Gave up after first chapter

I work shifts and it's just not suited to me. It's all about routine, getting enough sleep and doing things at a certain time of the day...
There's no point pushing through to realise non of it can apply to my life.

My first impression was that this book was too simple. It was obvious, common sense advice that everyone knows. As I made my way through the book, though, Edblad offered more interesting and helpful advice and suggestions. For a quick read to remind yourself how to get back on track, or for a few fresh pointers on how to get organized, I would definitely recommend this book.

Edblad presents an overview of information that is designed to help you live a more productive and better quality life. Edblad discusses the four main habits for improving quality of life: sleep, nutrition, movement, and mindfulness. He then focuses on 12 strategies to help improve those habits. I found the book interesting and useful from a macro perspective and a good synthesizing of information. I've read many of the authors that Edblad references here and find the context and information from the source authors to be more insightful and helpful. If you are only going to read one self-help improvement book this is a good macro view that provides a lot of information that will help improve ones life when applied. In order to get a more nuanced view on each of these I'd recommend jumping into other authors that provide a deeper understanding of the science and methodology behind all of the strategies and the habits Edblad references.

It’s been a while since I read a book that captivated me with the simplicity of its language and the clarity of its expression—especially a translated one. But this book brought me a lot of joy. Despite its small size and simple topics, it is sincere and touches the reader directly. Its advice is realistic and easy to apply.

The author talks about distraction and procrastination, linking them to very simple strategies that are easy to implement. I highly recommend the book.

What I didn’t like was the part about the Tibetan monks, as I don’t believe in what they say or do.

Great book. Though many follow most of the strategies which are explained in the book I think it's really nice to see again. Some are new strategies for me, to put it in a single line I can say this is a definite go to book whenever the momentum is getting diminishes or getting slow. Quick read but bundled with more knowledge. Good recommendation to any loved ones who are moving away from their track. I believe author Patrik is a librarian because of many quotations from different books and researches(No offense to author). Finally I would like to conclude this review by saying "Thank you for reminding/recommending that what ever readers are doing will put them in right track to greatness".(Considering readers will follow minimum of 3-4 strategies for couple of months).

Fixed mindset💩“Are you sure you can do it? Maybe you don’t have the talent.”

Growth mindset🤓 “I’m not sure I can right now, but I can learn to with time and effort.”

💩 “What if you fail? You’ll be a failure.”

🤓 “Failing is part of becoming successful.”

💩“If you don’t try, you can protect yourself and keep your dignity.”

🤓: “If I don’t try, I’ll automatically fail. Where’s the dignity in that?”

A really good read to get some new ideas and advice to change your day to day habits for the better; helps with self-evaluation as well as make you realise where you currently are and compare it with where you want to be (especially if you're as lazy as me when it comes to getting things done and making every hour count!)

This is what I needed.

This is an excellent book. I have a very demanding job, family and kids and I don't have a lot a time to read a deep analysis of how productivity principles work. I needed a practical advices and examples of how to use it. I found that in this book. Thank Mr. Edblad. You are making a better world one person at time.

Puts things in perspective

I read a lot of self help books and this covers on a lot of the same things. It definitely has some unique stories and has made me look at things in a way I have not previously. I love way it ends with the storyboards story. It's a quick easy read that's worth your time.

Popcorn read

50% of the book is simply the summary of the previous chapter. Another 20% is links to other books with "tagline*, "hashtags" picked from them only.
However, its a good revision of what we already know consolidated in a good sequential manner. Almost like a flowchart

First, it’s free for everyone, so why not? Second, it’s perfectly succinct with nice bullet point summaries at the end. Third, the examples and quotes used are unique to me and quite good. Sure, most of these ideas are nothing new, but I’d argue it’s presented in a way that was useful and effective.

Solid read

Enjoyable.. Not a ton of fluff, solid action items. Could do with more implementation techniques and the habit workbook isn't free, so it feels a bit like a bait and switch.
