Escape to the beautiful coast in this heartwarming romance

Dare to dream big…

When Nancy opened her dream bookshop overlooking the golden sands and shimmering waters of Driftwood Bay, she may have taken on a little too much. She might know all about books, but doesn’t know the first thing about business! She did however, want to do something meaningful with the inheritance money she got from her beloved Aunty Theresa.

When Dennis, visiting grandson of one of her dearest friends, offers to help, Nancy knows she can’t say no. Dennis is a high-flying businessman, with a fancy London job and a successful banking portfolio to prove it.

Trouble is, he makes the worst first impression. Nothing short of an insufferable know-it-all, Dennis takes every opportunity to remind her how out of her depth she is.

But Nancy knows her strengths, and just as much as she needs Dennis, he needs her too. There’s plenty she can teach him, and the more she shows off her world of Driftwood Bay, where the pace of life is slower and the morning sunrises are the most beautiful thing you can witness, perhaps they could become more than just business partners?

An utterly gorgeous romantic read set by the beautiful Cornish coast, perfect for fans of Phillipa Ashley and Heidi Swain.

EXCERPT: He had a gorgeous laugh and I couldn't help but notice that his eyes crinkled up when he smiled. It wasn't every day that you bumped into someone who got you in a bit of a tizzy first thing in the morning. Maybe today was going to be a good day.
The handsome stranger followed me to the shop and I put the pile of books on the step as I turned the key in the lock and pushed the door, propping it open with the cute little doorstopper that my friend Meredith had made me in the shape of a pile of books, before picking the pile of books up again. He followed me in and copied me as I put the pile of books on the wooden counter. It felt strange having someone come into the shop with me. This was normally my sacred time. The realisation of my dream come true.
Never being the most spontaneous of people, I don't know what made me do it but the next words came out of my mouth before I'd even really thought about it.
'I don't suppose you . . . oh, never mind.'
'No, go on.' He raised an eyebrow in anticipation.
'Well, I was going to make myself a coffee. I don't suppose you'd like to join me, would you?' I could have kicked myself. Why on earth did I just invite him to join me? What was wrong with me?
'That's very kind of you. Do you normally offer random strangers drinks in the morning?'
'Only on a Wednesday.'
He grinned back at me. Well in that case, I'd better make the most of the day and I'd love to accept and perhaps if I tell you that my name is Dennis, and my nan is Vi, then I won't be so much of a stranger.'

MY THOUGHTS: A sweet and cute romance with interesting characters set in a small Cornish seaside village.

I haven't read the three previous books in this series, but it didn't impact on my enjoyment at all. Each book focuses on a different character or set of characters with only a little crossover.

It would be hard not to smile while reading The Bookshop in the Cornish Cove. I smiled my way through most of it. It's one of those 'feelgood' reads where you may know what the outcome is going to be, but you have a lot of fun getting there.

Vi is the outstanding character in this novel. Dennis's nan, she is vibrant, outspoken, self-deprecating and full of life. I loved her. Nancy and Daniel's parents are also lovely characters with a strong marriage and an appreciation of the joys of life.

Dennis and Nancy definitely aren't two peas in a pod. They are about as different from one another as two people can be. Nancy is all about sustainability, wearing pre-loved clothes and taking part in the community effort to keep the beaches clean. Dennis is all about designer labels, foreign holidays and money, money and more money. Nancy can be stubborn; Dennis comes across as a smug know-it-all. Yet both have qualities that the other admires and before long, something sparks between them.

Of course it's not going to be a smooth ride. Where would be the fun in that? Even the spats and estrangements are entertaining.

One thing that niggled at me is that Nancy simply shuts her bookshop for days on end and swans off to either avoid Dennis when they are rowing, or to chase after him when they aren't. Not plausible. Especially immediately before Christmas!

All up, this is an easy and entertaining read, and I wouldn't say no to reading more from this series.

How wonderful to be back in Driftwood Bay! As soon as I saw that Kim Nash had a new book in her Cornish Cove series coming out, I had to get my hands and eyes on it! I love the setting, the sense of community, the friendships, the lovely characters, the banter, and of course, the romance! As with the other books in this series, I was instantly drawn into this book, the lives of the characters and their plight.

Nancy received inheritance money from her aunt and decided to follow her heart and love of books and opened a bookshop overlooking Driftwood Bay. Unfortunately, Nancy is not a businesswoman, and her bookstore is struggling financially.

Dennis is a hot shot businessman who has come to town to visit his grandmother. Driftwood bay is the type of community where everyone knows each other, and he soon learns about Nancy and her bookstore. He offers to help.......

It is pretty much a guarantee that if Kim Nash writes it, I am going to read it! What I love the most about her books is the heartwarming feeling I get as I finish them with a smile on my face and hopeful for the next book in the series. I find her books to be uplifting, full of likeable characters, witty, and relatable. I am always rooting for her characters and love their inner thoughts. I especially enjoy how she handles their insecurities, their vulnerabilities, their strengths, and their determination. All of this makes her characters feel real and I can relate to them. As I mentioned above, I also enjoy the focus on friendships, relationships, and romance in Kim Nash's books.

Beautifully written, charming, heartwarming, and delightful!

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Nancy was finally able to open her dream business, a bookshop, she knows a lot about books, but not so much about business. Thats where Dennis comes in, if he can stop being so insufferable that is. This was a good read.

I discovered the first three books of this series last year. I’ve only just got around to the final one (apologies to the writer) and I was hopeful to return back to Driftwood Bay.

Yet, I didn’t come to enjoy this book as much as the others. Whilst it started out strong, I thought it went off the boil and slowed right down after the half way mark. I mean, setting a story in a bookshop by the seaside is usually a recipe for success for me, but I was a bit flummoxed by the main characters.

Both protagonists seem shockingly clueless with their heads buried in the sands of Driftwood Bay itself. Despite running a business, Nancy has little idea about how to turn a profit, happily continuing on until, I guess, she is completely bankrupt. On the other hand, flashy Dennis has little concern about the environment and is shocked when Nancy explains the plastic found on the beaches and the length of time it can take to degrade. Seriously, in a world we live in today, how can both of these people know so little about either of these things?

Their developing relationship was sweet to watch unfold because initially the pair are fighting like cats and dogs. Quite quickly, Nancy finds herself falling for Dennis and eventually, (too long, in my opinion) they acknowledge their feelings for one another. Whilst it was a pleasant touch to the story, I grew frustrated by how long it took Nancy and Dennis to rekindle their relationship after the inevitable separation. For me, the use of letters was a touch tedious and instead I wanted to see more “real time” interaction between the characters.

This is a winter’s tale, although Christmas hardly features – certainly a good “warm up” read to the festive season. Whilst it didn’t warm me as much as I wanted (and I am still cringing over the nickname ‘Dennie’), it was definitely full of feel-good vibes and one that ends on that well-needed note of optimism. Sadly, it just wasn’t my more favourite books of the series.

With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ahhhhhh,it was great to be back in ‘Driftwood Bay.’…..the idyllic village the author has created in Cornwall and re meet some of the previous characters….especially of course Vi with her food combo concoctions and caustic yet kind ways ,in fact Vi features quite a lot as one of the main newcomers to the story is her grandson Dennis who is staying with her for some ‘downtime’……….and when Dennis meets Nancy , the owner of the villages new bookshop….the sparks fly….not always in a good way but Dennis rekindles something Nancy has been missing….

Really loved the prep for and the actual official opening of the bookstore and the inside info this brought to the book and also really enjoyed the ‘letters’ part of the book, different and vital to the story

Of course loved the cover, the covers to these books are always top notch

And as for the story…well it was happy, sad, happy, sad and everything in between and another must read in this series based around one of my favourite places to read about and be a part of every time I find myself back there c/o of the author.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is the fourth book set in Driftwood Bay but don’t worry if you haven’t read them all (or any of them) as they are all standalone novels. Each focuses on a different main character although of course, if you are familiar with the series, you will be pleased to recognise some well-known faces.

I really enjoyed the bookshop setting of this book. It was so interesting reading about the start-up of a bookselling business and get an insight into life as an independent bookshop owner. Nancy had all the enthusiasm for running her dream bookshop but sadly none of the business acumen! Luckily, help was at hand in the form of Dennis, a successful and handsome businessman taking some time away from his high-powered London job. Dennis was the grandson of Vi and I just have to say what a fantastic character she was. She was so cheery, wise and down-to-earth with a colourful turn of phrase that often made me laugh and made her grandson blush!

The relationship between Nancy and Dennis was wonderful to read about although not without its ups and downs of course. One thing I especially loved was the way that Dennis revealed the story of his challenging earlier life to Nancy. I don’t want to give away anything so will just say it was perfect for the theme of the book and absolutely the best way to get into Nancy’s heart.

I also enjoyed the strong environmental message in the book. There’s a lot about sustainability both in people’s personal lives and in the business world. Recycling, upcycling and beach clean-ups all feature showing just how important everyone’s contribution is, no matter how small.

I’ve read a few of Kim Nash’s books and think this is her best yet. She has such a good understanding of what makes for an engaging and heart-warming read and is a natural story-teller. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time in Driftwood Bay. If you love a small-town romance and a happy-ever-after (and who doesn’t?) then this is a perfect read for you.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is the fourth book in the Cornish Cove series, (which I didn’t realise when I accepted the review) however this didn’t matter at all and I comfortably enjoyed this one without any prior knowledge.

I’m sure that like many booklovers, I’ve secretly had a dream of owning a bookshop however here 27 year old Nancy realises that dream with the help of an inheritance. The problem is that despite her excitement she has no business plan, nor any concept of how to grow the business and it looks doomed to fail. This is where Dennis comes in. Dennis is both handsome and a hot shot financial adviser who quickly susses out Nancy’s business weak spots. Unfortunately he also has rather an arrogant and condescending manner which sets sparks and friction flying between the two.

This was my first visit to Driftwood Bay and I loved the community feel that comes through. Aside from books, Nancy’s other passion is protecting the environment and sustainability; as a Beach Angel she is diligent in beach clearing and frequently gives up her time. No foreign holidays or long haul flights for her, unlike Dennis’ extravagant travel lifestyle – the two of them seemed miles apart on this alone.

Those fledgling sparks of romance had a challenging time with these two. Both had their flaws, Nancy being frustratingly stubborn whilst Dennis often came across as a smug know it all. As you can probably guess though, there is more to this fractious relationship than initially appears and the slow release of background information makes for a story with depth and compassion. Dennis’ obvious affection for his gran was heartwarming to see.

This was such a warm and engaging read which I very much enjoyed. Aside from the community pulling together, there is a deep family bond and loyalty surrounding Nancy – her brother, despite his own problems, really was a supportive shoulder. Potty mouth Vi, Dennis’ elderly grandmother, provided the humour to this thoughtful and uplifting story. I will be checking out the others in the series as I would love to return to Driftwood Bay.

What a gorgeous treat this book is! I absolutely loved everything about it and finished it in a little over a single sitting. Granted, I am aware of my reading commitments, but being transported to Driftwood Bay was the tonic that I hadn’t realised I needed.
On arrival, we meet Nancy, who has just taken possession of a shop unit where she plans to open her very own bookshop. She has all the knowledge required for books, but there’s zero business knowledge for her to draw on, and that’s where the first twist comes in. Nancy is a fabulous leading lady, but she wears her heart on her sleeve and can easily be perceived as vulnerable. Her chaos may be disorganised, but she has big plans for her bookshop. It’s soon evident that the community sees her as an asset as they support her in droves.
We then meet Dennis. He has appeared in earlier books as he’s the grandson of Violet, who lives in a cottage in the village. Violet, or rather Vi, is a breath of fresh air, and her grasp of Anglo-Saxon is impressive. Her no-nonsense approach to life may have resulted in some hilarious moments, but her love for her grandson is without question. Dennis, however, is a little more difficult to get a handle on and I was utterly entranced as I followed his path through this book. He works as a business consultant in London, which is handy for Nancy. He has a good heart, although some of his decisions are questionable.
Like the rest of this series, The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is filled with relatable moments, perfectly developed characters, and an enviable community. At heart, it’s a story of the strength of family, of forgiveness and rediscovery. It’s also a fabulous study of inappropriate language. As I mentioned, I loved it.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is #4 in the (stand-alone) engaging and warmhearted Cornish Cove series.

Nancy opens her dream bookstore in Driftwood Bay. Although she loves books, she doesn’t know much about running a business and quickly thinks she might be in over her head. When Dennis, the handsome, know-it-all visiting grandson of a friend, generously offers his expertise, sparks fly in every direction.

Bookshop, Quaint Cornish Village…and more. OK…I’m sold! In actuality, the bookshop and the Cornish village are simply backdrops to the drama. Nancy is consumed with chasing her big dream with her aunt’s inheritance money, worried about her flailing business, and annoyed by the know-it-all, insufferable, big city guy who offers his assistance. Dennis has his own struggles, and Nancy might be the right gal to help him find a work-life balance. In my reading experience, it takes a minute to warm up to both main characters. By story’s end, we’re cheering for their HEA.

Tropes on our way to an expected HEA include idealist vs realist, enemies to lovers, and big city guy falls for a local bookshop owner and the quaint village by the sea lifestyle. Of course, we have the expected and dramatic third act breakup.

Even though this is #4 in the Cornish Cove series, it reads fine as a stand-alone. I think the series is connected by location and that each installment might focus on a different member of the community. Because of the close community aspect, I’m sure it’s a richer reading experience to read the entire series, but I never felt like I was missing something by reading this as a stand-alone.

Fans of Kim Nash will appreciate this new installment in the loosely connected Cornish Cove series. If you love a close-knit seaside community, a determined female entrepreneur, and romance, consider this engaging story for your TBR.

This is a really sweet, enjoyable romance. Although, for the first few chapters I didn't really like Nancy very much. She just seemed a bit too airy-fairy and was very quick to jump to conclusions without thinking! Anyway, she did eventually grow on me, although her presumptions do end up causing a few misinterpretations of situations leading to some heartache, but all's well that ends well! I loved Vi, she's just so brutally honest, but so funny. I didn't realise this is book 4 in the series when I started reading. However, it's no problem to read as a standalone. A good, fun, light read.

~Romance, Small-town, Bookshop, and more!~

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove by Kim Nash follows Nancy, who just achieved her dream of opening her very own bookshop in Driftwood Bay. The problem is even though this has been her dream for as long as she can remember, Nancy doesn't exactly have a business plan. Leaving her stores success up to the universe isn't working as expected, with the bills stacking up and her savings being drained by the day. So when Dennis, a handsome big-shot businessman who is in town visiting his grandma, offers to help, Nancy has no choice but to accept. With their constant budding heads and a spark of romance, will Nancy and Dennis be able to save her bookshop, or will it become just another statistic? And will their friendship turn into something more despite their differences?

3.5| This was a cute read with an interesting premise. I did end up enjoying this book; I loved the descriptions of the scenery and getting to know the town and how it operates. The beginning of the book was not my favorite. Everything was happening a bit fast, and I found the characters hard to connect with. Dennis and Nancy were constantly budding heads and "starting over" that it got repetitive and redundant. As much as I didn't enjoy the first half of this book, the second half of the book made up for it. I loved the letters and how much we got to know Dennis through them. I loved seeing Nancy's relationship with her brother and how they both worked through their individual issues. While I did love her brother's character, I felt the introduction of him was a little odd. He is just randomly mentioned after the story had already developed quite a bit. I would have liked him to be mentioned earlier so his existence wasn't so out of the blue. I loved Nancy's whole family dynamic, though I wish we saw more of her dad. Nancy's mum is mentioned quite a bit, but her dad seemed like an afterthought with barely any dialogue. I did find the characters were well balanced which was nice. I also enjoyed how Dennis had a reason behind his actions instead of excuses.

While I did enjoy parts of this book, I did encounter some inconsistencies. One of them was with Dennis's number being blocked. It is specifically stated that Nancy blocked his number and deleted his contact. Later, she goes to text him even though she wouldn't have the ability to. This was a big oversight to me, especially since she never texts him anyway, so it seemed unnecessary to the story and just created confusion. My main frustration is that she simply just didn't talk to him. The miscommunication happens twice; the first time, Nancy has a lot of regrets, so it doesn't make sense that she would repeat this action without giving him a chance to explain. As for the end, I think it was a bit sudden. I wished they had talked things out though I did enjoy the romantic gesture. I wish I had gotten to see more of the townspeople and more of Nancy's day-to-day life. I liked seeing her backstory, but seeing more of her current life would have allowed me to understand her character better.

Overall, this was a pleasant and sweet read. While I didn't love everything in this book, the characters were cute, and the descriptions of the town and environment were great. I liked how complex both the characters were and how we got to hear both of their backstories. A cute read I would recommend to anyone who loves small-town romances!

Expected publication is October 28, 2024

Nancy always dreamed of opening her own bookshop, and a legacy from her Aunt Theresa has finally made it possible. Books are her passion, and she always knew it would involve more than being able to read books and talk to people about them all day – but she never realised it would be such a struggle without a grasp of the business knowledge she so badly needs. The shop is haemorrhaging money, but she’s reluctant to admit it – and she certainly doesn’t plan to tell her mum, who’s always on hand offering her support and is so proud of her achievement. Dennis, staying with his grandmother Vi for a while, is a high-powered business analyst (and, rather pleasingly – to the eye at least – a Ryan Gosling lookalike), but really puts her back up at their first encounter when he’s rudely dismissive of her efforts – though when he offers her the cost-free benefit of his know-how to help her turn the business around, it’s an offer she really can’t afford to refuse.

They really are chalk and cheese – she’s all arty and a bit airy-fairy (but really lovely with it!), he’s entirely focused on the bottom line and turning a profit – so they often clash, but also come to realise there’s more than a spark of attraction between them. And things are going well – lots of fresh ideas, initiatives when the whole community can come together, a real excitement about future possibilities – when Nancy has good reason to question his motives for such selfless support.

Do read this one as a standalone if you want to – it’s a complete story, and one everyone would enjoy – but, if you’ve visited Driftwood Bay before, you’ll enjoy spending time again with the familiar characters who live there. And there’s no greater character than Dennis’ grandmother Vi – potty mouthed at times (and hilarious!), the most supportive person you could possibly have in your corner, but badly torn when things begin to go less smoothly. The author’s books always have a wonderful focus on family. As well as Vi and Dennis – and the difficult back story that slowly emerges – there’s Nancy’s lovely relationship with her brother, having relationship issues of his own, very sensitively handled. And I did love Nancy’s mum, and their relationship, but less frequent visits might have made her life rather easier. And I really enjoyed the strong friendships too, with everyone stepping up to the plate, playing their part and providing their own particular helping hand when it’s most needed.

Nancy’s an open book – heart on her sleeve, easily hurt – while Dennis, slowly becoming rather less buttoned up, is always rather more of an enigma. But the attraction between them is something you can really feel until… oh Dennis! But there’s the most perfect balance between the fun moments and the more emotional ones. The author has a particular sureness of touch – when her characters hurt, I could feel the pain too, but the happy moments filled my heart with joy. And I have to say that I also really loved the whole bookshop setting – a sure-fire winner with any reader when it’s done so well, and I found myself cheering every small win along the way to greater financial security and a hoped-for happy ending.

Yes, I can certainly say that I loved this one – my favourite in the series so far (the bar was already high…!), and I really couldn’t recommend it more. I wish I could have lingered in Driftwood Bay a little longer though, I really didn’t want to leave my friends behind (or those perfect sunsets) – I’ll be very much looking forward to my next visit.

I adored this book and loved slipping back into life in the fictional seaside town of Driftwood Bay, the beautiful place where everyone looks out for each other. I loved the little mentions to the characters from the previous books.

I knew I’d love this next instalment as soon as I heard the title. Owning a bookshop is every book lovers dream so slipping into life following the owner was wonderful and found the story so beautifully written.

I feel this series gets better with each new book. As with others in the series, the characters are so well developed, you can’t help but love them. I particularly loved the camaraderie between the siblings Nancy and Dan, their close relationship with rivalry and playful banter, I love the rapport they had and loved their interactions.

Equally the wit through the book was brilliant! I’ve mentioned this in my last review with ‘Nan’ and love the little quips she makes but in this book those little comedy notes are frequent which really lifted spirits and kept me smiling throughout.

I adore this series and if you are looking for something light hearted with a touch of romance without the detailed spice then this series is just perfect for you.

Obsessed with Driftwood Bay and all it's residents.

I've read this series from the beginning and have loved each book more than the last. Nancy and Dennis are too cute and work so well together.

There hasn't been a single book of Kim's I've not enjoyed and I can't wait for my next visit to Driftwood.

I admit I am a little bit in love with this series and this latest book is absolutely no exception to the rule. The Cornish Cove books are all set in a place called Driftwood Bay. Each book focuses on a couple of main characters but the beauty of this is that if read in order you get to know so many people that live in this little town. This time around we get to know Nancy who has opened a bookshop which was always a dream of hers.

Alongside Nancy we meet Vi's grandson Dennis who hasn't featured much in previous books but I am so glad we got to hear his story this time around. What I found amusing about this latest book is how much Nancy and Dennis annoy each other. It makes for such a good read. I love that we see all the community members in one way or another threaded throughout the book.

Overall these are now my go to books when I need a bit of a boost. With all the dreary weather and people trudging about in the cold, dark and rain there is nothing quite like an uplifting read like the ones that Kim Nash produces. I absolutely loved this book as I have the others and I only hope that Kim continues to produce books just like this!

We are back in this delightful little Cornish village for the next installment of Driftwood Bay. In this story we meet Nancy, the book lover who opens her own bookshop but has no idea how to run a business and Dennis the big wig London financial guy.

I enjoyed the story a lot. I mean who doesn't dream of being Nancy?! The chemistry between her and Dennis is electric and them butting heads also added to that chemistry a bit as well. I truly loved the letters part of the story and really getting to know Dennis. I really fell in love with him after those letters!

This was a light hearted, sweet, funny, cosy romance where opposites definitely do attract.

If you want a quick read then get this one as it's perfect for cosying up with and escaping the real world for a little bit.

BLOG TOUR: THE BOOKSHOP AT THE CORNISH COVE BY KIM NASH
BLOG TOUR • BOOKISH BOOKS READING CHALLENGE 2024 • CORNISH COVE • KIM NASH • NETGALLEY • NEW RELEASE CHALLENGE

For many readers, the dream of working in or owning a bookstore is real, if for no other reason that you get to read and talk about books all day! How much fun would that be?

For Nancy, that dream has come through, thanks in no small part to an inheritance that she has received. She has set up her shop in the small town of Driftwood Bay. It's fair to say that Nancy doesn't have a lot of experience running a business, but she does have every faith in the universe providing. She has a kind of if you build it they will come kind of mentality. When she isn't busy in her store, she helps keep the local beach clean, doing her bit for the environment

The person she doesn't expect to have come into her life is hotshot finance/business man Dennis. He is visiting his colourful grandmother, Vi, in Driftwood Bay. He waltzes into town wearing his designer clothes, takes one look at Nancy's store and sees straight away that she has no idea how to run a business successfully. And much to Nancy's chagrin, he's not afraid to tell her all the ways she is getting it wrong, which causes them to clash, even though she does have to admit, some of his ideas are quite good. And he is quite handsome too.

This is the fourth book in the Cornish Bay series and it can easily be read as a standalone. I absolutely love this series and one of the things that made me want to read this book was the gorgeous cover. After Nancy receives an inheritance from her Aunty Theresa she decides to follow her dream and opens a book shop. For an avid reader like me I couldn’t think of anything better , imagine your own book store where you could spend all day selling books and of course reading them as well.
It was so lovely to be back in Driftwood Bay and catch up with characters we have met in previous books and new ones as well. I adored Vi with her way with words and some of her comments had me laughing out loud. Whilst this is an easy read it’s also one that absorbed me from the very start. Kim Nash is one of my go to authors and she has again written a book that made my heart sing at times. A perfect book for these colder nights curled up on the sofa with a hot chocolate in hand.

Nancy has always had the dream of owning her own bookshop. It’s a lot more than she was expecting. She gets some unexpected help from a good friend’s grandson.
The two main characters really got on my last nerve. I just didn’t care for either one. This was a rather predictable book.

Although starting off in the red, Nancy has achieved her dream of opening her own bookshop. However, Nancy is more than a bit short of business acumen, so she has her work cut out for her. When a man named Dennis comes to Driftwood Bay, he sees Nancy’s struggles and offers her his business expertise. Since he is the grandson of one of her dear friends, Nancy agrees to accept his help.

Even though Dennis can definitely offer Nancy the benefit of his experience, the two get off on the wrong foot, and definitely don’t see eye to eye. As they are seemingly opposites in every way, I loved the romance that bloomed between them.

With the friction between Nancy and Dennis, this book could be a tense read at times, but it certainly made me smile more than once. I loved the story within a story and could not take my eyes off of the screen of my Kindle. I love how Kim Nash easily pulled me into the story. Equally wonderful and heartwarming, this is a book that I highly recommend.

Many thanks to Boldwood Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This is book #4 in the Cornish Cove series. Whilst it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone book. I would however recommend reading all the other books of the series, because they are so lovely so why wouldn't you want to!! In this latest book, we return to the beautiful seaside village of Driftwood Bay. Nancy is just about to open her very first bookshop thanks to the inheritance left by beloved Aunty Theresa. She's never had her own business before, so doesn't have the first clue what she's doing but how difficult can it be?! Then she meets Dennis, a high flying businessman who is visiting and staying with his grandmother, Vi. Their first meeting isn't very successful, but with Dennis's business skills and her energy for life, could they become friends?

I absolutely LOVED this book!! I've read all the other books of the series, but this one definitely has to be my favourite! I mean, take away Nancy and Dennis, and you have a bookshop by the sea...what couldn't I like about that!! But...bookshop aside, Nancy and Dennis make the storyline complete!! Both of them are wonderful characters and I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet them! Nancy is so lovely and whilst she goes about spending her Aunt's inheritance like there's no tomorrow and offering discounts and freebies in the shop, you just know that she is an talented and amazing woman! Dennis, whilst he initially has his flaws, certainly won me round with his winning smile and cheeky winks! He certainly sounds very pleasing on the eye and I spent the entire book hoping he and Nancy hit it off!! (I certainly found myself experiencing the same flippy-flops in my stomach every time he smiled at her!!). He's also a great businessman and I loved his ideas to make money and help Nancy out with the shop!

The book flows along at a lovely pace and I was very quickly caught up in their storylines! I found myself forgetting about everything I needed to, and anything that was going on around me as I had my eyes glued to the pages! It wasn't just Dennis and Nancy's stories that had me hooked though, the little village of Driftwood Bay was captivating and I could picture the beach, the sea and all the little shops as I read. I also loved the other members of the community and, particularly Nancy's family who were amazing - her mum was so funny with her sex talks! Nancy's relationship with her brother was so warming and lovely, and I loved how he was always ready for a much needed hug or to stand up for her.

This was the perfect read for me! It had everything that I love about a book - it had me laughing, it tugged on my heartstrings and there was a gorgeous man who I could easily have brought home! The location, a strong family and friend theme and, of course, a bookshop just added that bit of extra winter sparkle to it! I really hope we can return to Driftwood Bay again!! Wonderful!! Would recommend!

A sweet read. Set in Cornwall in a bookshop. The village atmosphere was lovely and made me wish I lived there and running the bookshop. The added bonus of a romance really finished the story of. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is another wonderful addition to the series by Kim Nash, which just keep getting better. If you haven't read this series, then I can highly recommend them all. You don't have to have read them all but some of the characters from the previous books are mentioned and it nice to hear what they are up to!

Nancy is mentioned at the end of the last book so it was lovely to focus on her and the new bookshop she has just opened. Having dreamt of this for most of her life, she is convinced it is out of reach so focuses on her life and being an art teacher. Her life changes when she receives an inheritance from her Aunt Theresa and she decides to follow her dreams and quit the job that isn’t making her happy. Although she is happy with her decision, things are a little bit slow and living in a small coastal village, her business isn’t booming as much as she would like, she knows things need to improve especially with the slower and quieter winter months approaching.

Dennis is the grandson of Vi, the heart and a big character in the village and visiting his grandmother, when he accidentally runs into Nancy, early one morning. Despite his brash character and personality, he can sense that things need to improve at the bookshop and offers to help Nancy and make the bookshop become more viable. At first Nancy is reluctant to have Dennis involved but when she mentions she doesn’t have a business plan and no idea of how to market her business, she eventually comes around and they form a bond despite them living completely different lives.

To say opposites attract is an understatement! Dennis is flash and wears the latest fashion, whereas Nancy is very much a homebody and loves her cosy village and waking up to beautiful views every morning. I loved how passionate she was with her views on protecting the environment and keeping the beaches clean which she introduces Dennis to.

The thing I really like about Kim's books are the underlying issues that she weaves into the plot. There are several in this story and they are written with consideration and not just for the sake of the storyline. I personally found the story surrounding Nancy's brother really interesting with his on/off relationship with his domineering girlfriend and his lack of confidence when faced with being on his own. Although not the main storyline, it was explored really well and am hoping that we get to here from him in further books as we get a bit of an inkling of what the future holds for him.....!

Another winner and beautifully written book from Kim Nash who just gets better with each book. It was just the type of book I needed to read.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is a endearing tale of a young woman who opens a bookshop in her beloved hometown, Driftwood Bay. Nancy lives at home with her parents, after inheriting some money from her Aunty, she leaves her teaching position and following a lifelong dream, opens a bookshop.

The shop sounds beautiful, Nancy lights scented candles and creates extravagant seasonal displays. However, she is leaking money from the business, spending more than she can afford , with no effective business plan or publicity campaign. Que the gorgeous Grandson of the incorrigible Vi, Dennis. Vi is a favourite reoccurring character in the Driftwood bay book series, Dennis just passes through and is barely mentioned the picture created is of an older, sensible man, which this is the same impression Nancy has until she meets him. Dennis is indeed a business man but he is young and extremely attractive. Unfortunately he is also arrogant and when trying to help Nancy with ideas to develop her business, continually offends her, stepping on her toes and being rude about her lack of vision.

Nancy and Dennis discover that despite negative first impressions that they are in fact good for one another other. I loved the creative suggestions they come up with together for the bookshop. It made me long to find a place just like that to visit. Nancy shows Dennis what it is like to be part of a community to enjoy the simple things in life and care for your environment as well as all around you. There are plenty of amusing and heartwarming scenes as the two of them battle with their respective opinions and lifestyles to create a flourishing business.

All is not what it seems with Dennis. His life in London is a mystery and not everything is straightforward. Lies, tears and plenty of hugs from Nancy’s kindhearted, downtrodden brother, who is also on an emotional journey of his own, make for a heartening read.

I look forward to visiting Driftwood bay again in the future and hope that I also find the bookshop of Nancy’s dreams myself one day (as a frequent customer not owner!)

This is another fabulous book in the Cornish Cove series, I love this series; this latest book has some new faces and some old ones.

Nancy had wanted to open a bookshop, and after receiving an inheritance from her Aunt she has her dream come to fruition. One problem though, is that she is not exactly business-minded and there is more money going out than coming in. Dennis is stopping with his Grandmother, Vi. If you have read the previous books you will certainly remember this "says exactly what she thinks" character.

Dennis meets Nancy and while there is a sort of attraction they are two very different people, Dennis is a business analyst and thinks about money and making the most he can. Nancy is a dreamer, believing in fate and what will be, will be. A clash of personality and opinion doesn't make the best first impression, but Dennis has a very good reason for wanting to help Nancy turn her bookshop around.

This is another fun read and it had me chuckling on a few occasions. But there is something more serious for our characters to overcome and that is very much to do with their pasts and also how they perceive things to be. It doesn't help that Nancy's brother has also been kicked out of his house again and it seems to prove that relationships are not something that everyone can have or make work.

There is a lot of tension simmering through the story and this has been done very well with the other subplots the whole thing comes together wonderfully. Opinions and observations are shared, and some soul-searching is required for several of the characters and the residents of Driftwood Bay are eager to help out where they can. I do like how the author has brought in new ideas for the bookshop and it fits in so well with Nancy and the way she sees life.

I really enjoyed this book and it was wonderful to be back at Driftwood Bay with the characters and the community. A fabulous story and one for fans of contemporary fiction and romance. I would definitely recommend this one.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove by Kim Nash

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to Rachel's Random Resources and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

My Opinion

It was nice to visit Driftwood Bay again, it is always nice to visit old friends. Who doesn’t love a book that contains a book shop? Kim Nash is an author that I have only recently discovered but I have yet to find a book that I haven’t enjoyed.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove was a delightful book with some very relatable characters. Nancy and Dennis must work together to help make Nancy’s bookshop a financial success. The Cornish Cove series by Kim Nash really is a must-read series. I sat and read this book in one sitting as it was difficult to put down.

It was lovely being back in Driftwood Bay, getting to know Nancy and Dennis. Vi’s grandson has been briefly mentioned in previous books but we get a proper introduction to him this time. Vi deserves a full story to herself, she is absolutely hilarious and always makes me laugh with what comes out of her mouth. I felt embarrassed for both Dennis and Nancy at times!

Nancy I couldn’t help being envious of. Is it awful to wish someone would die and leave me a heap of money so I could start up a bookshop of my own? I know it is but I couldn’t help going to bed and dreaming of a wonderful bookshop near to the sea as well as pinching Dennis and Nancy’s ideas of how to drive sales through lol. Honestly, as a book lover, she has the dream job even if it is struggling, which of course is where Dennis comes in.

There are so many tongue in cheek moments that guaranteed this to be a fun read. The thrill of the will they, won’t they, moments wondering if the two will ever fully get it together. Of course you can’t forget the idyllic location, the small community and the family bonds that add to how compelling this story was. Dennis and Nancy couldn’t be anymore different in terms of personality as well as interests but this is the ideal scenario of opposites attract.

The Bookshop at the Cornish Cove is the perfect uplifting read that will leave you with a smile on your face and a full heart! The author nails the small town romance and setting, making it the ideal way to escape from real life. It will definitely have you curling up on the sofa or in bed and wanting to shut the real world outside while you lose yourself in to the story. A truly gorgeous, laugh-out-loud read!
