
I love these Mitran Warrior books! Dakkan's Match is no exception. The characters are wonderfully crafted. The stories keep me glued to the page. The world building is exceptional. Ella Blake has hit the perfect balance between mystery, heart and romance. Dakkan and Sabine balance each other and are perfectly matched. The side characters are rich and real...I mean they're not just there to fill space..they fit. I'll tell ya..if it's Ella Blake I'm going to read it and I won't hesitate to recommend it. This is 5+ stars.
Sabine crashes on her way to the thrail she's signed up to doctor. And warlord Dakkan takes it upon himself to go find his missing doctor by himself in the deadzone no one has ever returned from. Stuck in hostile territory, they rely on each other, understand one another and find the chemistry between each other impossible to ignore. They are more determined than ever to figure out the mystery of this deadly wilderness and fight for a future they didn't know they wanted. Together.
This was such a fun read! I loved the sense of mystery and intrigue that surrounded the mysterious, dangerous jungle Sabine crashed into. I absolutely loved how Sabine and Dakkan came together and how they put trust into each other through their journey into the heart of the forest. I loved how magical and mystical the nursery was. Granted the background to the magical beings was sad, but I loved how kind and gentle they were in nature. Overall, this was a good read and a great addition to the series!
Liked the new spin on crash landing human on alien planet story. Did wish they were in the dome for longer with slower courtship. As well as her visiting other settlements with humans as part of agreement to help human women, and children. In a future series would like to see the others in it. With the hybrids helping them go home
Dakkan and Simone start off on the wrong foot. They are forced together in a weird twist. Then love blooms in a hidden forbidden place. I really like that Simone is a woman of color. I just wish there were more in-depth descriptions of the women in both series. We get lots of male prospections of bodies, but not much on faces, skin and hair.
Pretty short and sweet, very tightly focused on the hero & heroine, since they're stranded inside a dome for 98% of the book. I would have liked more of how Sabine was integrating into Dakkan's thrail, but we skip right over that and jump forward in time for the epilogue.
This was an entertaining story filled with excitement and adventure. I love being back in the Mitran Warlord world! The warlords are so grumpy at times but it doesn’t take long for their mates to soften them!
A great adventure and love story. And I am as usual grateful for the happy endings! I would love it if later Ella Blake could revisit some of these people we come to care for ... maybe??
Great storyline Sabine and Daakan are absolutely amazing together. The unexpecting surprises that awaited them was totally mindblowing. Very satisfying book.
I enjoyed meeting this unexpected species that protects their children. I liked how the author presented the story, keeping us clueless like the characters. The romance was very nice as well
Wow. This was full of unexpected surprises! It’s light on the emotional development and heavy on the exposition at the beginning. But overall a good read.
Ella Blake’s Dakkan’s Match is amazing. Sabine is a human do in ctor on her way to Dakkan’s thrall to care for all the human women and their children that are half Mitran half human., but her spacecraft is brought down in a sort of Devil’s Triangle. Dakkan’s sets out to find her and realizes that there’s an artificial barrier hiding an unknown environment where many have disappeared over the years. He finds Sabine but they can’t get out of the area as there’s a barrier. They meet an old Mitran who’s been trapped alone a long time and decide to try to negotiate a release from whoever is in charge. Sabine’s medical knowledge helps them get released as she and Dakkan fall in love and have plenty of sexy time!
