Welcome to the official Goodreads page of popular children’s author David Lawrence Jones, where you will find up-to-date information about his books, events and activities.
David was born in 1964 in a mining village called Ravenfield, near Rotherham in South Yorkshire. Following a career of varied professional roles, he is now the writer of children’s books.
Over the past fifteen years he has produced many stories to capture the imagination of children. His first novel was published in 2009 and he is well renowned for the popular Bradley Baker adventures.
David is very excited and thrilled to have created a new picture book series called Jig & Saw about two adopted jigsaw pieces. Many stories are planned full of adventure when the characters discover “What’s in store behind the cupboard door!”
The author now resides in the picturesque seaside town of Torquay in Devon with his wife and two youngest children. He continues to write from his study at home and visits as many primary schools as possible throughout the UK to share his love of literacy. As a child, he was a reluctant reader and he hones his author visits to create a real buzz around reading and writing… and so far no one has been disappointed by his infectious enthusiasm of the written word!
David is proud to support two very worthwhile causes based in the South West. He is a patron of Families for Children Adoption based at Buckfast Abbey and the chancellor for Torbay’s Children’s University based at Plymouth University.
